I was wondering if it is possible to disable plesk redirect for clients domains on port 8443.I do not not want clients to to be able to access the plesk login screen when they visit exampleclientdomain.com:8443 but obviously i still want to be able to access my control panel e.g. myprimarydomain.com:8443. Is there something i can do to prevent the sites redirecting to my primary domain or am i better creating a htaccess rule to stop/redirect traffic on port 8443 ?
I have been using managed servers for all of my webhosting career. I just decided to try to do it all on my own and of course, here come the growing pains.
I went with Linode for my new hosting provider. I followed their guides to get the initial setup done, minus setting up MariaDB.
I then went ahead and installed Plesk 12. The install went off without a hitch. But, now that I try to hit my hostname:8443, I get a 404.
I have done the following in an attempt to resolve the issue:
- Restart the server - Restart the sw-cp-server - Remove the /etc/sw-cp-server/conf.d/agent.conf (which didn't exist)
I have a Windows VPS with Plesk panel. Windows Server 2008 R2 with plesk panel version 11.5.30.
I tried to change the default plesk panel port (8443) to eg (1234) without any success.
The steps i followed are the following: 1) Firewall -> Inbound rule -> allow for port 1234 2) Firewall, Disable inbound rule for port 8443 3) IIS, PleskControlPanel, Bindings: changed binding from 8443 to 1234.
Now i type on browser: [URL] .... and while its loading after some seconds redirects me to [URL] ...
I have a problem with my plesk v11, when i create a new subdomain and upload my asp.net application to that and make a request to view my web page it get Server Error 401 :
401 - Unauthorized: Access is denied due to invalid credentials.
You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied.
But my main web site have not any problem and works fine, my changes that didn't work :
Another question that i have is this happens because the Plesk's default permission assigning to the main domain so the users can view content without problem, but the permission isnt assign to the created subdomains ?
If this is the problem, how can i fix it so my users can see the content with our Windows Authentication or Forms authentication or anything else?
this is my domain name : www.senatex.ir and this is my sub domain : nerkh.senatex.ir
Also parallels default host files not have any problems, for example : content.senatex.ir
I'm planning on hosting some websites for customers. I am using Plesk 12. So far so good.
Now here's the problem. For some reason my host by default doesn't offer subdomains (unless I buy a more expensive package). Will this cause any problems? For example webmail.mydomain.com won't work because it uses a subdomain.
Will there be another way for customers to access their webmail?
After I post my desired subdomain as mysubdomain.domain.com on /mysubdomain.domain.com/
I get "Error: phpinimng failed: Usage: phpinimng [options] [php_ini_file] phpinimng: error: no such option: --global-config" on main window.
Tried to search how to fix this error, i managed to find that there is also " missing or incorrect /usr/local/sb/include/init.php ". As for this error this doesn't work [URL] .... It's already correct permission 755.
The subdomain appears only in DNS records on my domain. But not in the main plesk panel window.
OS is Debian 7.6 and Plesk 11.5, mysql runs over sock
Maybe I could create manual configuration over ssh in /var/www/vhost/ dir ..?
I'm currently running Pootle on www.example.com:8000 and I'd like to be able to access it from pootle.example.com but Pootle has its own python server. I use Apache. How could I do that?
I am planning to create site with sub domains like smth.domain.pl and there will be around 10 sub domains now my question is how to handle sub domain creation trough plesk or by htaccess ?
I have a problem with Nginx on myPlesk 12 with wildcard dns.I want subdomains URl to be like root domain url. Exemple. URL...You can see a live exemple here: URL.... give error 404 instead of showing root domain file (URL....). It's the same for images. What specific rule I must add in plesk panel?
I trying to setup php5.4 on a Plesk 11.0.9 server using this guide:
[URL]
It works without problems but I can't get it to work on a subdomain.
As far as I know, the only difference should be the path in the vhost.conf. I changed that to match the path to the subdomain, restarted apache but it still won't start php5.4
I created a subdomain, delete all entries except the NS and A Records. I changed the NS records. Now i have to delete the Soa Record for this subdomain. I don't know, whether this was the correct way...
installing a softarwe that used port 8088, but that port is used by plesk. What ports not used by plesk and how do I assigned one to this new software.
I've got a customer that has a website at hisdomain.com . He created a subdomain called dev.hisdomain.com for the new version of his website. Now he wants to take it live. Had he created dev.hisdomain.com as a subscription instead of a subdomain, it would have been easy to "rename" the old site to old.hisdomain.com and then rename the new site to the current name.
Am I going to have to move all the files around at the command line or is there an easier way to switch around the sites? The server in use is CentOS 6.6
Can't add new subscriptions or domains/ subdomain after upgrade. Upgraded to 12.0.18 today and can no longer add domains or subdomains. When I try create a new subscription I get the following error:
New configuration files for the Apache web server were not created due to the errors in configuration templates: Template processing failed: file = /usr/local/psa/admin/conf/templates/default/domainVhost.php, error = Template_Exception: No data. file: /usr/local/psa/admin/plib/Template/Processor.php line: 28 code: 0 Previous error: Template_Variable_Exception: No data. file: /usr/local/psa/admin/plib/Template/Variable/AbstractCachedData.php line: 67 code: 0.
Detailed error descriptions were sent to you by email. Please resolve the issues and click here to generate broken configuration files once again or here to generate all configuration files.
Trying to generate all configuration files OR generate broken configuration files doesnt work. Still get the same error.
When I try can create a subdomain I get the error:
............. Error: proftpd-config failed: mktemp: failed to create file via template `/etc/proftpd.d/50-plesk.conf.XXXXXX': No such file or directory Can not create temporary file ...........
This solution [URL] ..... doesnt work that just says 'ls: cannot access /etc/proftpd.d/: No such file or directory'
I tried yum update proftpd to see if that would do anything but get this...
Loaded plugins: fastestmirror, priorities Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile * atomic: mir01.syntis.net 193 packages excluded due to repository priority protections Setting up Update Process No Match for argument: proftpd No package proftpd available. No Packages marked for Update
In plesk, ProFTPD ftpserver is showing as installed.
Abo with "domain.com" - Hosting Type - Webspace (with E-Mail Services) Subdomain "sub.domain.com" - Hosting Type - Forward
Customer asked us to activate Forward for "domain.com "to other Domain for 2 weeks - but as soon as a Subdomain points on a Domain - I can NOT change the Hosting Type anymore ... WHY???
If I want to change Hosting Type from Hosting to Forward for some weeks - it always deletes the whole Webspace for the Domain ... ?!?
1) Why can't I change Hosting Type when a Sub-Domain is created? 2) Why can't I tell Plesk to change Hosting Type WITHOUT deleting the whole Webspace ...
Each migration in the last years I'm running into this bug that Postfix wants to run on port 587 even though this is turned OFF in the Plesk Panel.
Sometimes it does this after some update.
Because another process is running on port 587 this means that postfix does not start and I have some downtime until I "repair" this.
"Repairing" means going into Plesk panel and turning ON SMTP-Auth.... Wait a moment for it to apply and then turning it OFF again....
This unwanted behaviour can be easily reproduced by having this option turned off in the Plesk panel and then running /usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/mchk --without-spam
This will end up in a non-running postfix if another process is already running on port 587.
This shouldn't be happening. Especially because I reported this behaviour years ago..
I need changing the nginx port. I've followed various threads and have created a custom nginxDomainVirtualHost.php file at: /usr/local/psa/admin/conf/templates/custom/domain, while the website indeed moves to the port I have set, a second nginx thread starts at port 80 and takes over in it's place.
I need to put varnish at port 80 and cannot do so until all services relinquish control on port 80.
Followed clues here: [URL] ....
some here: [URL] .....
Turn's out to be able to change the nginx port to a non-standard port you need to edit 6 files
I want to add a subdomain foo.bar.com to a master domain bar.com in the subscription bar.com. Normally this works but if I set the hosting type of the master domain to forward, I cannot add subdomains anymore. If I have already added a subdomain, I cannot change the hosting type of the master domain. Also it is not possible to add a second domain to the subscription anymore.
I cannot seem to find a conclusive answer to this. I use subdomains to create client websites then once they are in their own domains the subdomains still remain. Can I delete only the subdomain and leave all the files or at least leave the database since it is still connected to the new domain. Example below.
subdomain.example.com uses database1
newsite.com still uses database1
Is there a way to copy the database into the new domain?
