20% Of People Unable To Connect To My Site
I just switched to a new server last month and Im having a problem where a lot of my members and even some of my mods are unable to connect to my website. They are just getting a page cannot be displayed error. The website is ftascene(dot)com. Is everyone here able to connect to the site, and any idea why not everyone would be able to connect?

UK Users Unable To Connect To One Of My Websites
I've been getting a lot of complaints today on my forum that users cannot view their websites which are subdomains on a seperate domain that I own. It makes no sense why they would have access to the forums which is on the same dedicated server, using the same IP, and with the same nameservers as the site they cannot access. This issue started last night out of nowhere. Where should I even start looking? It appears to only be with overseas users since none of the US and Canadian users have any issues with either domains or their subdomains.

Unable To Connect With Wireless Router
I have not been able to connect to my server via browser, ftp or email since my server had a OS reload & security package installed. If I disconnect and remove my wireless router I can access the server directly from the modem. When the Linksys WRT54G is connected I can go anywhere on the net with no problems, except my server. Is there something they might have done at the server to block wireless router access? I get a timed out message when I ping any of the IP's on the server with the wireless router connected. Linksys has been of no help and I have talked with Clearwire who owns my modem.

Yesterday I had to install a renewed SSL Certificate. Managed to get it installed, in Plesk under domains/www_mydomain_com, but I also deleted the default SSL from the server/certificates area... So then I was getting an dns 500 error when browsingour site and I could not start httpd from within plesk. Went in through SSH and tried to start it from there and got and error stating it could not find the SSLCA cert it was looking for. So I edited my httpd.include file to point to my new certificate. Now http works, but my email has stopped? What gives how could the two be related! Unable To Connect Via SSH With Centos5 X64
I have been struggling with a couple of new servers that we want to run Centos 5 on. For a second assume that is our desire so going back to 4.x isn't an option yet. Now while I mention Centos 5, the problem seems to be with PAM and x64. When trying to login to the server via ssh, the login succeds but then immediately kicks the user out. I have tried this with root and another user created. I have set the UsePam option to no to try to resolve this in sshd_config. On the H-Sphere forum I found this reference: [url] " if i try to connect with ssh and i enter the right password i get an error and ssh closes the connection. The answer already was in the ticket you opened: Quote: That is known bug dealt with PAM authentication. The bug was fixed for i386 systems long time ago. Unable To Connect To Local Httpd Server.
When i go to my website or any page under the domain it's just white. Blank nothing, nada. "Failed to receive status information from Apache. Unable to connect to local httpd server." This error message appears when i click on "apache status". Is this because of the network issue? Or is it because of something I did myself? Cpsrvd Failed @ ... Failure Reason: Unable To Connect To Port 2086
I have tried everything I know (I know not much) I have rebooted it multiple times. I have terminated lots of account and now I have only 2 or three accounts. I have removed all the fishy scripts. Done everything I can. But it just becomes un responsive within a minute of re booting. Its a Pentium 4 Single Core server. 1GB Ram and 160GB harddisk with cpane+WHM. I get error cpsrvd failed @ Thu Dec 11 19:50:43 2008. A restart was attempted automagically. Failure Reason: Unable to connect to port 2086 I cannot even connect to server because within minutes the server hangs.

We have Livezilla tracking on our site, and saw some suspicious activity this afternoon from the Netherlands, about 5 connections from the same IP address, they now appear to have put in a cname record/copied our site for http://wiiee.nl/design.html to our site. Does anyone know what they're doing/trying to do?

How Many People Use VMWare?
I'm not sure how many people here use VMWare, but I'll give this question a shot... I'm looking for a solution similar to Winrar that can view the contents of the .vmdk file. Either to extract any files, or just view the contents without having the have the virtual machine online. I checked Google as well as VMWare's forums/website with no avail.

NYNOC - Perverse People Or Industry Standard
I recently moved a client of mine to a dedicated server with a hosting company called the NYNOC. After losing a few weeks of data for my client in the incedent described below, I am wondering if what happened was industry standard, or this was a case of choosing the wrong hosting company. After signing up and paying the initial hosting charge, I received two notices - one on 18 july, and the second on 26th july - for a bill that was due 25th july. On 2nd august I get a complaint from my client saying the website is down. I figured the hosting company had cut me off for a late bill. Fine, I figure i go and pay the bill and the reconnection charge and they put me back on. After waiting 8 hours to get a support person (they dont have 24 hours customer service), I was told that I no longer had a account with them! No client log in. No server. Nothing. The disk was wiped clean and the server was sold to another customer. Without any warning that this would happen. So my client lost a few weeks of customer data and I lost my credibility. I was just wondering if this is standard practice in the dedicated hosting industry, or these guys are just bad news. One more thing. When you talk to these people (they have only one customer support person) its almost as if they really really dislike their customers. As in, they talk down to you even as they exhibit complete disregard for your interests. This I know is not an industry standard. I have several accounts at Hurricane Electric, and they are tops. Unfortunately they do not offer well priced dedicated hosting. I think I will try Interserver next. I spoke with one of the support guys on AOL late at night, and they seem good, and more importantly, are able to have a pleasant conversation with their customers.

Rescue O People, Experts My Database Hacked
Somebody knew password databases of my forum do not know how then enter and modify the forum style templates and add iframe codes. Among the actions of its currency, although that problem still: Initially I found phpshell uploaded on my site and I delete him , and I realized that there is no other phpshell. 1- I have changed database password and ftp password. 2 - I coded config file using zend 3- I make chmod 751 for directory and 644 for files. I worked all these actions, however hacked on a daily basis. How come this hackers to my server? How closed this issue? What is the log files, which would know from which all the details from entering the database?

Max 240 People Online At The Same Time
I have dedicated server with a Swedish hosting company. We have a network/community website that can have about 300 people online at the same time. But as soon it gets to 240-280 people get logged out (Sessions are closed). The website becomes extremly slow. What can we do to have at least 2000 people online at the same time with out any session being killed? Do we have to upgrade the memory from 1 GB > 2 GB? Or do we need 10>100 Mb port? Unmetered server?

I have a 777 cmod folder open. It needed to be writable so that legitimate users can upload their picture. However, i do not want people to upload .php or .php.pjepg etc to the server. i have free hosting server and a rule to upload 3MB file max. it works for FTP, but somehow it doesn't work for php. Blue Host And Host Monster Is Operated By The Same People
I was with Blue Host and their support and service was pretty bad. Servers going down all the time, and chat support was terrible. Then I moved to Host Monster and received the same kind of service/support. I later then figured out that Blue Host and Host Monster is runned by the same people. For example, I opened up a tech support ticket with Host Monster and then they replied signing their signature with Blue Host. So I got the same service: terrible tech support and servers kept going down. Now I'm looking for a new web hosting. I a few people here gave Host Gator some good reviews. I hope Host Gator is not run be the same people that runs Blue Host and Host Monster.

Cant Connect To IIS
is to use windows authentication, to connect to the site, and connect to MS SQL with the same user. I read on the net (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms998358.aspx), and it said I should go to my default sites properties, to to the "directory security" tab, and make sure "Integrated Windows authentication" is the only box that is checked. I did that and now I cant connect to my site... When I try to connect, it bring up a windows user name and password box. I put a user name and password in, but nothing... Iv double checked the user exist, and still nothing...

I'm getting a cabinet colocation with a provider and on the sales order there is a setup and re-occurring fee for "cross connect". My rep explained it's for the connection from my cabinet to their switch. Is this a typical charge for colocation? Can't Connect To CPanel
I can't connect to CPanel or any of my sites but I can connect to my virtuozzo control panel. When I try to connect to CPanel or any of my sites I get an error that says that the server is taking to long to respond. If I go through a proxy I see the sites so I know CPanel is not down. Clients Can't Connect To IP
We're having a small problem with one of our Ventrilo boxes (Linux) that seems to be blocking users from connecting. The DC (The Planet) is reporting that the issue is likely with the user and my tech is also saying the same thing. Connect Two Servers
I'm trying to cross connect two linux servers' secondary NICs with a cross over cable. after I pluged in the both ends, I tried to set internal ips for eth1 with netconfig, 192.168.3.1 and the other one is 192.168.3.2, i don't know what to put on netmask and gateway so I left it with netconfig's default, after that I tried ifup ifcfg-eth1 but the server lost connection. The tech at the datacenter checked and said I delete their network gateway from the list of routes. what should I do? remove the gateway line in ifcfg-eth1?

Static Routes With Linux & Shorewall (site To Site VPN Virtual Private Network)
Attached is a (badly) drawn diagram of two sites, connected by a vpn. The site to the left, is network 10.0.0.0/24 which runs a linux server as the router for the network. The site to the right, is network 10.1.0.0/24 which runs a windows 2003 server as the router for the network. Portal Connect But Don't Work
I install a Oracle Collaboration Suite portal on a Windows 2003 server. I configure everithig to put it online. I cerate a dyndns hostname and I forwarded the 80 port on the router. So, when I type the adress the portal appears but when I press on a link he redirects me on server.xxx.local.

Vsftpd Running, Can't Connect From Outside
I have been pulling my hair out all day trying to fix this issue, which should be simple in theory. Basically in summary, vsftpd is running on the server, I can't connect to FTP from my own computer. I have tried many things, but right now the way it stands is my vsftpd.conf file has listen=YES. I did a netstat -pan, with a return of: tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0:21 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 29984/vsftpd I can telnet/FTP into port 21 locally, so vsftpd is indeed running properly, but I cannot connect from the outside at all. I have also commented out everything in /etc/hosts.allow. At this point, I am out of ideas. And to top it all off, I'm on a tight deadline. Usually works out there way doesn't it?

Can't Connect To Remote Desktop
I signed up for a Win2k3 VPS account with 3dgwebhosting. I'm a newbie to Plesk and win2k3 so I spent the first day getting head around Plesk. I then logged into Remote Desktop only to find someone else had beat me. They'd hacked in and downloaded a mass email client, email stripper and obviously sent out spam from a 2mb text file of email addresses. I didn't spend long in Remote Desktop, but while there I switched on Windows Firewall, changed my admin login password and logged off. Now, 24 hours later, I can't get back in. I get the error - This computer can't connect to the remote computer. Try again..... I can still login through Plesk, FTP and ExpressionWeb. Is FW keeping me out of RD or has the hacker returned?

How To Connect Virtual PC To Host PC
I've downloaded and installed the Microsoft Virtual PC image for testing IE6. The development copy of my website is on the host PC, running on Windows XP/Apache/PHP. I need to use IE6 on the virtual PC to view pages served up by Apache on the host PC. I know this requires networking them together, but I've no idea how to do that. I've installed the Microsoft Loopback Adapter on the host PC, and told the virtual PC it can use that adapter in the Virtual PC settings dialogue, but on the host PC the loopback adapter says "limited or no connectivity". (Before someone suggests it, I've been using MultipleIEs. Trouble is, you can't test printing with that - you need a proper copy of IE6.)

Shoutcast Customers Cannot Connect
i have problem with shoutcast accounts....i have some shoutcast servers in ports 8002,8004,8006,8008,8010,8012... every day some of the shoutcast server or all, goes down and the customers can connect by winamp...so as result i am always go to start the servers by myself...why these happening?why the servers are going down? is there an automatically way to start them when they stop?
