I've got a e-mail notification problem since i upgraded from Plesk 11.5 to Plesk 12: One specific Application Update for customer X is being sent to all my customers.
Last week we did have a problem with a busted customer portal. ( not customer X, plus still on Plesk 11.5 ) I fixed this by using this procedure: [URL] ..... Restored two records and problem solved.
As a temporary resolution we disabled Application Updates for our customers, but I do want that my customers receive Application Updates, but just the one where they are the recipient.
My opinion such, that I prefer paid service as I am assured that in this case I have a guarantee that during work something will not occur. In fact the main thing continuous work.....
Well I wait for you and I hope for your participation in to this post ...
I have been DotXM's customer for the previous 2 months. Due to some unforeseen circumstances, I had to terminate my hosting with them.
A month later, I am still being charged the subscription fees by paypal. Confused, I decided to look into the matter and found out that my paypal subscription to DotXM is still not canceled. I did not have a single clue that I have to cancel my subscription to DotXM in paypal too.
I have tried emailing DotXM owner several times with no reply. Shouldn't an ethical business person refund my money in this situation?
HostGator is the only one I know of taking your 404 traffic by default. I have never experienced this with any other host I have used.
Personally it does not bother me much because I know how to change it simple. I'm a big fan of HostGator otherwise. They do provide a great service. I just find it weird your 404 page is a HostGator ad with a coupon code.
Is this a popular thing I have just never run into? I know it is the norm with free hosting providers.
I currently have one blog on wordpress (a sub domain like name.wordpress.com).
I want to purchase a domain and also move it to a paid host. I am not really technically knowledgeable to do this. Have visited a few step by step guides but find them quite confusing.
guide to do the move/transfer of the blog, more for a beginner? And by the way is it simple to do or actually more for a professional?
I’ve ordered a server from this company more than 4 days ago and paid for it straight away. they promised it to be setup in 24 hours but no reply since.
If I’m not getting a reply to this post in 24 hours I’m filing a chargeback. I’ve tried emailing them directly or through tickets
I am trying to set a vpn system up on a windows 2003 server, that will tunnel my and some friends internet thru it, making it secure encrypted esspecially when using unsecure devices using wifi.
we tried this on a test server with 1 network card, we manage to setup the vpn and loggin, but we cannot manage to get our internet thru it.
That is basically the most important to it, we dont want local server harddisk access or anything, just to get our internet thru the vpn so it is secure and encrypted.
The test box had 1 network card, and if we take a cheap server for this purphose it will probably have 1 card also.
Who can help us achieve this and explain us how for future refernces ? We are willing to pay a fee.
As described in the title I need a paid monitoring service which provides sms alerts and tells SoftLayer immediately so they can investigate the issue and make what needed to bring the server online.
I like hyperspin.com service but it looks there is no way to send SoftLayer an automated notification because there is a need to open a ticket.
I can't be attendant at my office 24 hours so I need this service which alerts me with sms about the fail and simultaneously tells my provider so my server will not be down for a long time.
I signed up with service from infinitie.net after seeing an offer they had on this link [url]
This was on July 21st about 8PM EST. Link above states "PLEASE ALLOW UP TO 2 HOURS FOR YOUR NEW VPS ACCOUNT ACTIVATE ONCE ORDERED."
First reply took 8hrs, second 9hrs, third 5hrs, and to this date I haven't heard back from them since Jul 23, 2007 2:32 PM EST.
Incomplete login details were issued on Jul 23, 2007 2:32 PM EST. However, message stated "CPanel is finalizing its install and will be complete in 2 hours." I immediately asked them to please advise when setup is complete on Jul 23, 2007 2:56 PM EST. After not hearing anything back I decided to cancel and emailed request at Jul 24, 2007 2:54 PM EST.
I have a couple services I'm happy with elsewhere. I more or less just wanted to separate an account and see what other options were out there. I wasn't bothered by the fact setup was slow. The main issue was if they take this long to reply and handle simple issues prior to setup, what happens if I'm setup one day and there is a more serious issue? Since initial cancel request I attempted to contact them on several other occasions by both direct email and their ticket system. I never received a response other then the standard automatic "Thank you for writing to Infinitie's Support Team."
I have disputed transaction with paypal today. At a last attempt I emailed infinitie.net yesterday and told them unless refund was issued this is action I would be forced to take. No response so I proceeded. I will update and let you all know how this turns out.
Signed up and paid the first month for a 'Linux Entry' + 1 GB mySQL around 4:45PM today. It's now 11:21PM and I have not heard anything or received any Emails for remote access. Does it usually take this long?
Reading thru this site they seemed to be one of the best if your on a $30/month budget.
Maybe setting up the Linux stuff takes longer for them than Windows?
root@server [~]# replace ns3.host.com ns1.host.com -- /var/named/*
-bash: /usr/bin/replace: Argument list too long
How can I work past this?
Using Centos 4.5 / cpanel
I bought a VPS its taken 18 hours still no setup is this normal?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have just made a personal website using photoshop, html, css and php. My site contains an index page, a gallery page with 8 photos, a contact page with a form and an extra page with some quotes. I am planning to use a paid host for the first time. Based on feedbacks from some of my sitepoint friends, I decided to go in for shared hosting. I thought of using Hostdogs.com as they have the option of a monthly billing cycle. I thought that I have the option of changing my host after a month if I am not happy with them. I have also read a lot about Hostgator.com. A lot of sitepoint members seem hooked to it.
1. Can anyone give an opinion as to which host I should go in for? Hostdogs also give a free domain. Is there any reason I should go in for Hostgator instead of Hostdogs?
2. One more question, I have heard that once I have a site running, I can earn money through the advertisements placed on it? How do I place advertisements on my site?
3. One last and very important question is whether it is right to go in for shared hosting at this point of time. I just read this
Quote:
When you look for a suitable host, be sure to check out the amount of bandwidth that will be available to your site. Even a site that doesn't require a great deal of data transfer per month could run slowly if you're hosted on a shared server; particularly if you are on the same server as a more popular or bandwidth-intensive site.
The more sites hosted on a server, the more likely they are to compete with each other for available resources, including bandwidth. This is why you may notice a reduction in server response times during busy periods, or during a sudden peak in traffic at a busier site on a server that you share.
This made me wonder whether I should go in for shared hosting. But then mine is a personal home page which may not have so much of traffic.
4. What does the paragraph below mean? How does one handle ones registration manually?
Self-Management (no cost)
Select this option if you prefer to handle your registration manually.Your web host can establish service with any Top-Level Domain (TLD), international or domestic.
How long does it normally take to get a shared account setup with a hosting provider? I am now in my 5th day and still have not had the account setup. I have made my DNS changes and I just keep getting email responses that it is coming. Should I be worried or is a week the normal response time in a shared environment?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI recently read around here and people had their VPS setup within 5 minutes in some cases. I've ordered a VPS from VirPus and I'm not sure how long it usually takes to setup. I'm nearing the 24 hour mark so I'm not sure. How long on average is an acceptable waiting time? or how long would you say it should take?
View 7 Replies View RelatedHad a problem whereby the best solution was to ask support to restore my VPS from the Virtuozo backup.
It has now been 2 days and no idea when it will complete.
Seems excessive, or something wrong, but support just say "It is not uncommon for restores to take this long with the backup software we are using".
Just wondering, have any of you ever needed to ask support to restore from backup, and how long did it take?
The amount of data is approx 30GB.
I just signed up with a new host. How long should I expect it to transfer sites through WHM? I know it depends on the size of the sites but how long does the average 100M site?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI got one free with my host, but it seems tohave been over 24 hours since i ordered it (via my host) how long does it take, am i being impatient, or is it just the host not bothering to sort it out?
View 12 Replies View RelatedFor some reason on a box I have, it takes 25 seconds from the time I hit enter for a usernames password for it to login via SSH. I am running CentOS 4.4
Is there something I can check to see why it is taking so long and/or fix this?
How long did I keep a host denied by BFD?
BFD in my server adds at least 5 hosts to the deny rules of APF every day.
For how long should I maintain that?
There is a limit for this rules?
I have a server running SUSE. dual quad core chips, 16 gigs of RAM.
It's a webserver only running Apache.
We have been having a problem the past few days where page loads take forever yet CPU load and RAM load are very, very low.
I've noticed when it happens when viewing HTOP that TASKS jump from about 350 average to 1000 average. Pages won't start loading until this number drops.
I see no errors in error_log or messages however restarting Apache seems to fix the issue?
I've tried messing around with KEEPALIVE settings with no help.
Any clues on where to start? Pretty lost on this one becuase I see no errors and the load both CPU and RAM are low.
I am rebuilding Apache on my server.
However, it has been stuck at "adding module mod_auth_passthrough.c" for the past hour , is it normal?
How long does rebuilding Apache normally take?
I am using Servint and I am looking for another provider with similar reputation/reliability. I have heard many good things about Zone.net on this forum, but they don't have any reviews older than a few months. Have they been around long, if so, why no early posts?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI signed up with namecheap.com for RapidSSL. I had my hosting provider generate a CSR for me and I put it in namecheap. Then I receive an email from namecheap that says:
==========
Thank you for your RapidSSL order.
Supplier Order Id: ######
An email will be sent to the designated approver with instructions on how to approve your certificate request for xxx.domain.com.

This was sent about two hours ago. I need this SSL fast as it is the backbone of my website. Namecheap doesn't have phone support and RapidSSL is closed on weekends. Any insight on when I'll get instructions to move onto the next step?

what happened not sure really, but asked volumedrive to reboot the machine like an hour ago and it has still not come online, anyone know or has experience with VD and how long it usually takes them to reboot machine? Or is there any outages anyone is aware that VD is facing right now ?
Damn i got some upset users already ready to shoot the bunny, baah this proxy hosting is kinda harder than one would imagine
Anyone have experience with this company? (Ecatel.nl / Ecatel.net / Ecatel Ltd)
On Pre-Sale the support reply to my tickets very very fast (even on weekend or at night).
After read a few topics here on wehostingtalk, today, at 14h ago i decided to rent the server and pay the bill, since that i dint have a single answer to my questions, i already try to contact suport 3 or 4 times.
This is my first dedicated server, could someone tell me if this is normal?
On ecatel.se (same company) I see a "Server ready 60 minutes after order" but as i say already pass 14h and nothing.
why I have long processes on these two? (time wise)
