Plesk 12.x / Linux :: Tags Used In Notification Messages
Sep 5, 2014
I am reading the plesk documentation about "Tags Used in Notification Messages". URL....It says that one can use a <password> tag which will show the user's password ("user's password for authorization in Plesk").How can Plesk show a password? I would assume all passwords are saved as hashes and not as plain text?
The premium antivirus when enabled it automatically sends notifications to both sender and server admin. I wish to disable the the notification to the sender and also only send a summary email weekly to the admin.
I was wondering how to change the notification destination email for alerts sent by Plesk Health Monitor? I tried to modify the XML configuration file with this at the beginning:
I want to send a notification (by an email to SMS gateway) when a specific email arrives. I see that Roundcube has a sieve filter option called "Send Notification" and it has three input boxes which have no tooltips and I am unable to find any documents telling me what to fill in those boxes.
The boxes are:
Method Options Message
The Message is obvious enough, but the other two?
For the method, I tried mailto:<me@myemailaddress.com>
I left the options blank, typed in a short message and tried to save the filter, but it gave me an error message "Unable to save filter - server error occurred". Annoyingly, it then wiped out what I had typed and started me with a blank rule again. I also tried without the < and > round the email address.
Any clues as to proper syntax and what the options are?
Also, is it necessary to have another action after the Send Notification action to file the email away somewhere, or will it just be left in the inbox anyway if the only action is the notification?
Simple... new Plesk 12 includes this fancy feature to tell me which Wordpress plugins and themes need updating (because I obviously can't do this myself). But maybe I don't want to update some plugins (because they've been customized and changed)... how do I....
STOP Plesk 12 from sending me Wordpress update notification emails EVERY DAY!???? The auto-update is off... and EVERY day is sends me (and all of those clients) an ugly email about their Wordpress installations. How do I turn this OFF?
Not sure if all notifications are working or not but I do know that when I create a new customer with a new subscription no notification is received. I have tested with several email addresses.
I'm getting a traffic notification on a site I restored from a backup that originally came from a standard Plesk edition. Web Admin Edition doesn't appear to have access to Subscriptions, and all I can find with regard to limits under Webspaces is a hard disk quota, which isn't even editable. How do I amend of remove the limit?
Every time I log on plesk 11.09 I get an email from admin saying that due to maximum number of failed login attempts for admin, the account was blocked for 30 minutes.
First, I do not get failed login attempts, I log in every time.
Two, the account is not blocked, I can log in, out and back in as many times as I want without problem except that I get this email everytime.
After migrating to a new server and also from plesk 11 to 12 i've got two watchdog errors:
/bin/sh: /usr/local/psa/libexec/modules/watchdog/cp/clean-events: No such file or directory /bin/sh: /usr/local/psa/libexec/modules/watchdog/cp/pack-sysstats: No such file or directory
Both files dont exist. Is it save to delete the scheduled taks or should those tasks exist?
Since upgrading to Plesk 12 I am experiencing a strange bug:
When enabling the limitation of outgoing email messages, is not possible to RECEIVE emails to a account that is only redirecting the email messages (to a different account which also lies on the server).
I reproduced this behavior on two different servers from which one is a complete reinstall.
The maillog will then show the following error when receiving mails to a redirecting address:
Aug 1 04:04:34 xxxxxx plesk sendmail[16709]: handlers_stderr: DATA REPLY:554:5.7.0 The message could not be sent. You are not allowed to use sendmail utility.#012REJECT Aug 1 04:04:34 xxxxxx plesk sendmail[16709]: REJECT during call 'limit-out' handler
I can find very few information on this error message, but when disabling the limiting feature, everything works as expected.
I have a server(godaddy) with plesk. It was all working well till 8 - 10 days ago. I didnt notice it one week later where I started receiving a lot of failed mail notices. Then on investigation, there were more then 50K spam mails in the mail queue and the mails that were supposed to be sent(registration, forgot password) were also held up in the queue. I found the source of the spam and fixed that.
Also I cleared the mail-queue. Now when I try to send out a test message, it still gets held up in the mail queue. But I can send a test mail to the same domain (info@mydomain.com). All new user registration mails are also held up and this is greatly affecting the site.

I'm running Plesk 12 (installed last week) on a Centos 7 box. I'm running in ISP View, and in the Interface Controls Visibility section I've checked the box for "Hide controls for rejection messages for non-existent mail addresses".
However, when I log in as a subscriber, I can still see those controls.
Code: Hi. This is the qmail-send program at m1370.contabo. I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses. This is a permanent error; I've given up. It didn't work out.

My server certainly did not spam Gmail servers, (my old server works fine sending email t gmail) I fear this has something to do with my "Postfix" configuration.
apparently Envelope-From, Sender and Errors-To headers are set to a wrong address for messages from mailman to the list-owner. This is particularly true for mails like 'message requires approval'.
It seems like the plesk<->mailman magic results in all list-domains being written to the end of /var/lib/mailman/Mailman/mm_cfg.py in the following format: add_virtualhost('list.DOMAIN').This in return results in mail headers Envelope-From, Sender and Errors-To of mailman system mails like described above being set to mailman-bounces@DOMAIN, where DOMAIN is the one from the last add_virtualhost entry.
In my opinion, this obviously is a bug. Maintainance mails from mailinglists have wrong headers set, often with a domain that belongs to a completely different customer than the mailinglist.
I found the following discussion on mailman-users mailinglist from 2008 which discusses the same issue - also a plesk setup: URL....
As the admin user, change the setting for a particular email account called "The maximum number of outgoing email messages" to a value beyond the default. For example if the default is 35, set it to 75. This is common -- often we have customers who send larger quantities of messages than the average user.
Login as a reseller with access to manage the email account and attempt to change any *other* value. For example, you could completely ignore the outgoing mail messages value and change just the Auto-Reply value
Plesk refuses to allow the change and kicks me back to the first tab with the following error:
The value must be in the range 0..35. Only the Plesk administrator can adjust this setting.Click to expand...
My server has plesk 12 with Ubuntu. The problem I have is that the messages go with a valid domain keys signature, but without the DKIM signature.I'm not using opendkim.
I have a trial key, running Plesk 12 on Windows 2012 R2.I have disabled the notification emails in Plesk (or at least I thought I had), but keep getting an email about a running task called "push_worker.php". I get this so often, it's filling up my inbox. Is there a hidden box somewhere that I've missed to disable these emails?
The 'Additional Administrator Accounts' feature enables a Plesk login to be created for each administrator, so they don't have to share a login, which is good practice.
However, Plesk sends notification emails (e.g. Notification of problem domains) to all the administrators. How can we control who is sent notification emails? In our case, we only want them to go the main admin account.
In the 'Additional Administrator Accounts' form, the 'email' field requires a value. We could set this to a dummy value, but this would probably generate non-delivery emails.
My Plesk backup doesn't work properly. I constantly get the error "dump file has wrong format".I followed the steps in "How to verify an invalid Plesk backup file" [URL] .... and found the following:
No matter what I do (updating settings, saving, etc.), the error keeps coming back. Seems like a database inconsistency. How can I access the Plesk DB through PhpMyAdmin to check the notifications table? When I go to Settings > Database servers > Local MySQL server > Webadmin, I only see my customers' databases.
I'm using Parallels Plesk 11.0.9 and I have a client who requested that all emails sent for "user1@mail.com" to be automatically forwarded to him (user2@mail.com).
He wants to do it, so he can verify if the email account is being used for the right business purposes.
Is there any way of configuring it from Parallels Panel?
