Is there a way to run an additional task after the scheduled backup has completed?I want to copy the backup off-site. I can't use FTP, otherwise I'd use the built-in 'Personal FTP Repository' feature. (See Rsync, Amazon S3, Rackspace cloud files, etc)
I could just create a new scheduled task, but the backup takes an unpredictable amount of time, and the tasks need to run sequentially. Also, the 2nd task should only run if the backup succeeds.
I could disable the backups in the control panel and create a new scheduled task that does both the backup and the additional task. But then the functionality of the control panel's Backup Manager page is lost.

I am running Plesk 12 on CentOS 7 64bit. I have set up the server backup instead of the website backup as I assume that will backup all server settings, as well as the website? I am running Plesk Web Admin Edition.
I have the backup set to run and dump into Personal FTP, but it does not run. If I run the backup manually, everything works great, but the scheduled backups don't work.
workaround 1) rpm -q --scripts psa-backup-manager | sed 1d | sh 2) /etc/init.d/crond restart

why do not work after you upgrade the backup cronjobs?
on one of our Plesk-Servers (Plesk 12.0.18 Update 34 on Debian 7.6) the scheduled backup stopped working. Scheduled Backup is active in Backup-Manager, but it's not executed.
I'm having troubles getting the global scheduled backup task to work at Home > Tools & Settings >Backup Manager > Server Repository.
At a subscription the scheduled backup works how it should.
Home > Subscriptions > example.com > Websites & Domains > Server Repository
The problem is as follows: When I set the scheduled task at a specific time example 00:00 it does not run at all. But when I just do "Create a backup" it does work...
I've done [URL] .... and everything in here is configured how it should be.
This is my configuration for scheduled task:
Cronjob is placed in : /etc/cron.d/plesk-backup-manager-task
Also did run: rpm -q --scripts psa-backup-manager | sed 1d | sh
This problem is only in the global backup configuration.
I have an issue with my daily backup. I configured to have a daily backup on an external FTP server. Everything looks to work correctly but in the panel I see that the task is a 100% forever. Never finishing completely.. So the next day, the task is not starting.. I have to remove manually the task in backup manager screen.
here is the last lines of the log file (in /var/log/plesk/PMM/backup-2015-01-20-20-46-02-824)
My Centos server running Plesk12 is running scheduled backups every sunday 3AM.
The backup is configured so that it's created as a multivolume backup with a volume size of 2047MB.
The backup is placed on my Personal FTP repo (another plesk12 server mounted with big storage).
The backup content is configured to backup server config and content (all).
The problem I have is when the backup is running I can see that it creates the volumes and stores it locally. After it send all the volumes the the external FTP repo it will delete the local (tmp) data. See my attached screenshot for storage health during backup.
Is this behaviour normal? This way we can never run a backup to an external FTP repo when our server passed 50% storage. Is it not normal to:
- Create a volume - Send it to FTP repo - Delete volume locally - Repeat until done
I'm new to Parallels Panel. I use version 11.0.9. I want to backup mysql database daily. First of all, what is the best way for daily database backup in plesk. I'm trying to do this in Scheduled Tasks and I use mysqldump command although I'm not sure.
I chose the time and day first and then I switched on the task. I typed the following command to Command line.
This created only a blank file. When I use this without gzip, nothing changes.
1- Is mysqldump right command for database backup? 2- Should I define full path for mysqldump, gzip and database? If so, how can I find out the full path of mysqldump, gzip and my database? Because I can't see their locations in panel. 3- I can't see any error message. There is not any log file in httpdocs folder. Where does the log file exist? 4- It is weird but should the username be "database user" or should I write "root" ?
I have multiple backups stored under server repository (subscriptions --> <domainname> --> website and domains --> backup manager).
The physical files are located at: /var/lib/psa/dumps/clients/904279/domains/<domainname>/
When I click the green arrow to download these files to a local computer (see attached image) I get a new page with title "Download the backup file". On this page I have the option to set a password on the downloaded file, but no matter what I do (password or no password) the file is not downloaded to my local PC. I don't get a pop-up box with the option to save the file. Just nothing happens ...
When I click to Backup Manager it gives an error "Error: 'ascii' codec can't decode byte 0xc4 in position 7: ordinal not in range(128)" , now i can't reach backup properties
I'm having this issue when trying to set automatic backups to a separate server:
Cannot export dump file 'Friday_02_05_14_info_1405020913.xml' to 'ftp://Scott@00.000.000.00/Backup/' [Transport error: unable to send directory to repository: Transport error: unable to put local file D:PleskPrivateTemp/repo_transport_tmp_01cf65e52b9bf130friday_02_05_14_1405020913.zip to friday_02_05_14_1405020913.zip: Curl error: Timeout was reached]Click to expand...
When I try to migrate from plesk 11.5 to Plesk 12.0 appears this error "Backup has wrong signature. Restoration prohibited" and migration is not performed . The Plesk 12.0 is a new installation in a new Windows 2012 R2 server.
I've just migrated server to server but I didn't use the migration manager, I simply backed up each domain's content and restored those backups on the new server.
The issue I have run into is the scheduled tasks at the admin level (Tools & Settings > Scheduled Tasks) work but any schedule task under a domain do not. The scheduled tasks under the domains show as inactive (no green tick) and when I click to enable them, I get the following message
"Information: The scheduled task Google Product Feed Daily Scheduled Task was switched on."
If I then look at the page, even though the above message says it is, the scheduled task is still not enabled. Going into the scheduled task and switching it on there results in the same message, but it doesn't switch on.
How to rebuild all of the scheduled tasks within Plesk?
I'm having a problem with Plesk Panel 11.0.9 update #64. All other page running perfect. But when I go to "Backup Manager --> Database Backup Repository --> Upload Backup File" then Plesk Panel show error: Internal Server Error 500.0.
Logged into my panel today to run a database backup on a site I'm working on to be confronted with the following:
Unable to backup database 'XXXXXXXXXX' Cannot open backup device 'C:Program Files (x86)ParallelsPleskBackupXXXXXXXXX.co.nzdatabasesXXXXXXXXX-29 est'. Operating system error 5(Access is denied.). BACKUP DATABASE is terminating abnormally.
(Error code 21)
I'm not sure why permissions would change on their own, I'm also not sure how to fix the permissions error. I get the same error on all databases.
PrivateTemp folder appears to have write permissions for Group MSSQLSERVER
My server works fine like expected, but isn't uploaded to ftp. It was in 11.0.9, same after upgrading to 11.5.29.
The ftp repository in plesk shows a manually done older backup, so ftp connection seems to be ok.
In ftp repository settings I get an error, if I try to safe anything, ftp server, user and password are correct, manual ftp connection is working fine.
The error is:
Code:
Fehler: FTP-Verbindung fehlgeschlagen. Bitte überprüfen Sie Ihre FTP-Einstellungen. drwx---r-x 2 b088598 cust 4096 Jun 17 06:01 . drwxr-xr-x 3 b088598 cust 4096 Jun 17 06:01 .. drwx---r-x 2 b088598 cust 4096 Jun 17 06:01 . drwxr-xr-x 3 b088598 cust 4096 Jun 17 06:01 ..

I've generated migration files on a source server that runs plesk11.5..I've transfer these files to my new server (plesk 12).I've logged into plesk on the new server, go to migration tool and create a new migration using local files.with chrome dev tools. i can see the following a post request is sent to :
/plesk/ server/migration/start/ the response is a redirection ( http status 303 , location = /admin/backup/restore/type/import/id/migration )a
After several attempts to this url I've got : admin/backup/restore/type/import/id/migration net::ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS..is there a way to restore the data using the command line ?
keep a local and remote backup of certain subscriptions or at least have a full server backup on FTP.
I have a livedrive.com reseller account which allows be to quite cheaply add 512GB of remote storage accessible through SFTP, FTP and WebDAV. I created this partition and added it as a server-level FTP repository in Plesk 12 (latest build). During testing I added a firewall exception for traffic on the FTP IP-address and figured that I had to put the FTP repository in passive mode to properly connect.
After setting this up I ran a configuration only backup to test if everything was working properly. The backup was created properly and can be accessed through the FTP as well: success!
My second test was running a full server backup through the manager. The ±40GB file was created properly (I could see my disk usage increase and decrease through new relic monitoring) and supposedly transferred to the FTP repository according to Plesk.
When I look at the FTP or the Plesk Backup Manager both indicate that the full server backup is 0kb in size.
After this issue I figured: I really don't care about a full server backup, I mostly care about a specific set of subscriptions that have new content on a daily basis and need to be backed up properly as well. Those subscriptions are already on a daily or weekly backup scheme that places backups on the local repository.
What I would eventually like to do is create daily or weekly backups on the local repository and create weekly or monthly backups on the FTP repository for those specific subscriptions, but unfortunately you cannot (by default) setup Plesk to automatically backup to local and remote based on different or even the same intervals.
And this is the more important question: How to be able to create/setup a backup automation that keeps local and remote backups for the same or different intervals? Either through the Plesk interface, a plugin or a script?
Running Plesk 12 on CentOS 6.6
Update:
Just tried running the same server wide backup, but this time as a multivolume backup. This resulted in the following error:
I have a plesk 11.0.9 on a windows server 2008 R2 which has MailEnable. One of my customers faced a problem to send emails from one of his local mailboxes to another of his local mailboxes! He got this error:Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients. The following recipient(s) cannot be reached.Server error: '550 Requested action not taken: mailbox unavailable or not local'
But we are sure the recipient mailboxes exist and work fine!I checked this link: URL....It dosen't work for this case.
I have a client that is running backup exec. They have 2 scheduled jobs in the system. One of them runs, and one does not.
It is skipping over the job. If you watch the timer for the backups, it counts down, 2 mins, 1 min. Then jumps to 60 mins. No errors or anything reported in the logs.
Again, the other backup job runs perfectly fine and a manual job runs as well.
