Plesk Automation :: How To Count Websites For Per-website Licensing Model

I've asked sales a few times but they don't seem to know...what counts as a "website?" In PPA as a test we set up two subscriptions and one mail-only secondary domain on one of them. The Services/Websites tab lists all three, but only two are marked as Website under Hosting Type while the third is marked No Hosting. Does that count as two websites for license purposes, or three?
I'm trying to plan for multiple domains, subdomains, etc.

A single website is returning 503 to every request - it's a wordpress site - and we have a lot of those, none of the others are returning the same errors, so this is quite odd to me:

I uploaded the default skeleton files into the management ppa server at /var/www/vhosts/.skel/0/
But when I am creating a new subscription the skeleton is still the default plesk skeleton, something changed from ppa 11 to 11.5 ??

I'm having a problem where there are a few test websites that have been left over from deleted subscriptions, there doesn't seem to be any option under Services > Websites to delete them or reassign them to a subscription, and when I try to add a new subscription and specify one of the websites I can't create the subscription as it says that the website already exists, ideally I would just like to remove these websites

I'm running a fresh install of Plesk 12 on Ubuntu. I've used the migration manager to import domains and accounts from another (older) installation. Everything worked well.
After the process, Plesk suggested the "Complete Switching to the new Plesk business model". After switching, half of the Domains didn't show up anymore (not in Subscribtions, nor in a Customer Account) and the Domains page was completely blank. But if I check the page "Traffic Usage By Domains", the Domains still show up and they are still in the vhosts folder and they are still accessible.
So I guess the Domains are still in the database, they just lost the connection to a subscription or customer. How can I restore this connection?

Recently I've tested the usage of domain keys on my plesk 12 server. The feature works without problems. I'm wondering however if it's possible to activate the domain keys by a service plan or subscription model. If not, for all my domains (65) I've to activate them manually and for each domain iIll create in the future I have to activate it too.

I am installing plesk automation on centos 6.5 using this command on a fresh system
./ppa_installer --password some_password --admin_email some_email
and get the following error.

On a clean install of CentOS 6.6 (Final) I did the following:
1. updated the /etc/hosts file to point my ip to the hostname
2. Open the ports in the iptables file.
3. ran the ppa_installer per the instructions on [URL] ....
The ppa_installer log says installed Successfully. However the following occurs:
1. Cannot browse to the url:8443, or any of the other variations (8080, 8880, https/http)
2. Yum installer is now broken (I replicated this twice). Yum will not run at all with the following error:
There was a problem importing one of the Python modules required to run yum. The error leading to this problem was: /usr/lib64/libcurl.so.4: file too short
Please install a package which provides this module, or verify that the module is installed correctly.It's possible that the above module doesn't match the
current version of Python, which is:

I have question about the bandwidth. I have a VPS with 1000gb of bandwidth. How does it count actually. 500gb up & 500gb down or 1000gb up & 1000gb down or what? Is it the same with the shared hosting? I think I don't really need that much of bandwidth.

I got an alert from cpanel that a user had sent out 100s of emails and they were NOT being blocked, ofcourse to discover it was spam...without question, i deleted the account, thankfully i know who the site belongs too, and ofcourse im sure they didnot send spam,:..
1) Is it within common practice to delete someones account once such is noticed occuring on their account?..with or without notice
2) How can the server block such mass emails from being sent out? ( I have recently advised some of our clients to use newsletter services to send out mass mails if they have to send to 100+ plus people)
3) I found the script that sent out the spam emails..it was a file called sky.php i deleted but i never got a warning that such a file had been uploaded to that account...

I have decided to finally remove all my servers rented from provider to provider to one single place.
I want to manage everything, so basically route the traffic (at this time without BGP or OSPF), my current average of traffic for all servers together would be about 15 Mbit/s with top at 35-45 Mbit/s.
I want to buy a cheap router (no computer router), I'd like to buy a chassis with very extensible and upgradable router, so I can start with a basic card and later use BGP (and maybe OSPF) and have ability to push from 30 Mbit/s (to over 1000 Mbit/s by upgrading cards and memory).
So, which (refurbished or not) chassis can I buy ? Which card would you setup with it ?
The important is really the ability to start with low cost configuration and go up to very high rates without having to change all (of course once I will be average over...).

its seems thats the problem keep didn't fix it when i try to install the textimage plugin for the wordpress ......

I have 2 dedicated servers to host several websites at this moment. Each server hosts several website, include both files and database (Apache, PHP, Mysql). And I think that this is not a good model.
I intend to re-organize my servers to have one server for web applications (Apache and PHP) and one server for databases (Mysql). In this case, the servers could be better optimized.
What OS should be used for each server?

trying to understand the colocation business model (for webhosting).
Am I right in assuming that following business model:
1. Rent a portion (or full) rack from datacenter, e.g. calpop.com
2. Buy servers and get them shipped to datacenter
3. For unmanaged servers, typically most support will be limited to reboots, reinstall of OS/control panel, and server hardware issues - correct?
4. Provide basic support, or sign-up with companies like bobcare.com to provide support to clients who order server
One-time cost (for 1-3 years): Cost of dedicated server hardware
Ongoing monthly costs: rack rental + outsourced support (optional)
...plus marketing costs....
Please let me know if I missed something or overlooked details...

On 4/11 at 5:30pm, my server's root was compromised and someone had a field day on my server. Surprisingly with the level of access they had, the person very quietly ran a script (I've yet to find the file, but saw reference to it in another forum about this) that updated every single .html, .htm, and *index.php file in the homes directory. I can't even count how many files were edited -- atleast 100-200 files I've had to manually change thus far.
That said, I wanted to warn everyone about this. My google results were slim on this subject. What I find really surprising is that Avast! is the only anti-virus software to warn me of the possible malware being opened. I use either at home or at my office Avast!, BitDefender 2008, Symantec Corporate Antivirus, and McAfee corporate Antivirus. I just installed Avast! yesterday just for "peace of mind" and I'm damned glad that I did because it immediately popped up about HTML:iframe-gen malware on my websites.
I have enabled e-mail sending whenever someone logs into the root account on my server -- which I believe I received the tutorial from here in the How-To section -- and I did receive an e-mail for the person logging into the root account via SSH, but the IP address and hostname was left blank. Does anyone know why the IP and hostname would be blank? That doesn't mean they were console, does it?

I've recently taken over the hosting of a large site and forum, and I want to use some for of statistics software of service so that I can determine how many unique visitors and pageviews the site and forum get (which can then be used when dealing with advertisers).
I've been using Webalizer for years, but it's not been updated in over 5 years, so it's out. I then stumbled on Awstats, which works great, but... it doesn't calculate the pageviews correctly.
At the present moment Awstats claims to have tracked approx. 2 million pageviews for the (vBulletin) forum. However, when I scroll down I notice that on number #1 in the "Pages URL Top 10" is image.php, which is used for avatars and is not a page!
Now it appears Awstats has two ways of dealing with this: the "SkipFiles" option and the "NotPageList" option. The first (SkipFiles) drops whole URLs from the stats, which isn't what I want: I just don't want them to be counted as pages.
The second (NotPageList) only accepts file extentions, not script names. This again isn't what I want: hits on showthread.php should still be counted as pages, only hits on image.php shouldn't be.
The site has a similar problem where I don't want scripts like stylesheet.php, rss.php and xml.php from being counted as pages.
My question: does anyone know a solution for this problem? Maybe a hack to allow "NotPageList" to accept script names and/or ULRs?
Alternatively: does anyone know another statistics package that's about on par or better than Awstats that can do this (and that works on Linux/Unix with logs generated by lighttpd+php-fastcgi) and that is not too expensive (max $200)?
Google Analytics isn't suitable for me (even though it would probably work well) because the site goes over 5 million pageviews/month and I don't have a Adwords account.

I want to count the traffic for every IP passed through squid proxy server.
Is it possible to record the traffic numbers for every IP in external .txt file

I have suddenly lost all of the websites on the plesk panel server 12.0.18. One of the domains was being used to spam and so I started blocking stuff and removing some of the offending files and folders and the spamming stopped.
However it got to a point where I needed to restart the server and although it was working before the restart, once I did restart it it stopped working. All domains are loading nothing and the access_log looks like nginx or FastCGI is trying to redirect the page somewhere. The bootstrapper repair log file states:
"Details: PHP Warning: include_once(Template/Writer/Webserver/Apache.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory; File: /usr/local/psa/admin/plib/Loader.php, Line: 97"

My one website & all it's sub-domains automatically showing Plesk Default Page . After checking further, I found websites were stopped on the server . I manually started them but after few hours again same status . I repeated the same thing several times but issue not fixed.

After rebooting my server, my websites are no longer working.
If I access the plesk machine on the local network by it's hostname, the default Plesk page shows as expected. Everything on 8443 works too.
All hosted sites do not work. FTP DOES work. This seems limited to an http problem of some sort.

I used so far Nortel switches like Nortel 4550T-PWR, recently few of them died and since they have only 1 year of warranty i'm looking into other options.
To Nortel is this Cisco comparable model Catalyst 3750 (p/n: WS-C3750-48TS-S) or this Catalyst 3560 48 10/100 + 4 SFP IPB Image(p/n: WS-C3560-48TS-S) ? If is some other model please let me know, and i got around 20 nortel switches 2xxx, 4xxx and 5xxx series and at at least once a year one dies is that normal? They are properly installed in server rooms so there is no overheat issue.
And how much warranty Cisco gives on their switches which are comparable to 4xxx and 5xxx series of Nortel.

I am running Plesk Version: 12.0.18 on CentOS.Earlier today my service provider had a massive issue and my server was down for several hours. Upon it being back online i've restarted but now I cannot load any of my pages. I have 10 domains setup and if I ping their name servers or the server IP i get packets received now.
One of my installed domains is [URL] ... now if you try and load this url you get a time out but if you try to access admin page URL....None of the subscriptions are able to load their websites when i type in their URL and well it worked before it went down.

I am creating new sites in my panel and they are only loading the default page.
The IP is pointed correctly or I would not get the default plesk page.
All the other service seem to work ok. I can ftp in and I can edit files with the online file manager.
If I use the preview feature I can see the changes I make to the files, but that is the only way.
I looked in /var/www/vhosts/system/ and the conf files are present.
What else can I check to see why the sites are not working?

I have been a solid cPanel / WHM user for the past 2 years, we have now since downsized our hosting requirements and also wanted to cut our panel costs and so we moved to PLESK 12 Web Edition.The server is on a trial license and has been working fine with no problems for the past 2 weeks. Today all of a sudden none of the websites are accessible, although I can ping all IP's on server and login via SSH.I cannot access any websites or hosting control panel, I have disabled IP tables as this was the cause of a problem last time.
Why this happened was there an update at around 5AM this morning which could have caused this?I have restarted the server, I can successfully ping / resolve address from SSH.
