CPanel- Accounts Transferred, Email Not Working
I tranferred all my accounts from my old cpanel server to my new one,
Updated the DNS records with my registrar to the new ips, unfortunately e-mail is not working, i used the trouble shooter and seems to trying to relay or something my mail to the old IP.
I keep getting this error when trying to send to an account
IPdoes not like recipient.
Remote host said: [IP DOMAIN] is currently not
550-permitted to relay through this server. Perhaps you have not logged into
550-the pop/imap server in the last 30 minutes or do not have SMTP
550 Authentication turned on in your email client.
Giving up on [IP].

Cpanel/whm Email Accounts
On my cpanel server, the main account catch-all is full of crap emails. So many that when I try to log into it with horde/squirrel it just times out. How can I clear the mailbox out? I tried connecting too it from outlook express and it connects but doesnt download any of the emails. This is the main email account that cpanel automatically creates for the account.

CPanel/WHM Server - Email Not Working
Just got a new server online this week from VolumeDrive, and everything has been going just fine with my initial setup. I transferred over 7 domains from another cPanel/WHM machine and the transfer feature worked flawlessly. Since I use Gmail for most of my communication, I haven't even had any email accounts setup on any of my domains in quite sometime. So knowing that I need a few setup for various correspondence, I went ahead and set one up tonight. I've setup and used mailboxes on cPanel machines before, and it's not exactly rocket science... pretty easy stuff. But what's weird here is that when I attempt to click on the "Webmail" icon from directly within cPanel, the Horde login fails over and over again. Then, if I setup the account in Thunderbird or Outlook using the CORRECT account information (username@domain.com as the login -- and the appropriate password/server settings), the client login fails also. To add to this weird behavior, I sent myself an email at the newly setup address with a 2mb attachment. Obviously I can't login to the account to see if the mail arrived, but at least it didn't bounce. However, when I'm in cPanel under this domain and go to "Email Accounts", I'm showing "0 Bytes" for usage under the account where i know there should be at least 2mb worth of usage.

Disk Quota Not Working For User Accounts
I am having Virtuozzo vps with cpanel/WHM installed.I have created some accounts in it by setting disk quota . Now the issue is : some users are using space over the allocted one ,when i use the command quota -u (username),i can see that the users are used the space over the allocated one and they are still allowed to upload file . Fail: (regarding Email Accounts)
I know I have seen a command line you can use which will activate :fail: in all the accounts on the server simultaneously so that you don't have to do each account separately, but I can't find that command. Does anyone here know what that command is? I'm assuming it would involve /etc/valiases/?

Add Email Accounts With Mx Entries
I just transfered an existing client of mine to one of my servers but he has MX entries. I entered the MX settings in Cpanel for him but im wondering if I have to actually add all the mail accounts? Im assuming since he is using MX entries then he is using a seperate server to handle all the accounts. Am I right in my assumption? Do I have to add all his mail accounts into cpanel?

Create Email Account Across Multiple Accounts
I've just put all my own domains on their own server, away from my clients' domains. I don't really want to go through 60 Cpanel accounts creating an email address for myself in each. Is there a way to create a single pop account in each account? I seem to recall there's a way to change the default email address to fail: or blackhole: server-wide so I guess there'll be a way to create a mail account.

Managing A Client's 100 Email Accounts
If there's a moderator lurking that knows of a better spot for this inquiry, by all means point away. We're an ad agency in the very vertical market of Recruitment Communications. We've developed an employment site that we host on our Multi-site account. They have today requested a quote on what it would take to create 100 email accounts for their various employees and administrators on this employment site. I initially think we tell them in the proposal that having their employees utilize webmail for their accounts would be least problematic (read: least cost support) for them. It's still going to present a bit of manual labor on our part creating the names, but not too daunting. The client has no experience on staff that would be able to undertake the task as outlined above, so naturally we're concerned that their needs are indeed met in the best possible way. One of our company's goals for all of our clients is to, as much as is possible, Under-promise/Over-Deliver. But as we're not specifically a "provider" in the typical sense of what they're asking, I am also thinking that it might be better for both the client and ourselves to examine whether this is a feasible undertaking. If we were to undertake this 'project', and this is something you've experienced or read about, might you care to offer guidance on what guidelines we should assert/set-up? Web-mail versus Pop? Pricing structure? Support fees? Etceteras, etceteras.

How To Track Email That Is Not Working
how exactly email works. For example, I set my mx record to google apps in order to use google mail with my own domain. Thing is, I can sent from google mail now with my domain email address but cannot send. Furthermore, login to my website email bij www.domain.com/webmail is possible but receiving is impossible and even sending email from that place will not work. Thinking about it it seems that email is lost google can send but not receive from my domain webmail i cannot receive nor send.

Seperate Email Accounts When Hosting Multiple Domains
I just tried westhost. Very nice folks, good reviews, worth a shot. I signed up for a regular hosting account that allows multiple domains. That didn't work for email. An email user has access to email under that users name for all domains attached to the account. so you can't have info@abc.com, info@def.com, etc. One info@ per account. I did find a hack for it, but it wouldn't work with web mail. So now I need to find a host that separates mail by domain WITH webmail. This is getting so tiresome. I have a VPS with "the planet", but so many things just don't work out of the box. I've been fighting with them about PHP not sending mail for months. DNS problems everytime I setup a new domain. There has to be an easier way! 15 domains, everything needs to work. I don't want to manage anything. No resellers. The company I host with will own the data center.

Correct Procedure For Migrating Email Accounts From One Host To Another
I have a client who will be pointing their domain to my reseller server. I have already setup the account on my server and made the appropriate DNS changes with their domain registrar - so the domain should be pointing to my server soon. However, what is the normal procedure for migrating email accounts, without loosing mail? When should they change email account settings? Should they use their current settings until they get an error, or no longer receive mail, then change settings to match my server? How is this normally done?

Email Stopped Working On Server
Recently I noticed that I was not getting any email on my server. Server is running CentOS When I send email to myself I am not getting anything and then it bounces back several days later saying the server is not responding. When I check on Dnsstuff.com I get the following: Trying to connect to all mailservers: mail.webzila.com. - 216.32.77.68 [Could not connect: Could not receive data: Operation timed out.] [Note that if your mailserver takes over 30 seconds to respond, our test will timeout, even though real mailservers will wait longer] I tried turning mail services OFF and then ON again in Plesk but that didnt help.

Sending Emails From VPS To Hotmail And Gmail Email Accounts
I have problems sending emails from my VPS to Hotmail and Gmail email accounts. This is a new VPS with some new websites so they are not blacklisted for spam or anything like that. After users register at my website they receive a welcome email, but with Hotmail/Gmail accounts they end up by default in the spam/junkfolder. I also have a refer-a-friend and a forgot password form -> with gmail users they both end up in the spamfolder, with hotmail users they both do not show up at all! I read somewhere that editing the DNS zone could solve this problem with adding a SPF record (see also [url]). I have added the most common SPF record "v=spf1 a ~all" as TXT record type but after a few days nothing has changed. so all email send from the VPS to Hotmail/Gmail email accounts will directly be send into the inbox.

Windows Server Hacked And Files Transferred Using Torrent Clients
I have noticed in a few Windows server tha the server gets hacked and there are tons of files which are mostly DVD rips and games being transferred away which results in huge amount of data transferred and bandwidth consumption increasing to as far as 29 Mbps. On further investigation, I find that all the files get stored in either the Recycler directory or the System Volume Information directories in any of the drives. Now these two directories are protected operating system files. Even if there is a windows firewall installed, there is no difference. I have even noticed that in some servers there is an automatic exception rule added in the windows firewall enabling the torrent client to communicate outside the server. This seems to be a common problem with Windows 2003 server and seems to be some backdoor of Windows allowing hackers to use the server for seeding. Has anybody come across such a problem or know the solution? Kindly help me with this.

Cpanel Moving Accounts
i have a dedicated server. Centos 5.3 /Cpanel 2 reseller accounts on it: acc1 and acc2. acc1 has ns1.domain.tld and ns2.domain.tl nameservers set up acc2 has ns3.domain.tld and ns4.domain.tl nameservers set up now i want to move an account (customer.tld) from acc2 to acc1 without downtime. how can i do this provided i can not have customer.tld both on acc1 and acc2 on the same server? here's what i did: 1. changed customer.tld nameservers to have ns1.domain.tld, ns2.domain.tld, ns3.domain.tld, ns4.domain.tld then waited for 48 hours for the changes to propagate 2. changed the customer.tld owner in WHM from acc2 to acc1 3. changed the cpanel package from acc2_package ti acc1_package 4. changed the IP in WHM for the account from ns3 IP to ns1 IP 5. changed the DNS entries in WHM ns3 changed to ns1 on all instances found there but i still have a downtime period now. everything looks fine in httpd.conf thou

How To Tar All Accounts (CPanel Server)
My server is having a big problem now. It started with very high server load After that I went to the datacenter to reboot the server, it then told me they were few errors 'touch' some files in /var/ giving message "System file read only" etc.. Then i rebooted the server again and again not knowing what to do and it logged me into single mode user and scan for me. Right now. I believe my hard disk had crashed or my system file is just a big mess error. I couldn't get the server to online. Right now. Q1: If I do full backup from reseller's cpanel, will it backup all accounts that I see from drop down menu? Or should I login each account to backup one by one? Cpanel Not Allowing Access To User Accounts

Now my second thought is that I should be logging into mydomain.com/cpanel rather than mydomain.com/whm but I get a 404 for /cpanel. Permissions For CPanel Accounts Created With WHM
I recently got a dedicated server (CentOS with WHM and cPanel) and I am a newbie when it comes to server admin. I had a hard time with the proper configuration so that Fantastico would work (it took their admin a week to figure out their own installation). In any case now I can use Fantastico to install scripts and the one I use the most is Joomla. There is a major problem though. So I create a new account in WHM (with root access or not), go to domain.com/cpanel, go to Fantastico and install Joomla. Then if I access files or folders through FTP using CoreFTP I can't change permissions (most of files or folders) and I can't edit files. (that's the case even for the accounts with root access). I can perform those actions if I log into WHM with my main root account and change what I need using a module called Configserver Explorer that shows all the files on the server (without that module I would be lost - I don't know all those shell commands) So can anyone help me with some proper configuration tips so that if I create user accounts (other then myself) they would have those permissions to edit or change stuff in their account? I come from shared hosting and never had these problems. They were allowing add-on domains and I could copy entire sites to other domain names with one click. Now WHM says it's not a good idea to allow add-on domains. No idea why. Any advise one that?

Cpanel Not Working... Need To Backup
As a background: They had uptime problems, which have since been resolved, however now they seem to have let their cpanel license lapse. Neither I, nor my clients (nor anyone else on the server, according to their forums), can log into CPanel or WHM, getting the error "Cannot read license file." In the beginning they kept saying it would be fixed in 24 hours. 3 weeks later, still waiting. At any rate, our biggest issue right now is that cpanel has not been working since the first week in July. I make weekly full backups, sent via ftp to a remote server, of all my client sites with a cronjob. Since cpanel has been offline, I haven't had a backup since July 1. I'm doing a straight FTP of all the sites' data individually to my hard drive as I'm not sure what else to do to back up their stuff. I guess my question is: If I have to resort to finding a new host (which, if this doesn't get resolved soon, I'll have to), will these straight FTP backups be enough to restore the sites, including mysql data, email accounts, cgi sections, .htaccess/.htpasswd files, etc? What about WHM data for my reseller account? My assumption is that this will be a lot more work, but hoping it's not my only option.

Cpanel And Mail Not Working
I set up a new account the other day and everything was set up as normal. My client cannot recieve their emails through outlook express and I cannot open their cpanel thrugh their url. I know I set everything up correct, and even deleted the account and created it again. I am lost on this one, this has never happen to me before.

Incremental Backup Of CPanel Accounts To A Remote Server
I want to back-up accounts managed by cPanel/WebHostManager to a remote server. I want to be able to restore to any of the last 7 days. I believe doing an incremental back-up each night can accomplish this best, saving both bandwidth and disk space on the remote server. Using the back-up functionality built into WHM is appealing because WHM knows what files need to be backed up to do a full restore. However, WHM can't do exactly what I'm looking for either. I've been looking into using rsync as described in this document: [url] It looks becaue of the "hard link" capabilities of linux, rsync can be used to create what functions like a full back-up every night but requires a full backup the first day and then each day after that only the incremental changes have to be transfered. However, because I don't know what directories need to be backed up, I'm not sure how to implement an rsyc solution either. (BTW, I want to back-up everything necessary to be able to restore each account except the log files. So, that means MySQL, mail, config info, and whatever the user has uploaded)

CPanel Stopped Working In Vista
Yesterday I could reach all of my cPanels on a Vista laptop; today they all time out. I can reach them with other computers. It doesn't matter if I go to mysite.com/cpanel or mysite.com:2082. I even added a port 2082 under Windows Firewall; no change. I'm not using any 3rd party firewalls. I did install a bittorrent client last night, then uninstalled it when it didn't work.
