We had many backups stored on our Plesk 12 server about 51 GB in total.
After reducing the backups back to 10 GB by removing old backups through the Backup Manager.
The issue is that Health Monitor still reported that there was low diskspace displayed by color yellow. And it look Health Monitor over 16 minutes to change the alarm level from Yellow to Green
However the statistics at the specific subscription still present the Backup usage of 51 GB's whilest they are no longer there.
What can i do about this in order to speed up the synchronization?
I am using Servint and I am looking for another provider with similar reputation/reliability. I have heard many good things about Zone.net on this forum, but they don't have any reviews older than a few months. Have they been around long, if so, why no early posts?

Overall my server is running just fine but these odd long running MySQL process have me worried.
Just wondering... When I set my A-name records in my Domain-provider control panel, it takes almost 24hours to take effect sometimes, yet other times it can be almost instant...
I was just wondering, from a technical point of view, why this is. Does anyone know?
i have a reseller package with a small company for like almost a year but now is full so decide to get a 2 servers from The Planet and now i all ready have 2 servers one is for sell hosting and my other is for install a script like youtube for a site videos .

First i get the domain from godaddy now lets work with this example domain [ mydomain.com ] how i can add this domain to setup my servers
i have 2 servers
server1 this is for star selling hosting
server2 this is for my video script
Now how i can setup this 2 server with my domain and the dns step by step and this things so i can star selling hosting
the error log shows nothing out of the ordinary.. but its taking about 2-3 minutes to start.. which before it would take about 10 seconds.
load is fine on the machine, free mem is fine also.
Recently however it seems they're getting some bad press, most people are blaming growing pains.
As someone who's seen the before and after picture, i thought i'd chime in and actually put some positive notes on these boards, as I know these guys deserve more credit than this! It's one of those situations where if something goes wrong, people complain, if everything is right, not enough people speak up!
Server speed / specs:
one word: fantastic. i now have 2 VPSs with them - one in their new data center. I had moved the 2nd VPS from another host (also very well known on these boards, who I won't mention) where I had been having loads of issues regarding load and IO wait times. Load would spike up to 20+, server would crash, reboot, and this would happen 20+ times a day. Nothing critical on that server. Post-migration, using very very similar specs on futurehosting, and the load has been <0.10 since I started her up 3 days ago.
My current server sees load going up once in a while - during a large scale DOS attack last month the load only went up to 4, with over 1000 TCP connections. I only realized there was an issue as I checked one of my status scripts and noticed the enormous tcp count. I've recently moved to a new VPS on a new node, and load has been incredible, along with responsiveness.
No complaints at all on that front.
Network performance
Their old data center, softlayer, has much to be desired. There has been at least one outage every month so far which lasts in the hours duration. However, FH has made the very wise option of expanding out to a new datacenter and will hopefully slowly phase out softlayer, which has become quite pathetic. Connectivity wise though (speed/bandwidth) - no complaints.
Support
I remember getting a response within minutes months ago. However, that being said, months ago the customer service could only deal with the most basic of problems, and would escalate the issue if it was complicated, which would take time for a response.
FH did go through a growing pains phase a little while ago with regards to customer service - you wouldn't get a response too quick.
However now it seems they have begun improving. They are expanding their support base, and if you deal with the support guys you'll definitely be impressed by how dedicated and "hardcore" they are. Very recently I had a major issue with my server - it got compromised via root and someone wreaked havoc. Some script was installed that basically self-DOS'ed the server and basically killed it.
FH support instantly shut down the server and put me back up on my old server which I had migrated from only a week ago. They thoroughly went through and wiped clean my current server, fully bullet-proofed it and cleaned up the security of it all (something that was not a problem when they set it up - but rather my fault over time as I had disabled some very silly things I shouldn't have...) The guy working on the server, Jim, worked his *** off, pulled an all nighter (he was still responding to my tickets at 9am GMT, which was 4am his time - and I know he's not a night shift guy!). By the end of it all, he put me back onto my current newly-secured server, and was still revving to go, asking me what I wanted and to give him another challenge!
So, to sum this section--
good attitude: check
know-how: check
laziness: none.
I guarantee one thing - the vps company I just moved my 2nd vps from in this situation would not have spent an entire night rebuilding my server the way it was, but would've simply put me back on my old one week image, said "oh well, sorry, bad luck" and moved on.
All in all, my experience with these guys over the past couple of weeks (since the new data center opened) has been nothing short of positive, and I know they're rising out of the slight slump they had gotten themselves into.
I'll submit my URL to the mod to verify this post. And no, I don't work with FH
I had Qmail installed and configure more than 2 years.

How long is a acceptable waiting time? just signed up to Dedishack - yesterday, Monday and been told I need to wait till Thursday.
Acceptable waiting time?
Not in a rush and I am not complaining just curious. First time I have had to wait for a dedicated server should be worth the wait though.
I bought a VPS its taken 18 hours still no setup is this normal?

experience with InterServer, may I know how long it took for your servers to be set up?
I had order a server, received an order confirmation email. Then I paid through PayPal and that was the end of it. No payment confirmation.
My order status in the member page is still "pending".
Is this normal? I've only order about slightly more than a day ago.
I am currently planning to move from my current provider to Hetzner.de, and wanted to synchronize this in a way that would avoid too much overlay, basically don't want to double pay for a whole month.
I asked hetzner.de support how long it takes to setup a root server, and their answer was "up to 3 weeks", and asking for the average did not help.
how long it usually takes to setup a server there? Isn't 3 weeks too long?
Due to continuing problems with my current provider, I have signed up for a managed DirectAdmin VPS with Virpus.
I'll post reviews as time passes but I just wanted to post that I ordered at 3:55pm and I was setup just after 5pm. That is awesome setup time. I've now requested initial hardening and optimization, since I have a managed package. I don't expect it to be as fast (it is Sunday after all), but the setup time was awesome. I don't even know how they got a DA licence that fast, I thought that was a real bottleneck sometimes.
Whats the turnaround time for liqudweb? They had called me and confirmed my account is verified but thats more than 14 hrs back and yet no sign of getting information about the new account setup.
When I called customer support line, the guy "not sure when the account will be setup "
1.) Placed and paid new linux vps on 24th
2.) VPS status is 'setup', but did not got login details
3.) Submit ticket via [url] after 3 days, still no one reply
4.) Sent message to his MSN before, but no reply after forward to tech
I just ordered a vps from them. its been exactly 22 hours since i paid for the vps server. How long does it take them 2 generally set up accounts? Any current web wide hosting vps customers on this forum?

I am wondering what you think the average amount of time it should take to setup a firewall under the following circumstances.
The firewall in question is a Cisco ASA 5505
Say you have the firewall now but it is unstable so you an RMA to replace it, all the config rules are already known and can be seen in the old firewall when the new one arrives. There are only about 25 ACL rules and 6 object-groups that the ACLs use. There is NAT running with ~23 IPs that are statically routed to internal IPs and it has a VPN configured.
How long do you think it should take to configure the new firewall to act like the old one and replace the old one?
what is the setup time of leaseweb servers after payment?
View 4 Replies View RelatedHotmail doesn't work. The email filtering technologies are still broken 18 months after the original problems were found with their implementation. And now it looks like they've stopped supporting it.
Seriously, does anyone know if the email filtering team at Microsoft has just given up on responding to requests and complaints? We've just deployed two new servers and both are blocked for delivering email to clients Hotmail/MSN/Live.com accounts.
The following steps have been taken:
1. Our DNS has been tested and checked using DNSstuff.com services.
2. Our server IP addresses checked to ensure they do not appear in any blacklists.
3. rDNS correctly setup for hostnames and mailserver names.
4. All our email is signed using DomainKeys.
5. All our domain names have published SPF records.
6. All our domain names have valid abuse@ and postmaster@ email addresses.
7. We have emailed senderid@microsoft.com notifying them as requested on postmaster.msn.com of our published SPF records.
8. We have even completed the senderid support form providing further notification here:
[url]
9. I have contacted the technical support team using the contact form on [url] witn absolutely no success.
Two weeks later I've made no progress whatsoever beyond receiving a request to complete a survey rating the non-existent support I have received. (No human has responded to any of my messages) And all our messages to Hotmail are still disappearing into the email filtering black-hole.
At this point I'm starting to wonder if Hotmail is even usable as an email service anymore. I doubt many people will be bothering to jump through all the hoops I am to resolve this issue. I dread to think how much legitimate email is getting caught up in the Microsoft email filtering black-hole - never providing any notification or information to senders their messages were not delivered.
Meanwhile, our email arrives perfectly in Yahoo/Gmail who both pass our SPF records and DomainKeys signatures. Oh, and we're not engaging in any email marketing practises (i.e. spam).
This is a rare issue i have on a RHEL 5.2 + cPanel server.
Server time is:
Tue Nov 11 17:02:51 CST 2008
Squirrelmail time show:

So, that is correct too..
But email arrives with -4 hours time, example:

I already rebooted httpd, exim, and imap server, and the server itself too.. and problem stills.
I can't get access to a certain site. I always get the page with:
network time out - server at *** takes to long to respons. More people have noticed this and apparently it only happens to people with certain specific providers. And not all the time. Some times they DO get access eventy to they belong to the same ISP. So I guess an ISP isn't blocking access to it otherwise it would be permenantly/The site administrator insists that certain ISP's are blocking his site. He's hosting it on his own server. The domain belongs is registered at namecheap.com.
If an ISP is blocking this site (if that's possible?), that would lead to that 'network timeout' page wouldn't it?
What is the most likely reason for getting a timeout page anyway?
I was making a kernel update today. And i made a mistake and server is offline now. I created a ticket at 1 pm to vectoral.
I also scheduled kvm to earliest time, same day at 8 pm.
And i create a ticket them asking if they have a chance to schedule an earlier kvm for me. 12 hours passed, no answer.
I know about usually it takes 24 hours to reply tickets but i don't want any help from my hosting company. I just want them to put kvm to my server.
And about schedule, it says i scheduled kvm for 22 April at 8 pm. It is now 23 April 12:40 am at England time. And that request is still pending.
Most of the time, even there is no officially time table for support, vectoral's support doesn't answer threads before 12 pm.
I am wondering what kind of support team they have, i guess they are checking tickets every 2 days.
I just signed up with a new host. How long should I expect it to transfer sites through WHM? I know it depends on the size of the sites but how long does the average 100M site?
