I have a "little" problem. I can not change the hosting type for a domain.
There is the error:
"Internal error.
ERROR: Call to a member function getRootPath() on a non-object (Abstract.php:141)"
What am I doing wrong?
I can not change "Hosting Type" of my domains configured in Parallels Plesk 11.0.9 for Linux.
I have read this kb. It is exactly the problem I have, but I have permission to create domains and still can not change the type of hosting...
When trying to change the hosting type of a subscription, from website to forwarding or none, that was created before I removed tomcat from the server, I get the error: "Error: tomcatmng failed:".
For subscriptions that where created after I removed the tomcat package (with the updates and upgrades manager/product installer) hosting type changing is no problem.

Following configuration given:
Abo with "domain.com" - Hosting Type - Webspace (with E-Mail Services)
Subdomain "sub.domain.com" - Hosting Type - Forward
Customer asked us to activate Forward for "domain.com "to other Domain for 2 weeks - but as soon as a Subdomain points on a Domain - I can NOT change the Hosting Type anymore ... WHY???
If I want to change Hosting Type from Hosting to Forward for some weeks - it always deletes the whole Webspace for the Domain ... ?!?
1) Why can't I change Hosting Type when a Sub-Domain is created?
2) Why can't I tell Plesk to change Hosting Type WITHOUT deleting the whole Webspace ...
I have installed Plesk 12.0.18 on my server and want to change the hosting-type from "Forwarding" to "Web hosting". I change the type via "Websites & Domains" view (see attachments).
After I insert username and password, I get following error message:
Some fields are empty or contain an improper value. ('home' = '')
Deleting the domain and creating it from scratch is a bad option. I would have to create all e-mail accounts and migrate the data.
My customer has two domains, one of it is a alias-domain.
He wants to set this alias to his primary domain, so how can i change it?
I tried it with deleting the alias, but i can't find the "button" for changing the primary domain?
Have I to delete the complete abonnement and reinstall all files and databases?
I know, that I have to change some paths in files, but it would be easier, than to dump everything and upload again...
Recently I have migrated from a VPS to another VPS. How can I change nameservers for domains in old VPS to point them to the new VPS ?

Since we switched to Plesk 12 and activated nginx the problem reoccurs reliably on every domain change.
As soon as a customer creates a new domain or alias and Apache restarts nginx delivers 502 errors for maybe 10 seconds. After that everything is fine again.
The system is Debian 6.0.10 with Plesk 12.0.18 Update #38
That might not be a problem in small environments, but with >100 domains the timeout is annoying enough for customers to pick up the phone.
Adding this to /etc/sw-cp-server/config did not do the trick.

Recently, we had trouble with Horde, which I Re-installed. However, since then any change that is made to a domain in plesk (changing mailbox settings, domain settings, hosting settings) All website show the default plesk page and I will have to re-run the reconfigure-all command in SSH to bring them all back up. Sometimes even that won't work and I will have to re-run the bootstrap repair command. We were actually on Plesk 11 when this started happening, so we upgraded to Plesk 12, but unfortunately this did not fix the issue.
We have around 500 customer websites on this server, so obviously the changes are made often and the sites going down on every change isn't great at all.
I have a long list of these errors in my error Plesk error log:

But I can't seem to find out if this is the cause, or how to fix this error correctly on a Plesk install.
Is there a way to change the default value of the "Preferred domain" option in the hosting settings of domains in Plesk 11.5? When ever i create a new subscription/domain it just defaults to the value of "domain.ltd" and i have to go into the hosting settings and manually change it to "None". Is there a way i can set it to use the "None" option every time i create new subscriptions or domains?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI have a Plesk 12.0.18 on Centos Server. All subscriptions works fine, but one subscription have a domain with this problem.
When i change the domain prefix to "www.mydomain.com" or to "mydomain.com", this still stuck to "Waiting...".
When this happens, the rest of the server still works fine, but will not let me make any changes to the rest of subscriptions.
I try to edit the apache vhosts, but this looks fine.
When I try to change a domain name preference from www to non-www i am getting the error

I know that on the past versions the expiration date is changed in the subscrition details.
This is Plesk 12.08 Webadmin Edition and theres no possibility to change by the "interface management" on service provider view.

Hosting type on website became "No web hosting."
When I try to change hosting type to "Forwarding" it changes ok.
If I change hosting type to "Website hosting", I get message "The hosting type for "website name" was successfully changed.", but hosting plan still stay "No web hosting"....
When I try to set a domain's hosting type from "Forwarding" to "Website hosting" I get the following error:

I've a vps hosting with several domains as you can see
I have to install several SSL certificates and the provider indicates me I must use different IP address in each domain, but I don't know how to do that.
I have several IPs
But all the domains are associated with the first IP, and I can't disassociate one domain and associate it to other IP.
Only when I go to settings for the hosting, I can change the IP, but it's the IP of the hosting, not the IP for one domain.

I have a client on a dedicated IP, today we needed to downgrade the web hosting plan. As the web hosting plan puts users on a default shared IP, this plan change also changed the dedicated IP to the shared one causing some propagation issues for a small period of time.
I have contacted WHMCS about this asking if they had a way of changing the clients plan but keeping the IP address intact as this could lead to some very undesirable outcomes. They explained that it is not their fault and to contact Parallels.
I know I can change the plan directly in Plesk however by initiating the plan change via WHMCS, everything is automated.
On a server which was running for years now and was updated from plesk 10 to plesk 11 and also to plesk 12 (12.0.18 Update #29) there seems to be a bug.
Customers are able to change PHP handler while in site_isolation_settings.ini it is not allowed:
php_handler_type = fastcgi
PSA service was restarted too:
/etc/init.d/psa restart
This is a serious issue because customers should not be able to change PHP handler type.
Only abonnements created with older Plesk versions are affected. I cannot say which version exactly because server had installed Plesk 10, 11 and 12. What do we have to modify to disallow changing the PHP handler type for this abonnements created with Plesk versions befor Plesk 12?

I am running plesk 9.2. I need to move one domain from the shared IP to dedicated IP. How do I do that? My server vendor has already allocated the IP addresses to me and I can see the unused IPs in the Ip address pool. View 7 Replies View RelatedAfter upgrade plesk 11 to 11.5 there is a new feature in domain hosting settings which is called "Preferred domain"
We can not change the state of Preferred domain. It always remain domain.tld When we try to change it to "none" panel says "Information: The settings were successfully updated."
When we check hosting settings again Preferred domain section is domain.tld . due to that reason we r having lots of diffuculties. Lots web page down due to web.config file has redirection.
I was trying to change "Register Domain Names button URL". URL...But after changing the "Register Domain Names button URL" the CLI file (%plesk_ cli %interface_template.exe) got corrupted somehow and now i get this error "invalid application".Is there a place where i can get a copy of this file ?

I am hosting a web page on a computer that is hooked into the same network as my personal computer. They are both hooked into an openBSD router, which has the connection to the internet. My recently purchased domain name is set to forward all requests directly to the computer with the website on it (named 'b2.') When you visit the domain from an outside computer it does this just fine, but when you try to access it from one of the computers on my network it does not work. From my computer you can not access the website from the domain, but you can still access it just straight through the local network (i.e. typing 'b2' directly into the address bar ) From the computer which is actually the host to the website, it is accessible neither way, though the local network option was working before. Does anyone know what the problem is and how I can fix it? Keep in mind that I really only understand the basics of web hosting, and terminology and stuff.

2 Issues:
#1 Using .htaccess 301 redirect
We used the following command line in their old website's htaccess file
Redirect 301 / [url]
The goal was to get people try to visit any page of their old website (i.e. OldWebsite.com/contact.html) redirected to their new website (i.e. NewWebsite.com/contact.html). Isn't that supposed to change the address bar's URL, too? For some reason, I visit their old site and I seem to be redirected to their new website but the address bar still has their old domain name? Something is going on???
#2 Having their new company name for 2 years now. People can enter her new company name in Google, MSN or Yahoo. Her new company name appears in the search results but has the old domain name associated with it. We are trying to get rid of any reference to that old domain name? What's the easiest way to do this? So what people see in search engines is:

www.OldDomain.com
What steps did I miss in this transition?
What steps do I have to take on their old website/old web server to control it's appearance on search engines and make sure people get to the new website?
