Plesk 12.x / Linux :: WP-toolkit Is Unable To Update Installations
Nov 4, 2014
WP-toolkit is unable to update WP-installations. The error is obviously due to user rights of the WP-toolkit compared to vhost user rights compared to file rights.
The error:
The WordPress plugins were updated with errors:Installation "My CMS": Warning: Could not remove the old plugin. {"err_code":0,"err_message":"Updated 0/1 plugins."}
Configuration:
- nginx and apache
- nginx processes php files via php-fpm
How do I set user rights or what has to be configured to have the WP-toolbox work again?
Plesk Support Web Form refuses to accept our License Keys as valid so I have no other way of contacting support.Recently MU#60 came out to patch a security hole in Plesk Panel. We need this applied but cannot find a way to force the plesk installations to install the update.
We run two, One on 10.4 and one on 9.5 (Yes I also realise these are old/end of life/not supported). They report they are running MU#58 and that they are up to date. They are set to auto update. Is it that MU#60 isn't compatible with them so it simply wont update to it? Or am I missing something? There seems to be no mechanic available in either panel to issue a manual or forced update to the new MU.I can provide my license keys if needed to validate this, they are active and in use and most definitely valid.
See the attached jpeg for the complete error message.
All the sites are working okay so we know the databases are accessible and working. We have the latest version of Plesk 12 with micro updates done daily. This is a plain installation with no mods to the system files or software. This is hosted at 1and1.com; our other server at Rackspace found the WP installations without any problems.

how to setup pre-installed wordpress themes and plugins so that customers can have them as soon as they auto-install wordpress? I am sure the files are stored somewhere, but can't find it.
Also, any way to disable the auto-install wordpress link from domain.com/wordpress to just domain.com? Some in-experienced customers will have a hard time since they wouldn't understand that selecting custom is the way to go.
When I visit the Wordpress Toolkit page on one of my servers I get the following error...Internal error: Specified column "name" is not in the row
MessageSpecified column "name" is not in the row File Abstract.php Line179 TypeZend_Db_Table_Row_Exception Go To Previous Page
This server appeard to upgrade successfully, and has the relevant tools installed with no errors on apt-get.Perhaps removing and re-installing the wordpress toolkit will work?
My Wordpress Toolkit stops showing the Wordpress Installations.
Instead of that, is showing a yellow sign with the following error:
"Decoding failed: Syntax error"
I found this [URL] ... but it did not work for me.
I decided to reinstall several times my Wordpress site using my Wordpress backup.
The Wordpress installation using the Toolkit works fine, however, when I update Wordpress (core, plugins or theme) within my Wordpress dashboard, the Plesk's Wordpress Toolkit keeps saying there are still updates pending. Also I noticed that if I change the site's name in my Wordpress dashboard, the Plesk Wordpress Toolkit keeps showing the old one. (same happens with languages)
Although my website is working fine, after a while, not matter if I update or not my Wordpress site using the Toolkit, eventually I receive the "Decoding failed: Syntax error" in my Plesk panel.
Plesk version 12.0.18 Update #24, Centos 6.6 Final
We are trying to use the new Wordpress toolkit, but when we try to install an instance it says this:
Contact your service provider for assistance. Upgrade the system PHP CLI to version 5.3.0 or later, or set the correct path to the PHP CLI in the clipath option of the php_handler utility for a custom PHP handler.
Screenshot:
Now that would not be a problem if the requirements were not met, but there are installed PHP versions that are higher than 5.3 and the website is configured to us these versions...
I have over 5 WP installations on my Server and i installed all manual and had never issues.
Now i installed a again a WP Site and after i go to the Wordpress Toolkit to search for the new installation i got the following Message:
PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '?' in /usr/share/plesk-wp-cli/php/wp-cli.php(23) : eval()'d code on line 1 {"err_code":0,"err_message":"
With error cannot connect to DB.
So all WP installations are running fine instead of the new one.... I didn't change any configs files of PHP all is standard, the wp-config.php is correct, the Site is running fine.
From my point of view is this an issue by Plesk due to Parse error message at the files of Plesk, see error message!
System: OS Debian 7.8 Plesk Version 12.0.18 Update #43, zuletzt aktualisiert: 20. April 2015 13:17:36
I know with an older Version of Plesk 12.0.18 it was working fine too, so the bug was implemented with a MU.
I checked the file as well and find out that at all PHP files the code is not closed at the end so the "?>" is always missing.Â
I'm attempting to utilize the WordPress Toolkit. After clicking scan on a webspace with WordPress installed the panel returns the error "'plugin list' is not a registered wp command. See 'wp support'.".
I've tried it on a few servers that has the WordPress Toolkit installed, but they all return the same error.
I have a clean installation of Parallels Plesk on my server, and I installed wordpress on two of my domains. I'm scanning for installations through Plesk Admin, and it shows two installations with empty name and the toolkit is not functional at all. Check the attached screenshot.

I have parallel plesk 11.5 on my VPS hosting. Recently I upgraded the PHP version to 5.4 via Updates and Upgrades feature. Now, I am not able to change anything for any domain/website, it always shows me following error:
"Error: Unable to create or update the subscription: The PHP handler "fastcgi-5.4" is not registered. It was probably deleted from the server. Register a handler with the same properties and try again."
I tried creating a handler with same name in IIS but it didn't work. When I checked in "Server Components" the max PHP version is "PHP 5.3.28" but I see PHP 5.4 installed in C:ParallelsPleskAdditionalPleskPHP54 folder on the server.
When logged into the admin panel, I can manage all other domain except for one. When I try to manage this particular domain (which is our own domain rather than a client domain), it takes a while before returning page not found. In the logs, it's getting a high volume of the following error message:
Error: Unable to create or update the subscription: The PHP handler "fastcgi-5.3" is not registered. It was probably deleted from the server. Register a handler with the same properties and try again.
I've tried attacking the issue through IIS. PHP appears to be configured correctly in IIS. I've looked at permissions. The website itself runs fine, I just can't manage the domain.
Another issue, which may be related, is when trying to access the PHP Manager in IIS for the PleskControlManager site, it gets an error stating that it can't find the php.ini file. I don't know if this is normal, or related.
I'm looking for information about having EXTERNAL ms-sql 2008/2012 servers with MS-SQL Web Edition license connected to one or more Plesk servers.
We don't want to use the Express version coming with Plesk but use MS-SQL 2008 & 2012 (both accessible by clients if possible), on individual dedicated machines for SQL only.Of course we'd like to have all current functionality coming with Plesk Power Panel inc. backup/restore options from within Plesk.
Is it possible through Plesk Linux version on the root servers to update? If not and you will update the Debian itself, you have to note something? What should you back up before everything to make Plesk is working again? Is a complete reinstallation is required?
My current version of nginx in plesk 11.5.44 is 1.5.0 and i would like to update it to the latest stable version which is 1.6.0. However, i cannot seem to manage to do so. I tried with yum update nginx but i receive Package(s) nginx available, but not installed.
After updating from Plesk 10 to Plesk 12 I have lost ssh access for all users (service is not running).
While I select ssh connection I still receive an error:
--------------------------- PuTTY Fatal Error --------------------------- Server unexpectedly closed network connection --------------------------- OK ---------------------------Click to expand...
I want to upgrade to Plesk 12, but want to make sure current version of 11.5.30 is working properly.Whenever Plesk tried to update I get the following error.Installing packages

I have VPS Server with Parallels Plesk 11.5.30 (64 bits) on OVH.ORG..Today i do Update to newest version via https://MY-IP:8447
Code: [URL] .....
Now i cant login to my server: [URL] ....
How can i repair it. I dont wanna install again Plesk Panel becouse i have a lot of configuration and email adress. All components like Apache Mysql, ftp works good, but i cant only login.
I've tried a few times to update php on my server from version 5.3 to the latest 5.5 however it keeps conflicting with apache2 that's installed and I ended up having to re-install everything as I accidentally deleted Plesk attempting to fix it.
Ideally I'd rather just run nginx with php-fpm without apache but it's not as straightforward anymore with plesk and how to go about updating PHP?
I've got a clean install of Parallels Plesk v12.0.18_build1200140606.15 running on Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS.
Symptoms are that two of my domains are not resolved anymore, one of which is my mail, the other the plesk default. So even I try to login by ip, it bounces to the default name and that does not resolve.
This probably happened yesterday morning and i see an autoupdate log, so i can't think what else would cause this out of the blue, since i am on holiday and have not touched the server for three weeks.
The log doesn't really have errors, just one warning i saw, about packages not beeing updated, using old ones. But that was only passenger, so ok i guess. The log is rather big and so i didn't read it all. It ends by saying patch for 12.0.18 will not be applied and errors in apt-get update, that i mentioned.
The domains were set up like many others that still work, as masters.
I can log in as root, so if i could just let me log in by ip again.
