I want to save the access logs of our websites on an external server. If I do this now with the default setup, the gets overwritten every day. The desired file name format whould be: websitedomain-tld-access-2014-10-24.log
How can I tell Plesk to do this and how can I make sure the statistics keep working?
On our other servers we use rotatelogs for this.
I need to disable apache access logs. I commented out the access log path in /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf and restarted the server but it's still logging access.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have been a solid cPanel / WHM user for the past 2 years, we have now since downsized our hosting requirements and also wanted to cut our panel costs and so we moved to PLESK 12 Web Edition.The server is on a trial license and has been working fine with no problems for the past 2 weeks. Today all of a sudden none of the websites are accessible, although I can ping all IP's on server and login via SSH.I cannot access any websites or hosting control panel, I have disabled IP tables as this was the cause of a problem last time.
Why this happened was there an update at around 5AM this morning which could have caused this?I have restarted the server, I can successfully ping / resolve address from SSH.
I am currently unable to access the Plesk control panel except from the web server itself. When I try any of the following options, all work on the server itself but externally all I get is the default Tomcat page.

https://external_ip_address:8443
I don't know if the problem is on the server itself or something within our firewall - we use Microsoft Forefront TMG. The port 8443 is open, and the Tomcat page is being served. All websites working fine, both internally and externally. The server itself is in a DMZ on the network.
The server is running Centos 7 with Plesk 12.
I just noticed that when adding a new domain, I am warned that the domain resolves to another IP address - the external one. Currently, the IP address set up in Plesk is the internal (192.168...) address. Could it be that I need to change this to the external?
After rebooting my server, my websites are no longer working.
If I access the plesk machine on the local network by it's hostname, the default Plesk page shows as expected. Everything on 8443 works too.
All hosted sites do not work. FTP DOES work. This seems limited to an http problem of some sort.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am running Plesk Version: 12.0.18 on CentOS.Earlier today my service provider had a massive issue and my server was down for several hours. Upon it being back online i've restarted but now I cannot load any of my pages. I have 10 domains setup and if I ping their name servers or the server IP i get packets received now.
One of my installed domains is [URL] ... now if you try and load this url you get a time out but if you try to access admin page URL....None of the subscriptions are able to load their websites when i type in their URL and well it worked before it went down.
I've a box running Linux Plesk 12.0.18 + Postfix and hosting mydomain.com. Email service is hosted by an external provider.
The problem is that I can't write to postmaster@mydomain.com because Postfix tries to deliver it locally.
What I've already done:
Configured MX record on DNS to point the external provider's server.
Disabled mail service for the TLD from plesk panel or with:
/usr/local/psa/bin/mail --off mydomain.com
The problem still remains.
I think I'm facing on Plesk 12 the same problem described here and elsewhere on this forum for Plesk 9: [URL]

I Typed the external IP and got nothing, while I still was able to access my web server by typing "localhost", I tried both IIS and Apache, but what is interesting is that fact that the other people can access my web server via that external IP, I just cannot access it from my local network.

After a full year of operation, I think I need to delete some log files. What types of files can I safely delete (and is deletion the best option, i.e. will the files be regenerated from zero length?)
For example, my server's error_log file is 193 Mb and my access_log file is 14 Mb. Can I "rm" them both?
Are there any other such files I can safely delete that occupy space on the server?
=We are trying to integrate eBay.com feeds into our site and for some reason we are not able to get expected results on current shared hosting server. We tested the same on another server and we are able to get the right results. And the current host doesn't allow us to access the server logs unless we upgrade the account to VPS and Dedicated server. But we are pretty new to launch the site, hence we don't want to buy any VPS or Dedicated server for now. Now we are looking for another shared hosting who can offer to access server logs.

Is it safe or not?
I cannot SSH or login into Plesk Admin panel. Once I tried SSH, it says 'connection refused'. Once I tried login into admin panel, it says 'Error: Access for administrator from address 'xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx' is restricted in accordance with IP Access restriction policy currently applied.
Tried restarting the plesk server too. Nothing seems working.
I enter one of my IPs or the hostname belonging to this IP, followed by the Plesk port, and I get redirected to the "main" hostname of the server, which was set in Plesk. But at this moment that hostname is used by another server (my old server) and so I'm redirected to the other server and cannot access Plesk on the new server.
I don't know why Plesk reacts like this, because it did not on the old server. Here the problem more detailed:
I'm just configuring my new server with Plesk 11. My old server uses Plesk 10. On my old server / in Plesk 10 I have the following scenario:
- I have several IPs (10)
- Each IP is used for a different domain
- Each IP has it's domain as the reverse entry (configured outside of the server/Plesk)
- Each IP is set to "Dedicated" in Plesk
- I set Plesk to listen only on one of these IPs (and different port)
- Several domains are created in Plesk, but not a domain for my Plesk IP
- The server's name is one of the domains (required for mails not being recognized as spam)
- The hostname of the Plesk IP is one assigned by my provider (something like x-x-x-x.xyzservers.com)
- Entering the IP of Plesk redirects to the "Plesk hostname"
=> Plesk can be accessed by using x-x-x-x.xyzservers.com:myport
And under Plesk 11 (here comes the problem):
- Still several IPs (but less: 4)
- One IP should be used for Plesk, one for domain X, one for domain Y and the last one for the other domains
- Reverse entries are x-x-x-x.xyzservers.com for Plesk IP, domain X/Y for two other IPs and the main domain for the last IP
- Plesk IP and the two single domain IPs are configured as dedicated, the last one as shared
- At this point I did not configure any domains in Plesk
- Server's name is the same as my old server (the main domain)
=> Entering any IP with the Plesk port redirects to the servers hostname, e.g. my main domain, which is still on the old server.
=> Result: I cannot access Plesk!
Of course I could just change the hostname of the server via SSH (just have to find out how to do this), but why does Plesk react in another way now? Or is the problem that I cannot change Plesk to listen on only one IP?
I host a number of large sites (20GB+) on my VPS server running Centos6 and Plesk Panel 12. Due to the large sites I don't want to keep multiple backups on the actual server because it would take too much disk space. When I create a backup to the server's repository all is good, but when I click the green arrow to download the backup it takes a long time and then it fails with a timeout error. On some smaller sites it takes a while but eventually downloads the tar.
So my question: Is it possible to access the Server Repository via FTP? How and where would I set this up? Presumably it would be a better way to download these large archive files?
When I try to SSH to server with hosting username it disconnects and says in secure.log:

We have running a Plesk 12.0.18 update #47 on a CentOS 6.6 VPS.
Suddenly one of the domains hosted has stopped recording the error logs from apache so we can't troubleshoot the web issues. All other hosts are working right.
I have a rented VPS with 2TB of disk space and a plesk license in order to host the sites that i develop and my sites, and found myself with around 1.8TB of free space, plesk samba management and plesk vpn management but with few missing pieces for my idea. My idea was to setup vpn tunneling between my laptop and desktop to plesk server and access samba share from the server like they were in my LAN.In the firewall I have opened only the classic mail and web ports (obviously plesk access too).
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have suddenly lost all of the websites on the plesk panel server 12.0.18. One of the domains was being used to spam and so I started blocking stuff and removing some of the offending files and folders and the spamming stopped.
However it got to a point where I needed to restart the server and although it was working before the restart, once I did restart it it stopped working. All domains are loading nothing and the access_log looks like nginx or FastCGI is trying to redirect the page somewhere. The bootstrapper repair log file states:
"Details: PHP Warning: include_once(Template/Writer/Webserver/Apache.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory; File: /usr/local/psa/admin/plib/Loader.php, Line: 97"

I have one subscription that shows incorrect statistics for the log file size. In the statistics pane it reports 130MB, while on the server in the /var/www/vhosts/domain/logs I only see 1.7MB.
Are there any other locations where logs are kept that are included in the statistics?
I'm just wondering how I can start logging activity in Fail2Ban. I've got the following line in the "logs" tab in "IP Address Banning" in the Plesk UI:
/var/log/fail2ban.log
However when I check this it states "The file is empty".
I'm assuming there will be a setting somewhere that tells fail2ban to log to that file but I'm not sure where/what it is?
I know for sure that I've had IP's banned but they just don't appear to be logged.
