Cpsrvd Failed @ ... Failure Reason: Unable To Connect To Port 2086
I have tried everything I know (I know not much)
I have rebooted it multiple times. I have terminated lots of account and now I have only 2 or three accounts.
I have removed all the fishy scripts. Done everything I can.
But it just becomes un responsive within a minute of re booting.
Its a Pentium 4 Single Core server.
1GB Ram and 160GB harddisk with cpane+WHM.
I get error
cpsrvd failed @ Thu Dec 11 19:50:43 2008. A restart was attempted automagically.
Failure Reason: Unable to connect to port 2086
I cannot even connect to server because within minutes the server hangs.

I am receiving a lot of cpsrvd emails every day and I am unsure how to stop this error. I have read somewhere that a possible cause is that there is no space left on the server. I do have a warning in my WHM next to "Disk /dev/hda6 (/) DMA+ 86 %". Could this be a possible cause of the problem? UK Users Unable To Connect To One Of My Websites
I've been getting a lot of complaints today on my forum that users cannot view their websites which are subdomains on a seperate domain that I own. It makes no sense why they would have access to the forums which is on the same dedicated server, using the same IP, and with the same nameservers as the site they cannot access. This issue started last night out of nowhere. Where should I even start looking? It appears to only be with overseas users since none of the US and Canadian users have any issues with either domains or their subdomains.

20% Of People Unable To Connect To My Site
I just switched to a new server last month and Im having a problem where a lot of my members and even some of my mods are unable to connect to my website. They are just getting a page cannot be displayed error. The website is ftascene(dot)com. Is everyone here able to connect to the site, and any idea why not everyone would be able to connect?

Unable To Connect With Wireless Router
I have not been able to connect to my server via browser, ftp or email since my server had a OS reload & security package installed. If I disconnect and remove my wireless router I can access the server directly from the modem. When the Linksys WRT54G is connected I can go anywhere on the net with no problems, except my server. Is there something they might have done at the server to block wireless router access? I get a timed out message when I ping any of the IP's on the server with the wireless router connected. Linksys has been of no help and I have talked with Clearwire who owns my modem.

Yesterday I had to install a renewed SSL Certificate. Managed to get it installed, in Plesk under domains/www_mydomain_com, but I also deleted the default SSL from the server/certificates area... So then I was getting an dns 500 error when browsingour site and I could not start httpd from within plesk. Went in through SSH and tried to start it from there and got and error stating it could not find the SSLCA cert it was looking for. So I edited my httpd.include file to point to my new certificate. Now http works, but my email has stopped? What gives how could the two be related! Unable To Connect Via SSH With Centos5 X64
I have been struggling with a couple of new servers that we want to run Centos 5 on. For a second assume that is our desire so going back to 4.x isn't an option yet. Now while I mention Centos 5, the problem seems to be with PAM and x64. When trying to login to the server via ssh, the login succeds but then immediately kicks the user out. I have tried this with root and another user created. I have set the UsePam option to no to try to resolve this in sshd_config. Unable To Connect To Local Httpd Server.
When i go to my website or any page under the domain it's just white. Blank nothing, nada. "Failed to receive status information from Apache. Unable to connect to local httpd server." This error message appears when i click on "apache status". Is this because of the network issue? Or is it because of something I did myself? How To Configure A Firewall To Let Only Exim Connect Via Port 25
Alright now this is the most intelligent way to send spam I have ever seen. Apparently a guy has made a PHP or Perl script that is acting as an MTA. That's right: He is neither using Sendmail nor Exim but he made a script that acts as an MTA. That means the script itself connects to third party mailservers via port 25 and communicates with the remote mailserver as if it was an MTA itself. This works even if Exim is entirely disbaled... The spam still get's sent. The script is running only occasionally...not like a daemon. So it is nearly impossible to locate it. You have no Exim logs to look at. And in the Apache logs any PHP script could be it... You are not able to find that out. Therefore I am unable to stop him unless I manage to block outgoing connections to another host's port 25 for any program but for exim. How can I configure my firewall (APF) so that only Exim my connect to other servers via port 25? Is that even possible?

I have searched google and these forums for this error but nothing came up that was relevant to me as i have not changed any server configurations what so ever at all, have not done ANYTHING to my server accept use the wget command since i got the server. When i type the urls in normal in a browser they work fine. Cpsrvd & MySQL Is Failing
I using PSM (for MGT) & Cyberwurx (hosting) and we're having a heck of time getting our server up and running. HISTORY: Our server ran fine for years. Cyberswurx was very responsive and PSM solved every issue. Last week, a hacker accessed our server through an "calender" script and was able to deface the index.html pages of all the accounts and setup redirects. We had Cyberwurx reinstall WHM/CPANEL and had the server cleaned of all corrupt files. PSM restored all the accounts on WHM. PROBLEM: 1. CPSRVD is constantly failing. 2. When we restart MYSQL server, the server become overloaded. 3. Then it goes offline. Cyberwurx will reboot the server. Then we start over again... Platinum Server Mgt has worked on this since last Wed. We are constantly going back and forth between PSM & Cyberwurx.

Did Port 80 Port To 7080, But Not Working When Login
I have an office internal website and I opened a port in the gateway of my office (7080) to this website (server )'s 80 port. That makes this website open to public as office has static IP. And then when I view the site from home . it's fine. But when I tried to login, the site is using a pop-up, I guess it's http authentciation, login, I was redirected to a url without my port number any more, that stops my access to the site as obviously I would. Reason For High DNS TTL
Is there a reason to set a high TTL for DNS? Like the standard is a few days.I set mine to 10 minutes. So whenever I do a change its propagated within 10 minutes. Is there a reason this would be bad? Server Going Slow For No Apparent Reason
I have a dual processor, dual core server with 12GB memory.. It uses less than 4% CPU utilization and less than 5% memory utilization, but for some reason It's really slow to load sites... Is The Bandwidth The Reason Server Prices Are High Or
Like if you try to make your own server, it would cost a few thousand right? Or bought one from IBM or something. If you rent a server, it could cost you like double that I notice or even more in a period of a year. I was looking at the prices of Xeon 5420 and they are like only 400 or something. Motherboard, ram, hdd's shouldn't amount to too much right? And companies are charging like 50 bucks a month for a 2 gigs of ram. Or am I actually looking at this wrong and actually am looking at desktop components? So is bandwidth the cost for these prices? In the long run aren't people being ripped off?

Trace Reason For Spike Load On Shared Server
I have a shared server (root access) using Cpanel / Centos with suphp enabled. Twice this week the sever's load skyrocketed and was unable to login to trace teh cause, had to reboot instead. After reboot, I went to whm > CPU/Memory/MySQL Usage and saw nothing in red aside netstat (21% cpu). I'm not sure if this is the cause, but how can I trace the absolute user or script causing this spike?

Slackware Linux Machine Hangs For No Apparent Reason
I have a dedicated machine collocated at some hosting provider and after a while (14 days or so, but timeframe is not constant) it hangs for no apparent reason. It happened 2 times already. Nothing in the logs (it logs everything), nothing at all. Before the commission the machine was running for a month without any problems. The first time it happened the tech guy plugged in monitor and keyboard and could not see anything on the display. Before that machine was not loaded with any traffic, nobody should have actually known it is there (except for some DNS traffic). It took some 20 days of uptime. The second time it happened was yesterday, after some 15 days of uptime. I suspect hardware malfunction because I have 2 "identical" (OS & progs, not the hardware) systems running without any problems. It is an HP DL380 G5 machine, the problematic one.

New Hard Drive Deleted Over 1200 Videos For No Reason
I got a new hard drive. After just completing the wonderful instructions on how to rename video files on the server, the new hard drive has just "misplaced" over 1200 of my exclusive videos! MySQL Query Doing Odd Things - Removing Negative Sign For No Apparant Reason
I've got a problem with an SQL query that is behaving badly. Its probably really obvious, but I can't see the problem! I have a table with 3 fields: Code: money bigint(20) income int(12) userID mediumint(7) I have a row that has a negative money and a value of 0 for income. When I update the money value to add "0" to it, nothing happens (as expected). When I update the money field to add the income field (which is equal to 0) to it, MySQL flips the sign to make the money field positive. The Planet Failure
I was hosted with these guys for well over 2 years, and was spending on average more than $2,000.00 a month for servers. I had slowly grown to well over 10 boxes, and was definately on my way. then one day I get a spam complaint that one of my serves was casing complaints. So I checked it out, and asked for the complaints to be relayed so I would have record of it..... nothing.... I responded and even tried to call, but at that point they had sent me a tciket stating. We have recieved well ofer 1000 spam complaints from a server you lease with us, per out TOS we are terminating ALL OF YOUR SERVERS, and you have 15 days to remove the data! WOW... there was no ability to have them terminate that server, they simply said NO your account will be terminated (all of your servers) and you will be banned from The Planet! When I tried to call they said your not allowed to speak with the abuse dept, again I tried contacting my account manager, and he said he checked into it and only saw a few complaints, and didn;t understand why they were doing this... In short I barely got moved over to another provideer before they shut me down completely..... They did however offer one course of action... you could turn your dedicated server clients over to us so they dont have to move! THEY ACTUALLY SAID THIS! I at that point made the move and then they hit my credit card for another month well short of 20 days before a bill would even be due.. I had to file charges at the local courthouse to get this reversed. My advice, if you host at the planet dont send mail. get another server provider for mail, these guys are *&^)(* and they don;t care about shutting you down no matter what you spend with them, on top of that they will try to scarf your clients up if they can, after they leave you high and dry.... Anyone else have issues like this with anyone else. I want to compile a list of providers that do business like this so I can avoid them.

Probably nothing new. Seriously, they're horrible and everyone here probably knows it. But... I'm ticked, so I'll add something extra to show how genius they are. The problem is I can't seem to reach my website on godaddy. It appears as if the server is down. Both via the browser and ftp it fails. Anyway, I could write a review but no need... I'll let the e-mail I sent them and their responses do the talking. Okay, thanks for the information... I'm still humored that needing my pin is actual security considering it's listed on your website after I login. My password is way better security because it's never visible anywhere... anyway... based on the information you gave me here's what I have found out.. The first instance of me not being able to reach the website was around noon EST yesterday. Earlier that morning I was on the website and had logged in via FTP. After noon the website was no longer reachable. This is a test from one computer. Around 6PM on a different network, the website was reachable from 3 different computers, including the one it wasn't reachable from earlier that day. About 30 minutes later the website became unreachable again. Attempts to reach it from all 3 machines failed. This morning, I considered your response email and assuming the webserver is up like you stated, I decided to try another network. The website was up on that network. However, it is still down on the other two networks. It seems that the website works for a limited time on each network before something happens to keep the network from reaching the webserver. Reboot Failure
so my server dies every day and requires human intervention to fully restart all service to have my site work properly. i suspect sigterm issues as it fails to restart all service as website is still down so i always have to reboot it. Raid 5 Failure
just a 4 drive raid 5 array go down, this is hardware based, controller indicates a 2 drive failure. It is possible to rebuild this array from the 2 good drives? Thing is that drives come up fine in test system when testing in spinrite which show no problems, though only 2 show partition structure others just come up as empty!

Mysql Failure
I have had sporadic mysql failures. Cpanel/WHM successfully restarts it and I am notified via e-mail and text message, but I have yet to be able to determine what is causing the failure. From what I can tell nothing is logged ether by cpanal, mysql or the system about the failure. My questions is can cpanel or mysql be configured to log what the issue is? I have the max connections for mysql and apached limited to match the servers capacity.

Raid 10 Failure
I had a server built and it is now at the data center. It is working great. I have a Raid 10 question concerning what would happen if one of my hard drives failed. I have a 3ware 9550SX card. If one of my drives fails and I install a new one with it automatically rebuild on it own? Someone I know mentioned to me that I need IPMI, KVM override B for it to do this and that I would also have to have software installed fore this to work.
