All the outgoing email for my host (radionoroc.md) enters bulk folder in yahoo and hotmail. I ran a dns report at dnsstuff.com and corected the errors that I could:
1. Added an SPF record
2. Added A record for my nameservers
There are 4 errors left: the first 2 are due to the nameserver IPs that are on the same server (Nameservers on separate class C's and Single Point of Failure).
I can't figure out why the "Low port test" error happens, I curently don't run a firewall. But what bugs me the most is this error:
Mail server host name in greetingWARNING: One or more of your mailservers is claiming to be a host other than what it really is (the SMTP greeting should be a 3-digit code, followed by a space or a dash, then the host name). If your mailserver sends out E-mail using this domain in its EHLO or HELO, your E-mail might get blocked by anti-spam software. This is also a technical violation of RFC821 4.3 (and RFC2821 4.3.1). Note that the hostname given in the SMTP greeting should have an A record pointing back to the same server. Anyway why my emails go to the bulk folder?
email from my server goes into junk mail folder for yahoo/hotmail/gmail. what would be the issue? the user does not make the domain as a spam user but sill they send the mails to spam box.
View 13 Replies View RelatedI recently signed up with a new host with CPanel and my emails are landing in junk folder of gmail/yahoo/hotmail id's. I contacted my host support and they added a SPF record. But this problem still persists. The record was added 2 days back.
What are the different formats of SPF record? Which one is used by majority of hosts?
I have postfix with ISPConfig. I have enabled spamassassin and it working fine. Now I need to create Junk folder automatically when mail user is created. How can I do that?

I am using the Google Apps for email of my domain (means that I have pointed the MX records of my domain to Google) but the emails which are being generated from my site just use the server capabilities to generate the emails (means that the emails generated by script don't pass through Google email servers)
I suspect that this might be causing problems with spam tagging ? and what can I do to get around this

I use Swiftmailer on both to send emails. I am having trouble with the invitation emails sent by the site visitors to their GMail friends as their messages appear in the Junk folder. The DNS settings for both domains are as follows:

am going to rent a VPS solution but after some testing most of the providers emails get into my hotmail junk folder (new account, no filters), can somebody recommend one without this problem?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a customer that relies heavily on her email (sends/receives about 200 emails each day). Last Friday we traded her Windows XP computer for a new Windows Vista system.
Now since that time one of her main contacts is unable to receive any emails. She is able to receive messages from that contact but the replies are not received by the customer. I talked with the technical support group on the receiving end and they tracked it back and said that the emails are sitting in their spam filter.
What change(s) were made that changed this trusted email account to a spam account just by upgrading to Vista? I ran the DNS Tools Spam tool and the domain and IP address is not listed in any database. The only thing that showed was something about the PTR not found in the domain record. Is this something that is required?
I am running CentOS Linux 7.0.1406 (Core) with Plesk Version 12.0.18 Update #19.
Customers who use Outlook or Mozilla Thunderbird cannot send Emails through IMAP (Courier) because their mailclients say "Cannot write to sent Folder" even when there is a "Sent" Folder in the IMAP Structure existing. It is also subscribed by the Client.
Outlook Users have to go to: file - account settings > account settungs > Change > more Settings > advanced > root Folder path and enter the word inbox
Mozilla Users have to enter "INBOX." under advanced IMAP Settings in Thunderbird.
So my question is: Why is that ? And cant i Change something as admin on the Server side so all customers dont have to Panic and set an inbox Folder path in their mailclients ?
For customers it has to work without Client-side configuration...
I had a folder abc.xyz in Windows 2000 server and it had been running fine. Strange thing was when I migrate that domain to Windows 2003 server, everything was working except everyting in the folder abc.xyz.
However if I rename the folder removing the "." everything will be ok. Removing the dot is not that difficult, I am just curious as to why errors occur for folders with a dot in it for Windows 2003 server
I have a problem with outgoing mail because they tend to reach the junk mail of Yahoo, MSN, and GMail.
What can be done to change that?
Each time I send email from my domain, 90% of the time it ends up in a users Junk Mail folder. This is for Yahoo, Gmail, etc.

I have phpnuke installed and i send out weekly newsletters and people seem to get them in their junk box in there email. How can i make it so my emails go to there inbox but not there junk box in their email?

I tested sending emails from my webmail and in windows live hotmail they are being sent to junk. I have used other hosts before and their webmail was fine not sending to junk. This is a problem with my host yes? I have contacted them but just wondering what you guys might think is wrong. BTW I have checked the IP and it is not blacklisted.

Could you please help me with this as I am going mad trying to figure out how to fix this? I am running a VPS which has 4 IP's and whenever I send an e-mail from the domain it moves into the junk filter. E-mails are received correctly by other e-mail providers (Yahoo, etc.), only Hotmail has the issue.
When I do a DNS Report, the only error I get besides the mail server having a single point of failure, is "Mail server host name in greeting". I have had the VPS provider add a RDNS entry, etc.
I have spoken with the support team at the VPS Host and they have tried everything they could and can't understand why there is an issue. I also contacted Hotmail and they redirected me to a Junk Filter troubleshooting page [url]
I don't know why this is being filtered as Junk and what I can do to fix it. Could you please help as I would be most grateful.

On my VPS I would like to set the /tmp folder to 777 and point to it with session.save_path.
The VPS will host a number of sites, but I will have sole control of them. ie. the account holders will not have access to cpanel.
If it makes any difference, the server is running phpSUexec.
What are the risks involved with this?
Can you tell me....Why is yahoo marking my mail as junk?
Can anyone tell me what the likely causes are for yahoo to be marking my emails to clients as junk? We have reverse DNS set up for the server's main IP address, and I'm just not too savvy on the email technicalities of today.
I'll be happy to give you any information you need to help me diagnose the problem. It's getting irritating having to call my clients and tell them to dig the mail out of their junk folder.
My web development company has just launched a new website in Hong Kong.
It's a brand new site, so obviously hasnt even been listed on google yet.
One MAJOR problem we're facing is ALL email sent from the server is going to Spam/junk mail folders. We dont have a dedicated mail server and all mail is being sent via the web servers localhost (via a phpmailer script)
The site is member driven but members cannot join the site, because their account activation emails are going to spam/junk and theyre not finding them (we do mention for people to check their spam/junk but alot of people still dont)
So i am wondering if anyone has any tips how i can get the site listed as not spam. its a .hk domain name so i'm wondering if its only because im in australia that its going to spam for me?
either way id like to get the problem solved quickly, so if there is any verification/testing i can do to approve the site i would appreciate to find out.

Did microsoft require your host email them and say "[you] have exclusive sending rights for this IP"?

I signed up for AOL's junk reporting program a few months ago and I didn't have to bother anybody about it.
If I recall correctly, all AOL cared about was whether or not my reverse DNS was set properly.
I have an addon domain running on my webhosting along side my primary account. I am mostly using the Thunderbird client to send e-mails. 80% of the time when I send a mail out from "name@addondomain.com" hotmail, gmail, yahoo all see it as spam!
What's ironic is I receive more darn adult e-mails in my free accounts than anything else, and yet it's thinking the occasional mass personal message is SPAM?
So these guys that flood my inbox daily must know something I don't?
Is there something I'm doing incorrectly? Or do I need to change a hosting package setting, should I use different software such as a php mailing list?
