Forwarding/Default+POP3 Addy Doesnt Work - Piping/Webmail Works
My server which runs cPanel (license issued touchsupport) is having problems with handling emails.
I use an external DNS provider (editdns.net) only for this 1 particular domain for handling many Records and such. Through their panel, I have added my mail server's record, i.e. "mailserver.tld".
Now there is a problem with one part of the email issue. I have email piping setup and 1 webmail account setup too. These two work flawlessly. No issues with them. But email forwarding and default address doesn't work.
I am confident that the email settings are working right because, when my clients send an email, piping works and my support system creates a new ticket. But the email forwarding/Default EMail doesn't.
Not just that, I cannot even connect to the webmail account I created via POP3. I 100% sure that I used the correct login credentials and also tried the "+" and ":" for the username part. Just doesn't work. But I can access and read my emails via the Webmail (squirrelmail).
Please help me out with this as soon as possible.

POP3/Webmail On My VPS
I just purchased an almost bare VPS and installed Cpanel myself. Problem is the mail is not working right. I connect, try and login and repeatedly get Login Failed. I've tried re-creating the emails accounts, i've tried the default mail account that gets created, and i've tried logging into the webmail with the same login problems. I've also telneted to my server from my pc fine, but once again the login just fails. This made me look towards there being a server misconfiguration... because these are newly created mail accounts with correctly entered details. In WHM, i tried restarting the POP3 service and the output doesn't look usual.. Attempting to restart cppop Waiting for cppop to restart.... . . . . . . . . . . finished. cppop status couriertcpd is disabled Service: [cppop] has been disabled by the sys admin Not sure if it's related or how to fix it... could really use the help since all my mail will probably get dropped after DNS propogation goes thru =/

Cpanel :: No POP3 / Webmail Access
One cPanel account out of the entire server is the only one affected. This one user, can not login to POP3 or Webmail for any of his email accounts. I have checked the permissions and file owner/group on the files and folders in: /home/USERNAME/mail/* and /home/USERNAME/etc/* I have also tried restarting the POP3 service and cPanel. I have verified his passwd file has correct permissions and is in the correct format. I have tried resetting his email passwords. I have even tried too create a new email account. Still.. No POP3 / Webmail access. His email accounts are listed in cPanel. I have installed ConfigServer Mail Manage (WHM Addon), and his domain will NOT show his email accounts (of course all other domains on the server are fine). I know this is probably a configuration file or a file permission problem somewhere... I just can't find where! Any advice?

Webalizer Doesnt Work Using EnsimPro X
After migrating from the old ensim to the new "X", everything is working fine, except for the webalizer, I activated webalizer in one domain a few days ago.. and everyday Im trying to see the webalizer information, and it is always displaying this message: Could not retrieve the requested site report because the Web server logs have not yet been generated. These are generated once a day. Please check again later. I also tried forcing the log rotating for that site, but the problem still there. Server is RHES 4 with EnsimPro X, log generation and webalizer is activated for the domain.

Monit + Qmail Alerts Doesnt Work
I configured monit to send me email alerts when apache is using too many resources but I cannot receive email alerts. I use Qmail. As for syslog, there is this message: monit[6473]: Sendmail: error receiving data from the mailserver 'localhost' -- Resource temporarily unavailable I tried to add for server name the name used in MX record but with the same result. Btw: other things configured in cron (eg. RKHUNTER) send me alerts OK.

Ping Doesnt Work Until Remote Desktop Connection Is Made
I have a remote XP PC: 172.16.1.5 OpenVPN connection with route added for 192.168.2.0/24 to go via the VPN Now on the other end the network consists of: I have a OpenVPN server inside the lan on 192.168.2.245 Its default gateway is 192.168.2.1 I have 3 Windows Servers, 192.168.2.246, 247 and 248. All gateways are set to 192.168.2.1. I have a ethernet router on the network, 192.168.2.1, it has a route added for 192.168.0.0/16 to go via 192.168.2.245, and route added for 172.16.0.0/24 to go via 192.168.2.245 also). the 192.168.0.0/16 is incase any other LANs are connected at a later date, if computers saw any packets not on the the 192.168.2.x subnet they would be routed to the default gateway which would then pass them to the OpenVPN router. The trouble is, i can remotely connect and ping to the OpenVPN router fine and also the ethernet router, however when i ping any of the Windows boxes it times out. But i can open up Remote Desktop and connect to the windows box without problem, infact if i am running 'ping 192.168.2.246 -t' it will suddenly come alive but only after the RDP connection is made. Is this something funny with the routing? I want to keep the OpenVPN server internal to the network and i appreciate it is hitting the ethernet router then being passed to the OpenVPN but something is weird as it fires up RDP fine but not ping. No firewalls are enabled on any of the boxes. If i log into ssh on the OpenVPN router or ethernet router i can ping from that to the windows boxes fine. Its as if a ICMP redirect is issued, and all is well after the 1st connection. Not too sure but could anyone be kind enough to enlighten me?

Installed Apache Can Access Via LAN IP + Localhost But WAN IP Doesnt Work
I'm on windows vista. I've got an SDSL line into the house with a dedicated IP 62.etc. I've then got a Prestige 791R and all PC's plugged in to that. I've also got a wireless router for my Wii set up. Basically I've set up this DHCP thingy to start at 192.etc.3 and the Wireless router is at 192.etc.1 and the Prestige is at 192.etc.2 my pc is at 192.etc.9 This is about where my knowledge stops unfortunately. I have installed apache as the most basic default install I think you can and it seems to be working absolutely fine. I'm assuming I could also install PHP and MySQL etc and wouldn't have too much of a problem, however, my friend cannot seem to access the environment from the WAN IP and when I type in my WAN IP I get the prestige router's control panel. I read somewhere that I needed to forward port 80, now I can 'open' ports in the prestige control panel but I did try opening port 80 in the control panel and pointing it to my LAN IP (92.etc.9) but it didn't seem to work. I'm at a bit of a loss so if anyone could point me in the right direction I would be most grateful, just to clarify: //localhost loads the html file 100% //192.etc.9 loads the html file 100% //62.WANIP internally loads my prestige routers control panel //62.WANIP externally does not load a page (cannot be found) If you need any more info just let me know and I'll get it.

Email Login In Cpanel Webmail Doesn't Work
I created an email account in cpanel. But then when I try to click 'webmail' by that account, it won't work. It takes me to the option screen where I can click Horde Mail or Squirrel Mail. After I click either one of them, it then just takes me to a log in screen like it didn't accept my login info. I try typing in my username and password but it doesnt work. Is this a permission thing I need to set in WHM? I'm clueless.

I can't seem to have any luck with these damned companies I buy renewed support contracts through. So here's my new issue, finally ModernBill and Kayako are setup and the box is running however i'm trying to get e-mail piping setup for E-Support. Ive created an email account in plesk both as a mail box and without a mailbox to see if that made a difference I added the line with quotations to the file it says to add which mind you isn't there in the first place it's a new file. I've created the email queue pipe in kayako and no go sending an email to that address doesn't bounce back nor does it open a ticket. E-mail piping in Plesk Control Panel This procedure explains how to set up e-mail piping in the Plesk Control Panel. 1. Via SSH, you need to manually edit the file: a. /var/qmail/mailnames/company.com/.qmail-support b. Where support is the e-mail alias name (support@yourdomain.com). 2. The .qmail-support is the name of the file we are editing, and in it we will place the pipe command. 3. Inside this file, the following command needs to be entered: a. “|/home/httpd/vhosts/company.com/httpdocs/full/path/to/cli/index.php” 4. Piping Email OR Similar
I try to work out a system where I can get the context of an incoming E-mail and input it to another E-mail which I then forward to a different address. Must be able to preconfigure both the incoming and outgoing E-mail addresses so to be working as an automated kind of system. Any ideas, email manager lists, softwares, scripts, even some ticketing system would be considered. Please, do post your experience/knowledge. I just need to makeb a simple simple system to do the job described above.

Host That Doesnt Oversell
As posted in a previous thread I noted how I have been hosting with GeekStorage. After a little bit of investigation I found that a total of 593 (possibly more) website where being hosted on the same server as mine. I'm not sure if this is overselling but because I'm new to all this but I'm pretty sure it is. Now, I'm looking on switching from GeekStorage to someone who doesn't oversell. I would be fine with 10-20GB of storage and >150GB bandwidth. Budget is 5-10$ a month.

Pc-core.net Doesnt Care
so for over 3 weeks now pc-core.net had some problems with their servers and my accounts were just lost and no one answers my support tickets they just erase them, they disabled my account to support so i can only submit support tickets and click the link on the email. they told me to email cshelpdesk.com to get my account moved to a new server and cshelpdesk is just telling me im SOL. they dont have access to the server i was at and basically to F off. is there anything i can do? im basically just being ignored and they dont even have a number to them.

Using Www Site Doesnt Resolve

I am using Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition SP1 and i have recently set the computer up to 4GB RAM. I notice a problem occur error : When I start the computer, Bios detected all 4GB Ram. However, i have checked Total physical memory in General (My Computer-> Properties) doesnot detect all 4GB Ram. it only detect 3GB Ram. I have checked that this OS support up to 32GB . Uploading Flash Video Files To Host_A Doesnt Play Well But Plays FIne On Host_B
to upload some flash videos over to our web host. All the videos have been uploaded to << link removed >> and in there you will seea flash_video directory, in there should be a html file where you can double click and watch the flash video. Now go ahead and try it, click on the HTML file and click CONTINUE and try clicking on MODULE 1.. You will see a video play to the left but on the right are bunch of POWERPOINT slides that will appear as the guy continues to speak. THAT DOESNT SHOW.. POP3 Blocking
I am hitting a limit on number of POP signons per hour imposed by my host. I host maybe 10 domains on this account and have 4 or 5 email addresses to monitor for each domain. If I check once every 15 minutes I run up against a limit on the number of POP3 signons permitted by my ip. Add this to having multiple mail clients behind a NAT router and I am beginning to have real problems. Does anyone else have this issue? Is my only workaround to forward all email to a single account or install a local mail server? Does 100 POP signons an hour from a single IP sound like a lot to anyone? Any advice?

POP3 Filtering
Even though I have temporarily installed Exchange Server on my dedicated server, I still am thinking about using POP3 instead, simply because of multiple email accounts and my outlook client can use multiple email accounts, and setup rules/filters to direct incoming emails to specific recepients to folders, which is what I want. Sure, in Windows I know how to set up POP3 BUT what security can I setup for POP3 email accounts? In addition, what about spam/filtering? How would I set that up to stop spam coming in?

POP3 And PHP
I've been having a problem with server the last two days. Yesterday, my server went offline from 2pm and I caught it at about 9pm and the hosting company fixed it within an hour or so. The named service configuration was messed up some how. Today, my server has been working correctly (except the part below). The emails are collecting on the server and I can view/compose/reply/etc on webmail, but both outlook and thunderbird aren't getting the messages and I'm not getting any connection errors. To fix this, I restarted exim (I didn't know if that was correct) and I notified my hosting company because it didn't fix the problem. They went in and restarted vm-pop3d and da-popb4smtp. Still no luck. Email still works on the server but not via outlook/thunderbird. Then, later today, my sever was VERY sluggish. I thought it might have been a DOS attack but they said that there was no evidence of it and so they looked at the processes and they said PHP was being a hog. Once the restarted httpd they said it returned to normal. I'm thinking I have a problem and I'm turning here to get some help. The server has been running, for the most part pretty well. However it went down on Feb 10, Mar 2, May 4 and May 14. I think that I need to optimize it a bit and I was wondering if anyone can please give me some advice to getting things running leaner and meaner? Also... Constantly Blocked On Pop3
I just setup a new pop account in Outlook 2007 and provided all the proper details as I have on other pop accounts I have setup. I am constantly getting blocked by the firewall on the server (CSF + LFD) and I am 100% positive I am using the right password. This happens every time I setup a new pop account and I don't know why. Email hosting... Just need POP3 I am looking for a good hosting solution for a client of ours. Requirements are quite simple. Need direction really on who to go for. We need:35 mailboxes Dedicated new IP address OK with POP3 service, no MS exchange hosting needed. Can work with Linux hosting as well. 50MB per mailbox space What we plan to do is create an MX record for the domain and point it to the provider. That would in turn point to the IP where all the mailboxes reside. The web hosting is already taken care of at a company called Host Depot based in Florida. Its that simple. I am having trouble looking for a good, trustworthy and reliable provider for this. Rackspace came back to us qouting $2.80 per mailbox per month but no dedicated IP. Also considered Enom but they are qouting $9.95 per mailbox. Looking forward to your recommendations. Any questions?

I'm using Webmin and Dovecot IMAP/POP3 Server. Let's say I have a virtual server mydomain.com owned by abc user. I add a new user to this server: contact (contact@mydomain.com). POP3 login for this user would be contact-abc. How do I change it to contact@mydomain.com?

POP3 Not Working On Outlook
I've found today that my outlook can't download email messages from server. I thought it was a mail server but the messages are there when I look through webmail. For 48 hours I didn't receive any email in outlook and I was alerted today by my customers since they don't receive anything too. The strange thing is that outlook runs normally. It doesn't display any error: just doesn't download any messages from inbox. I have my customers complaining BAD service (about 80 customers on that VPS). It was working and now it isn't... I opened a support ticket to my provider (jaguarpc.com) but they are taking toooooo long to solve it and their answers are ineffective - I think they are not giving the correct attention to this issue. As you know, email issues are big since online businesses rely on them. I have another VPS with jaguarpc and pop3 is working fine... If someone could give me a hint about this issue maybe I could solve it through cpanel or give that info to support. By the way, IMAP works fine. Just POP3 doesn't work.

Setting Up Pop3 And Other General Qs
I received my login details to my new VPS last night and set up apache, php and mysql without any real problems. I'm looking to move my client websites away from Dreamhost to this VPS, but before I do so I need to figure out how to set up pop3. Specifically I need to set up pop3 accounts with exactly the same usernames and passwords as on Dreamhost so I don't have to phone my clients up and walk them through configuring Outlook again! So, I'd to be able to log into pop3 with either m123456 (random number) or 'email@domain.com'. This way I'll be able to set it all up and then just flick the dns record over to the vps Can anyone recommend a way of doing this?

Too Many Pop3 Connection Will Be Blocked
an account has about 30 mailboxes, their office have two wireless AP (AAB) to connection, if people use AP-A to connection the pop3 fail, they should wait about two hours to connect well, but in the same time,use AP-B to connection the pop3 well. i just wonder if pop3 have connection limit for each ip? where can i check this problem? my os is centos with whm/cpanel

Unlimited Pop3 Email
Does anyone know a host that allows you to send as many emails per hour as you like. Currently my host limit me to 100 an hour but my sites sends about 500 altogether per hour. Reason there are so many is because i have a couple sites now with a good size user base each and everytime a comment is left or something like that a notification is sent, especially on the forum. I don't need a limited host though because the sites are getting bigger and i don't wanna be moving around to find a new one everytime.

Windows Server POP3/SMTP
I'm running Windows Server 2003. I have two domains on separate IPs: test1.com [xxx.xxx.xxx.160] test2.com [xxx.xxx.xxx.161] I am running two separate SMTP virtual servers (with different access rules) -- with two separate drop folders. default SMTP Virtual Server [assigned to 160] second SMTP VS [assigned to 161] I want test1.com added to the default SMTP server and test2.com added to the second SMTP server. I have read that I must add these domains via the POP3 service. The problem is that adding domains via POP3 service will always add the domains to the DEFAULT SMTP server. I want test2.com added to the second SMTP server. Is there a solution to this problem, or am I doing something wrong? Can xmail handle this scenario?

POP3 Foolishness: Backing It Up, Nuking It And Starting Over
So, I have my own dedicated server and have been rather neglectfull. I currently have about 24 thousand email messages from the last few years. Like a tard, I always clicked "leave a copy of messages on server" on my mail clients. So, I've been doing some reading and have decided to start over usin IMAP instead of POP3. Since I have all the messages in Outloop (go go 700 Meg .PST!) I',m looking for the best way to: 1. Back up my mail on the server 2. Nuke it all 3. Convert to IMAP I then plan on installing something like http://www.roundcube.net/ I'm on a linix redhat server running cpanel.

Email - Host Only Allow POP3 On Outgoing Mail
I bought a shared hosting account, specifically for my own personal email account. I wanted to use IMAP obviously, but the host only allow IMAP on incoming mail... And Pop3 on outgoing. Is this a problem? What will this mean I cannot do? And secondly, if anyone has a blackberry, will this style work with a new blackberry?

I just installed wamp here on my laptop to set up a developer machine for my website. I am used to going into the browser and just typing in "localhost" and having it bring up the test website. I'm sure there is probably something wrong with the configuration of the wamp files because it works for 127.0.0.1.
