Plesk 11.x / Windows :: Thunderbird 24.0 Outgoing Mail Settings
Oct 9, 2013
Incoming mail on several devices with various operating systems gives me no trouble at all. However I can not find the right settings for outgoing mail for Thunderbird 24.0.
For incoming mail I noticed I had to submit mail.<name>.be and port 143, no authentication and non-encrypted password. And it works.
For outgoing mail server I've tried a lot of options:
mail.<name>.be, all ports tested, all authentication options, and with both encrypted or non-encrypted passwords, in every combination of these settings.
smtp.<name>.be , all ports tested, all authentication options, and with both encrypted or non-encrypted passwords, in every combination of these settings.
<name>.be, all ports tested, all authentication options, and with both encrypted or non-encrypted passwords, in every combination of these settings.
Since 12.0.18, when I go to Tools & Settings > Mail Server, I get this error message on the page:
"Error: The limits on outgoing mail will not work for the subscriptions that have IP addresses from the white list. To make the limits work, remove IP addresses from the mail server's white list".
However, the whitelist page just contains 127.0.0.0/8 and ::1/128, and all my subscriptions have an external IP address which is clearly not in the whitelist.
When I am trying to configure my e-mail in outlook 2010 / Thunderbird, the incoming Server don't respond (IMAP/POP3) but for the outgoing, it works perfectly. Webmail is full functional.
As the admin user, change the setting for a particular email account called "The maximum number of outgoing email messages" to a value beyond the default. For example if the default is 35, set it to 75. This is common -- often we have customers who send larger quantities of messages than the average user.
Login as a reseller with access to manage the email account and attempt to change any *other* value. For example, you could completely ignore the outgoing mail messages value and change just the Auto-Reply value
Plesk refuses to allow the change and kicks me back to the first tab with the following error:
The value must be in the range 0..35. Only the Plesk administrator can adjust this setting.Click to expand...
How can I limit outgoing mail hourly or daily (per mail account) on Plesk 11 Windows? I know I can do that with MailEnable Enterprise version, but I want to know if there any other way to do that.
I tried to configure windows live mail for an email account. Domain is hosted on a windows Plesk server. Incoming mail is working but unable to send outgoing mails.

I am having a problem setting mails on Thunderbird.i did exactly as you said in the documentation but still receive an error for sending an email (incoming email is good).i used full email address as username.domainname.tld as Incoming/Outgoing server address.
port 25 and 143 but still seem that i can't send emails.via web-mail i can , but via Thunderbird on my local PC i can't.I have a dedicated windows server with plesk 11.0.9
I upgraded from 11 to 12 (centOS) and set outgoing mail limits for mailboxes, domains and subscriptions, as per the documentation at URL....However, it doesn't appear the limits are limiting outgoing mail. As I can still send far more mail than the current limit using a PHP script.

how to configure outgoing mail limits? I've also read through the sendmail documentation but couldn't find anything.
how can we limit the maximum number of e-mails that can be sent by a domain in PLesk. We are facing issues where out server IP is getting blocked by some e-mail providers for bulk mailing.
We are facing issue with option " Switch on limitations on outgoing email messages", after the plesk upgrade to 12.0.18. Please find our license details

For some reason some clients including my own test account have not been able to receive emails correctly. Basically if I send email to an external add such as Yahoo, Gmail, AOL etc, they receive them fine. However all incoming mail is blank for all clients? I mean blank as it there is no time or date stamp, no sender details unless you look in the header and the title just displays unknown?
Has anyone an idea why or how this could have happened?
I've even tried these with all spam filters off etc. I think the mail prog is qmail.
- I make changes to the PHP settings but they don't seem to take effect. I even had tried making the changes in the php.ini file, but some of the changes here don't take effect either. I have found similiar posts, but resolutions that work. I have restarted the IIS service after the changes, but this did not change the results I see in phpinfo();.
Examples of Changes Not Taking Effect:
- I changed "error_log" in PHP Settings. phpinfo showed no value for error_log. I changed error_log in php.ini and the change took effect for both local and global. - memory_limit is set to 128M in php.ini. It shows as 32M for local and 128M for global with phpinfo(). No matter what I change this to (some value, "-1", default) in 'PHP Settings', the value does not change for local. - The same problem with 'memory_limit' also occurs for post_max_size. - PHP 5.2 and 5.4 are installed. If I change the version under the 'General' tab, it stays as 5.2.17 in phpinfo(). - I have changed the error_log setting in php.ini and 'PHP Settings', but still nothing is logged in the error_log file with safe_mode on or off (set to local directory). There is a note out there saying that with PHP 5.2, safe_mode on will not write to file. - I have performed IIS Restarts, but this did not make any settings take effect. - I also have tried changing PHP settings under the 'general' and "PHP Settings' tab, both under the website area and the advanced options->Website Scripting and Security. So the 'website' settings would be specific for the website and under 'Website Scripting and Security' would be for the webspace. Changing in either location does not make a difference.
Other Note - I discovered this, because a client was getting a 501 when performing a post, which also sent an email. If he attached a file larger than 7MB to his form, the code would fail with a 501 error. After investigating, the "To" field was blank if a person attached a file larger than 7MB. Defnitely seems to be a memory issue. But since no log file, nor will my settings take effect, I have not been able to resolve this.
PLESK Version - 11.0.9 Update #62 on Windows 2008 and IIS is the web server.
It looks like a change was made to the firewall settings (I think this was done by .net microsoft patch).I have manually added mysql-nt to the firewall ruleset, and this has allowed MySql to talk to the application. (Wordpress websites are now working)I still get the same error when i try to log in to the control panel.
ERROR: PleskMainDBException MySQL server has gone away
I wanted to select I want PHP 5.4 instead of 5.3 and to disable AWStats for the domain. This is what I got :-(

We received the following request from customer in order for his website to function properly:
Go to the control panel of your Windows Server change Regional Settings so that the default language iS Greek.
Also, change the collation of Microsoft SQL Server to Greek-Accent Insensitive-Case Insensitive.
Will these create any problems to the rest of the websites that are hosted on the server? And if no, how to change the collation of the Microsoft SQL Server?
How is the Number of outgoing Mails counted by mails or by recipients?
With a limit of 25 mails per hour is it possible to send 25 mails with 200 recipients each before they will be blocked or will one mail with more the 25 recipients exceed the limit?
I've searched, since about update 37 the outgoing mail control has stopped working for all of my domains. I get a hacker sendmail script uploaded sometimes and it used to catch it. Now it allows them to send and isn't detected them, maxing out my relays.
In the documentation for Plesk 12 there is no information on what is happening if the limit for outgoing mail is reached.
If there is a limit of 50 mails per hour on a mail account and someone is trying to send 60 mails in one hour, what does happen with these 10 mails over limit?
1. Are there send 50 mails and the rest of 10 mails are deleted and will never be sent? 2. Or are these 10 mails sent later? 3. Can there be sent more mails in the next hour or is the mail account now blocked for sending mails?
I upgraded Plesk to 12.0.18 on centos5.8 just because of new feature, Outgoing Mail Limit. There was no problem until I had to increase one of my client's domain limit. I set its Mail Box, Domain & subscription limit to "unlimited", but user get limit exceeded warning again. I search this problem on internet, and the only related article was [URL] .... but I didn't got meaning of "server wide limits".
Current Version Installed :Parallels Plesk Panel 11.5.30 Update #31 Problem: When username have @ like : myuser@mydomain.com

We have set up a site for a customer anyone goes to view the sites an a default authentication pop up appears, and the only way to view the website is to type in the customers Cpanel Login details.
I've checked the IUSR, IWPD permissions and they are correct. and check the authentication modules and level in IIS and they seems to be correct.
Is there away to set a customers permissions to the default settings?
i have a problem with my plesk 12 Installation on a Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard machine.
When I select a Website and want to change the php settings for that page it wont apply the new settings.
I placed a phpinfo() file in the Folder of that Website to test that. The weird thing is when i change the memory_limt value it is visible on the phpinfo() but when i change post_max_size or upload_max_filesize nothing changes.
I m trying to get the feature "Outgoing Mail from Exclusive IP Addresses" working, as with an updated Postfix configuration the menu entry for this functions does not appear anymore.
Maybe i am missing something in my configuration that tells Plesk to not show it anymore.
Plesk 12 - fresh installation on Debian Wheezy.
We only changed main.cfnd here is the configuration file (please note that the formatting was a bit corrupted by the plesk panel ):

How do you reset the outgoing mail limits report?I have been doing some testing and I don't want the report to show that some of my domains are over their limits.
Outgoing mail control functions properly for domains, but it does not count or limit subdomains.
For example, if you have a subdomain like: sub.domain.tld
And an email account on that subdomain, like: info@sub.domain.tld
Then outgoing mail limits are not applied to that subscription/domain/mail account. You are able to send more emails than the limit.
Also, if you go to: -> Tools and Settings -> Outgoing mail control
And try to see statistics for that subscription/domain/mail account, it shows that there are not sent emails, even if you have sent emails. Of course I checked it many hours after sending, or even the next days.
I will wanted to know if hmailserver lets configure the quantity of outgoing emails it is permitted in an hour or minutes. I have found this:
hMailServer is pre-configured to have high security when it comes to relaying and authentication so that no one can use your server to send spam messages.
But I do not know if It refers to what I want or to an antihack or something like that to protect my server.
