Apache Is Working On Your CPanelŽ & WHM Server
I was changing IP Addresses on one of my domains on my VPS to a spare fresh IP.
Since doing this, my DNS hasn't fully propgated, so I'm then facing this message.
Apache is working on your cPanelŽ and WHM Server
Now my question is, how do I change this default green Cpanel page? Could I swap it with my own page?

CPanel/WHM Server - Email Not Working
Just got a new server online this week from VolumeDrive, and everything has been going just fine with my initial setup. I transferred over 7 domains from another cPanel/WHM machine and the transfer feature worked flawlessly. Since I use Gmail for most of my communication, I haven't even had any email accounts setup on any of my domains in quite sometime. So knowing that I need a few setup for various correspondence, I went ahead and set one up tonight. I've setup and used mailboxes on cPanel machines before, and it's not exactly rocket science... pretty easy stuff. But what's weird here is that when I attempt to click on the "Webmail" icon from directly within cPanel, the Horde login fails over and over again. Then, if I setup the account in Thunderbird or Outlook using the CORRECT account information (username@domain.com as the login -- and the appropriate password/server settings), the client login fails also. To add to this weird behavior, I sent myself an email at the newly setup address with a 2mb attachment. Obviously I can't login to the account to see if the mail arrived, but at least it didn't bounce. However, when I'm in cPanel under this domain and go to "Email Accounts", I'm showing "0 Bytes" for usage under the account where i know there should be at least 2mb worth of usage.

WHM Upgrade Caused Su To Stop Working
I have not logged into my server in about a week, and in during that time WHM updated itself. I logged into WHM yesterday and received the accept new license message. Then ssh'd into the server as my normal user, but can no longer su to root. When I try, it just says 'incorrect password', though I am entering the correct root password. I can ssh to the server as root and login no problem, using that password. As root, I can su to other users, but not the other way around. This has never been a problem until yesterday. This only happened in the last week, and the only thing that has happened is the SHM upgrade. Also, from within WHM, attempting to restart apache seems to stick with the progress meter on the screen forever. I am not sure if whm is attemtping to execute commands (like apache restart) with sudo, which may explain that behavior as sudo is no longer working either. Has anyone seen this with a WHM upgrade?

SSL Not Working On Apache 2
I have Fedora Core 6 with Apache 2. Im trying to generate a local SSL certificate but the folders ssl.key and ssl.crt are missing from the /etc/apache/conf folder. I installed mod-ssl and openssl and still same issue. What am I missing? Im installing everything through yum. I searched the whole drive and there is no folder called ssl.key or ssl.crt anywhere on the system. And right now I cant get port 443 work via the virtualhost config in httpd.conf: NameVirtualHost *:443 <VirtualHost *:443> DocumentRoot /var/www/html/mainsite ServerName mainsite.com </VirtualHost> After restarting apache and going to the mainsite via https it gives me the normal this is not a trusted certificate, I click ok and it takes me to /var/www/html/ instead of /var/www/html/mainsite. I was assuming because I dont have ssl setup correctly.

Cron - Not Working - Apache
I did not realize the significance of the Apache sub-forum. I thought perhaps this would be a more general Server management query, but I realize now I should have posted in Apache forum. I have been banging my head against the wall for the last couple of days trying to get cron jobs working. It's actually making me quite depressed, a lot of people are waiting on me to get this working, and for the life of me I see no light. I'm not a stupid person, i'm a PHP developer, and have some linux skills. This is the single most annoying issue I have had to deal with simply because I cannot find any troubleshooting methods to my issue. I have tried every different combination of command under the sun and I cannot get any sign that the cron is running the commands. I own a "virtual" dedicated server with a hosting company, I have full root access. Linux / Apache The script file is a PHP file which simply mail() an email saying that cron is working, I am yet to receive this mail that was executed by cron. I have ensured there are no errors in this simple PHP file, I have executed the script from the shell and all is well there.. So, firstly I tried to setup the cron table from CPanel, on the account where the script resides. I used the following command combinations: Code: 0-59 * * * * /usr/local/bin/php /home/username/public_html/cron.php 0-59 * * * * php -q /home/username/public_html/cron.php 0-59 * * * * php /home/username/public_html/cron.php 0-59 * * * * cd "/home/username/public_html/"; php cron.php 0-59 * * * * wget [url] with time combinations of: * * * * * to get the command to be executed evey minute, for testing purposes. All these commands work fine when executed through the shell. I set the mail address for cron output to be my mail address also. I do not get any mail from cpanel with an overview of the cron executions. I then gave up trying to get cron to work on that account, and decided to go root. I logged into the shell via root, checked the cron table for root. I edited the root cron table (that contains commands for various cpanel scripts etc) to include a command to execute the php script, even with the script residing on the root directory. I also added MAILTO="myemail@email.com" to the first line of the cron table. I do not get any emails of the cron actions. How can I check if the cron scheduler is working when I get no sign that the cron commands are being executed, and when I do not receive any cron emails? What methods are there for me to troubleshoot this issue? Could it be possible that cron shedular is not active on my server? I have lurked the net with great detail to find any method to troubleshoot my issue, and all the related pages I find are to do with troubleshooting the commands. I know my commands are fine, there is some other issue here.

Used Apache Update/some PHP Scripts No Longer Working
Having some issues here, I used Apache Update to install WHMCS as I didn't have Curl installed. Well had some issues using the username and password as it couldn't connect to the database, my modernbill and phpnuke scripts still work but some other scripts like joomla, some shopping cart software, and other MYSQL scripts are not working. I've run test scripts to see if I can connect to the database, got the following error with the PHP test script Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Access denied for user 'data_invoice'@'localhost' (using password: YES) in /home/data/public_html/test2.php on line 4 I cannot connect to the database because:Access denied for user 'data_invoice'@'localhost' (using password: YES) Also attempted it in SSH and getting a similar error that access is denied. Username and password are correct. I believe I upgraded PHP which my guess is what caused this. I've searched the forum for a few solutions and I had the problem in the past which I fixed it, but it's been a while.

When I type vent.mydomain.com into a browser it take me to the cPanel/WHM page saying "Great Success, Apache is working". Is it possible that I can somehow have that get redirected to the main site or no? WHM And Name Server

Now I am using the new server as a development server for my new site and when it's ready I would like to flick the switch and have my domain point to the new server. I noticed the name servers on both the new and old server are the same E.G. NS1.XYDOMAIN.COM NS2.XYDOMAIN.COM The name server shares the same name as my domain (www.XYDOMAIN.com) I'm worried that I will accidentely delegate my domain to my new server. So what do I do to set up my server just to host my development files but leave the current server to host the live site? And what is the easiest way to switch the development server into the live site? I'm a complete noob, so you may need to explain to me as a monkey I have root access.

Getting More Out Of LogWatch On A CPanel/WHM Server
I was searching for something else the other day and came across this (search for LogWatch on the page). It changes the default paths for some of the log files so that they work on a cPanel/WHM server. This will give you more reports in your daily LogWatch email - specifically, it adds exim, apache, courier and PureFTP logs. Most tutorials only show you how to change the detail level or the email address in logwatch.conf. So, I thought I'd share this piece of information. I found that a few changes were necessary for my system. So, I'll give all the steps I followed below: 1) After you have installed LogWatch, change the following in /usr/share/logwatch/default.conf/logwatch.conf : Code: Detail = High MailTo = <your email address> You can use Detail = Med if you want to reduce the details you get. 2) Add the following to /etc/logwatch/conf/override.conf (you may have to create the file): Code: logfiles/exim: LogFile = exim_mainlog logfiles/http: LogFile = /usr/local/apache/logs/access_log services/pop3: *OnlyService = cpanelpop services/pop3: *RemoveHeaders = 1 services/pureftpd: LogFile = messages services/pureftpd: $show_logins = 1 services/pureftpd: $show_logouts = 1 services/pureftpd: $show_new_connections = 1 So, if you are not bored reading LogWatch's daily logs and would like to increase your workload, you now know how to How have you configured your LogWatch installation ? Or do you use something other than LogWatch?

I'm doing this because its just so much easier to copy an ad, or web site or whatever i do to the server via my home network so the client can see the project pretty much in realtime (some ads are like 800mb) . ALSO i'm trying to set up exchange so my motorola q will have realtime email. Anyway, so "mysite.com -A record -i.p.addy" Now the site comes up.. and i get emails.. but i cant 'send' any emails and windows server is telling me i have a non existing domain name. so the question is am going way over my head and should i just use a service like no-ip or dyndns or can this be done?

Adding IPs To CPanel/WHM Server
I have setup a new cpanel/whm server. The main IP address works fine and I added the additional IP addresses the datacenter gave me. That was yesterday, today I logged on and when I go to IP Functions >> Show or Delete Current IP Addresses all the addresses I added yesterday are showing up in red text and I cant ping any of them, not even if I ping them from the server itself. Seems that when I rebooted the server after the initial cpanel setup something has caused this. Trouble is my name servers are sitting on 2 of the malfunctioning ip addresses so they arent working at all. I have tried removing them ad re-adding them and they still show red.

WHM: Domain Name Server (DNS) Sometimes Resolves To Wrong IP
I have a dedicated WHM server (qumbia.org) with several CPanel accounts, among them: - qumibiao (qumbia.org). - qumbiaca (qumbia.ca). Both of these accounts were set to the same ip (70.86.221.122). 15 days ago, I changed qumbiaca to the ip 70.86.221.123 Since, some requests (about 1% of the total according to my logs) for qumbia.ca are still serving up what's in /home/qumbiao/public_html I know next to nothing about this, but perhaps some ISPs have cached the 70.86.221.122 IP and are directing requests there? Still, why wouldn't WHM, upon receiving such a request, resolve it to the right address, it being on the same server? My Time to live record is set to 24 hours on my DNS, and the expire header set to 41 days. Might it be a good idea to set up a new DNS (NS3.QUMBIA.ORG) on my WHM and give that DNS to qumbia.ca? Would this force the ISPs to reset their cache? Or does the problem lie elsewhere? Should I just wait out the 41-day expire period and hope for the best?

Lower CPU Mhz In WHM, Server Information
I was checking my server information today on WHM panel and this is what I saw: Processor #1 Vendor: GenuineIntel Processor #1 Name: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6700 @ 2.66GHz Processor #1 speed: 1596.000 MHz Processor #1 cache size: 4096 KB Processor #2 Vendor: GenuineIntel Processor #2 Name: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6700 @ 2.66GHz Processor #2 speed: 2660.000 MHz Processor #2 cache size: 4096 KB Why is the Processor #1 speed labeled as 1.6 ghz? Processor #2 speed never goes down no matter how high the load is. Could it be the reason that my server can't handle 4 websites with a cumulative total of 20k unique hits per day?
