Plesk 11.x / Windows :: Page Isn't Redirecting Properly?
Apr 14, 2014
A few months ago we had upgraded our server from Win 2k3 with Plesk 8.6 to Win 2k8 with Plesk 11.5.30 migrating all the domains. After migrating, all the domains are working fine, but when trying to access the control panel using a specific user we get always the error "the page isn't redirecting properly" in different browsers, login in with Admin user it works perfect, or even with a different domain user.
Tried already to change the subscription to a different owner and get it back, it didn't work neither on the different owner or the original one.
I have a problem with my server. I am trying to make a subdomain, and it isn't working. I create it like how in all tutorials says here( click here ) . I completed all fields, but when i try to open the subdomain in a browser page, it's telling me, page not found / page doesn't exist. I have a dedicated server on window server 2008 for my website with a dedicated IP.
I have a VPS with 1&1 and i'm trying to customize the Control Panel hostname to mypcp.mycustomdomain.com...I have added mypcp A record for mycustomdomain.com pointing to the server's IP address.
Right now if I type the full URL: https://mypcp.mycustomdomain.com:8443 it works fine but if i type just mypcp.mycustomdomain.com:8443 it keeps loading until it times out but it never redirects to https.
I get this error message when I try to add a new domain from within Plesk 12 for Windows..Error: ProtDir_IIS::update() failed: Add Protected Directory failed: columns siteId, path are not unique (Error code 1)
I have added .co.uk - .com and others no issues at all.
I registered my domain yesterday and the company where I registered (Webstekker) forwarded me to this website where they obviously have there websites. I wanted to start immediately with my website. I can install Wordpress properly, so will it show easy fast made html text files.
Joomla is the one I want and need to use. I tried to install it via the application tab in either httpdocs and httpdocs/joomla. I tried custom install via the application tab, but didn't work.
Then I tried to copy the files myself via FTP to the server and tried to install it again. Made MySQL databases, but I get stucked on the last installation page where it did ask me if I wanted to install some examples. Whatever I choose it won't go further. Nvm, when I go back to the domain itself, it says I have to delete the installation map (as it should ask when install is actually finished). When I delete the installation map, my domain has no content, nothing. I can however, login via the domain/administrator
So there is something installed, the back end is working, but a website also needs some frontpage right?
Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 12.0.18 Update #26
After the creation of a subscription, DNS does not work properly.
The last successful subcription was created Sept 26, 2014.
I thought something ontoward had happened at first so attempted to delete the subscription and re-create.
On attempting to delete the subscription the following error is given
Error: Some of the selected subscriptions were not removed. Unable to remove domain: Error during domain.com removeZone: dnsmng failed: Unknown error 0x80131509 (COM Interop Error 80131509, Description: System.InvalidOperationException: Operation is not valid due to the current state of the object. at System.Management.ManagementObject.Delete(DeleteOptions options) at System.Management.ManagementObject.Delete() at WMIMsDNS.Provider.DeleteRecordsByType(String zone, String type) at WMIMsDNS.Provider.DeleteZone(String zone, UInt32& serial)) at removeZone ZoneName = 'domain.com'Click to expand...
I was asked by a user why he only saw a page with 'related links' when he went to the web site. I checked and saw the same thing if I typed www.domain.tld. If I just typed domain.tld, the page displayed fine. In trying different things tonite, I cleared my cache and now neither url works.
I am using Parallels Plesk Panel 11.5.3. If I click the 'Preview' button on the panel, everything looks great. If I click the 'Open' button, I get the 'related links' page.Today, the shcnf.com link seems to be working fine and the 'Open' button in Parallels Plesk Panel works, but the www.shcnf.com link is still showing a 'related links' page.
My DNS settings show:
shcnf.com record type: A value: 198.144.188.31 www.shcnf.com record type: CNAME value: shcnf.com
I do not currently have a preferred domain set in my hosting settings. I tried setting one the other night with no luck, though I was also playing with the DNS settings (I tried setting www.shcnf.com to an A value with the IP, hoping to force it to work).
My one website & all it's sub-domains automatically showing Plesk Default Page . After checking further, I found websites were stopped on the server . I manually started them but after few hours again same status . I repeated the same thing several times but issue not fixed.
All settings of the custom error page were made and worked correctly, however the next day the setting was lost after reset again and returned to work.
i have a problem with my plesk 12 Installation on a Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard machine.
When I select a Website and want to change the php settings for that page it wont apply the new settings.
I placed a phpinfo() file in the Folder of that Website to test that. The weird thing is when i change the memory_limt value it is visible on the phpinfo() but when i change post_max_size or upload_max_filesize nothing changes.

There has been a recent rash of Windows 2003 customers being hacked and having "UTorrent" installed, as well as having their Administrator password changed, rendering the server inaccessible.
At the moment, we have yet to determine the vulnerability in Windows allowing the hackers to breach the systems however we believe it is related to RDP. We highly suggest you are complying with the following, to lessen your risk of having your server compromised:
1) Run RDP on a non-standard port [url]
2) Run a software firewall on your machine, blocking ALL unnecessary ports on your server. You should only have the bare minimum open.
3) Limit any non-public access to your IP and trusted IP's only. This will prevent any other outside networks or servers from reaching your machine through ports which are not meant to be public (http for example)
4) Ensure you have FULL updates for your Windows O/S, immediately.
5) Ensure any 3rd party software you are running, has also been fully updated to the latest version including any patches.
Please make sure these suggestions are implemented immediately to lessen you risk of being hacked by the current wave of exploits.
I am looking for a replacement to my existing ISPConfig 3.x installation and have heard a lot of good things about Plesk, so I decided to put up a test server with a trial version of Plesk 12.The server is running Centos 6.5 64-bit minimal install with all system updates applied before installing Plesk. After installing Plesk I used the commands from the attached text-file.After compiling PHP 5.5.20 with no errors displayed on screen I created a new subscription plan as a copy of the #default domain" plan and changed the name to "PHP 5.5 website" and in the Hosting Parameters I changed PHP to run still run as a FastCGI application but use my compiled PHP 5.5.20 instead of the OS vendors PHP 5.3.3.The configure options used are the same as I did use for my ISPConfig 3.x servers.I also tried the configure options shown here: [URL]... But the command ends with a "configure: WARNING: unrecopgnized options: --enable-fastcgi"
If I compile with the attached script I get a HTTP 500 error when visiting the selected website (which is a clean installation of Drupal 7.34) and in the error_log for my test site I get this: " [Sun Dec 28 18:51:48 2014] [warn] [client x.x.x.x] (104)Connection reset by peer: mod_fcgid: error reading data from FastCGI server [Sun Dec 28 18:51:48 2014] [error] [client x.x.x.x] Premature end of script headers: index.php " x.x.x.x is the internal IP of my router/firewall.I have also looked in the Plesk Administrator GuideIs there a known issue with Plesk 12 and CentOS 6.5 64-bit when wanting to use multiple versions of PHP, since both the version compiled using the KB article above and my own attached script worked fine on my ISPConfig 3.x servers.

The weird thing is when I put the files into a subdirectory (eg www.example.com/home /) the site itself shows correctly. But when I put the files back into the document root folder(eg httpdocs) it doesn't show correctly. Also no css or javascript error messages show up in the chrome debug window?
In the Wordpress Toolkit several WP installs appear with exclamation mark and title: "A Wordpress installation was previously detected at this path, but it is not operating properly".
I am relatively new in Plesk and have problems with mail not being sent properly. On the server, there is installed a WordPress installation. Mail from this WordPress installation never reaches for example suscribers. Almost all mail remains in the Queue and will be deleted after 7 days. Could it be because I do not have an SSL Certificate? I use:
How to get plesk (12) to set the SOA record properly on existing domains?
Let me explain the issue first. We use PowerDNS supermaster mode as slave servers. The way this works is we configure PowerDNS so that it sees the plesk server as a so called supermaster.
When a so called supermaster notifies the slave servers on a zone update, if it doesn't exist it just adds the zone and pulls it in. This works very nice and without any scripting required (there's only the issue of removing them, I just have a script that deletes all domains that haven't been able to update in 2 weeks every day from the database).
The only issue here is that BIND does *NOT* ever notify the nameserver listed in the SOA. The nameserver listed in the SOA should be the master (and hence - thus plesk itself) and it being a master it should be where the changes occur and notifying it isn't necessary thus, which is why BIND doesn't do that.
Unfortunately plesk doesn't seem to grasp this concept. It will happily put any nameserver in the SOA record. Have adjusted the template and it seems to work ok for new domains now (not sure how reliably though), but it's a major pain for the existing ones. It's very hard to update them properly.
Reapplying template -> no change to master NS/SOA Switching mode to slave and back to master -> no change to master NS/SOA Resetting to default -> no change to master NS/SOA
The only way I've found so far is to delete the records manually, add them again and hope it doesn't change the order (yes it does this a lot, you'll have the correct order listed, click apply and the order just changes. Some times it adds them to the bottom of the list, some times to the top - not confusing at all).
Plesk really should be taught that if it's master, it should be the one in the SOA. Whilst my issue is larger due to the supermaster and slaves not creating the zone (and hence my slave not functioning), it is an issue in any setup because a slave listed as SOA will not be notified and doesn't pick up on the changes right away. Depending on the refresh times it might take quite some time for the slave to pick up the change then, which isn't desirable either as it will leave you with a slave that still returns incorrect records.
2 - linux hosts almost always accommodate php/mysql, which is the most common combo in doing web development projects these days - hence, there are many companies and freelancers in the market who are doing these work for reasonable rates. just check elance.com, rentacoder.com and the like to see the abundance of projects opened and done in php/mysql and the sheer number of l.a.m.p. developers.
3 - hackers dont like microsoft stuff. there is a psychological tendency to hack microsoft stuff rather than linux. .asp extension is kinda a fodder for many script kiddies, like waving a flag saying 'come here play with us'.
4 - the competition in linux hosting market causes hosts to offer more quality service.
I have a Windows 2003 server with 2GB ram running IIS and SQL 2005 express. I noticed that the server only uses around 1.2GB of its physical memory (been a few days) while page file usage seems high at 1.1GB.
SQL server has been allocated a maximum 1GB of memory while IIS has no limitations on memory usage.
Server doesn't really show any slowness at this point (not a lot of traffic). But to my understanding other than the proccesses that always use some virtual memory (around 400mb usually), page file should be only used when there is insufficient physical memory? So is there something wrong with my memory usage, 1.1GB on page file while there are still almost 50% available physical ram?
After a fail in the update procedure I had problem with plesk panel. I have run the autoinstaller from command and after that the psa database removed for some reasons.
I have follow the steps from the plesk procedure and restore is from the backup.
Everything is working now except from the home tab when I login into plesk . I get the side bar with the menus links but in the right side I get a blank page. (the other menus works fine)...
