CPanel/WHM Server - Email Not Working
Just got a new server online this week from VolumeDrive, and everything has been going just fine with my initial setup. I transferred over 7 domains from another cPanel/WHM machine and the transfer feature worked flawlessly.
Since I use Gmail for most of my communication, I haven't even had any email accounts setup on any of my domains in quite sometime. So knowing that I need a few setup for various correspondence, I went ahead and set one up tonight. I've setup and used mailboxes on cPanel machines before, and it's not exactly rocket science... pretty easy stuff.
But what's weird here is that when I attempt to click on the "Webmail" icon from directly within cPanel, the Horde login fails over and over again. Then, if I setup the account in Thunderbird or Outlook using the CORRECT account information (username@domain.com as the login -- and the appropriate password/server settings), the client login fails also.
To add to this weird behavior, I sent myself an email at the newly setup address with a 2mb attachment. Obviously I can't login to the account to see if the mail arrived, but at least it didn't bounce.
However, when I'm in cPanel under this domain and go to "Email Accounts", I'm showing "0 Bytes" for usage under the account where i know there should be at least 2mb worth of usage.

I tranferred all my accounts from my old cpanel server to my new one, Updated the DNS records with my registrar to the new ips, unfortunately e-mail is not working, i used the trouble shooter and seems to trying to relay or something my mail to the old IP. I keep getting this error when trying to send to an account IPdoes not like recipient. Remote host said: [IP DOMAIN] is currently not 550-permitted to relay through this server. Perhaps you have not logged into 550-the pop/imap server in the last 30 minutes or do not have SMTP 550 Authentication turned on in your email client. Giving up on [IP].

Cpanel/whm Email Accounts
On my cpanel server, the main account catch-all is full of crap emails. So many that when I try to log into it with horde/squirrel it just times out. How can I clear the mailbox out? I tried connecting too it from outlook express and it connects but doesnt download any of the emails. This is the main email account that cpanel automatically creates for the account.

WHM/CPanel Sends Private Key Via Clear Text Email
Why does the WHM panel send me my private key and passphrase for my SSL certificate to my inbox when I generate a CSR? Um... isn't that a bit insecure? I purchased a Rapid SSL cert from NameCheap who then needed a Certificate Signature Request(CSR) which is generated from WHM. After generating the CSR, WHM sent me an email that is literally titled 'SSL RSA PRIVATE KEY for *.<domain_removed>.com' The email not only contains the ----- RSA PRIVATE KEY----- but also my 'challenge password' . is this supposed to happen? and why on earth would my private key and passphrase be sent via unencrypted email? The only think I can think of is that the WHM panel feature is being used to generate the CSR and is sending me a self-signed cert private key , which I'm not going to use (i'm only going to use the CSR) Even if thats the case, I think it still shouldn't happen, its too confusing for newbies like me and I could just end up using the same passphrase for my actual certificate. Here are the steps I followed: 1. purchased a RapidSSL from namecheap 2. Clicked 'Activate' in namecheap's SSL dashboard which then asks me for a CSR. To get the CSR, per Site5's wiki: 1.logged into WHM 2. clicked 'Generate a SSL Certificate and Signing Request' 3. completed the 'create a new cert' form which among other things, asks me for the 'Email address the cert will be sent to'. SSL Email And SMTP Error - WHM/cPanel - Retail Host Certificate
We have a few users that use SSL email and we decided to purchase a cheap single-root SSL cert over at namecheap for the host name so that it would end the "self-signed cert" whining. We got the cert installed and it works great for WHM/cPanel and also works for SSL over IMAP and POP3, but the very first email anyone sends (SMTP) per day gives this warning (Outlook Express): The server you are connected to is using a security certificate that could not be verified. A certificate chain processed, but terminated in a root certificate which is not trusted by the trust provider. It seems obvious that the cert used by the SMTP system is not the new one we installed. We used WHM's SSL/TLS -> Change Server Certificates link to install the cert. We then made sure that: /usr/share/ssl/certs/host.domain.com.crt /usr/share/ssl/private/host.domain.com.key /etc/exim.crt /etc/exim.key ...all contained the current cert or key as appropriate. Just for grins, we even made sure: /usr/local/cpanel/etc/cpanel.pem ...had the correct pair. We restarted all the mail services and even restarted the whole server. Email Stopped Working On Server
Recently I noticed that I was not getting any email on my server. Server is running CentOS When I send email to myself I am not getting anything and then it bounces back several days later saying the server is not responding. When I check on Dnsstuff.com I get the following: Trying to connect to all mailservers: mail.webzila.com. - 216.32.77.68 [Could not connect: Could not receive data: Operation timed out.] [Note that if your mailserver takes over 30 seconds to respond, our test will timeout, even though real mailservers will wait longer] I tried turning mail services OFF and then ON again in Plesk but that didnt help.

Getting More Out Of LogWatch On A CPanel/WHM Server
I was searching for something else the other day and came across this (search for LogWatch on the page). It changes the default paths for some of the log files so that they work on a cPanel/WHM server. This will give you more reports in your daily LogWatch email - specifically, it adds exim, apache, courier and PureFTP logs. Most tutorials only show you how to change the detail level or the email address in logwatch.conf. So, I thought I'd share this piece of information. I found that a few changes were necessary for my system. WHM/CPANEL Domain Name Server (DNS)
I have just purchased a VPS with WHM and CPANEL. My old VPS used LXADMIN and HYPERVM. I'm trying to change over the DNS from the old to the new, so all i did was change the i.p's. Now i go into WHM and type my DNS servers into the setup/config page. Having already assigned each dns name an i.p im just waiting for the Assign an A address to this namserver button to show my new i.p address.. At the minute it says my old one. Adding IPs To CPanel/WHM Server
I have setup a new cpanel/whm server. The main IP address works fine and I added the additional IP addresses the datacenter gave me. That was yesterday, today I logged on and when I go to IP Functions >> Show or Delete Current IP Addresses all the addresses I added yesterday are showing up in red text and I cant ping any of them, not even if I ping them from the server itself. Seems that when I rebooted the server after the initial cpanel setup something has caused this. Trouble is my name servers are sitting on 2 of the malfunctioning ip addresses so they aren’t working at all. I have tried removing them ad re-adding them and they still show red.

I can stay for a long long time, and thus building a strong server by upgrading whenever I have the spare cash to do so. What I'm thinking is a service where it's possible to buy more HD space, RAM or CPU by paying a ONE TIME fee. WHM Upgrade Caused Su To Stop Working
I have not logged into my server in about a week, and in during that time WHM updated itself. I logged into WHM yesterday and received the accept new license message. Then ssh'd into the server as my normal user, but can no longer su to root. When I try, it just says 'incorrect password', though I am entering the correct root password. I can ssh to the server as root and login no problem, using that password. As root, I can su to other users, but not the other way around. This has never been a problem until yesterday. This only happened in the last week, and the only thing that has happened is the SHM upgrade. Also, from within WHM, attempting to restart apache seems to stick with the progress meter on the screen forever. I am not sure if whm is attemtping to execute commands (like apache restart) with sudo, which may explain that behavior as sudo is no longer working either. Has anyone seen this with a WHM upgrade?

I have two servers running cPanel/WHM, with BIND and Exim. I have my main domain running on one server (gizmo.mywebhost.net) and wish to host a seperate helpdesk on a subdomain support.mydomain.com (on a second server, stripe.mywebhost.net). The subdomain mail account test@support.mydomain.com works fine with hotmail, i can send and reveive between my stripe.mywebhost.net server and hotmail without any issue. Email Not Getting Through On Cpanel Server
I just realized for the past week we have not been getting email on one of our servers. If I send a test message to a non-existant account (that's set to :fail:) I get a bounce-back, so apparently exim is awake and answering. But if I send an email to a physical account or an account forwarded to another service like gmail, it never shows up, and no error is ever sent to the sending address... Very bad. I can't imagine the contacts that have been lost at this point. ConfigServer mail manage shows absolutely no email waiting.

This is the scenario, domain.com are setup on server1, however server2 also has the same profile of domain.com as we use ns3 and ns4 using domain.com. how exactly email works. For example, I set my mx record to google apps in order to use google mail with my own domain. Thing is, I can sent from google mail now with my domain email address but cannot send. Cpanel Not Working... Need To Backup
As a background: They had uptime problems, which have since been resolved, however now they seem to have let their cpanel license lapse. Neither I, nor my clients (nor anyone else on the server, according to their forums), can log into CPanel or WHM, getting the error "Cannot read license file." In the beginning they kept saying it would be fixed in 24 hours. 3 weeks later, still waiting. At any rate, our biggest issue right now is that cpanel has not been working since the first week in July. I make weekly full backups, sent via ftp to a remote server, of all my client sites with a cronjob. Since cpanel has been offline, I haven't had a backup since July 1. I'm doing a straight FTP of all the sites' data individually to my hard drive as I'm not sure what else to do to back up their stuff. I guess my question is: If I have to resort to finding a new host (which, if this doesn't get resolved soon, I'll have to), will these straight FTP backups be enough to restore the sites, including mysql data, email accounts, cgi sections, .htaccess/.htpasswd files, etc? What about WHM data for my reseller account? My assumption is that this will be a lot more work, but hoping it's not my only option.

CPanel Stopped Working In Vista
Yesterday I could reach all of my cPanels on a Vista laptop; today they all time out. I can reach them with other computers. It doesn't matter if I go to mysite.com/cpanel or mysite.com:2082. I even added a port 2082 under Windows Firewall; no change. I'm not using any 3rd party firewalls. I did install a bittorrent client last night, then uninstalled it when it didn't work.

Email Notifyers On My WHM Accelerated Control Panel

HTTPS Not Working - Cpanel Based Site
Today, I've purchased a RapidSSL Certificate for my site with Cpanel and https:// access did not work. What I did was :- 1) Generate a Private Key 2) Create a CSR Request Certificate 3) Submit that and installed the Certificate in WHM for the site. The site is running on a dedicated IP and it works as http:// but not with the https:// . I checked and Cpanel did include the SSL directive for the site in httpd.conf and have rebooted the server and restarted httpd but to no avail. I also had OpenSSL 0.9.8.3a installed and update WHM. The Apache 1.x was installed with OpenSSL Support too. Is there a SSL Server or something which may not be active ?

I have a reseller account with site5. The last months the service has been horrible, sites down, dns down etc.. and the people there dont do a thing.. so i want to change to something else.
