Does anyone have specific contact information for apple.com or mac.com postmasters? I've tried the standard postmaster/hostmaster addresses at both domains, with no response/autoresponders, etc. One of the IPs in our servers seems to be blocked, but can't find anywhere how to contact their postmaster.
Which is the most commonly used to contact the owner of a domain (if say the whois info is private, or the owner just isn't checking their mail in the whois email)?
When I client gets set up in Plesk, I want to create a postmaster@domain.com and abuse@domain.com, can these just be aliases? If so where dod they need to point? I noticed in MediaTemple hosting when a new client gets set up they have these as aliases pointing to 'root' anyone know how do to this? Or have much expereince in this area?
How do you handle your postmaster and abuse addesses for each of your shared hosting accounts? I obviously dont want to receive them all as root and i dont have catchall accounts enabled. I was thinking about setting up aliases to point to their cpanel username account, but i dont know about you, but i hate those accounts and i highly doubt my clients are going to ever check them. These addresses seem to be high targets for spam as well. I have an anti-spam solution, but high volume targets still let a bit of spam through.
I couldn't find any info on it so I thought I would ask. Does Apple have any sort of market share for production web servers? Or any other types of servers?
Does anyone know how many amps the current Apple Xserves use under heavy load? Use the default configuration for a base on that. I'm looking at co-locating one and I have no idea what I need in terms of power for the server.
I've a box running Linux Plesk 12.0.18 + Postfix and hosting mydomain.com. Email service is hosted by an external provider.
The problem is that I can't write to postmaster@mydomain.com because Postfix tries to deliver it locally.
What I've already done:
Configured MX record on DNS to point the external provider's server. Disabled mail service for the TLD from plesk panel or with: /usr/local/psa/bin/mail --off mydomain.com
The problem still remains.
I think I'm facing on Plesk 12 the same problem described here and elsewhere on this forum for Plesk 9: [URL]
I would like to know in what ways a Mac server better than conventional LAMP or WAMP servers. Will i be able to install some type of control panels on servers running Mac.
I have some quotes to buy it, but if its performance is better then i will go for it.
Searched the internet but couldn't find enough information. Some names of big websites using mac servers would also be useful information.
What I really want to do is. Host anime for download for a monthly fee of about $10.00.
I'm currently deployed in Iraq and have been saving up my money. I can get this for a little cheaper with a 10% military discount. I will need to find somewhere to colocate it. My question is what do you think of this server and is there a better alternative that I can build for cheaper. I really like apple products and don't mind spending the money on it. Does this sound like a bad idea? I figure if I get enough members the server will pay for it's self over time. What would be a good place to colocate so my members would get good download speeds? Can I start a small business and get this server that way with taxes or something? Like a media business or something?
I am having a problem with a client who's using Mail.app and it seems to be sending invalid packets to the server. Here is a sample of the report from the firewall:
The report just says Invalid IN. Does anybody have any suggestions on what would be causing this? I use Mail.app myself and have never had problems with it triggering the firewall.
I registered a domain name and setup a Linux server on GoDaddy, choosing Plesk panel with Power Pack. Inside the panel I created an email address, which I can access from the webmail interface without problems. I decided to setup my clients as well, using the IMAP configuration, as I'm using multiple devices.
I followed the instructions for Outlook express and I was able to setup the account on my virtual machine, with Windows 7 and Windows Live Mail.Though, speaking of the host machine, a MacBook Pro, I normally use Apple Mail that comes with MacOS. Instructions for setting up Mail are updated back to Snow Leopard at least and they do not work properly. I tried various configurations, but I was only able to receive mail on the account, while sending won't work at all.
I'd like Parallels to update the guide or, at least, to open a KB page with the solution(s) to this issue: I googled it and found out that it is a common issue.
the matter is kind of important and i dont want to discuss it in this thread, but i could not find a contact e-mail on the website. only phone numbers. so I know eurovps people are on this site, can one of them pm me and we can get in contact?
looking for any kind of help on how to contact spamhouse. They have banned IP addresses that m using on my server, and ve been trying to contact them for 4 months already to resolve this issue and got no response.
how to contact Teleglobe? I have sent a message to hostmaster@teleglobe.net already, waiting if someone answers. Their node in Hongkong is working like crazy. Traceroute from the US to my country shows up to 3800ms, meanwhile it's around 250-300ms usually
9 if-3-0.core1.HK2-HongKong.teleglobe.net (116.0.93.17) 198.109 ms 198.059 ms 198.124 ms 10 * ix-4-7.core1.HK2-HongKong.teleglobe.net (216.6.95.6) 3878.938 ms 3850.810 ms
I'm having trouble with dreamhost at the moment. From 7pm PST my site was down and it is till now which is 10 hours and i'm losing money
I've message them 4 time throught the support email thing but they haven't replied.
the problem i'm having with my website strange, i get this error message
Service Temporarily Unavailable

but if i press refresh it does the job, some of the content inside work but some does and it will give you that text again. Anyone suggest what is the reason for this? My other friend who are hosted with dreamhost are fine but accept me. maybe it's on a differnet server that's why but if my site is down i'm expecting to lose around 300usd .
Does, by chance, a SteadCom representative visit this forum?
The problem: I can't receive a new password to the client area (no email is sent from SteadCom after I use 'forgot password' feature), the VDS I had is I suppose suspended and I have no means neither to access the user cpanel to pay/renew, nor to use live talk with support - the link on the site does nothing.
We have been dealing exclusively with Dell, but are looking into HP as well now. How aggresive can they be in their pricing? At what price volume will they start to be very aggresive?
Does anybody has a good HP sales contact that they can share? Looking for 50-100 of their lower end server (DL120).
Is anybody able to get me in touch with Poundhost ? We can't seem to log on to the customer portal - and nobody are answering the phones there. Our server has been down for almost an hour now - I need somebody done immediately.
Anyone have any alternative wiresix contact data? I have a ticket open with them marked "urgent" and haven't had a response in over an hour. It should be noted this is very unlike them.
I was along time customer of Hostnetway. And as you may know, they been gone for long time now. Most of my sites were still up on their servers so I stayed hoping they would come back. I lost one site's database somehow. But figured I could rebuild and be ok.
Well they haven't came back. So I moved my sites to new host. But I am still getting billed by hostnetway auto billing. There is no contact avenue open to contact them to cancel.
What shold I do? Do I call my lawyer and have them look into taking this to courts? I refuse to keep paying for a service that mysteriously has no owner, no services, no customer support, and no way out.
Should I contact the host or the registrar if the two are separated?
I've received a lot of blog spam lately where someone seems to have hacked certain setups of Joomla that also have a wordpress blog and then installs landing pages for his spam in the wordpress blog. Granted the person on the other end of my complaint is innocent but I just want the frickin Spam to stop.
When we try to browse domain.com get below error. ============================================== CWebsite.GetWebServerName error '80040403' Unable to get web server name. Please try again or contact support. /interfaces/standard/SiteProperties.asp, line 139 ==============================================
My Webhost suddenly does not allow php contact forms! Instead, they expect me to change all forms on 16 sites hosted by them to use a phpFormMail solution they provide. It's a real hassle.
