View 2 RepliesI've got a e-mail notification problem since i upgraded from Plesk 11.5 to Plesk 12: One specific Application Update for customer X is being sent to all my customers.
Last week we did have a problem with a busted customer portal. ( not customer X, plus still on Plesk 11.5 ) I fixed this by using this procedure: [URL] ..... Restored two records and problem solved.
As a temporary resolution we disabled Application Updates for our customers, but I do want that my customers receive Application Updates, but just the one where they are the recipient.
I need to sending health notification emails to another email.
I change admin : /usr/local/psa/bin/init_conf --update -email xxx@xxx.xx
Admin change, but health notification email not change.
But with my current host, my incoming e-mails have stopped and have done quite a lot of times, If I send an e-mail to myself from another acount, it gets bounced back.
When I'm searching for hosts, I can't see any info on mailbox allowance.
I'm using Outlook to download all my e-mails.
I don't know why they are stopping and I can't find out from the person who got the host from me, in the past he said something about me having to delete e-mails. But this would come back to mailbox space which no hosts seem to advertise, unless it goes under webs space.
If my mailbox is full or ran out of space, does anybody have any recommendations for a host that offers a good amount of mailbox space.
Another question, am I limited to the amount of e-mails I can send with some hosts? I'll be sending out Newsletters to 600+ people each month.
How can I completely disable ALL notifications from plesk? We NEVER want plesk to notify customers of overages.
Not only do we want to disable all notifications but I want someone at parallels to know about the bug.. It notifies people that they are over or approaching limits when they aren't anywhere near it.. Here is a sample of one of the notifications emails sent. Names and emails changed of course...
Code:
From: My Name [mailto:me@mydomain.com]
Sent: Wednesday, October 09, 2013 3:38 AM
To: My Customer Name
Subject: <host.mydomain.com> Notification: Resource usage by subscription has exceeded the allotments.
The 'domain.com' subscription, owned by user 'Customer Name', is approaching or already exceeded the resource usage limits:
Traffic:25 GB/month limit / 384.3 MB/month (2%) used / 24.6 GB/month (98%) remaining
As you can see, the subject clearly says they have exceeded, yet the body of the message shows they are no where near it!
how can i move 1 or more Websites to a other Costomer?

MySQL is running in strict mode and its fine for the most of our customers. But some are trying to run Contenido, thats a CMS, which could work with this mode and we have to disable mysql strict mode.
So my question is: Is it possible to disable mysql strict mode just for choosen customers?
Any time I attempt to create a customer, subscription, domain, anything I get the error "The password should be between 5 and 20 characters in length.". The password is exactly like that. On some pages it gives an error to the username I chose and the error just explains what a username is (??)....
The only actual error I've seen is one from creating an account via the command line. It was a PHP error relating to a function having issues with the encoding or something. (I think this is only relating to sending feedback though?)
Error occurred while sending feedback. HTTP code returned: 502 PHP Notice: iconv(): Wrong charset, conversion from `ISO-8859-1' to `UTF-8//TRANSLIT' is not allowed; File: /usr/local/psa/admin/plib/api-common/cu.php, Line: 599

How do we set our Plesk VPS so that when someone logs in as root, we will receive an email. It's on a VZ node.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI migrated from one server running Plesk 10.4.4 Update #59 to a new server running Plesk 11 which I then updated to 12.0.18 Update #32. Since moving to Plesk 12 the "Notify when disk space/traffic usage reaches" emails have been being sent to our customers set up on the server whereas previously they were sent to the server admin email address.
Is this a change with this version?
Are some days that in the root of my server there is a folder without a name. I think it is fail2ban to create this folder? Only I have access to the server.

So no one have access to my root more.
I am trying to change color of directories. I can do that for root by editing .bashrc under /root. How can I do that for other users created under parallels? Their home directories are /var/www/vhosts/domain.com Using root account, I created .bashrc under those directory and chown to the user. But colors are not changing. I also adding the color in /etc/bashrc system wide file and it does not work either.

not even commands like php -v works. I don't get any error back.

i have installed phpMyAdmin becouse I don't like the limitation of db management of Plesk, but I can't find the root password to access in it. I read that Plesk rename "root" user in "admin", but I can't find the password. Where is it?

And for the ftp files?
Looking at a server with Plesk 12 installed there is no root user shown in tools & settings / scheduled tasks.
Login as root and crontab -l shows root has some tasks.
On a similar server with Plesk 11.5 installed can see root user shown in tools & settings / scheduled tasks.
Is it possible to disable to root login to the panel? I do not mean the SSH login.
View 4 Replies View RelatedThere is a bug in the current Plesk version 12, which was encountered on many of our Plesk 12 server until now. I do have Plesk 12.0.18 Update #23 with CentOS 6.
When a customer changes for example the document root of a domain nginx does not recognize it and the administrator of the server do have to restart nginx manually.
This issue is serious because CSS, JS and images are not working on such a page where a customer changed the document root. Nginx is throwing 404 error until nginx is restarted manually.
Other customers do have the same issue: [URL] .....
During the installation of Plesk, at first it used the root password, and then had me create an "admin" user.
When I log in using either I don't see any difference in the UI or options. Is there a difference or a reason to use one over the other?
Or is it just to give someone access to admin Plesk without giving them full root password of the server itself?
I set it to forward those emails to my email, it's not sending any. Does anyone have a clue why? I'm able to receive other emails from the server without any problems.
View 0 Replies View RelatedWordpress is becoming more and more integrated with Plesk which makes it quite easy to setup a new domain for someone and install Wordpress so he can start.
Often this Wordpress site has to be developed and a better looking site is already available.
By default Wordpress installs in a subfolder /wordpress (I know you can change it by choosing "custom install"). After a while that website is ready for publishing.
To move that website I will have to move the running site to a subfolder and then move the content of /wordpress to the root. This is not sufficient. I then have to do a search and replace on the /wordpress and wordpress/ and replace it with /
No problem there....
But then I have lost Wordpress from the Plesk interface.....
What's the most elegant way to move a Plesk managed Wordpress site?
I don't mind if it stays in its folder (maybe preferrable?), as long as the user doesn't see that "/wordpress" in its URL.
I want to add a subdomain foo.bar.com to a master domain bar.com in the subscription bar.com. Normally this works but if I set the hosting type of the master domain to forward, I cannot add subdomains anymore. If I have already added a subdomain, I cannot change the hosting type of the master domain. Also it is not possible to add a second domain to the subscription anymore.

I was creating an Plesk extension and I need to edit root's crontab for the extension to work properly. While doing some experiment I understand that the Plesk extension works with the permission of psaadm . So I cannot use shell_exec to do this. Is there any api or cli interface where I will be able to do this. Is there any possibility to override the restriction of psaadm user through extension.
View 4 Replies View Relatedi am relatively new to Plesk, i ordered a vserver with Plesk a couple of months ago and spend a lot of time setting everything up and developing several new websites. I am used to developping new websites on a hidden adress (sth like domain.com/dev/ instead of the top level) and then switch the document root to point to the hidden directory when all is done. This practice has served me and my clients well for the last 10 years.
Using the Plesk features like built-in applications seemed like a good idea at the time but wanting to switch the new websites live i have now found out that Plesk won't let me do this since..It is impossible to change document root because there are web applications installed on this website.
I had read somewhere on the interweb that the v12 would let me do this so i just spent the better part of today updating to v12 .. but alas no luck, the limitation is still there. Is there a way to remove this limitation ?
I'm having difficulty sending an email to another email address (with a different domain) which is on the same VPS.The trouble is, on the other domain's VPS control panel, within the DNS settings, the MX records have been pointed externally (to an exchange server). Their email is turned off. But bizarrely, their mailbox is full.
It seems as though Plesk is ignoring the MX records, and sending MY email internally to the OTHER domain's mailbox on the same VPS.How do I get Plesk to send my mail to the correct EXTERNAL MX records?
