During downloading the files for the upgrade, it is hanging at downloading the following file:
plesk.msi
When I look at the C:ParallelsInstallerparallelsPANEL-WIN_11.0.9dist-msi-Microsoft-2003-i386 I see that the file is .tmp and cannot be deleted.
I do not know how to stop the upgrade, delete the .tmp file and download the files again.
In order to install moodle, I need to upgrade MySQL from 5.1 to 5.5. I have gone through one of the KB articles [URL], but it's not very clear.
Can I upgrade it through Add/remove Components from Install and update products just like it can be done for PHP?? I see MySQL Server 2005, 2008 and 2012,
I have a plesk server with me, would like to check how should I upgrade my .net framework to 4.5?
Do I need to update the framework by using the control panel or manually download and install?

connected to my other question regarding hMailserver and Plesk 11.5 for Windows I still need to transfer/upgrade two other servers to Plesk 11.5 - and these two are using hMailserver. During the upgrade to Plesk 11.5.x hMailserver is kicked out and Mail Enable SE is installed (and luckily configured). The users will have their old mails stored with hMailserver and a "blank" new mailbox with Mail Enable. Somehow I need to transfer or migrate these mails from hMailserver to Mail Enable.
My solution last time was "easy but annoying": I set new passwords for all mailboxes and used IMAPcopy to copy all messages, one by one. This took like forever!There was just no other solution as I already upgraded my installation. As of now, the "Upgrade Notes" published by Parallels suggest to "upgrade by migrate". How to do this, without IMAPcopy and all this trouble? Maybe if I get a backup of the mails and restore this backup? Is there a way to only backup the mails instead of the whole configuration and stuff?
Plesk has mysql installed with it to run properly and I need to upgrade that version to the latest. Now I am not talking about the mysql server that it provides for me to create databases on. I am talking about the version it uses to run.

I noticed that users cannot FTP, when trying to connect they receive an error: 530 User cannot log in, home directory inaccessible.
Doing further investigation, I confirmed that only users created after upgrade have this issue, that created before upgrade works fine.
I already discovered that home directory is missing on IIS 7.5 FTP. Creating a symbolic link on NTFS using MKLINK command pointing to home folder and configuring permissions to user solved the problem.I think its a bug on Plesk Panel 11.0.4 as I can see same the same problem on two distinct servers after upgrading from Plesk 10 to 11.
I tried to run Plesk Reconfigurator utility with all options, without success.I can fix home directory by myself manually but it will be great if Plesk Panel handle this again.

Although I followed the link below to remove the hung database copy and remove the unfinished database copied. We can not change the state of Preferred domain. It always remain domain.tld When we try to change it to "none" panel says "Information: The settings were successfully updated."

After Plesk panel upgrade to 12.x webadmin stopped working . It's showing following error

Since we upgraded to Plesk 11.5 or (I'm not shure) the last Update 12, user can not import MySQL-Databases anymore.
If the user open phpMyAdmin for import and select the database and click on Ok, phpMyAdmin does nothing.
I heard that could be a problem with JQUERY and I checked the files in ParallelsadminhtdocsdomainsdatabasesphpMyAdminjsjquery and all files seems to be there.
Only if I check the source of the phpMyAdmin Import-Website it seems, there is a problem with jquery-1.6.2+fix-9521.js.
But how I can fix this problem for all Windows-Servers.

I have upgrade plesk to 12 version and after upgrade all the domains that have more than 2048 MB on the server are shown as 2048 MB.
If i go on the domain statistic the tab the total disk usage is 2048.1 MB but on the graph the services disk usage are shown correctly.

We are hosting a site on w2k3 server and every couple of days it just hangs. type in the url and it will not load, it timesout then u see the typical 404 error page.
We have about 150 websites hosted on the same server, it just happens to this one.
Restart the application and its back up like it's never been down, speedy and running smoothly. I have tried looking for memory leaks, i've put it in its own application pool and it still happens.
Our client is getting frustrated by this and so are we with ourselves for not being able to resolve it.
So I requested a total of 5 to 6 times for a reboot from my DC. Whenever I try to start my AFP firewall, it just hang my server. Even after I reinstall AFP and start it, it still hang my server! Is there any log file where I can keep track of the problem?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI have a VPS in which mails are hanging in Mailqueue. When I use these commands at SSH(iptables -D OUTPUT 2 iptables -D OUTPUT 1 ), every thing goes fine and mails are started delivering but after 8 or 9 hours same problem occurs.
So my question is:
Can there be a permanent solution for this problem?
Ordered a server from a reseller and they informed me that they are no longer reselling dealing with this company.
This was just after i had moved all my sites over to them after numerous problems with setup.
I had just paid an admin to do the transition........its a free site benefiting animal causes. So my budget is smallie
of course the TOS states no refunds....but they provided the wrong hardware on two occasions.....

A spammer (probably www.powerball.com) is sending spams using one of my email addresses as his / her "from" address. This hanged my mail server last week and it took more than 60 hours to solve the problem.
My host replied me the problem was "You have over 100,000 emails in your mail queue due to a large amount of Frozen emails that were either deferred by the remote servers or sent to invalid addresses repeatedly".
From this morning, my emails are blocked again. I can't send / receive mails using any of my email accounts (from this server). I don't know how long this will take again to solve the situation, and I'm afraid that this may not be the last time.
Now I don't know what to do. Ideally, a logical solution could be to delete any bounced mail automatically (I'm using nutsmail + squirrel mail).

My site has 2 servers to split the load. 2 servers share a mysql server. Using rrdns to load the balance.
Server A running mysql 5.0,lighttpd
Server B running lighttpd.
Server B connect to A's mysql database.
During peak time. B can not connect to A's mysql server. It says server not responding. But A still running fine.
When I check mysql log file.
/usr/libexec/mysqld: Forcing close of thread .....
And when run top, the load average is 20.
The spec of Server A
Intel(R) Xeon(TM) CPU 3.06GHz dual core.
2G Ram.

I've got a client who seems to be having a problem with his e-mail on my VPS.
When he tries to download mails his browser(thunderbird) says 'Receiving one of 80' and hangs. The only solution is to go into webmail and delete some of the mails then try and receive them again. One thing that puzzles me is he doesn't have 80 mails in his account, he only have 33.
This isn't happening with anyone else who's using thunderbird and my VPS.
I have got some old plesk boxes that i am trying to migrate to a new box running 8.4 the old versions are 5.0.4 and 5.0.5.
I have managed to export everything from the 5.0.5 box but i cannot do it from the 5.0.4 box.
I have searched all day long for how you can upgrade from 5.0.4 to 5.0.5.
All I got from the rather helpful folks at Plesk (or what ever they call themselves these days) is that i need to upgrade to 7.5.
Does anyone here familiar with Plesk?
Just wondering is it worth it to upgrade from 7.5.6 to 8.1 and if it is easy to do?
Also, with the lease license, do you get the sitebuilder and antispam for free?
upgrade fails often with severe issues.
My server had issues and it took me 3 days to solve it.
Plesk gives only paid support and not wanting to pay them more then the license I just bought 2 months ago I read the forum threads and found a work around that finally worked.
If you are considering to upgrade - please check out their forums for issues first as it's very common to have them...
I have a Plesk host that I am tasked with upgrading. It started with openSUSE 11.4 on Plesk 10.4 and I have upgraded it all the way to openSUSE 12.2 on Plesk 11.09 (fixed minor issues with pop3d and mysql locking on the way). The next upgrade was supposed to be 11.5, but the option to upgrade it never shows up. I have re-instated our support license so I know the license is OK, and also checked that 11.5 supports openSUSE 12.2. The update log doesn't really tell me much either:
