Small UPS Systems
We are currently building out our new server room and are currently unsure which UPS system to purchase.
Does any one have any experience with either the APC Symmetra LX or Liebert Nfinity systems? We require ~8kva. Both units appear to be very similar in specs and both allow expandability.

Can Cron (back Ups)
I want to set up a cron job to make daily back-ups of my database, but by turning my site off first. This is how I envisage it to work: 1: rename '.htacess' (in public_html folder for the site) to .htaccess-open 2: rename '.htaccess-closed' to .htaccess // this closes the site down so no-one can write/access the db (they are basically shown a 'site down for maintenance' page - I already have the code for this) 3: mysqldump --opt (DB_NAME) -u (DB_USERNAME) -p(DB_PASSWORD) > /path/to/dbbackup-$(date +%m%d%Y).sql // this backs up the database 4: wait for 3 to finish 5: rename '.htaccess' to .htaccess-closed 6: rename '.htacess-open' to .htaccess // this opens the site back upIs this easy enough to do? Anyone got any tips/pointers?

Where Do You Store Your Back Ups
I would like some tips on how to create back ups with WHM/cPanel on a Reseller if you could. Also where to store them? I was thinking of storing them up on a VPS or Dedi server that just has backups or should I buy a enternal Hard Drive for my computer and store them on that? I have a 500GB Hard Drive.

VPS Back Ups
I've always thought, and it is like that, that the back ups are part of any quality VPS Hosting service. But see this below. It is part of the TOS, listed by quite popular vps hosting provider. "Your use of - - - servers and services is at your sole risk. - - - is not responsible for files and/or data residing on your VPS. While complimentary backups may be provided by - - -, you agree to take full responsibility for files and data transferred to/from and maintained on your VPS and agree that it is your own responsiblity to take backups of data residing on your VPS."

How To Measure UPS LOAD
Is there a site that anyone knows of that has detailed info regarding UPS aside from apc? We are looking at expanding our UPS and Gensat but until now we had our colo company handle everything. With our new Building about to be lite we are still sourcing out our UPS and Gensat. Total Built space is 2900 square feet with 4x 15 ton 4 step Lieberts. we have total power of 800amp 3phase and would like to ensure from start we have enough to handle full load. We have seen in past with colo company that over time they had to increase the size of ups during the years and this has caused downtime for clients. We want to ensure from get go that there is no power issues down the road so rather invest the money now to ensure we can manage a full load down the road.

Liebert UPS Efficiency
I was wondering if anyone with some experience running facilities, etc. is familiar with how much power a 750kVa Liebert UPS will use when it is under minimal load. I am aware that power is needed for keeping the batteries charged, keeping the power levels consistent, etc. but what is that base amount? Then, at around full load, what efficiency levels can I expect?

How To Filter Power Upstream From SAN UPS
I have A/B power from my colo provider, each fed from separate xxxKVA UPSes. I have dual-cord servers powered from these two circuits. Now I'm adding an EMC SAN, which comes with its own little APC UPS. EMC says the SAN's A-side power should come from my A-side circuit, and the SAN's B-side power should come from the included little APC UPS, which should be plugged into my B-side circuit. Unfortnately, the little UPS puts out lots of garbage line noise on the upstream side. I know this because I plugged it in at home, and it was turning my X10 light fixtures on and off when the battery would hit a charging cycle. This is not the kind of dirty power I'd like to be feeding to the servers. Does anyone have a suggestion for cleaning up the harmonic distortion that these UPSes send back upstream? Maybe a Tripp Lite IBAR12/20ULTRA? Or a Tripp Lite IS-1000 Full Isolation Transformer? Alternatively, if there is a way to tell the EMC SAN to enable write caching without the APC UPS, that might work, too.

Want To Change Email Systems
I have had enough of email problems that constantly happen on a server. For about three weeks now I have been dealing with email issues that I am going out of my mind. Does anyone have a suggestion as to a email scheme that will work. Here is what I would like to do. Disable Exim COMPLETELY. Either setup a server for email only or find a email solution. Email will be pointed ONLY by way of DNS.Once I get email fixed on this box it works for a day and next thing you know it's all messed up again. Somehow etc/localdomains and etc/remotedomains either vanish or get over written plus a bunch of other things including permissions. All I know is this is getting ridiculous.I don't want any sort of email system on this box. I want all my email to go though DNS only to another server. We already have on service that we use for Exchange, so all the MX Records point to that server, but email still has to interact with this server first, which I don't want it to.

Cache Systems For Apache In Windows

The server serve a lot of files larger than 10MB, so I want to cache as much of the files below 10mb as possible. First off I want to cache around 200k thumbnail files, where around 1000 new gets added every day. Secondly it would be preferred to cache dynamic files in a way that the file timestamp is checked at a regular interval, and then read again if timestamp has changed. Is there any free solutions on windows with apache for this?

Millennium Data Systems' Dedicated Servers
to ask about this offer (millenniumdata dot com/BUSINESS/Business-Default.asp?include=Business-Dedicated-Servers.asp) I found. They have live chat support so i talked with someone and what he did say me is: servers come with Fedora and whole LAMP environment installed, you can SSH to the server, and install VNC, you have full ADMIN rights to install anything you wish, servers are not managed (he said that they are Managed in the sense that they are monitoring PING POWER and PIPE), they can Re-image to default for free, no setup fee, month to month payment. I didn't use any dedicated server, I only used shared hosting. What I planed is to move my OpenX (former names OpenAds and phpAdsNew) installation to this server for now to see who is that working. I think that server is capable to run it, since it is currently run on shared hosting.

59Box A Small Review
I want to make a small review of 59Box , chinese hosting company that i pleased to work with for last period. I needed a dedicated server placed in China and started to search the web . I did a few conversations mostly on messenger with a few companies , but it was very strange for me that they sometimes even didn't knew to answer my very simple questions about upload/download speed limitation, trial period, they clients web sites for test connection etc. So i found it not so easy to find some professional loooking company with good and quick support in China. After of few days of searching in forums i found 2 recomendations, one is for 59Box and second is for HiChina so i contacted them both. I was amazded by very quick response from 59Box and started my conversation with them. Ken , this is the name of guy who helped me all the way , answered my questions extremely fast , and all of them was cleared . Hichina answered on the next day , also with very good and detailed mail , sample contract attached etc . But i seen no reason to try them cause Ken's proposal was good for me and I liked his support. I paid by Paypal and my server was ready in 24 hours as promised by Ken. Since then it's running with no problems. Line is very good for my needs. Latency is good and connections is stable. So i'll recommend this company to everybody who looking for server in china with great support and good prices.

EuroVPS Small Review
Just a small note from me about my experiences with EuroVPS, I transferred to them from Siteground Shared Hosting about 1 1/2 years ago, I run a fairly busy vbulletin forum, I say it's 'busy' because siteground said my site was consuming too many resources and they basically gave me 7 days to upgrade to their VPS or they said they would shut my site down, so I promptly transferred to EuroVPS. The transfer went fairly smoothly and my site was up and running in no time at all, this whole VPS thing was totally new to me so the WHM and Plesk things etc. were like toys at xmas, albeit a bit confusing, naturally I had a few tickets in the beginning asking how this and that worked, their response time was phenomenal, I don't think I have ever had to wait longer than 15 minutes for a response. I have opened a total of 20 tickets so far. Since then I have had the occasional ticket regarding problems and questions from my side and they have always been polite and have always solved my issues 100%. About 6 months ago there was a bit of an issue with regards to the transfer of my domain name that hadn't gone through from siteground to EuroVPS which caused my site to go down. A few tickets later and we managed to figure out what the problem was between us, believe it or not but EuroVPS actually phoned me at home to apologise for the confusion, in my opinion that is oustanding customer service and damn decent of them to go to all the trouble they went to and then still phone me. Fantastic guys on their support team and in the Accounts department, I have nothing but praise for them, especially Sam M, Jeff D and Eugene K, thank you guys for top notch support.

Small Business Hosting ...
It is looking like I am going to have to leave IX hosting. They have a bandwidth problem on my shared server that they cannot seem to solve. I am experiencing slow loading & slow interactive features. Ping times can exceed 500ms during peak hours EST. I have run tracerts that show them specifically that the bottleneck is between thier server and quest-comm and they still cant seem to get a handle on it. This has been going on for a month and I have given them till tuesday. So, this leaves me to prepare to move my clients' sites UGH! My parameters are somewhat unique which makes it a little tougher to pick a new host. My clients sites are all small local business sites ranging from 5 to 60 pages. I need very little storage space and I use very little bandwidth. However, I do need unlimited domains, ASP support and I really like IX's web shell feature. I will also be doing some e-commerce in the near futures. I am spending a paltry 7.95 per month with IX. I may spend as much as $20 per month for the right service. Beyond my afformentioned specific requirments, I want a host that is established, proven reliable, in the states, has their own real bricks and mortar facility and a stellar reputation with the experienced web guys. I have contacted a few that I have seen mentioned here but many dont support ASP and many require a dedicated server deal to host unlimited domains, which of course, is outside my cost requirements.

Virpus Review 7 Month Review - My "ups And Downs"
I have been with virpus for the past 7 months I have posted an review earlier as well for 2 month : 2 month review Let me summarize my experience so far, Technical Support - 10/10 Really fab. even though I was on semi-managed plan, they never made me feel I was on a semi it always felt as if I was under complete management, they did every task I had asked them to do, which I didn't get on any other semi-managed host earlier. I have no sort of complaints about their technical team, they tried to solve some problems which were due to the billing dept. The minimum response for a ticket generally around 10-15mins and the completion with in an hr. Billing Dept - This is some dept. that has kept me in wonder-land. Some times the replies were so pleasing and most other times the tickets are ignored. From, almost 2nd r 3rd month, the billing dept. tickets don't get regularly replied and used to bump the tickets in order to get a response to the query. Which I got some how, in a apologizing manner (no complaints for that :p) Now, for the past 1 month we have been having some serious problems. First, I had recd. some black-listed ip's when we joined virpus, we failed to check them (mistake on our end agreed 100%), which probably even they might not have been aware of.. As, we had a minor mis-understanding with godaddy during domain registration, my friend registered the domain using one of our partner address who resides in Singapore, where as the registration was done from India. Godaddy, assumed this was a spam registration and refunded the amount. So, we had to register the domain through another partner who resided in India. Godaddy was cool after we gave them the complete details, where they wanted some ID proof, and we provided them. Our ip was on the black-list, we thought since our domain was spam-listed for a day, (until godaddy took it off) it made the hosts to assume the domain was black-listed, so we had manually submitted forms and proofs to most of the anti-spam agencies and mail providers, where they took the ban off the ip with in 15-20 days after we joined virpus. Our domain was no longer under black-list, but ip was still under black-listed in some sites, such as rediff, it took more than 2 months to set the things straight at rediff, where we did some config added from the tech.dept. such as setting up spf record, and did a few tweaks here and there. Even after making all these efforts, our ip was still under black-list of some ISP's. Our main domain (the domain which was under bl list earlier) loads well for every user, but our child domains where we have blogs and other activities do not load for lots of users. The ping results in the internet gives 100% but on their particular systems it gives no ping. Some times, the site loads wierdly such as,[url] might load but [url]might not load, and vice-versa, some times local ping fails but site loads, its all wierd and we found the reason to the problem to be ip after some minor confirmation from our end. We were losing our revenue of more than 60% just because of the failure of loading on the site, the tech. dept used to ask the ips which are facing prob to check if they are blocked, but its not possible to give ips of users who visit as guests and others, we have noted reports on other sites that our site wasn't loading for them. We still were able to give few ips for check and found them not-blocked on the ip. The sites are able to be viewed for all from proxy sites such as stage6.info but we can't ask each viewer to go to proxy site to view if they are unable to load, it will become ridiculous and we might lose our entire traffic some day. We had shifted our domains temporarily to other vps where we noted none of the users had a single complaint, we were there for more than a week, which ensured the problem was not the domains but the ips, again after returning to the virpus hosts, we had created 3 tickets to sales/billing dept. to issue fresh ip's, got 0 reply and mailed to mr.Ken using : kenneth.odem@virpusnetworks.net got no reply after 48hrs. We have to agreee, Earlier,mr.Ken was so helpful he helped us when we didn't have any funds to issue, since we had an dispute with an item where our payment was delayed by paypal. So, we had paid them almost 10 days later than the due date where mr.Ken was so helpful and saw to it our VPS could stay online despite the payments not been released. In thanks, we had directly mailed our check we got from an ad-agency, which again made around 5-10 days in the payment, which made our balance stand in the positive note, we have our balance in the account for the past 3 months so that there are no dues left. But, in the past 1 -2 months the replies have been disappointing. We planned to leave virpus and join other host, where we burnt our hands, we looked for other reputed VPS and had a few in mind after our staff suggested few good organizations(don't prefer to name them here as it would be mis-leading). Since, virpus wasn't ready to refund the amount in the credits we decided to continue with virpus atleast as a sideby host. Later, some how our members suggested we used virpus as a main host, so we wanted fresh ip's to get rid of the damn problem we are having but we have recd. no response for the past 1 week. Now, lately after the maintenance our VPS was down for approx. 26-27hrs on april 25th Saturday, where our traffic is usually on the weekends. We lost the compelete traffic and revenue. When we asked if it come under credits, we got response as : This was the result of scheduled maintenance we cannot, it would not qualify under our SLA. (just giving the main result statment off the entire reply recd. from sales). Its some thing we would like to regret but for sure this isn't some issue, which could make us think to get to a new host. The reply from the sales dept. has made our staff making funny betting, as one would win if we get a reply and other would if its not replied with in 48hrs, lately the first one is winning () due to lack of communication. This might be our last month. Our next due date major amount would be taken from the credits, so a very little amount would exist in the account. We will stay with them until our amount with them is spent. We had enjoyed really good with the tech. dept but the sales dept has been really poor in the recent past. I am forced to say this as even after mailing we haven't got response where, mr.Ken stated if our tickets were lost or some thing, mail to him but either didn't work so far. Once, earlier when we requested for change of ips we were said some $7 or some thing would be charged for the swap, when we made other enquiries about it we didn't get a response till date My tickets which lay un-responded: 203497 509467 385781 509467 and 385781 are double-post of the ticket, but got reply for none of the above tickets. Was expecting a reply for 1 atleast. I was ready to pay excess charge for the new ips as there some mistake from my end in failure to check the ips before getting them but I wanted some concession as the major mistake was from their end while dispatching ips. I am not refusing to pay but I wanted the concession, got no reply and the above tickets are a proof of them. Our staff online time and their live chat time don't tally, so we can't make any contact to them on live as well. I am not sure if this is mis-understanding or what, but it has been a mixed experience for me. For sure, their sales crew have to be increased that's some suggestion I would strongly do. I can recommend this host to any one for the tech. support they provide but can't guarantee them for the sales dept. replies based on my past/recent experiences. Totally my site down for around ~30hrs including all the maintanence and other reasons, it could be a bit less but I am rounding it off, for sure its more than 28hrs My over all rating: 7.5/10 Tech. Dept - 10/10 Sales/Billing Dept - 5/10 my site submitted for review via report feature I tried to give all my experience on virpus and I am not against any one for joining virpus nor have any fights with virpus team. May be if we get response from sales we might still consider continuing with virpus but that stands low at the moment.

Small Datacenters Not Replying To Emails

Granted, these aren't huge datacenters like The Planet and Gigenet that I'm contacting here, but come on... I'm not going to name names, but seriously, if you smaller datacenters want any business you might want to start replying to sales e-mails. This is just getting annoying. Why would anyone waste their time with you if you can't even answer an e-mail or phone call or PM? All of my e-mails went out to datacenters that have posted in the offers section of WHT in the past 30 days.

Small Business Server Will Not Boot
I have set up Windows Small Business Server 2003 and was testing it over the past week. Everything has been going well and yesterday it requested to install an update (not to sure what it was now) and soon after the update was installed a restart was required. After the server shutdown and tried to restart the system will not restart. The machine powers up and then I am faced with a blank black screen (no load bar nothing). The monitor led light flashes from green to orange then to a static green light after the Dell splash screen. I can load up into safe mode although I do not know how to work out what is wrong. I am guessing the update has caused the issue, possibly a boot sector needs repairing. There are no new additions to control panel -> install/remove programs which i believe is where all updates can be uninstalled from.

Small Business E-commerce Hosting
I've been poking around here for a few evenings trying to find someone else who's asked just the same question I need to ask, but I'm not really seeing it. My situation is this. I am writing a website in ASP.Net 2.0 for a small business. I do web development for a living, so the database admin, asp/vb.net coding is not an issue. However, I've never dealt with the hosting side of things. I need the following: 1) ability to host two different domains using some shared DLLs that provide funtionality used by both sites. I've read that some hosting companies won't let you put DLLs on their servers, so I'm not sure if I can do this. 2) Ability to send and recieve e-mails at "mydomain.com". I think this is a no-brainer. 3) Ability to use SQL Server express. 4) We will be taking orders with credit card numbers, so I need to be able to do HTTPS and I need to know my data will be secure. 5) obviously, I need a server that has the .Net 2.0 framework on it.

Small Business Web Hosting
I just joined this forum because I want to let as many people as possible know about a horrible experience that I had with my last small business web hosting company: LogicWeb. Then I would love to hear other people's horror stories about companies they hate and praises about companies they like. Let me just say that I had originally signed up with another company that was bought by LogicWeb. I had their VPS package and the biggest problem was the customer service which used to be good under the other company. Run into a little problem, send them an email and have to wait three days for a response. A response that generally said something like "we don't cover that." So, anyhow, I found another small business web hosting company and then tried to cancel with LogicWeb. Sent them email after email and I was still getting billed. Finally, I found their cancellation form buried on their site and submitted a cancellation with a note stating that I had sent several emails trying to cancel. A couple of weeks later, I get another bill in my email box so I decide to call them up. I'm on the phone with a guy and tell him that I have been trying to cancel for three months and the first thing he says is, "I don't think you're being honest." "What?" I say not believing that that could be the first thing he says to me. "I think you're lying." "Well, I'm not lying and I resent this conversation so far." "Well, you are lying. It's only been two months since you stopped using our system." "So, because I'm off by one month, you call me a liar?" "Yes, because liars lie!" I couldn't believe it! I couldn't believe that any small business web hosting service would call their client a liar even if they were lying. So, I made a mistake and got pissed and cursed! "I can't believe you're calling me a ****ing liar! I've never ever been called a liar before. Let me speak to your supervisor!" "Well, I'm the owner and I'm recording this conversation and if you're going to use foul language with me then I'll just report you to my collections department!" I say, "Let me get this straight. You say that I'm lying and call me a liar, something no business person should ever do to a client, and just because I say '****ing' because I'm insulted, you're pissed at me? Well, if you are going to hang up on me then let me just finish with this... you are a ****ing *******!" I don't know how much worse a business owner can act with a customer and I highly recommend avoiding LogicWeb since they are the worst small business web hosting around.

Cheap Budget, Small Site
One of my contacts is looking for a domain/hosting server that's cheap (under $15/month total), and reliable (the usual 99.9% uptime). My contact has used Yahoo (paid) before, but wasn't really satisfied by it. I doubt that the total disc space will go over 1 gig, and PHP/MySQL is preferred, just in case.

A Small Orange Review After 2 Years
How did A Small Orange get the name? Years ago Tim Dorr, owner/operator, used it as his AYM screen name. There's a great interview with him from 2005 here. Even have a look around if you want. "A Small Orange" is an Atlanta based web hosting company with a great attitude. It began as my backup host for my web based voiceover site and now it is my main host. I first read about them on this forum where they came highly recommended. When I first joined they would only accept 25 new accounts a night to ensure the best customer experience. It took me two nights to get mine and I'm still there. Don't worry, they haven't done that in years and you can sign up any time. The first thing I check when selecting a new host are their forums. A Small Orange (ASO) has a very active one that has "support" members who post, and even Tim himself. "Pre-sales Questions" is a popular area. Not that this takes the place of a superb tech support who won't quit until the problem is solved. I've found them to be very patient with folks who may not be the most tech savvy. That would be me. There is a thorough Knowledge base online as well as an ASO Wiki written by staff and customers. Plus, step by step demonstrations of CPanel functions. The only issue I've ever had happened a couple of weeks ago. I had a problem with a disappearing sub domain. It was a CPanel code problem. Tech support was nothing short of amazing. Their plans are very reasonable. All have the same features. Even their "Tiny plan" with 75 MB of space and 3GB Bandwidth at $25 a year has all the features of their most expensive "Super plan" with 4500MB of space and 100GB Bandwidth. Turn any account (except Tiny) into a Reseller account for $5 more a month. You can easily upgrade or downgrade as needed. Plus there's ASO Extreme which is just for file sharing. No scripts, e-mail or Cpanel. But, you get 1500MB of space and 100GB Bandwidth for $20 a month. As far as up time, I don't think my site has ever been down for longer than a few minutes. The time I caught it they were doing some server maintenance. I'm always on my site since one of my web pages is my browser start page. I've hosted two sites with them, one for me and one for a local band. They were on different servers and both had the same great performance and reliability. ASO's business concept is to not overload shared servers. Period. I can go online any time and check my hosts status from a web site and CPanel. If there's any problem it's corrected quickly. ASO offers CPanel and the latest updates and features. I like to check my stats often and use a lot of subdomains. Latest Visitors and AWStats helps me keep tabs of things. It has everything you'd expect from CPanel. Believe me, I'm no expert. But, I do recognize a friendly attitude and willingness to help when I see it. The most important thing is that my web site up and online. If it didn't work well and consistently, I wouldn't be there. If that ever changes you can bet I'll be the first to leave. So far I am very impressed with A Small Orange.

VPS Right For A Small Webdev Company
I'm starting a small company which will do custom web development and hosting. Right now we have appr 10 clients with no heavy traffic. I've been thinking about buying a VPS for the hosting of these sites, in order to have more control over the server, instead of using a shared hosting, but i'm wondering if VPS is overkill. Hopefully we'll get more customers and need more space and bandwidth as time goes by...

A Small Review Of Various VPS Providers I Have Tried
Here is my mini review of the various hosting providers I have tried in the past 3 months. 1. vpsfarm.com A. Setup: Instant. The server was setup in about 3 mins after I paid. B. Stability: Excellent. I tried various operating systems from their control panel. Not a single issue. The server was very stable. The control panel was also very stable. C. Support: I am a self made server admin and as such, I do not need much support. The few support tickets I sent were answered to the point and promptly by Selvaraj and his crew. They really know their technical stuff to keep the whole setup running smoothly. Excellent. D. Speed: The server speed was fast and the site loaded fast. No problems. Rating: Excellent. 2. jpstream.net A. Setup: The account [a shared hosting acct] was setup in 18 hrs after I paid. B. Stability: Excellent. The control panel [plesk] is very stable and the server ran smoothly. myipneighbors.com showed 110 other sites on the same server but my site loaded fast. Mysql performance was also good. That probably indicates that the server was not overloaded. C. Support: Fair. Support tickets took a while to be answered. The time varied from anything between an hour to a max of 8 hrs. The responses were mostly to the point but in a few cases indicated that they replied without reading my ticket fully. d. D. Speed: The server speed was fast and the site loaded fast. No problems. However, the greatest annoyance: Their email setup does NOT allow mails from free email services to be received. All mails from gmail, hotmail, yahoo and rediff are blocked. Support did NOT want to fix that. Rating: Bad. Many people have free email addresses and blocking emails from such people is nonsense. Also, I cancelled with them but till now I have not recd a refund. Bad. 3. Zone.net A. Setup: The server was setup in about 2 hours after I paid. B. Stability: Excellent. Not a single issue. The server is very stable. The control panel is also very stable. C. Support: I am a self made server admin and as such, I do not need much support. The few support tickets I sent were answered to the point and promptly. These people are also very good technically to keep their servers running very smoothly. Excellent. D. Speed: The server speed was fast and the site loaded fast. No problems. Rating: Excellent. 4. xeneurope.co.uk A. Setup: The server was setup in about 15 mins after I paid. Infact Adam did a cutom plan for me. B. Stability: The HyperVM is unstable. Diskspace and memory display on the control panel are totally incorrect and misleading. The Ubuntu template crashed the server after a day, while the opensuse and debian templates have a big problem - after you install, you cannot ssh into the system. C. Support: I am a self made server admin and as such, I do not need much support. The few support tickets I sent were answered to the point and promptly. Adam and Chris did fix the debian template temporarily for me. However the problem with HyperVM being misleading and unstable is a big turn off for me. Here is my latest email from HyperVM: ---------------------------------------------- Warning: The Account michael is using 100% of quota for realmem_usage. Limit: 640 Used: 640 Warning: The Account michael is using 100% of quota for swap_usage. Limit: 512 Used: 512 ----------------------------------- Here is my latest email to Adam: ----------------------------------------- Hi Support, The HyperVM info is thoroughly misleading: S Resource Used Max Graph Disk 1.01 GB 29.3 GB Mem NA 640 MB Backup 0 Unlimited Traffic 312.53 MB 341.8 GB Ip 1 1 Traffic 0 MB - The actual disk space usage is: Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on /dev/sda1 29G 561M 27G 3% / none 321M 0 321M 0% /dev/shm [root@host ~]# The actual memory usage is: total used free shared buffers cached Mem: 640 38 601 0 4 14 -/+ buffers/cache: 19 620 Swap: 512 0 512 I am sorry to say, I do not like this one bit. Please move me to a different HyperVM system which functions stable and without any problem with the statistics as well as without conking out on various OS templates. I have used Xen before and never had a problem until now. Please let me know when you can give me a stable Xen system without problems. Thanks, Michael. ------------------------------------------- I am awaiting a reply from Adam. D. Speed: The server speed is fast. No problems, when the server works but the ubuntu crash along with all these problems is not good. Rating: I am not rating this yet. I do hope Adam will put me on a different server where everything functions fast, stable and without any problems. ---------------------------------------------------------- Here is my question to all the experts at WHT: Is it true that if I have my server in the US, the govt and the FBI can put a backdoor into the server and see through info when they feel like it? This is what I heard from a friend of mine. I am NOT trolling but when I heard this, I was quite upset. This is what made me seek a server outside the US. Please let me know if this is true or this is bull, so that I can keep myself informed that this is just crap. Vpsfarm and zone.net, please keep up your excellent service. I may come back and get other servers from you. JP stream please fix the email problem and you will be no 1 in Japan. Adam, your xen setup needs to be more stable. Please fix this. The domain in question is technichristian [dot] net. The web server is not yet installed. I am waiting for Adam to fix the problems first. ----------------------------------------------------------
