Plesk 12.x / Windows :: Migration Error - Backup Has Wrong Signature
Apr 27, 2015
When I try to migrate from plesk 11.5 to Plesk 12.0 appears this error "Backup has wrong signature. Restoration prohibited" and migration is not performed . The Plesk 12.0 is a new installation in a new Windows 2012 R2 server.
I am having complains from our clients that their mails are always going to spam folders istead of inbox. I decided to have some tests and find out problems which couse the issue and solve them. We have PTR records correctly, Our IPs and domain names are not listed in any blacklists, And I checked "Use DomainKeys" checkbox for all our domains in mail settings.
These were all good and thought that all works well untill I ran a test on [URL].....
I opened a mail file (.MAI) and copied all content (with headers, contents and all) to that site and got a result like;
pts rule name description ---- ---------------------- --------------------------------------------------- 0.0 RCVD_IN_DNSWL_NONE RBL: Sender listed at http://www.dnswl.org/, no trust [95.108.252.17 listed in list.dnswl.org] 0.0 URIBL_BLOCKED ADMINISTRATOR NOTICE: The query to URIBL was blocked.
[Code] ....
The 3rd line from the last confused me. "Message has a DKIM or DK signature, not necessarily valid" and "DKIM-Signature header exists but is not valid" parts of that report put a question in mind. Does the "Use DomainKeys" checkbox in the Plesk Panel really working? I mean, it creates all the DNS entries and all, but the email message is starting with a line "DomainKey-Status: no signature" and that supports the 2nd line from the last in that report.
The question is, what should I do to make DomainKeys work as it should? I am using the latest 11.5.30 Update #23 of Plesk Panel for Windows on a Windows 2012 Standart server with MainEnable Enterprise Premium. Enterprise version of MainEnable also has DKIM settings available for all the domains in its own panel, but it's disabled because I didn't set anything in there.
All go right, but the Plesk run micro update or check permission add this other account :
- psaadm (Deny All) - psacln (Deny All)
And then persists Software not work in ASP files. If I delete this permission or change to Full Control all work again, but when have a new update all permission was reset and set again Deny All.
While attempting to migrate from previous version of Plesk Panel Windows to current (Windows 2012 R2 with Plesk Panel 12) version, following error appears which stops PMM to proceed further.
Error: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: 'C:ParallelsPleskPMM sessions20141117102120197capability_info'
This error is generated for all subscriptions which we are trying to migrate and above file can indeed be confirmed missing.
I started a migration from HELM3 to Plesk 11.5 for a client. After 12 hours it failed.the error log says ERROR:()Unable to download dump files to local store.
ERROR:()You were not connected because a duplicate name exists on the network. If joining a domain, go to System in Control Panel to change the computer name and try again. If joining a workgroup, choose another workgroup name no other server with this hostname or workgroup exists on our network?
After a server migration, some critical Plesk settings were not copied across, even though the option to backup/restore panel configuration was used. e.g.
skeleton (vhosts.skel folder) php.ini (Program Files (x86)ParallelsPleskAdditionalPleskPHP5* folder) Default site (vhostsdefault folder) health config (Program Files (x86)ParallelsPleskadminconfcustom-health-config.xml) Additional Administrator accounts
Is there a way to get these things to backup and restore that I am doing wrong?
Are there other important settings/data that I have missed from that list? I am still paying to keep the old server in case I discover something else!
Using Plesk Backup & Restore for disaster recovery will lose these settings unless they take extra steps. e.g. I now have a simple batch file that copies these files to a private folder on one of the domains before the daily backup kicks in.
My server has plesk 12 with Ubuntu. The problem I have is that the messages go with a valid domain keys signature, but without the DKIM signature.I'm not using opendkim.
I had a old virtual Server with Ubuntu+Plesk12. I build a new dedicated Server with CentOS6+Plesk12 and migrate all Domains. Now i have a strange problem:
When i upload a file with FTP-User "user1", the file has the permissions Group=psacln & Owner=user1. All is fine, i can see and edit this file in a FTP-Program. But when my website create a file (cache html files or installed plugin folders in wordpress), I can't see, can't edit and can't download this files.
When i login to plesk with the admin account, i can see and edit this files. They have also Group=psacln & Owner=user1 and i can give them 0666 rights but when i login with FTP-User "user1" with my FTP-Program, I didn't see that files?!
We're trying to migrate a Webspace from a 11.5 to a 12.0.18 Plesk host using the Migration Manager. The Webspace contains 4 domains. The main domain of the webspace gets migrated fine, however, all of the "child" domains fail with the following error:
Stderr is Wrong syntax for command's '-webspace-name' parameter. 'webspace-domain.ch' does not match the pattern '/^[[:alnum:]]([[:alnum:]-]{0,61}[[:alnum:]]){0,1}(.[[:alnum:]]([[:alnum:]-]{0,61}[[:alnum:]]){0,1})+$/iu'.
I have this big problem, when I try to create a new signature, it returns me this error (ProtDir_IIS :: update () failed: Add Protected Directory failed: columns SiteId, path are not unique (Error code 1)).
When I click to Backup Manager it gives an error "Error: 'ascii' codec can't decode byte 0xc4 in position 7: ordinal not in range(128)" , now i can't reach backup properties
I'm having this issue when trying to set automatic backups to a separate server:
Cannot export dump file 'Friday_02_05_14_info_1405020913.xml' to 'ftp://Scott@00.000.000.00/Backup/' [Transport error: unable to send directory to repository: Transport error: unable to put local file D:PleskPrivateTemp/repo_transport_tmp_01cf65e52b9bf130friday_02_05_14_1405020913.zip to friday_02_05_14_1405020913.zip: Curl error: Timeout was reached]Click to expand...
I'm having a problem with Plesk Panel 11.0.9 update #64. All other page running perfect. But when I go to "Backup Manager --> Database Backup Repository --> Upload Backup File" then Plesk Panel show error: Internal Server Error 500.0.
Logged into my panel today to run a database backup on a site I'm working on to be confronted with the following:
Unable to backup database 'XXXXXXXXXX' Cannot open backup device 'C:Program Files (x86)ParallelsPleskBackupXXXXXXXXX.co.nzdatabasesXXXXXXXXX-29 est'. Operating system error 5(Access is denied.). BACKUP DATABASE is terminating abnormally.
(Error code 21)
I'm not sure why permissions would change on their own, I'm also not sure how to fix the permissions error. I get the same error on all databases.
PrivateTemp folder appears to have write permissions for Group MSSQLSERVER
I have a Plesk Panel v11.5.30 installed into a Windows Server 2012. Whenever the panel is updated, the filesystem permissions are modified. Group psacln cannot access to several folders like C:Program files, C:Program files (x86), etc. Plesk users connected via Remote Desktop cannot run programs like Internet Explorer or so. Some web apps use Crystal Reports to build reports, and this doesn't work either.
Why does the upgrade process restrict access to these folders? It is possible to modify default permissions applied after panel upgrades?

The data stored in roundcube webmail (like contacts and signatures ), located in the database table "roundcubemail", is not transferred when migrating the whole server, customer or the domain that uses it. Also in the backup server, account, domain this data is not included.
I think it's a real problem if a customer with many mailboxes, who only uses roundcube, needs a backup or wants to migrate to another server. Ok, this data could be exported in rounbcube with a few mouse clicks, but it´s not very comfortable. In my opinion this should be included in the backup and also in the migration process (migration manager).
I am configuring a new Plesk server 12.x based on Linux. I already have a Plesk server in 10.x on Windows and i would like to transfer all the data we have on this one to the new server.
I tried to do a backup of the old server using the web interface but the zip file created was not compatible with the one using Linux.
We successfully migrated web and email from a Plesk 9.3 system to the new Plesk 12.0 system. Afterwards i try to install new extensions and / or try to delete existing extensions and receive the following error:
Die Erweiterung Webserver Configurations Troubleshooter kann nicht entfernt werden: crontabmng failed: /usr/bin/crontab execution failed: "crontabViWP46":11: bad command errors in crontab file, can't install. System error: crontab execution error
Means that i am not able to delete the extension "Webserver Configurations Troubleshooter". But the extension is delete (but not completelly - only a checkbox is shown without entry).
Is something comes with a config of the old server? All works proper until migration.
We have created symlinks, modified some configuration files (Plesk included) and ran domains reconfiguration script (zero domain installed, but just in case the script will do anything else).
After that, we have launched Plesk Migration Wizard (from Plesk 9 to last release).
Everything has worked fine: all domains have been migrated on our new folders (/opt based) and owners has been correctly defined for each domain. The same for MySQL and all mail accounts.
We have checked Apache VirtualHost configured by Plesk Migration Wizard : our new folders are used (/opt).
So all seems to be ok.
But now, all websites (configured with Apache and Apache PHP module) returns 403 Forbidden error.
We have try changing to FastCGI with Apache same error.
We have try changing to full Nginx (PHP and static files), some websites run.
We have checked some KB (112884, 800) but all seems to be good.
Is there any steps we have omitted when we move folders ?
Yesterday I migrated a domain with the migration tool from a Debian 7.6 Plesk 12.0.18 MU35 box to a Debian 7.6 Plesk 12.0.18 MU35 box
This domain have a simple DNS configuration. The A registry for the domain.com was an own IP instead the IP of the server. Rest of the DNS configuration was the same.
After migration the A registry for the domain.com was an own IP too (as expected) but also the A registry for mail.domain.com
Before migration, in the old server:
A domain.com x.x.x.x (own ip) A mail.domain.com y.y.y.y (server ip)
After migration, in the new server:
A domain.com x.x.x.x A mail.domain.com x.x.x.x
The migration had changed the IP for mail.domain.com for the IP of the A registry for domain.com
Very strange. I double-checked it (as the domain in the "old" server was suspended)
Client don´t have access to the control panel, so no changes done.
