Plesk 11.x / Windows :: Detailed Error Messages Not Being Displayed
Dec 2, 2014I have a Plesk 11.5 server that someone made changes to in IIS to allow web site users to turn the sending of detailed error messages on and off from a web.config file. Unfortunately now none of the sites will send detailed error messages to the browser no matter what is done. The person that made the changes to IIS did not document them properly and cannot tell me what exactly they changed. None of the obvious settings have made an effect on the problem.

Feb 5, 2015i registered some new domains and wanted to add them via Plesk. Before i did that i got the stanard Plesk default page saying that i have to add the domains via plesk as usual.
When i did that the domain switched to a white page and is not able to load .html pages, i can load a phpinfo.php or install wordpress etc. but when i try to load a simple .html file with css or something, i only get a whitepage..
i dont know why this is happening, other domains from december are working fine, new ones wont. the error.logs are empty and even after a whole server restart it wont work.I´m using Ubuntu 14.04 LTS Server 64bit + Plesk 12.0.18
Plesk 12.x / Windows :: Invalid File Size Displayed In Backup Manager Server Repository
Nov 11, 2014First of all I checked via command line if any software is not installed properly while plesk installation was done on destination server (windows server 2012 R2). All looks fine, please check attached file pleskinstallation.txt
Source plesk version 10.4.4 (windows server 2008)
Destination plesk version 12.0.18 MU#23 built.
We are in testing mode of migrating websites hosted with source plesk version 10.4.4 onto destination server plesk server 12.0.18 having (windows server 2012 R2).
What we did, we restored the backup of Source plesk version 10.4.4 (windows server 2008) to Destination plesk version 12.0.18 MU#23 built.
Now the problem is that backup which we restored on Destination plesk version 12.0.18 MU#23 was of 68 GB and now when we setup the backup on Destination plesk version 12.0.18 MU#23 and when backup completes successfully it show us wrong backup size up to 16 GB.
We have requested several times to plesk support has to check the entire new plesk version in terms of all feature (like taking backup, restoring, plesk installation etc) while releasing new version, If they have noticed bug than plesk support should not release new version or micro update until they are sure.
I would request them again to check backup size bug along with other bugs.

Jun 21, 2014I have a problem with my server. I am trying to make a subdomain, and it isn't working. I create it like how in all tutorials says here( click here ) . I completed all fields, but when i try to open the subdomain in a browser page, it's telling me, page not found / page doesn't exist. I have a dedicated server on window server 2008 for my website with a dedicated IP.

It needs the following DNS records
Record type: SRV
Service name *: _Autodiscover
Protocol name *: _tcp (it will automatically add your domain and to edit it again shows as invalid)
Port number *: 443
Priority of service: very high(0)
Weight of service: theres no 0 option so use 10 as the option and to edit it again shows as invalid)
Target host *: use your mail ip address?

Sep 12, 2014I have a dedicated server and I am about to get a few high traffic sites that will be Joomla based and MySQL served. What I am thinking a about is to create another MySQL instance, leave the current websites on the "old" instance and get the new ones onto a separate instance.
I am on PPP 11.0.9 on windows and the current mysql version is 5.1.56 on port 3306 (I can get other ports for other instances).
What I did was the following:
In the Database Servers page, I hit "Add Database Server"
In the next page I add the following:
MySQL (from the dropdown)
localhost
3307
(leave blank the default check box)
I then add the Administrator's username and passwords and hit OK.
The next page, reports an error message (in between asterisks below):

Error: Test connection to the database server has failed because of network problems:
No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.

The primary (eg. current) mysql instance is working fine, it's just I cannot add a second server...

Nameservers and mail server are external servers and fully working.I have a 'fake' web site (roundcube. local) in which I've successfully installed roundcube and I would use it as webmail.I've added a domain alias 'webmail2.domain.com' and it works like a charm.Now I've moved the main domain "domain.com" on the plesk server and I would like to add a 'webmail.domain.com' domain alias to the 'roundcube.local' website.If I try to do it, I receive this error:
"Error: Wrong prefix for domain alias"..Even if I try to add webmail.anotherdomain.com (not installed on the Plesk server) I get the same error.The error shows up either the host is configured to the Plesk machine or not.If I set the binding directly in IIS it works but I'd like to use the plesk to do this.

Apr 25, 2014I recently purchased a dedicated server with Godaddy, I also registered a domain with same Godaddy.
Now when I tried to add a new domain in plesk, I got a warning message that "the domain is pointed to 192.198.XX.XX" which is different from my dedicated server IP. The message also says I should edit the DNS.
Now my question is What do I need to edit from the default dns plesk has assigned to my domain? Do I need to use the domain's default IP. I want to be able to host multiple website on my server...

Aug 16, 2013I'm trying to use server side includes in a PHP website but am getting the error open_basedir restriction in effect.
I've tried going in to the PHP Settings for the website and have selected the predefined option

Which as I understand it should allow access to all files within my httpdocs folder but I still get the error:

Apr 14, 2014A few months ago we had upgraded our server from Win 2k3 with Plesk 8.6 to Win 2k8 with Plesk 11.5.30 migrating all the domains. After migrating, all the domains are working fine, but when trying to access the control panel using a specific user we get always the error "the page isn't redirecting properly" in different browsers, login in with Admin user it works perfect, or even with a different domain user.
Tried already to change the subscription to a different owner and get it back, it didn't work neither on the different owner or the original one.
Tried also:
"%plesk_bin%"websrvmng.exe --configure-anonymous-access
"%plesk_bin%"websrvmng.exe --remove-sites-cache
"%plesk_bin%"websrvmng.exe --configure-plesk-website
When I get this error, the address bar always changes to https://server-ip.com:8443/smb/
I may guess that when migrating this domain, user roles where not upgraded correctly
Plesk 11.x / Windows :: Web Page Displaying Related Links
Oct 1, 2014I was asked by a user why he only saw a page with 'related links' when he went to the web site. I checked and saw the same thing if I typed www.domain.tld. If I just typed domain.tld, the page displayed fine. In trying different things tonite, I cleared my cache and now neither url works.
I am using Parallels Plesk Panel 11.5.3. If I click the 'Preview' button on the panel, everything looks great. If I click the 'Open' button, I get the 'related links' page.Today, the shcnf.com link seems to be working fine and the 'Open' button in Parallels Plesk Panel works, but the www.shcnf.com link is still showing a 'related links' page.
My DNS settings show:
shcnf.com record type: A value: 198.144.188.31
www.shcnf.com record type: CNAME value: shcnf.com
I do not currently have a preferred domain set in my hosting settings. I tried setting one the other night with no luck, though I was also playing with the DNS settings (I tried setting www.shcnf.com to an A value with the IP, hoping to force it to work).

When I select a Website and want to change the php settings for that page it wont apply the new settings.
I placed a phpinfo() file in the Folder of that Website to test that. The weird thing is when i change the memory_limt value it is visible on the phpinfo() but when i change post_max_size or upload_max_filesize nothing changes.

Creating Subdomains In A IIS / Windows Environment
Jun 24, 2009I am trying to create a subdomain on my dedicated server myself without paying 20 bucks to get it done through the host. I've been able to create the directory through IIS Manager and have it setup to point to a specific IP.
I'm not entirely sure what to do from this point on....When I type in the subdomain on the browser, it says it can't find it, so I'm guessing I have to do something through the DNS but not sure on how to do this.
It's IIS 6 on a Windows 2003 Server.
Adding A Linux Machine To Windows Domain Controller
Oct 24, 2008We have a domain portal controller for windows. All the machines in the n/w are connected to it. So, when ever an user enters the user name and password it gets authenticated from the domain portal controller. So, my login can be accessed anywhere in the netowrk.
Example : my login is sabarishks which can be used in any machine under this domain controller.
But, if the system is installed with both linux and windows only windows username will be authenticated using the domain controller. Whereas, the linux users will work with in the system using /etc/shadow file. Hope, I am clear so far.
The requirement is same as above. The authentication mechanism for linux should work as windows. When ever an user is entered with a username and passwd, it should get authenticated from domain controller.
I mean, the user created in a windows machine should be used for linux login also. More importantly, It should work in all systems.
Which technology can be used to do this? Samba,Ldap, NFs or what?
Adding Of User Defined Services In Windows 2000 Server

But it seemed to apply to Microsoft Windows 2003 Server as there isn't instsrv or srvany in Windows 2000 server even after I uploaded the Resource Kit Tools. Am I missing something?
Or can someone tell me where to download these for Windows 2000?
Wildcard DNS Subdomains Working, But Existing Subdomains Not
May 7, 2007I've set up the affiliate manager from jrox.com for a client of mine. This includes the setup of wildcard DNS so that each affiliate can have username.clientssite.com and have it count their clicks - which works properly.
What isn't working properly is that he also has forums.hissite.com, which is loading the main website page instead of his forums. He is using cpanel to add the subdomain, and it isn't failing, so I'm not sure what's going on with it.
