Using (NFS) Network File Systems
I sharing File system using NFS between 2 mailservers running postfix on CentOS 5.2.The mail servers shares the base mail directory of virtual users e.g. /home/vmail. It appears to run fine since last couple of months,just requires feedback if anybody already tried sharing mail directories between 2 or more mail servers. Or is there any alternate solution for sharing data between servers?

Best Supported Windows Host
Why don't they put their contact address, phone numbers etc. in their website. I was almost like email/msn contact the reliablesite guys. but then hold it back. It's like you know less about them. Why the softsyshosting hostings are *** cheap. they must be loaded. What do you people think about these hosts and also ************ crystaltech Anyone hosting with above 4 hosts, or any other suggestions.. I need .NET 3.5 to 2.0, SQL 2005, PHP/MYSQL. do not limit number of databases or database space, I can keep both web+database space within the hosting space. about 1GB space and some generous bandwidth. do not need email as I took it from Google. Unlimited domain or atleast 4-5 domain hosting Unlimited subdomain. Could pay around $5-7/mo Tho I never sold a hosting but would be nice if the reselling option just on the list.. I really didn't wanted to change the current host, been with them for 4 years!!! but they are oldies, and paying about $75 a year for a mere 200 MB space.. its a win 2000 server; and separate cost for sql 2000. Guess what, I need reliable peoples, and a Great customer service. talked to IXwebhosting. boooo. Even it was a sales chat. you got to wait a long time to see what's the next text could ever pop up. I didn't like that.

Well Supported VPS Required
I moved a web site i developed from shared hosting at fasthosts due to performance issues and beacause I needed a more flexible platform. I decided to go with webfusion as i'd seen them in the press everywhere. Everything was working fine and performance was good - however the emails sent from the site (worked fine on shared hosting)- using php mail bounced. was getting ... <sal@goldplateuk.com>: 213.171.216.118 does not like recipient. Remote host said: 550 <anonymous@lvps212-241-216-214.vps.webfusion.co.uk>: Sender address rejected: Domain not found Giving up on 213.171.216.118. However - sending to a hotmail address would work. I referred to support - first line said they'd have to talk to second line support and get back to me. Eventually - they called back and basically said everything looks ok on the server - they don't know why it's happening - do some analysis of your own - go on google. Generally support isn't too hot - 2 days for a reply on a ticket. To cut a long story short - does anyone know of a VPS host who would know what was wrong and would be able to help someone who is new to the VPS scene as i need to move host fast as the customer wants this resolved asap. £25/month top budget.

CentOS & Automated File System Check
I have a centos server & whenever I reboot it, it goes into File System check and takes about 1 hr to turn online. The irony is, I reboot the server only when the load goes high (esp when traffic is high).. And the server is down for long times when traffic is high. The server config is pretty good, but it shows these problems once in 15-20 days.

Is Pageant (Agent Forwarding) For Putty Supported On Linux?
I've setup my ssh to login with keys and passphrase. I would like to do away with passphrases by using agent forwarding. Putty uses Pageant to store private keys, bu from all the tutorials I can find, it's a windows based feature (to add private keys). I've also tried to use ssh-add (a different agent), but it has trouble recognizing my private key passphrase (made with putty). I know the private key is working because I'm able to use use ssh without a password, just the phrase. What's the best way to do this? Is there a putty pageant command line that I don't know about?

CardKey Systems
We have an older CardKey system in place here and are looking to do some updates. Anyone know of distributors of Pegasus software to manage the systems? Backorder Systems
i know maybe it is wrong for this topic to be here, but i am going to focus on my question in technically . my question is " how backorder systems work? " . i dont want description of them, i know they check the domain over and over and register it as soon as be available. what i mean is what system they do to check the availability of domain better ? public whois database's are caching and not return the realtime result. so what they do ? do they contact directly to internic whois servers ? or they use "whois" linux command? anybody know what they do to get realtime domain check?

Want To Change Email Systems
I have had enough of email problems that constantly happen on a server. For about three weeks now I have been dealing with email issues that I am going out of my mind. Does anyone have a suggestion as to a email scheme that will work. Here is what I would like to do. Disable Exim COMPLETELY. Either setup a server for email only or find a email solution. Email will be pointed ONLY by way of DNS.Once I get email fixed on this box it works for a day and next thing you know it's all messed up again. Somehow etc/localdomains and etc/remotedomains either vanish or get over written plus a bunch of other things including permissions.All I know is this is getting ridiculous.I don't want any sort of email system on this box. I want all my email to go though DNS only to another server. We already have on service that we use for Exchange, so all the MX Records point to that server, but email still has to interact with this server first, which I don't want it to.

Xen And 64bit Operating Systems
I tried installing CentOS 64bit using windows image and vnc that comes with HyperVM and it says (your cpu does not support long mode. use a 32 bit distribution), and if I try to install Windows Server 2008 I get blue screen with a stop and error.

Cache Systems For Apache In Windows
I have a fair ammount of load on the server, and I want to cache as much as possible to reduce disk IO. The harddrive is a major bottleneck for performance. The server serve a lot of files larger than 10MB, so I want to cache as much of the files below 10mb as possible. First off I want to cache around 200k thumbnail files, where around 1000 new gets added every day. Secondly it would be preferred to cache dynamic files in a way that the file timestamp is checked at a regular interval, and then read again if timestamp has changed. Is there any free solutions on windows with apache for this?

They have live chat support so i talked with someone and what he did say me is: servers come with Fedora and whole LAMP environment installed, you can SSH to the server, and install VNC, you have full ADMIN rights to install anything you wish, servers are not managed (he said that they are Managed in the sense that they are monitoring PING POWER and PIPE), they can Re-image to default for free, no setup fee, month to month payment. I didn't use any dedicated server, I only used shared hosting. What I planed is to move my OpenX (former names OpenAds and phpAdsNew) installation to this server for now to see who is that working. I think that server is capable to run it, since it is currently run on shared hosting.

Links Files In Linux (file.txt For File.php)
Today I found some cstomer on the servers make a link for named it file.txt and link it to other customer php file. so that customer have the ability to show the other custoer file content when visiting the url because it is a text wile originally it is a php file. the php file was a config file, so now he know the database password , and because he is in the same server he can use that databse. the question , how to avoide this prolem in the future? notes , the SuExec is rnning and the open_basedir protection is enabled, but the problem still exists.

whats the difference with 32bit centos and 64 bit I heard 64 bit gives better Mysql Performances but if I get 64 bit will I be able to use the same stuff I use on my 32 bit currenty? Like directAdmin, APF firewall etc.., Just few from top of my head.

Centos Processing
im running centos and have a fairly high-end server. yet my services seem to be running a bit sluggish. is there a way to differntiate if its the server or the connection? using free -m -t im only using half of my ram (i dont know the command to check how much of my processors im using). im going to assume that that is also 50% or below. if any one has this command please let me know. if its not either of those im guessing its either bad routing be bounced everywhere, or some more localize like datacenter issue, bad router or something. on a side note whast the command to restart sftp?

CentOS Server
I have a server with serverbeach and I have WHm and cpanel installed but I have no clue how to install any other programs on my server. I wanted to install FFMPEG and a few other things but I do not know how to remote in or anything like that. I am on Windows XP and I have full root access to my server (its dedicated).
