Plesk 12.x / Linux :: SSL Email Certificate For Single Domain
Jul 3, 2014
Outlook 2013 complains about the SSL certificate when using email. Installing the certificate still doesn't stop the error/warning. What are my options?
Can I install on the plesk server a self-signed SSL cert and avoid the issues?
Can I buy & install a single certificate for that one domain and resolve the issue but not affect others.
Do I need to buy a SAN certificate for the whole server?
Have Plesk 12 in Centos...all working fine...but I have assigned dedicated IP for one domain, have request certificate (as admin) for this domain, purchase certificate in Comodo and installed...this certificate working fine and SSL Checker is good...problem is in domain how have assigned this certificate in menu SSL not appear...
I have only Default Certificate (certificate Plesk self signed) and Not Selected...but name for real certificate CA not appear...in Admin IP Address have all ok...IP for this domain and certificate (name of certificate installed) and website.... With this problem is normal? How configure SSL for email?
Plesk Panel 11.5.30, on Centos 5.10. I have 2 'domains' running on the same ip; sub.mysite.com and mysite.com. I need to add SSL to sub.mysite.com.
From the documentation, [URL] ...., it appears that if the user is using a SNI compatible browser a single SSL certificate for sub.mysite.com should work (as I am using a linux server, SNI is enabled by default I believe).
However, the control panel for the domain (website & domains > hosting settings) states that "To employ SSL, move this site to a dedicated IP address, install an SSL certificate on the site, and then select it below." In addition, other documentation makes reference to a "Secure your sites" link on the control panel to implement a purchased SSL certificate, which is not visible to me - I presume because the domain is not on a dedicated ip address.
Can someone confirm that; a) a SSL certificate for sub.mysite.com on a shared ip will work. b) that the SSL for sub.mysite.com would managed at the server level (Server Management > Tools & Settings > SSL Certificates) rather than the domain's control panel.
One alternative may be to purchase a wildcard SSL certificate (*.mysite.com). This post [URL] .... suggests that this would work. However, this is a more costly option and does more that I need (i.e. delivers SSL for all domains).
I could also purchase a dedicated ip address for sub.mysite.com. I have no experience of moving domains within plesk from a shared ip to a dedicated ip. Is this a straightforward process?
I am using Plesk 12.0.18 Update #51 on Ubuntu 14.04.2 LTS.
I want to restore a single Domain from Plesk GUI but it failed:
Archiver error: from /private-backup/plesk/clients/WSKunde/domains/domainname.de/backup_domainname.de_conf_1506200200.tgz: forkExecvPipes: execv() failed: No such file or directory System error 2: No such file or directory Warning: domain "domainname.de"
I have hired two servers for plesk and I have the mail configured in one server and the website in another one, it all seems to work fine except for a problem.
When the server where the website is tries to send a message through a smtp account it can´t send it, it seems to be looking for the mail server in the same server where the website is instead of look for it in the other server.
I'm running Parallels Plesk 12 on Debian GNU/Linux 7.6...I have a valid certificate for my mail server : mail.mydomain.tld but I don't find the place in Plesk 12 to put it.
Any domain using a SSL certificate is switched to the default certificate after each Plesk update? This is starting to get annoying and we are disabling automatic updates due to this error...
I have a problem where all email sent from uaccb.edu (studentmail.uaccb.edu [208.190.226.130]} is not arriving at my VPS. The people sending email from the above domain are not getting any errors, it is not being marked as spam, it is just being blackholed somehow.
I have checked the above IP and domain, and can't find it on any blacklist, and I am using pretty standard cPanel setup on my VPS. I have spam set to be marked and receive a fair amount and have it autorouted to a folder rather than auto-deleted.
From uaccb.edu, the only thing I have access to is Outlook Web Access to send test emails, and they are sent fine with no errors returned. If I send test emails to gmail and other similar email accounts, they go through fine, the only problem is to ANY domain hosted on my VPS. I have even recently transferred all the domains to a second VPS (with the same hosting company) at a different datacenter (for different reason) and the problem persists.
Is there any WHM setting or any ideas on how to troubleshoot this?
I have installed mail servers in components, and i see mail settings under server tab but i just cant figure out how to enable mail for specific domain
If i go to webmail.pedjaapps.net i opens default home page, webmail subdomain points to my servers ip address in DNS, roundcube is also enabled in webmails....
I am skeptical of running mchk on my server and messing something up. I am having an issue with one domain hosted on my server getting 100's of duplicates from certain domains. My MagicSpam logs show that the email is sent to my server anywhere from every 15 minutes to 1 hour. It started out as one domain sender to my server to my client, now it is happening to a bunch of sending domains.
Seems if I want to back up a domain's emails to a remote server (3x a week) I might be able to accomplish that with a Scheduled Task / Cronjob? I have a weekly full domain backup from the Plesk scheduled backup. But I can only set one backup per client. So I'd like to backup email separately, several times a week.
I have upgraded to a new server and need to move all domains, users, and most important all email accounts to the new server.
Both servers run Plesk 11.0.9 on CentOS. The migration manager works great, no problems with that.
After migrating, I change my DNS settings at an external DNS provider to the new IP. The problem is, DNS changes take time. I then get emails on the old server and on the new server until DNS information is spread.
I was searching for a way to let the old server forward to the new one, but changes for specific domains in plesks DNS system (MX record) on the old server did not work. The mails still arrived at the old server.
What can i do? Can I uncheck "Activate mail service on domain" and will all emails be rejected until DNS points to the new server? Or will that lead to bounces?
We seem to be getting 3 copies of all email notifications whenever an account is created, it seemed to happen after a server transfer but I can't see anywhere that is set up as a duplicate.
I have many server with Plesk 12...in this server I have single nameserver...example server number 1 have ns1.domain.com and ns2.domain.com - server number 2 have ns1.tldnames.com ns2.tldnames.com etc etc...
Now I want manage all server with single nameserver example all server working with ns1.newnameserver.com and ns2.newnameserver.com ....
I have licenses for my server of Plesk no limits...how check if PPA is installed in my server ? Otherwise how to install PPA or other software for DNS Manager?
I have issue with qmail server. I want to update ssl certificate and for this i have replaced older servercert.pem with new servercert.pem file in /var / qmail/ control/. and restart service of qmail using qmailctl restart. But after updating this certificate my web browser still showing older certificate details.
I installed a new ssl certificate, changed it to be default and secure Plesk, switched the IP to use it. Now I wanted to remove the old one but it shows me that there is still one usage of this cert and I can't remove it. But how can I find what is using it?
I tried to remove the ssl certificate but although I have removed it from the IP I'm getting an error that it is still assigned to it. The solution in [URL] .... didn't work cause the Certificate field is grey out in my case.
I migrated domains from another server and they had separate http and https folders. Now I need to make them use same httpdocs for both http/https. How do I do it for a single domain? How do I batch do it for all domains?
I am replacing the default certificate in Plesk so that customers do not get a certificate warning when visiting the panel login page.
I've created the certificate in the "SSL Certificates" section made it default and used it to secure Plesk. However I've still got all the existing domains using the old default certificate, how can I do a mass changeover so that all existing domains are now using the new certificate?
I've updated the IP's to use the new certificate. When I go to "SSL Certificates" in "Tools and Settings", it seems that there are some domains now using the new certificate but quite a lot of the other are still not, how can I get these over too?
I’ve read the documentations of (PBAS, Plesk, and Securing Websites).how to add SSL Certificate to our Webmail? In addition, I need to know, how to request CSR key and install SSL for our mail server in order for us to protect our emails and to use the SSL Protocol in mail softwares such as Outlook? I will explain the scenario in details:
1- We have (www.example.com) which is our "Plesk Server hostname" and a subscription in our "Plesk Server". 2- We have (pbas.example.com) which is our "PBAS Server hostname" and it's not a subscription in our "Plesk Server". 3- We have (account.example.com) which is a "Subscription" in our "Plesk Server".
Here are the DNS records of our domain and subdomains: Host-Type-Data -A-192.168.1.30 www-A-192.168.1.30 mail-A-192.168.1.30 pbas-A-192.168.1.31 account-A-192.168.1.32 -MX-example.com.
how to generate CSR key for each domain/subdomain and how to install the SSL for it? Our "Plesk" is 11.5 and installed on CentOS 6.4.
When using `plesk bin --update domain.example.com -certificate-name 'certificate'`, Plesk always returns `Unable to find certificate`, I have verified the certificate exists using `plesk bin certificate -l -admin` and the spelling of the certificate name is correct. I can use the WebUI to associate the certificate to the site and have verified it works, however I need to automate this task.
Also, the online documentation for the `plesk bin site` command does not mention the `-certificate-name` option, however it is listed when running `plesk bin site -h`.
The documentation missing the information is found here: [URL] ....
My System: Ubuntu 12.04 Plesk 12.0.18 Update #18 Only Webserver no mail
What I want: I have an old sha1 certificate and I would change this for the whole server.
What I have done so far: I have already uploaded the new sha256 certificate with a new private key to plesk (I can not simply replace the old one, plesk does not allow me to upload a new private key).
Then I set the new certificate as standard certificate and pressed the "secure pannel" button.
After that the panel uses the new certificate.
Then I set in "Tools & Settings -> IP Addresses" on both IP addresses the new certificate.
Reboot
But now the "Tools & Settings -> SSL Certificates" shows me that the old certificate is still used 2 times somewhere. But the Interface does not show where it is used. How can I find out where this certificate is used? I want to remove the old certificate from the server.
