I think my server underwent a DDoS attack a couple weekends ago. Anywho, I get over 300 CRON emails with this error in it, they were supposed to be sent over the several weeks, I Hard-rebooted my server and it then finally sent all those emails at once. Running Debian 7.8. The email said this:
I just want to remove plesk and installed again. i saw (URL...) this page. use this code but plesk not removed. my sites are gone.how can i get back my site? what i should install. When i try install plesk 12 says you already install version 11.0.9
We have created symlinks, modified some configuration files (Plesk included) and ran domains reconfiguration script (zero domain installed, but just in case the script will do anything else).
After that, we have launched Plesk Migration Wizard (from Plesk 9 to last release).
Everything has worked fine: all domains have been migrated on our new folders (/opt based) and owners has been correctly defined for each domain. The same for MySQL and all mail accounts.
We have checked Apache VirtualHost configured by Plesk Migration Wizard : our new folders are used (/opt).
So all seems to be ok.
But now, all websites (configured with Apache and Apache PHP module) returns 403 Forbidden error.
We have try changing to FastCGI with Apache same error.
We have try changing to full Nginx (PHP and static files), some websites run.
We have checked some KB (112884, 800) but all seems to be good.
Is there any steps we have omitted when we move folders ?
if there is a general rule of thumb on the amount of web sites can be loaded onto an Apache server which has 4Gb RAM and RAID. Each site will utilize one database, of about 5 Mb max. Preferably CPanel, else is there something else recommended for managing lots of sites?
Can I conceivably get 1000 sites per server or more?
What/where in httpd.conf do i tweak to allow more files to be open?
We are getting an error every time that i try to add a new IP on Plesk panel. I go to "Tool and settings" than "IP address", "Add ip address" on fields i already try to ip:
xx.xx.xx.xx/32 and xx.xx.xx.xx/submask
every time that i click on OK, the button become loading an never finish....
After a fresh install on a Debian Wheezy system, I get the following error(s) when trying to access the control panel.
https://sub.example.com:8443/ 404 Not Found Nginx

I have a Plesk 12 server running that works great. But the problem is that whenever one of my shared hosting customers changes something out a domain or subdomain, all the other sites on the server give a 502 error.
The reason why is clear to me: apache is reloading its config while nginx is still active, but sees apache as being down and therefor throws a 502 error.
Is there any way to prevent this from happening? Because it's happening a lot and people are sending in 'site down' reports while there's actually nothing wrong with the server or their site.
Everytime I try to see the bandwidth in the reseller panel, i got this failure:
Code: "Proxy Error The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server. The proxy server could not handle the request GET /reseller/services/bandwidth/show_bandwidth. Reason: Error reading from remote server"
I already restarted epld, httpd, named, and mysql daemons and the error stills...
I have a V-Server account with Strato and just upgraded to 12.0.18 through the panel updater. The installation completed successfully, at least the installer gave me no error.
After the installation I tried to login and got the following error (I wasn't able to enter my credentials..):
Which worked and I could now login. The Panel opened with the following error:
I can access certain areas of the panel without error (i.e. tools and settings etc, but I get the error when I try to access the control panel for single domains etc...)
For some reason I am having issues with latest Plesk with php and wordpress. HTML sites are fine, but all php and wordpress sites are giving a 502 error after fully migrating. I repaired with Webserver Configurations Troubleshooter and rebooted and its still giving me the same issue. Also, noticed my previous server had php 5.4.36, the new CentOS server has 5.4.37.
I just switched to a new server - I went from a Dual Opteron 248 with 3GB of RAM to a Dual Clovertown with 4GB of RAM. Yet, despite having mild traffic right now, my load is rather high and my memory usage is like 80% (which is ridiculous, since that would mean I would be maxing out on the old box).
For some reason, my servers usually lose access when I get around 400 people on TEXT-BASED, non-MySQL pages? How is that possible? I have really solid servers, yet people running basic Pentiums with 1 or 2GB never run into this issue.
Is there any good, cheap site that would be able to properly optimize mySQL and Apache to lower the load and figure out why the memory usage is so high? Platinum Server Management never really got this done, so even though they're great for other support issues, please don't recommend them.
I'm using Plesk 11 in a Ubuntu 12.04 Linux environment on a remote dedicated server. I am NOT trying to upgrade to Plesk 12. But, every time I log onto the panel, I get the error message shown on the subject line. Afterward, it says, "To solve this problem, send an update log to Parallels support." I have the update log ... but "where" to send it. Is there an email address? A webpage?
the Error Code is :SQLSTATE[HY000]: General error: 1030 Got error -1 from storage engine Knowledge base says I am out of storage but I am not .But the output of command df -h returns this:
Restarting sw-cp-server doesn't shows any error. However , I was getting some problems with mysql socket and I wasn't able to use the plesk still then currently a custom installation of phpmyadmin lets me access the databases but I can't access any of my websites either (Wordpress). Apache returns 504 Gateway Error .
I have experiencing strange behaviour of Plesk admin panel. Actually there were a lot of issues similar with 500 Internal Server error but mine is a bit different..
This is the log came from the '/var/log/sw-cp-server/error_log'
As you can see there is a line starts with /bin/sh: /usr/share/sw-cp-server/applications-conf.sh: Permission denied and i tried to change this one for permission like 0755 or alternatives for a run but nothings changed. Btw i have plenty of disk space, it wasn't also the case.
I cannot even login with my domain name without 'https' and with the port 8880. It's again giving me the same issue.
BTW i want to give a little extra information; it was a long time that Plesk admin panel working but after today it's stuck in 500 Internal server error. What i tried today that to follow 'How to generate custom self-signed SSL certificates and apply it to Postfix: [URL] ....' , but after 6th step i was decied to stop because i couldnt find the root.pem file a minute and than i wanted to try on plesk and i saw the bad news I don't know it was related but i wanted to share.
I'm unable to access my plesk control panel .its giving this error "Unable to read Control Panel configuration file";tried all available solution for permissions but the problem remains.
We have several sites on one server. When I use the plesk wordpress manager it some how updates the User and Group permissions on folders and files with the username apache. How or what command do I run to get it to use the site username and psacln. It appears something maybe in an update or whatever has caused this issue. This only occurs with wordpress and drupal updates from the plesk interface.
What command can I run just to update the permissions to update all users to a username and psacln security settings on folders and directories.Running Plesk 12.0.18 and CentOS7
Usually everything has been working fine with this .htaccess-file until today. There hasn't been any change on the system.
If you click on the hyperlink to the restricted area the login window appears where you need to type in your username and a password. After typing in these data the following message appears in the browser:
500 Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfigruation and was unable to complete your request. (…)
The apache error log file contains the following message:
Request exceeded the limit of 10 sub request nesting levels due to probable configuration error.
Use 'LimitInternalRecursion' to increase the limit if necessary. Use 'LogLevel debug' to get a backtrace.
The increase of the LimitInternalRecursion does not solve the problem. So I switched the LogLevel in the httpd.conf file from warn to debug and looked again on the entries of the error log.
The following appeared (I have replaced ip addresses, usernames and URL by xyz or <URL>) :
Code:
[error] [client xyz] mod_digest_apple: Client is using a nonce not issued by this server for this context:/rb/Vorlesung/WS12/Downloads/, referer: http:<URL>
I indicated that I've basically been using my webhosting company as "file storage".
1) I create all my files in .html using notepad
2) My files are limited to .html, .jpg, .gif, (and a couple of .js and .css) files.
3) My domain is not connected with my webhost; I use the nameserver zoneedit.com and I use URL forwarding and mask/cloak the domain the address bar (using multiple domains) as follows:
domain1.com --> forwards to [url]
domain2.com --> forwards to [url]
domain3.com --> forwards to [url]
4) For uploading files, I go to ftp://123.456.78 and drop/drag/copy/paste files into the window using my browser
5) I'm able to password protect the subdirectories as I choose.
---------------
I called my webhost, Hostik, and told them that I was unable to do anything on my web console. I can't change a password, create a user, or even access my usage/bandwidth quotas.
They told me that I'm on an "old server" using the windows-based console (probably C-Panel / Control Panel) and they're in the process over the next three months of transfering everyone over to "Plesk".
So, they set me up with a new Plesk account, while keeping the old one in place, so that I could move/transfer my files to the Plesk account.
When I went to Plesk, I realized things are not the same:
1) In my Control Panel / C-Panel, I had a unique IP URL Address - [url]
2) In Plesk, it seems there's a set IP URL Address - [url] - that everyone shares.
3) I was told that in Plesk, many people use that IP URL address and that I'm supposed to place my files into the "httpdocs" folder.
Appearently, this is a system of shared hosting whereby many people have the same IP URL address (different from what I had before) and it recognizes each account by the login or something, so the "httpdocs" folder would identify my domain.
I was then told that in Plesk, I must have my domain affixed to the Plesk account.
In other words, I can no longer do what I was doing before, having my domain separated in another location and using URL forwarding from an outside nameserver.
--------------------------
So, my original question is what's the difference between Plesk vs. C-Panel/Control Panel?
Perhaps I answered most of it above.
Is it correct that I can't do things the way I've been doing them so far if that's the case?
It might be that Plesk is not for me and I may need to find a host that gives me my own unique IP URL Address. However, I was informed that not many companies are doing that as most are switching over to Plesk.
In addition, Hostik does not offer multiple domains.
In response to this thread, David recommended I try synhosting.com
synhosting.com has "Multiple Websites". I assume this means mulitiple domains. Correct?
What's my best option at this point?
1) Find a host that has C-Panel / Control Panel (if any there are)?
2) Use a service such as synhosting.com and move all my domains over to them?
3) If I do use synhosting.com, am I required to move my domains over to their nameservers?
4) I have my MX Mail records pointing to Fastmail.fm for my email virtual domains. Would I still be able to do this if my domain is dedicated to a webhost and opt not to use their email feature?
5) Should I get rid of this old-school thought of using my web host as "file storage" and stop this practice of using URL forwarding and cloaking?
How can I analyze apache error log on linux server ? I need to analyze it on the server because some issue caused that its size for today is 1.2GB!! and it's impossible to go over it line by line.
since i take server i got a lot of errors on my apche logs when i post this command on my shell:-
Code: tail -f /usr/local/apache/logs/error_log will coming a lot & fast error and not stop until i stop the apache:-

every thing is ok but i need to remove this error and i can't under stand from where comming ! "/usr/local/apache/htdocs"
I've been having some trouble with Apache 2.0 recently. Whenever I load somewhere between 200 and 230 virtual hosts into Apache's config (as per my hosting control panel), Apache will fail to restart when the command "apache2ctl restart" is run. The command "/etc/init.d/apache2 restart" fails as well. All it does is signal all child processes of Apache to be terminated and fail to start again.
Here's what the log has to say:
Code: [Tue Nov 13 19:04:18 2007] [notice] SIGHUP received. Attempting to restart [Tue Nov 13 19:04:18 2007] [notice] seg fault or similar nasty error detected in the parent process Is it that Apache is too bloated with vhosts to restart or is it something else?
I'm having a serious problem with Apache 2.0.54. I'm running Debian Sarge (3.1) and I cannot upgrade Apache (easily) so I am stuck using 2.0.54 (2.2+ are not supported on Sarge). I have been trying everything with config changes and different tweaks but Apache is giving me lots of trouble. Whenever I run "apache2ctl restart" Apache will crash and will not start. But when I run "apache2ctl start" Apache will run and in the log, it simply puts "[warn] pid file /var/run/apache2.pid overwritten -- Unclean shutdown of previous Apache run?". I get nothing else before or after I run those commands. Running "apache2ctl graceful" starts messing with it giving me "apache2 <defunct>" errors and "apache2ctl configtest" gives me nothing except "Syntax OK."
Here is my "apache2.conf" file:

I am on the end of my rope with Apache and feel like just formatting the server and reinstalling Apache. Which reminds me, I did try using apt-get to remove and install Apache again but nothing worked.
Today I check few of my websites folder under my web server I found that most of the folders contains the file "error_log" at some folders it is in smaller size but in others its around 600-900 MB in size per file. My question is
1. Whether its wise to stop creation of that file by Apache? If yes then how to stop it?
2. Second question is can we stop it for only few websites?
3. And is that safe to delete error_log file? If yes how to search that file in SSH and how to delete it using one command as it would be really hard to delete one by one from each folder.
the above commands will first find all files and list them, the next one will find all files and remove them, the last will confirm that all the error log files have been deleted.
