I need to setup 5 email accounts on my domain, each will use IMAP and store messages on server, so total space taken by each account will be 2-5 GB.
I have decided to go with eurovps.com as I'm close to them and ping is fast.
What is the best solution for IMAP and large email accounts: Linux Cpanel, Linux Plesk or Windows Plesk?
Each account will be accessed by 2 people differently by Thunderbird and occasionally by webmail, so nice webmail is a plus.

Jul 6, 2014After upgrading to Plesk 12, I switched on email sending limit to 50 emails per hour per account and also changed mail config to start using domain names in SMTP and less than 12 hours later became blacklisted by CBL - hotmail and live rely on this blacklist - ; the argument was we were sending bots and malware. This server has been under ASL since over a year now and we are positive its clean; still we did a full scan and nothing came up and none of the mail accounts were even close to sending 50 emails per hour. Being sure we were not sending spam nor malware contacted CBL and got whitelisted ..... for less than 24 hours. This happened three days in a row until we switched back to the previous mail settings where domains are not used in SMTP greeting and since then, we haven't had any trouble with CBL. how can we prevent being blacklisted while using domain names in SMTP greetings?

Aug 15, 2014I'm using a 1blu.de vServer. On my VPS is Plesk 11.5 with centOS 6 installed. I created my Webspace [URL] .... and removed the Mail Services and activated the MSMTP plugin because I'm using the webserver from the hoster 1blu.de.
I activated the Firewall with the "allow any connection" rule.
In Plesk Tools & Settings > External SMTP Server I filled in the server informations smtp.1blu.de password & username. I checked all three boxes -> SMTP needs auth, allow user scripts ...
I installed Wordpress 3.9.2 with a Theme that uses PHP Mail function. The contact form is not sending any messages out. So I tried other php mail scripts but it doesn't work.

Horde Mail IMAP :: Auth_imap: Required IMAP Extension Not Found
Sep 2, 2007I'm having trouble with horde it is giving me the following error:
Auth_imap: Required IMAP extension not found.
Now I pretty much know why that error is coming up I'm missing the IMAP module. What I don't understand is if it was their before why is it gone now. The last thing I did on the server was upgrade Perl.
I would like to get rid of this error but I'm afraid the only solutions will wipe my current setup. If of course their is a way to fix this error without ruining my current setup that would be a lot more useful
The main thing I want to do is retrieve an address book from the horde server. How would I go about finding where the address book is stored through the command line.

When I activate "Mail" I would think that I now can create a mail address with that domain (myaddress @ domainalias.com). But I can't. If I create a new one I only can choose between the "real" domains. Is this a bug or a feature?

May 27, 2015 I'm using Plesk 11.5.50 CentOS 6.5 64bit with Qmail. I have installed a SSL certificate on mail server "mail.company.tld" and is running successfully with smtp/pop3/imap4 daemon. Every user agent uses "mail.company.tld" for smtp/pop3/imap4. The qmail name is "mail.company.tld" (file me). The server has about 300 domains and 1000 accounts.
Now we want to add a new SSL certificate, called "mail.newcompany.tld", and use it only for certain domains. I would like to know if is possible to use the new SSL "mail.newcompany.tld" for a specific mail domain without using the old SSL "mail.company.tld" that isn't expired yet. From Plesk Panel I haven't found a section for using the SSL for a specific mail domain.

There is a domain named domain.com and there is an alias domain on it that named alias.com and all check boxes of it (Mail,Web,Application and ...) are selected. When we send an email from GMAIL to info@domain.com, we receive it successfully, but when we send that email to info@alias.com, it doesn't receive.

May 6, 2014I've got a situation in which I need to have a set of mail accounts that share a domain name with a domain that's already in use as a domain alias and because the domain is already in use, I'm unable to create a new account using that domain. I tried explicitly adding "www" to the domain alias so I could keep the www.domain.com address as an alias and reserve the "domain.com" name for use as a separate account, but Plesk won't allow for that.
How to address this? The idea I'm currently considering is to delete the domain alias and then create the new account and manually set the DOCUMENT ROOT of the new account to refer to the other domain's document root. I'm sure this could create some difficulty in Plesk so I'm looking for input before trying it. I'm actually not even sure exactly where I would be able to redefine the document root with Plesk allowing the change and not overwriting it later.
If all else fails, I can setup a new account on a different and unrelated Plesk server, but I'd prefer not to do that.

We only have a SSL certificate for one domain and want our customers to use this domain in their mail client settings, so that the client trusts the domain.

Mar 6, 2015I purchased an ssl certificate and installed it in plesk via server->ssl certificates. I then followed the following guide to set up imap and pop to use my cert (instead of using the default i used my cert into) URL... Now I'm getting an issue with sending emails, something about SSLHandshakeException, and some clients can't even log in. MTs support mentioned this might have something to do with POODLE.

Sending mail over SSL (port 465) will fail if SSL certificate does not match the mail.domain.tld setting. Resolution is provided by [URL] ....
IMAP folders (including INBOX) are not listed. Resolution is provided by [URL] ....
Sent items are not stored (nor online, nor offline). TechNet says that SENT and DELETED folders are no longer configurable by design. The only way to get sent items in a folder is by setting up a custom rule and using Visual Basic (!) to mark the messages as read.

Oct 15, 2014I have a client with a dedicated server running. Spec below.
The problem I am having is with incoming email. When I set up a new email account it can take about 10 attempts to log on to the incoming mail server. Once it has connected it will be ok for a short while then I will get a connection error and no emails will come through.
This is happening across all platforms, PC / MAC / iPhone and iPad.
I am a web designer with limited knowledge of the setting up of the server and was looking to set up email server within plesk.

Alternately, the account connection doesn't work ("impossible to connect to imap.xxx.com...").
I've modify imap file with this :

And after "service courier-imap restart".
But there is always the problem...

Oct 15, 2014I am running CentOS Linux 7.0.1406 (Core) with Plesk Version 12.0.18 Update #19.
Customers who use Outlook or Mozilla Thunderbird cannot send Emails through IMAP (Courier) because their mailclients say "Cannot write to sent Folder" even when there is a "Sent" Folder in the IMAP Structure existing. It is also subscribed by the Client.
Outlook Users have to go to: file - account settings > account settungs > Change > more Settings > advanced > root Folder path and enter the word inbox
Mozilla Users have to enter "INBOX." under advanced IMAP Settings in Thunderbird.
So my question is: Why is that ? And cant i Change something as admin on the Server side so all customers dont have to Panic and set an inbox Folder path in their mailclients ?
For customers it has to work without Client-side configuration...

There's lots of cookbooks out there, but they require quite a bit more time commitment (and configurability) than I want / need.
Is there any dumbified installs available? I tried with webmin, but even that wants me to manually configure a postfix / imap server bridge.=

Mar 21, 2015I know I'm probably doing something wrong, but I cannot get Android KitKat phones to authenticate via IMAP to my Plesk 12 server (straight out of the box). Not sure if it is an issue with standard dovecot config or Android, but the only way I can get them to connect is via pop3.
