Plesk 11.x / Linux :: Cannot Create Pipe For Communication With Scanning Child
Dec 10, 2014I'm running CentOS with Paralells Plesk bundled Paralellls Premium Antivirus (Dr Web). After the latest yum updates DrWeb continously seems to crash and be restarted by the Parallells watchdog. By default there were no logs for DrWeb, but when I enable logging to a file it gets spammed continously with the following error:
Cannot create pipe for communication with scanning childs (Too many open files)and the Drweb process runs at 99% CPU for long periods. This totally fills the disk with logs and I've now disabled logging again and Drweb is back to continously being restarted by the watchdog.

It needs the following DNS records
Record type: SRV
Service name *: _Autodiscover
Protocol name *: _tcp (it will automatically add your domain and to edit it again shows as invalid)
Port number *: 443
Priority of service: very high(0)
Weight of service: theres no 0 option so use 10 as the option and to edit it again shows as invalid)
Target host *: use your mail ip address?

Sep 12, 2014I have a dedicated server and I am about to get a few high traffic sites that will be Joomla based and MySQL served. What I am thinking a about is to create another MySQL instance, leave the current websites on the "old" instance and get the new ones onto a separate instance.
I am on PPP 11.0.9 on windows and the current mysql version is 5.1.56 on port 3306 (I can get other ports for other instances).
What I did was the following:
In the Database Servers page, I hit "Add Database Server"
In the next page I add the following:
MySQL (from the dropdown)
localhost
3307
(leave blank the default check box)
I then add the Administrator's username and passwords and hit OK.
The next page, reports an error message (in between asterisks below):

Error: Test connection to the database server has failed because of network problems:
No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.
************************
The primary (eg. current) mysql instance is working fine, it's just I cannot add a second server...

Nameservers and mail server are external servers and fully working.I have a 'fake' web site (roundcube. local) in which I've successfully installed roundcube and I would use it as webmail.I've added a domain alias 'webmail2.domain.com' and it works like a charm.Now I've moved the main domain "domain.com" on the plesk server and I would like to add a 'webmail.domain.com' domain alias to the 'roundcube.local' website.If I try to do it, I receive this error:
"Error: Wrong prefix for domain alias"..Even if I try to add webmail.anotherdomain.com (not installed on the Plesk server) I get the same error.The error shows up either the host is configured to the Plesk machine or not.If I set the binding directly in IIS it works but I'd like to use the plesk to do this.

Exim Pipe Programming
May 28, 2007I'm using CPanel with Exim running on my server.
I need to add a new e-mail account, say "service@domain.com". Messages sent to this address should arrive to different e-mail accounts depending on sender evaluation.
So, if a message is received by "service@domain.com" from "user@mail.com" I need to check on my database if the sender's e-mail address already exists and if it's assigned to some of the operators, then pipe the message to the operator's e-mail address, else, the message would be sent to a randomly chosen operator.
I have created a forward on CPanel, where "service@domain.com" points to "|/home/user/pipe.pl" where pipe.pl is the file i have created to perform the database lookup.
Now I'm stuck on the way I should return the pipe_address to Exim.
Apache Pipe To PHP Script
Jun 15, 2007ive read that apache can pipe log files into a PHP script. ive tried it and its not working.
ive tried 2 ways, one pipes to the script file (which says to load with PHP.exe on the top line). the other way pipes to PHP.exe and tells it to load the script.
i put a simple bit in my script to create a new file just to check if it worked and it looks like the script is never being run yet i dont get any errors from apache.

How Much Data Can I Get Through A 10mb Pipe
May 10, 2007I am review the pricing model for web hosting.
I have come up with a basic model (page views x bandwidth used x disk space). I will get the bandwidth and page views from awstats and the disk space from the server.
I am trying to cost the bandwidth we buy from our supplier. We have a 10mb pipe going into our solution costing us £14k per year. Awstats reports the bandwidth as total data transfered e.g. 2.4 gb per day or month. I am having a problem trying to link the two.
How can I work out how much data I can get through a 10mb connection in a full day? I can then work out a sites bandwidth usage based on the % of the cost. Ideally i would like to be able to say something like 'with 10mb pipe our solution can handle 250gb of traffic per day'.
What do people think of the costing model and any ideas of how i can calculate the total amount of data i can shift in a day.

Aug 25, 2014When adding a subscription with a certain plan, I get this error"Error: The plan was not applied: Custom changes in PHP settings" almost instantly after I initiated the creation of the new subscription. Another service plan doesn't have the issue, and though I tried finding the reason why one works while the other doesn't I simply wasn't able to. The service plan in question is used for over 40 others without a problem just when I select it for a new subscription, I get the mentioned error message.I am using Plesk 12 on Linux, all latest updates installed.

Feb 5, 2015i registered some new domains and wanted to add them via Plesk. Before i did that i got the stanard Plesk default page saying that i have to add the domains via plesk as usual.
When i did that the domain switched to a white page and is not able to load .html pages, i can load a phpinfo.php or install wordpress etc. but when i try to load a simple .html file with css or something, i only get a whitepage..
i dont know why this is happening, other domains from december are working fine, new ones wont. the error.logs are empty and even after a whole server restart it wont work.I´m using Ubuntu 14.04 LTS Server 64bit + Plesk 12.0.18
