All go right, but the Plesk run micro update or check permission add this other account :
- psaadm (Deny All) - psacln (Deny All)
And then persists Software not work in ASP files. If I delete this permission or change to Full Control all work again, but when have a new update all permission was reset and set again Deny All.
I'm trying to set permission for text file which is exists in Program Files (x86)MyFile directory. File should be accessible by psaadm and not accessible for psacln accounts. I've set permissions for psaadm Full Control Allow and for psacln Full Control Deny.
In my PHP script I'm checking file using is_readable function and no matter which user trying to read this file function always returns true (admin or customer account). I tried to find solution in Web but without success so I'd like to ask you about it.
Additionally, I've tried to create Plesk DiskSecurity XML with privileges settings. After Apply this settings privileges are correctly set for my file, but customers still can read this file.
Is there any other way to deny access to this file for customers and resellers?
I have a Plesk Panel v11.5.30 installed into a Windows Server 2012. Whenever the panel is updated, the filesystem permissions are modified. Group psacln cannot access to several folders like C:Program files, C:Program files (x86), etc. Plesk users connected via Remote Desktop cannot run programs like Internet Explorer or so. Some web apps use Crystal Reports to build reports, and this doesn't work either.
Why does the upgrade process restrict access to these folders? It is possible to modify default permissions applied after panel upgrades?
When I try to migrate from plesk 11.5 to Plesk 12.0 appears this error "Backup has wrong signature. Restoration prohibited" and migration is not performed . The Plesk 12.0 is a new installation in a new Windows 2012 R2 server.
I had a old virtual Server with Ubuntu+Plesk12. I build a new dedicated Server with CentOS6+Plesk12 and migrate all Domains. Now i have a strange problem:
When i upload a file with FTP-User "user1", the file has the permissions Group=psacln & Owner=user1. All is fine, i can see and edit this file in a FTP-Program. But when my website create a file (cache html files or installed plugin folders in wordpress), I can't see, can't edit and can't download this files.
When i login to plesk with the admin account, i can see and edit this files. They have also Group=psacln & Owner=user1 and i can give them 0666 rights but when i login with FTP-User "user1" with my FTP-Program, I didn't see that files?!
I have a problem where every folder I ftp onto the server gets given a 700 permission and every file gets a Zero permission. Most of the sites I am adding to this server will be WordPress sites and most of the folders I want to have a permission of 755 and for the files a permission of 644 so my question is how do I change the settings so that any new files ftp'd onto the server get the permission 755 and files get the permission of 644 ?
Compliments about the integration of Fail2Ban. I saw a lot of blocks on different IP addresses that tried to logon to the server. Fail2Ban is setup to monitor SSH, FTP, and some more.
It is however not possible to activate the "plesk-apache" and "plesk-apache-badbot" jails.
I receive the following error when I try to activate the jails:
Cannot activate the selected jails: f2bmng failed: ERROR NOK: ('plesk-apache',) ERROR NOK: (13, 'Permission denied') ERROR NOK: (13, 'Permission denied') ...... ERROR:f2bmng:Command '['/usr/bin/fail2ban-client', 'reload', 'plesk-apache']' returned non-zero exit status 255 ERROR:f2bmng:Failed to reload following jails due to errors in configuration: plesk-apache
When i look into the logfile of fail2ban, i see that there are no permissions for the log files: 2015-01-10 20:14:40,987 fail2ban.comm [19428]: WARNING Command ['set', 'plesk-apache', 'addlogpath', '/var/www/vhosts/system/[domainname]/logs/error_log'] has failed. Received IOError(13, 'Permission denied')
The file permissions are set as following on all the log files: -rw-r--r-- root root
I'd really like to activate Fail2Ban for Apache too.
I've installed the Plesk Panel onto a windows 2008 server. It's all good, web sites are flowing and I'm really happy with the software. The issue I'm having is a customer has an asp site with an access database. After I uploaded their site, they couldn't write to the database, so I had to manually go and set the permission on the database for the "Plesk IIS Anonymous Account (IUSR_xxx)" user to have modify access on the file.
So my question is this, how can I set up the default hosting account to already allow this and so I don't have to go an waste time tweaking the folders manually trying to find the right permissions?
Also, why is it the Plesk IIS Anonymous account that needed to have it's permissions tweaked and not the "Default Plesk application pool user (IWAM_plesk(default))" which is the user who's configured on the application pool in IIS? I can't see where the Plesk IIS Anon user is being used.
I'm SURE this is me being stupid but I cannot find where to change folder permissions in the new Plesk interface?
I go to the file manager but all I have are the basic file/folder operations (Create, Delete, Upload File, etc) - I can't find anywhere to change permissions on the folders to give the MYSERVER_IUSR permission, etc.
This is what you get when you go to this one site on the server in your browser:
Forbidden You don't have permission to access / on this server.
Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
This is a site in a reseller's account. The reseller had suspended it for non-payment. The account owner paid their fees, and the reseller unsuspended it. But now the site can't be reached.
I chowned and chmodded the account, but that didn't fix it.
I own a dedicated server and have installed plesk on it. With the domain, plesk creates an FTP account to use for that domain. When you use that user/pass it only allows access to the
Code: /var/www/vhosts/mydomain/ directory, which is fine.
Now the problem is that the account has very limited permissions. It didn't let me write to any of the folders unless I chmodded them to '777', and now doesn't let me overwrite any files unless I login as root and chmod the individual files to '777'. How can I set this accounts permissions to allow full writing, and reading for everything it has access to? I don't want everything to have full permissions for obvious reasons.
I have a dedicated server with no control panel. I have a main, root FTP account. But now I'd like to create an FTP account with access to just one folder.
For example, I want the FTP account to only be able to view and upload files only to "mysite.com/special/upload"
It would also be nice if the new FTP user could only modify/delete the files that he uploaded.
I am having trouble with setting up an email account to set up the email I go to Mail > Create Email Address > and enter email address (info@example.com) and check the "access to control panel" and create a password and also check "mailbox" .
But in the email client, when I go to use SMTP and I enter the following info:
- SMTP Server: example.com - username: info@example.com - password: password I created above - port 25 - user TLS
I get this error: Your other email provider is responding too slowly. Please try again later, or contact the administrator of your other domain for further information.
My Pink Floyd website has a photo section of rare concert pictures that our members upload. We have about 3,000 of these pictures, that our members upload via an FTP server that is hosted on a simple cPanel web hosting account. Someone logged into the account and not only deleted all the pictures, but uploaded obscene pictures and index.html files to some really nasty stuff.
We delete all the obscene stuff, but before we re-upload all the pictures I need to know...
On a cPanel account is there a way to have the FTP User only able to upload files and not edit/delete/change? Somehow we can edit their permission?
I asked HostGator about this and the ChatTech said this cannot be done, and I was a bit surprised. I could easily do this on my own server, but i'm not sure where to start at the user level.
From admin account there is no problem to create databases.I`ve run bootstrap.sh repair successfully but still not working.Plesk 12.0.18 #55 Ubuntu Linux 10.04
I have one domain who's not create dns in MS DNS server, i try create manuall but after this the record is missing, but on plesk showing, How to fix this ?
I have a problem with one of my user accounts (let's call it testuser) in Plesk. System is Windows Server 2012 R2 with Plesk 12.In the Control Panel, the customer and subscription for testuser are removed, so there should not be any data left for the domain/user.
However, when I want to create a new subscription with the username testuser, Plesk gives the error "User account already exists". I tried to manually remove the domain and took the following steps:
Code: C:Program Files (x86)ParallelsPleskbin>customer --remove testuser An error occurred during removal of customer account: testuser does not exist
C:Program Files (x86)ParallelsPleskbin>webuser --remove testuser The web user with the name 'testuser' does not exist
C:Program Files (x86)ParallelsPleskbin>ftpsubaccount --remove testuser -do main testdomain.tld Unable to remove FTP account: Unable to find service node for web service on dom ain with id=0
C:Program Files (x86)ParallelsPleskbin>database --remove testuser An error occurred during database removal: database does not exist
As described in this topic, I logged in to the MySQL server and tried to remove the user:
Code:
C:Program Files (x86)ParallelsPleskMySQLbin>mysql -P8306 -uadmin -p[admin-pass] psa mysql> g SELECT id FROM `sys_users` WHERE login=`testuser` ERROR 1054 (42S22): Unknown column 'testuser' in 'where clause' mysql> g DELETE FROM `sys_users` WHERE login=`testuser` ERROR 1054 (42S22): Unknown column 'testuser' in 'where clause'
Also, the inetpub/vhosts directory for the user is correctly removed and therefore doesn't exist. Are there any other steps I can take to remove the user manually and so be able to recreate the user?
While server (as whole) is [presumeabily] fully managed by hosting company in their own interest - then what could really go wrong with unmanaged Windows VPS.
When I change an email address on a user's account I get this error?
