Oct 9, 2013Incoming mail on several devices with various operating systems gives me no trouble at all. However I can not find the right settings for outgoing mail for Thunderbird 24.0.
For incoming mail I noticed I had to submit mail.<name>.be and port 143, no authentication and non-encrypted password. And it works.
For outgoing mail server I've tried a lot of options:
mail.<name>.be, all ports tested, all authentication options, and with both encrypted or non-encrypted passwords, in every combination of these settings.

Aug 25, 2014I have a problem with one of my user accounts (let's call it testuser) in Plesk. System is Windows Server 2012 R2 with Plesk 12.In the Control Panel, the customer and subscription for testuser are removed, so there should not be any data left for the domain/user.
However, when I want to create a new subscription with the username testuser, Plesk gives the error "User account already exists". I tried to manually remove the domain and took the following steps:

As described in this topic, I logged in to the MySQL server and tried to remove the user:

Sep 12, 2014I have a dedicated server and I am about to get a few high traffic sites that will be Joomla based and MySQL served. What I am thinking a about is to create another MySQL instance, leave the current websites on the "old" instance and get the new ones onto a separate instance.
I am on PPP 11.0.9 on windows and the current mysql version is 5.1.56 on port 3306 (I can get other ports for other instances).
What I did was the following:
In the Database Servers page, I hit "Add Database Server"
In the next page I add the following:
MySQL (from the dropdown)
localhost
3307
(leave blank the default check box)
I then add the Administrator's username and passwords and hit OK.
The next page, reports an error message (in between asterisks below):

No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.

The primary (eg. current) mysql instance is working fine, it's just I cannot add a second server...

Mar 10, 2015I have plesk12 set up but when i set a mail (dovecot) password, it gets stored in plain text (which I can verify by running /usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/mail_auth_view ). I would like to change this default setting to be encrypted.

Oct 5, 2013I run a website that uses a GoDaddy Virtual Private Server & Plesk. The website sends emails to alert users of various events. For the most part, this works but I occasionally capture the following error message:
Error in processing. The server response was: Requested action aborted: This mail account has sent too many messages in a short amount of time. Please try later.
Can the number of messages sent over X number of minutes be set via Plesk? If so, how?

May 2, 2012One of my customer has a imap account installed on a Ipad, Iphone, Mac... Server : Plesk 10.4.4 (Centos).
Alternately, the account connection doesn't work ("impossible to connect to imap.xxx.com...").
I've modify imap file with this :
MAXDAEMONS=80
MAXPERIP=40
And after "service courier-imap restart".
But there is always the problem...

It needs the following DNS records
Record type: SRV
Service name *: _Autodiscover
Protocol name *: _tcp (it will automatically add your domain and to edit it again shows as invalid)
Port number *: 443
Priority of service: very high(0)
Weight of service: theres no 0 option so use 10 as the option and to edit it again shows as invalid)
Target host *: use your mail ip address?

Jun 13, 2014I use Plesk 11.5.3 and have a problem with adding new customer. When i have add a new customer and type the domain in my browser, I have to authorisize, but I haven't set up a protect folder know. What's wrong with my plesk? I think this is a permission problem with IIS.

Nameservers and mail server are external servers and fully working.I have a 'fake' web site (roundcube. local) in which I've successfully installed roundcube and I would use it as webmail.I've added a domain alias 'webmail2.domain.com' and it works like a charm.Now I've moved the main domain "domain.com" on the plesk server and I would like to add a 'webmail.domain.com' domain alias to the 'roundcube.local' website.If I try to do it, I receive this error:
"Error: Wrong prefix for domain alias"..Even if I try to add webmail.anotherdomain.com (not installed on the Plesk server) I get the same error.The error shows up either the host is configured to the Plesk machine or not.If I set the binding directly in IIS it works but I'd like to use the plesk to do this.

Apr 25, 2014I recently purchased a dedicated server with Godaddy, I also registered a domain with same Godaddy.
Now when I tried to add a new domain in plesk, I got a warning message that "the domain is pointed to 192.198.XX.XX" which is different from my dedicated server IP. The message also says I should edit the DNS.
Now my question is What do I need to edit from the default dns plesk has assigned to my domain? Do I need to use the domain's default IP. I want to be able to host multiple website on my server...

Feb 1, 2015Using Plesk 12 with an automated install of Wordpress. Created a site locally using wamp and after some database related issues finally managed to upload the content using a plug in and the content looks fine and largely(!) works.The directory structure is root/httpdocs/wordpress (and I can't change that as a webapp is using it - presumably the Wordpress install).
Following various articles on the net I've deleted the Wordpress skeleton files and index.html file however I'm not entirely sure whether the index.php file should directly be under root or in the httpdocs folder?? - as wherever I put index.php and edit the path accordingly it doesn't display the site.Adding the wordpress folder into the site address ie mysite.com/wordpress displays the content.
Also one article indicated that as I'm using permalinks I need to also copy the .htaccess file but it doesn't display in the Plesk file manager. I know it's a hidden file but I can't see it either when forcing FileZilla to show hidden files.[edit - as it's a windows server, further reading indicates it should be web.config rather than .htaccess (?) but the same comment applies... imh]

Aug 16, 2013I'm trying to use server side includes in a PHP website but am getting the error open_basedir restriction in effect.
I've tried going in to the PHP Settings for the website and have selected the predefined option
{DOCROOT}{/}{:}{TMP}{/}
Which as I understand it should allow access to all files within my httpdocs folder but I still get the error:

The thing is I know 100% that the file it's having a problem with is in a subfolder of the
F:PLESKWWWwebsitedesign.comhttpdocs folder (the full F:PLESKWWWwebsitedesign.comhttpdocssparklyphpcmsinccheckAdminLogin.php).
