In Tools & Settings --> IP Adresses I got two IP Adresses:
192.168.1.10 (primary, bold) 89.104.83.139
Since the first IP adress is just the internal IP adress, I'd like to remove it, but I get the message that it's not allowed because it would be the primary IP.
Plesk has no option to just switch the primary IP adress, so what's the way to do it with plesk12?
I have a hostee who as part of an out-of-court settlement, needs to change the primary domain they host on. The domain they're switching to is already a parked domain on their account. At first blush, it seems like it would be pretty easy, but now I'm concerned about their email. Both of the principals of the company use Horde extensively for webmail, and as such I have files on the server for their email accounts. What I was thinking about doing is this:
1. Stop parking the "new" domain on the account. 2. Change the account from using the "old" domain in WHM to the "new" domain by modifying the account in WHM. 3. Forwarding email sent to user@old.domain to user@new.domain, in CPanel. 4. Assorted changes on website to account for the new domain - published email addresses, new SSL cert, things like that.
My concern is in how to move the mail files, currently set up to be for user@old.domain, to be readable by Horde as user@new.domain, so it's seamless to the users. We will be keeping the old domain under our control, but not using it to point to the site any more; I just don't want to have to tell them "OK, to get your old email, you have to check this address, and to get new email, you have to check this one."
Would my plan above actually accomplish that? Is there a better way within a WHM/CPanel framework to accomplish what I need without losing email or access to it? What am I missing?
Up until a week ago we had some troubles with package dependencies on our dedicated server running on Ubuntu 14.04.1. Plesk was totally out of reach, displaying 502 Bad Gateway pages and some other weird error on login_up.php3.
I fixed the dependencies by removing a lot of packages (including Plesk) and finally managed to reinstall Plesk using the autoinstaller, then repaired it using "/usr/local/psa/bootstrapper/pp12.0.18-bootstrapper/bootstrapper.sh" (IIRC this whole bootstrapper folder was not present before reinstallation).
Now, after restoring our data from a backup pretty much everything works except for the subdomains. They all redirect to the primary domain's vhost (307 Redirect) for some reason.
"/var/log/apache2/access.log" shows the following after issuing a HTTP request to any subdomain:
I have tried enabling and disabling nginx, it did not work. Then I just kept it disabled because it makes our forum think that everyone has the server's IP (because of the reverse proxy thing I assume).
Oh, and I should say: using HTTPS anywhere just gets me a 502 Bad Gateway error.
After changing website domain name (from development one -dev-domain.com- to production one) we have this error in fail2ban.log :
2015-02-01 06:46:41,176 fail2ban.filter [2848]: ERROR Unable to open /var/www/vhosts/system/dev-domain.com/logs/proxy_access_log 2015-02-01 06:46:41,176 fail2ban.filter [2848]: ERROR [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/var/www/vhosts/system/dev-domain.com/logs/proxy_access_log' Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/server/filter.py", line 520, in getFailures has_content = container.open() File "/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/server/filter.py", line 601, in open self.__handler = open(self.__filename) IOError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/var/www/vhosts/system/dev-domain.com/logs/proxy_access_log'
Since we switched to Plesk 12 and activated nginx the problem reoccurs reliably on every domain change. As soon as a customer creates a new domain or alias and Apache restarts nginx delivers 502 errors for maybe 10 seconds. After that everything is fine again.
The system is Debian 6.0.10 with Plesk 12.0.18 Update #38
That might not be a problem in small environments, but with >100 domains the timeout is annoying enough for customers to pick up the phone.
Adding this to /etc/sw-cp-server/config did not do the trick.
Recently, we had trouble with Horde, which I Re-installed. However, since then any change that is made to a domain in plesk (changing mailbox settings, domain settings, hosting settings) All website show the default plesk page and I will have to re-run the reconfigure-all command in SSH to bring them all back up. Sometimes even that won't work and I will have to re-run the bootstrap repair command. We were actually on Plesk 11 when this started happening, so we upgraded to Plesk 12, but unfortunately this did not fix the issue.
We have around 500 customer websites on this server, so obviously the changes are made often and the sites going down on every change isn't great at all.
I have a long list of these errors in my error Plesk error log:
2014/09/25 17:31:53 [error] 818#0: *1566 FastCGI sent in stderr: "Primary script unknown" while reading response header from upstream, client: *.*.*.*, server: , request: "$
But I can't seem to find out if this is the cause, or how to fix this error correctly on a Plesk install.
Is there a way to change the default value of the "Preferred domain" option in the hosting settings of domains in Plesk 11.5? When ever i create a new subscription/domain it just defaults to the value of "domain.ltd" and i have to go into the hosting settings and manually change it to "None". Is there a way i can set it to use the "None" option every time i create new subscriptions or domains?
I wonder if there is any chance to change the domain that is being shown as the incoming/outgoing mail server to users of the Plesk Panel, when clicking on the "Info"-Icon near an e-mail-account in the mail list (see screenshot).
We only have a SSL certificate for one domain and want our customers to use this domain in their mail client settings, so that the client trusts the domain.
I added a mail resource and a database resource to the "branding" service template, and made sure the provisioning attributes match up to an actual node. I also made sure that under the resources for the branding template the "Branding Hosting (management node)" -> "Number of MySQL databases" is "1" and the "MySQL Database" is unlimited.
Ive made a primary branded domain assigned to the administrator account. When I then login to the account, I see that the mail resource is added and I can add email accounts. However, the database resource does not seem to be activated. Indeed, if I try to add a application in the domain that requires a database, it fails because there is not a database resource available.
The database server is a separate node from the management server.
I do not see any running tasks waiting, and the events log doesnt mention anything about provisioning a database.
Separately but tangentially related, once the account is up, I dont see it listed as an active subscription under the service template. I should see it there, right?
On our instance (Plesk 12 / Debian) I am logged out within 1 or 2 minutes quite often while working on config of the primary website (admin access). The session idle time is set to the 30 min default, and the problem isn't to do with changing IP addresses - the multiple sessions visible all have the same IP address.
This happens so constantly it is difficult do any real work. Where is the logic of session creation and termination? What do we need to look at to deal with this problem? We have root access.
I have a client on a dedicated IP, today we needed to downgrade the web hosting plan. As the web hosting plan puts users on a default shared IP, this plan change also changed the dedicated IP to the shared one causing some propagation issues for a small period of time.
I have contacted WHMCS about this asking if they had a way of changing the clients plan but keeping the IP address intact as this could lead to some very undesirable outcomes. They explained that it is not their fault and to contact Parallels.
I know I can change the plan directly in Plesk however by initiating the plan change via WHMCS, everything is automated.
OK, I am confused. I have one domain that is parked on top of another domain. I would like Mail that comes to the parked domain to be automatically forwarded to the same user name at the primary domain.
Can I change a DNS or MX record to facilitate this?
I am running plesk 9.2. I need to move one domain from the shared IP to dedicated IP. How do I do that? My server vendor has already allocated the IP addresses to me and I can see the unused IPs in the Ip address pool. How can I change the ip of suppose; mydomain.com from 1.2.3.4(shared) to 4.5.6.7(dedicated)?
I got a new dedicated server, and I put the primary domain name to be zeonwebhosting.com.
However, when I setup the nameservers, and go to GoDaddy.com and NameCheap.com to change the nameservers on my domains, I get an "Errors were detected" on GoDaddy.com and a "nRRPResponseCode 531" on NameCheap.
I fixed everything in WHM and got a server administrator to fix some things for me, and it didn't work yet. Now I am thinking that the problem might not be with the server, but with the domain.
ZeonWebHosting.com is registered at GoDaddy.com, and since I was not sure what nameservers I should put as it is the primary domain name, I used the parked nameservers on GoDaddy, and used the Total DNS feature to change the A and MX Records to point to my server's IPs.
I tried putting the ns1.zeonwebhosting.com and ns2.zeonwebhosting.com DNSs on GoDaddy, but still I got the "Errors were detected" error. I tried almost everything possible. I even redid cPanel just to make sure that everything was OK with the cPanel configuration.
Also there is another problem with the server. I can't seem to be able to delete Nameservers from "Networking Setup > Nameserver IPs" in WHM. I get this message when trying to delete one of the nameservers: "Sorry, the nameserver ip 66.79.191.196 cannot be removing since it is still registered with an ICANN register."
After upgrade plesk 11 to 11.5 there is a new feature in domain hosting settings which is called "Preferred domain"
We can not change the state of Preferred domain. It always remain domain.tld When we try to change it to "none" panel says "Information: The settings were successfully updated."
When we check hosting settings again Preferred domain section is domain.tld . due to that reason we r having lots of diffuculties. Lots web page down due to web.config file has redirection.
I was trying to change "Register Domain Names button URL". URL...But after changing the "Register Domain Names button URL" the CLI file (%plesk_ cli %interface_template.exe) got corrupted somehow and now i get this error "invalid application".Is there a place where i can get a copy of this file ?
