I have two sites that register a high amount to SMTP traffic. Both sited have only forwarding email addresses.
Do forwarding addresses accumulate SMTP traffic on the log?
Also, if a forwarding email is created without a mailbox is it necessary to add a password so that "others" cannot use the blank SMTP server to send email out?
I have mail-addresses with mailbox turned OFF and Forwarding switched ON.
The user can receive emails but can't use SMTP to send email. I expect that users without mailboxes can send messages, like in Plesk 9.5.

Many of our clients create e-mail accounts that forward incoming e-mail to mailboxes hosted on other e-mail services. e.g., Gmail.
Lately, though, a handful of these accounts have been receiving a lot of spam (i.e., UCE) and that's been causing a lot of damage to our reputation with these other e-mail services because the message that's being forwarded appears to have originated from our servers.

Disable forwarding in accounts that are configured to forward to gmail?
I am trying to find an application that can listen on a given UDP port, say "6271" and forward all traffic (UDP) sent to that port to another IP (not on the same subnet).
I should not call this forwarding, but instead, cloning (because forwarding usually is only on the same subnet or vlan). The packets should not be modified, (thus IP information in packet ect.)
Is this possible? I have tried some applications such as,

I am having trouble with setting up an email account to set up the email I go to Mail > Create Email Address > and enter email address (info@example.com) and check the "access to control panel" and create a password and also check "mailbox" .
But in the email client, when I go to use SMTP and I enter the following info:
- SMTP Server: example.com
- username: info@example.com
- password: password I created above
- port 25
- user TLS
I get this error: Your other email provider is responding too slowly. Please try again later, or contact the administrator of your other domain for further information.
I use postfix/smtp plesk12 centos7, I create mailbox add password. For example my domain is a.com from roundcube all work no problem.
My script isn't working look like this:

And the script dont send emails to user, say that Mailer Error: SMTP connect() failed. In dns settings I don't have smtpa.com host only have mail.a.com why from scripts don't send email to users?

The problem is, can not send mail via SMTP using popular scripts Opencart, SMF, Osclass. The problem was lapping Plesk 11.5 via 587 port. That was timeout connection or authorization error with the correct settings. Mail may be sent, sometimes not. No longer working than working. At the same time when working with e-mail clients(example, The Bat) work fine. In Plesk 12 same problem. Port 465 - e-mail clients(example, The Bat) work fine. But can not send mail via SMTP using popular scripts Opencart, SMF, Osclass. When using Cpanel with Exim - all work perfect. But the Plesk e-mail with Postfix - constant problems.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have just install on a new server plesk 12.0.18 Update #7 on centos 6.5 final.Added new hosting for the domain on a dedicated IP. All works fine (website, incoming mails etc) apart from outgoing mails.Both webmail (roundcube) and other mail software (outlook 2010, 2013 , android phone etc) outgoing mail i can't get to work.
I have attached screen from webmail with SMTP error (250) : Authentication failed..With Outlook it will allow me to set up account, test account setting... it say all all complete if i don't set secure connection (SSL)/requires authentication. But when you try sending mails you get the error: Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

When you set the outgoing requires authentication/ advance SSL you get:Send test e-mail message: None of the authentication methods supported by this client are supported by your server.I have tried changing to some outgoing ports to no avail.
I have Plesk 12 on CentOS 7. I have only MSMTP installed not Postfix or Qmail. No matter what settings I use in the external SMTP settings the mail is never sent and I cannot find any error logs.
I have tried gmail smtp, sendgrid smtp and another smtp server that I own.
This is not a firewall issue as far as I can tell since if I install postfix it just works. Also any Wordpress or Joomla installs that use SMTP settings with gmail or sendgrid work just fine.

Quick update. I tried the recommended CentOS 7 with the same result. Can installing Plesk 12 without a mail server and using the msmtp relay option actually works?Click to expand...
So since some time the email forwarding is not working anymore. I am currently working on the version 11.5.30.
The main problem I have, is that the hosting provider who is responsible for the server hasn't fixed this since may!
My intermediate solution would be to add a webmail account so the person the mail is being forwarded to can use it.
I had email forwarding from a site that I am running on a DirectAdmin host and its not working now.

I have re-built a website on a new domain. Now I want to redirect http://www.olddomain.com/anything or http://olddomain.anything to www.newdomain. Because the file structure is totally different, I want all redirections to go to the Home Page of newdomain.
Initially, I used Standard forwarding in the Plesk CP but that attempts to keep the filename the same. So www.olddomain.com/wibble tries to go to www.newdomain.com/wibble. But wibble dies not exist on the new domain.
Should I use htaccess with physical hosting instead on olddomain.com? Is the following correct?:

I setup an email account into my Plesk 12 to automatic forwarding all emails to an gmail address. But Gmail put all mails received into the Spam folder.
I revised the mail Header and its a SPF softfail causes because my server is not rewritting the sender envelope.

I want to add a subdomain foo.bar.com to a master domain bar.com in the subscription bar.com. Normally this works but if I set the hosting type of the master domain to forward, I cannot add subdomains anymore. If I have already added a subdomain, I cannot change the hosting type of the master domain. Also it is not possible to add a second domain to the subscription anymore.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have installed Plesk 12.0.18 on my server and want to change the hosting-type from "Forwarding" to "Web hosting". I change the type via "Websites & Domains" view (see attachments).
After I insert username and password, I get following error message:
Some fields are empty or contain an improper value. ('home' = '')
Deleting the domain and creating it from scratch is a bad option. I would have to create all e-mail accounts and migrate the data.
URL....We are running Plesk 12 on a Linux VPS where we have multiple domains running.Multiple of these domains should redirect from www. domain name. ext to https://ext.domainname.com.This is configured with the Domain forwarding in Plesk, with hosting type Forwarding.But as described in the 2 links provided above, whenever you go to https://www.domain.ext, it does not redirect, and actually shows a Security error, since the domain doesn't have the SSL-certificate installed (because it should redirect to the https://ext.domainname.com).
Clearly we don't want visitors on the website to receive the (incorrect) Security error, and we want all traffic to http(s)://www.domain.ext to be redirected to the appropriate subdomains. allows us to redirect both the https/http connections to the domains, without forcing us to have the domains have a Website hosting add redirect them manually with (for example) .htaccess.
Is there a way to see what domain is getting hit when I have a huge traffic spike? Not the daily report, but in real time? Like when it is happening?

I have a Problem with my VHosts on one of two IP addresses. One IP is dedicated and works well
The other IP is shared. Since two days every call to one of the websites of this share ip goes to the Plesk Default Website. I tried to reconfigure single sites and all sites (/usr/local/psa/admin/bin/httpdmng --reconfigure-all), nothing works and restarting apache shows some warnings.

In an other thread I found a possible solution for the overlapping vhosts. The problem there seems to be a missing ssl-certificate and that matches with the situation on my server. After copying any other certificate-file as the one with the missing filename the apache starts without any warnings, but after that all websites (the sites from the dedicated ip too) only shows the apache default site ("it works"). I Tried to reconfigure single sites and all sites (/usr/local/psa/admin/bin/httpdmng --reconfigure-all), nothing works.
The server is hosted by STRATO, so there are daily backups. I turned back one week (the problem exists since two days). Then for some hours all works fine but suddenly all the sites on the ip 85.214.41.141 get broken again and shows only plesks default page.
I need to listen to two IP addresses supporting many domains.
It the pass we achieve this on the Data Centre firewall. This option is no longer available.

Eth0 – 192.168.0.2
Eth1 – 192.168.0.12
I set up 192.168.0.2 – all is working well
I installed NGINX – all is well and the websites are running faster.
Normally I would try to listen on two IP address in Apache. This option I could not get working as Plesk creates the Apache configuration files from the information entered through the panels. This in turn over rights any manual changes to the Apache configuration files.
I understand that I could use NGINX to achieve this. Is this correct how is it achieved?
We want to send a newsletter email for all the company employees, we are using doppler because of a location and language thing (based in Argentina where an important part of the company operation is located), so when we are ready to send the newsletter it says that all recipients are bouncing, asked to droppler support and they say the problem comes from plesk, because it needs to have their ip addresses into the whitelist.
So, went to plesk, selected the domain where the bounced email addresses are (dlbgroup.com) but from there I don't know where to go, I don't want to do something wrong or delete something accidentally, so where to upload this CSV file to the right whitelist place.
We are trying to use a configure settings for an external SMTP server within Plesk (Windows 2008 R2 Plesk 12) but are receiving the following error message:
Error: Unable to encode IDN email address 'username': email address is invalid
We are trying to use a username for SMTP authentication as we do not have the option of using an email address with our current SMTP relay provider.
Is there any way around this so that we can use a username rather than an email address?
Today I try to fit all FW rules to my need. After i blocked the traffic "allow other incoming traffic" in the Plesk FW i dont get folders listed via FTP. The FTP client connect to my server, but listing content times out. After allow other traffic the content get listed. The rule "Allow FTP connections" ist in all enabled all the time.
