2 Month 10tb.com Review

Apr 6, 2009

After being with 10tb.com for months I decided to write a review of my experience so far.

A little about why i joined them:
my main reason to moving from 10tb.com was simply because of it's amount of quality bandwidth backed by softlayer.com and the fact my 3 sites were outgrowing my 3 VPS's (knownhost and FDC).

Below I've rated each aspect of my 10tb.com experience.

Uptime: rating 9.8/10
Uptime has been great, the only downtime I've ever experienced in 2 months was 30min I believe.

Managed Support provided by Supreme
Support: 9/10
The first month with 10tb.com I decided to get help with various issues like optimization and security hardening, for the most part it has been great, the only thing that annoyed me was the way some tickets were initially handled. For example sometimes if I requested help with something I'd get half an answer or a do it your self instructions.

Sales: 8/10
My sales experience was a bumpy one,this was because I had my server upgraded to a better special deal which required them to swap my physical server, in the process they issued me a total new invoice which i paid, this resulted in overlapping invoices and tons of confusing with tickets going back and forth and since the time zone difference between Australia and US is quite large this caused it to drag on even longer than it should have.

Although I rated it 8 I believe most people won't experience what I have so it should really be 9/10 -1 for response times for non US residents.

Hardware & Bandwidth speeds: 10/10
Nothing to say much here except everything has been perfect! simply quality stuff backed by softlayer that you can't go wrong with.

Value: 10/10
I've been checking offers on WHT almost daily and still do to this day,and I think I have one of the best deals out there.
for $209 I'm getting a Quad Core Xeon 3220/8gb RAM/2x250gb/Cpanel/20GB NAS/ 10TB tier 1 bandwidth.

That about rounds my experience, I truly hope to continue with them and can see my self purchasing another server in the foreseeable future

Thanks 10tb.com and keep up the good work!

Experience Of Using 10tb.com Service.(to 10tb, To Eming))

Sep 18, 2009

I started my own hosting business from July, and placed my first three orders to softlayer.com.

I have to cost down now, and place my first order to 10tb.com last friday.

Because I live in Asia, and my english is not good enough.

So...I have to use email or ticket system to ask some questions,

I just want to give you some difference message here.

All the some steps to setup my server when I place my order to softlayer, they just spend 2 hrs.

And about the tickets I have sent to softlayer, They have no more than 15~20 minutes to reply me.

But when I have placed my order at Sep/10/2009 to 10tb.com, the server was ready for 3 days later.....

I think my next billing cycle should be extended three days, right?

And the ticket I have created on the control panel of 10tb.com, they usually reply me about 12~24 hrs later, sometimes more than 24 hrs.

When everything was ready with my server, it's Sep/14/2009.

And two day pass...I found that you are offering a 50% discount(first month) at 10TB.com.

Just one day, I wasted more than $170 USD...

I only complain about it, I hope that you could have best service in the future.

Because I plan to place all my servers with 10tb.com in the future.

And I will appreciate that if you have a great service in the future too.

I have to purchase another server recently, I hope I will get a better experience.

TO Dear eming :

I think 10tb.com provide a good service, but maybe I hope you will be better.

About my experience, you could check the ticket ID#24130306.
And I want to place another order to 10tb, you could see the email I have sent to Tom and you yesterday.

100Mbps Dedicated Servers Needed (10tb.com Reviews?)

Oct 23, 2009

I'm in the market to purchase a handful of dedicated servers here in the next few months. I'm looking for the most "bang for the buck". And preferably don't want to pay more than $700 - $800/server/month. I stumbled onto 10tb, I've been doing a little bit of research, and so far have not found any negative reviews other then people trying to user their vps servers from outside the US and expecting 1Gbps speeds.

Anyway, I digress, their price tags are definitely in my price range. About $638 for an 8core server 2.26Ghz 12GB ram 2x250hdd, 100mbps unmetered. Best deal I've seen yet.

So far I like what I see with 10TB but i want to verify that I can expect to get the results I need. I've talked to support and they say it is dedicated bandwidth which means I can burst into 100mbps for long periods of time. I care about this more than anything. Most of these servers are going to need that connection, and I expect to max it out quite often. We plan on launching several game servers so bandwidth is definitely a necessity.

I will also be hosting our web-servers as well and will be looking to deploy load balancing when the time comes. So I would also like the ability have these servers in a private vlan.

Are there any 10TB customers out there using their 100Mbps unmetered plans with heavy loads? I know soft-layer has an amazing network. I just want to make sure this is dedicated bandwidth and I can loadup the port for days if needed. Without experiencing problems, server being shutdown, or extra fees coming into play.

I can probably expect to be at a normal load of about 60% or more bandwidth usage per server.

10TB really stands out to me because its on soft-layers network, and they have 3 different locations I can locate these servers. Which since we'll be deploying game servers is great to ensure low pings to all our clients.

I am open to looking at other hosts as long as they can provide me with the above requirements. I'm very interested in what 10TB costumers have to say.

Dedicated Server In Europe Area

Oct 22, 2009

I'm specifically looking for a server in the European area since I am from South Africa.

The reason being they will be more or less in the same timezone as I am and they also generally provide the fastest ping times (220ms to a server in Europe as opposed to 350ms to a server in USA).

I will be using the server as our own hosting space and hopefully be able to rent a monthly license for Parallels Plesk so that I may be able to resell hosting space - this is the primary reason for the dedicated server. I would like to know whether getting at least a quad core for this setup is essential or if I can get away with a dual core (in the case of hosting say 50 - 100 different websites).

So far I have been looking at keyweb.de which has a dual-core setup at 79euro installation fee and 49euro monthly fee. Their quad-core setup is 99euro installation and 59euro monthly. One drawback is it seems that they don't install Ubuntu linux (which is the OS i'm after). Another one is that their website isn't very intuitive - I cannot see whether it is possible to bundle Plesk with my order. I do however like the fact that they generally allow torrents.

Dedicated Server Company In Europe

Apr 30, 2008

actually I have my dedicated server with ThePlanet since many years ago, where I'm really happy, but due to recent spanish laws, I need to move everything to a european dedicated server as ThePlanet isn't certificated at the "Safe Harbor directive".

============
This is what I actually have:

2x1024 MB DDR 266 ECC
1 Dell 1600SC Dual Xeon MB DAT54AMB8C2
2 Intel P4 Xeon 2.8 GHz 533FSB (4x2.8)
2500Gb Bandwidth
Linux+Cpanel
============

What I'm looking for, is a serius company (no reseller company) with similar dedicated servers configurations. What I'm looking for is also a 1Gbps uplink connection. Bandwith is not so important, as my monthly bandwidth is only about 300Gb.

I've seen very fast (connection) servers in Netherland but don't know how serious they are.

OVH (apparently) looks also fine, but I've read very bad reviews about them.

DDoS Protected Dedicated Server IN EUROPE

Feb 22, 2008

After being hit by a DDoS (managed to evade it for a while, but it's still painful due to downtimes) I'm looking for a DDoS-protected server somewhere in Europe. I don't care about the exact location, it just has to be outside Canada and the USA. I do not require a lot of traffic - using just about 1.5GBs per day, diskspace also is not an issue, so the main things is the DDoS protection, connection availability and the general level of service.

Searching through this forum, I've found the only possible option for a DDoS-protected being DataPipe (contacted and awaiting for a quote already). Have I missed something else? Are there any alternative good hosters with reliable networks and protection in the EU?

Dedicated Server Required In Western Europe

Jun 3, 2008

Does anyone have any recommendations for a company that could provide a reasonably priced, reliable, unmanaged server for me somewhere in western europe?

I'll need a reasonable amount of bandwidth, so this is a consideration.

I'm based in the UK, but willing to look at other, more digitally enlightened countries nearby (Norway, Finland, France, Germany, etc) to get a better price since servers are very expensive here.

The server be hosting a big AJAX application so latency is a consideration also.

Rental Dedicated Server In Europe: It Is Important To The Quality Of Reliability!

Aug 24, 2008

Requires a dedicated server in Europe.

Requirements:

1) Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 2,2 GHz;
2) RAM: 2024 MB DDRAM;
3) Hard Drive: 2x 250 GB SATA (can be smaller);
4) Traffic: At least 1000 GB or unrestricted;
5) Port: 100 Mbit / sec. (ideally 1000 Mbit / sec.);
6) IP-Addresses: 2.

Mandatory conditions:
1) A great date-center;
2) Operational and anglophone support;
3) Ability to establish a panel, for example: ISPmanager.

Recommended requirements:
1) Protection against DDoS-attacks;
2) The ability to administer the server, a company that provides services to lease (regular updates, round-the-clock monitoring, etc.).

The server is designed for the site, which will:

1) Forum;
2) Video and audio materials (up to 20 spots, for up to 10 minutes each), which can be viewed directly on the site using flash-player or download. Clips will not be frequently changed or supplemented;
3) Downloading developed software, up to 0.5 Mb;
4) Download documentation formats: DOC and PDF, up to 2 Mb;
All audio, video and documentation for its own production.

Additional information:

The number of visitors, initially to 10000 per month (probably much less or slightly more, not yet known) The audience will be visitors from the following countries: Ukraine, Russia, Poland, UK, Germany, France, USA and Canada.

Budget:
up to $ 200 a month. But if such amount is not sufficient for the entry requirements, are ready to revise the budget.

Need a really high-quality channel of communication and operational support, etc. Perhaps for these tasks, you recommend other requirements to a server and placing the territory? Check your real council.

Also look in the direction of affordable rental server and utilization of services: Akamai Technologies. If someone has experience working with Akamai, I ask, share their views. Should I use it for such a project?

A lot of information has been revised to servers in Germany, UK and USA. But the single answer, yet to be found.

Reccomendation For 25GB Per Month Of Bandwidth Site

Apr 28, 2008

Right now his website uses around 25GB per month of bandwidth and has only been open about 1-2 months. This is a phpBB 3.0 forum with around 7000 members (most active) and grows every week by another hundred members or so.

Right now I am hosting him on my dreamhost account, but he wants to set himself up on his own host. I agree with him since dreamhost is having a lot of mySQL database connection errors that last a long time a few times a month and he needs to be up and running 24/7 for his visitors.

He would like a host that can easily support this bandwidth (is 100-200 GB per month a good estimate taking into account expansion? also he is going to open up two new sites that would be equally as popular most likely) And he also wants the host to allow for future upgrades to bandwidth and/or storage.

Storage is not a huge issue for him. he isn't hosting any crazy media. Just a 2 cms installs and 2 forum installs. so 20 - 30 GB would probably be good right?

reliability and performance of the host should be a little better than dreamhost's since this shouldn't be an overseller type host right?

Consuming Heavy Bandwidth Upto 2000 US$+ Per Month

Jun 14, 2008

We are facing a very problematic situation since last several months due to accessive bandwith usage. But we are sure this is only local traffic.

We have 2 Servers with our hosting provider
Server A - this is a VPS
all our webfiles/domains/dns/nameservers reside on this server

Server B - this is a dedicated server
contains only databases

(we are actively running vbulletin based forums on this servers)

Since last several months we are facing huge bandwith increase since we have transferred only our databases to Server B. (earlier database + everything was on Server A) We never ever consumed even 50% of the entire allocated bandwith in past when we were on Server A.

But only after moving the database from Server A to Server B we have found this tremendous increase,

Can we do something about same ? as both the servers belong to same hosting provider.
We are not sure but expect that this is only local network traffic between 2 servers.

Dedicated Hosting For Under Or Around $100/month?

May 28, 2008

I've gone through a few shared web hosts, and they don't meet the needs for a new project I'm working on. I was hoping someone could perhaps recommend me a good reliable US based web host with the following requirements:

- Dedicated
- 80GB storage (minimum)
- 1024MB RAM (minimum)
- Reasonable bandwidth

I'm wondering how much importance I should place on the CPU, as the website is relatively low traffic, but serves large files. The model itself isn't too far different from something like 'yousendit.com', but not open to the public.

Looking For A Dedicated Server With 3-4 TB Of Space For ~100 USD A Month

Jan 6, 2009

I'm looking for a server with 3-4 TB of disk space and moderate traffic requirements (1.5-2 TB a month will suffice).

CPU, RAM do not really matter.
Location: EU or US.
Price: ~100 USD a month with some setup fee or ~120 USD without.

So far I found OVH's SP Storage (http://www.ovh.co.uk/individual/products/superplan_storage.xml) which offers 4 x 1.5 TB RAID0/1 drives for a total of 3 TB disk space. However I can't register with them and their sales did not react quickly enough yet to help me.

Is there anyone else with similar offerings with whom you have personal experience?
