how to set the restrictions of maximum recipients a singe email can be sent to. I found one customer sending an email to 1233 recipients at a time which is a large number enough to increase the queue on the server. I am running Cpanel/WHM. Is there some tweak to be done in Exim?
One of my clients has two members of staff each with their own email addresses and mailboxes, working in separate locations. What they would like is to share incoming email enquiries to both of their addresses, so each sees the others mail. I'm thinking in cPanel I can set this up with forwarding so for example email to fred@widgets.com is forwarded to tom@widgets.com and vice versa, but will this set up a feedback loop? Or will cPanel know not to forward mail again that's already been forwarded?
My second question is that they also need some method of knowing if the other person has already dealt with an enquiry, so they don't end up both responding to the same email. They don't mind doing this manually by dragging messages into a separate "dealt with" folder when answered or suchlike, as long as they both can see what the other has dealt with. Does anyone know how to achieve this? They both use Outlook as their clients.
I have a problem where all email sent from uaccb.edu (studentmail.uaccb.edu [208.190.226.130]} is not arriving at my VPS. The people sending email from the above domain are not getting any errors, it is not being marked as spam, it is just being blackholed somehow.
I have checked the above IP and domain, and can't find it on any blacklist, and I am using pretty standard cPanel setup on my VPS. I have spam set to be marked and receive a fair amount and have it autorouted to a folder rather than auto-deleted.
From uaccb.edu, the only thing I have access to is Outlook Web Access to send test emails, and they are sent fine with no errors returned. If I send test emails to gmail and other similar email accounts, they go through fine, the only problem is to ANY domain hosted on my VPS. I have even recently transferred all the domains to a second VPS (with the same hosting company) at a different datacenter (for different reason) and the problem persists.
Is there any WHM setting or any ideas on how to troubleshoot this?
Outlook 2013 complains about the SSL certificate when using email. Installing the certificate still doesn't stop the error/warning. What are my options?
Can I install on the plesk server a self-signed SSL cert and avoid the issues? Can I buy & install a single certificate for that one domain and resolve the issue but not affect others. Do I need to buy a SAN certificate for the whole server?
I'm having some trouble finding a hosting company that will let me send out bulk mail to my single opt-in (and CAN-SPAM compliant) list of 500,000+ subscribers.
Could anyone here recommend a hosting company that would be able to handle that? I put in a request through WHT's quote request form, but haven't gotten any replies to my query.
I know that there must be a host out there who is willing to let me do it, I just need to find it...
BTW, the list is scrubbed, and I will make every attempt to keep the IP's 100% clean, as I have a vested interest in making sure that my deliverability is high, so it's not like I'm going to "spam and run"...
I have a dedicated server where I am running Postfix just to relay mail to a smtp server. Whenever I send test emails using Postfix the TO addresses shows as:
"undisclosed-recipients"
I see when I review my maillog where the outgoing email address is not recognized.
Jun 11 21:09:57 big1 postfix/smtpd[8098]: >>> CHECKING RECIPIENT MAPS <<< Jun 11 21:09:57 big1 postfix/smtpd[8098]: ctable_locate: leave existing entry key xxxxx@gmail.com Jun 11 21:09:57 big1 postfix/smtpd[8098]: maps_find: recipient_canonical_maps: xxxxx@gmail.com: not found
How can you get Postfix to just pass along the email address and not check to see if it knows it or not? The email still goes to the right place but it does not look very professional..
Everything on our Qmail installation is working fantastic except for one thing (most of the qmail patches are installed from [url]:
If a user sends an email to several recipients, often times, all users of the list will receive several copies (10 times or more) of the email.
So far I think the situation is that a user sends a weekly update (sort of mini mailing list to 20 users or so) by just adding them as BCC in their outlook. Then I think one of the 20 emails bounces or throws back a deferral, and then qmail resends the email many many more times not only to the bounced recipient (but also to the entire list of recipients in the BCC)
I have windows server 2008 r2 and plesk 12. I can receive mails but can not send mail. I am receiving mail like this :

What are the maximum number of entries that can go in hosts.deny? Will the server bog down the more entries that are in there? How many is a safe, reasonable number?
I know there's a option in the WHM that says "The maximum each domain can send out per hour (0 is unlimited" and it affects all the accounts under the same server, but, Is there any possibility to configure the WHM/cPanel to give different values to each client?
I use APF and APF is working with iptables , when I define a large number of IPs in deny_hosts.rules or allow_hosts.rules and restart the APF , iptables begins to display errors after applying some number of rules , I have set SET_TRIM="0" in APF , so the number of APF rules is unlimited and the error is from iptables.
Is there any setting in iptables config files for maximum number of rules?
Is it unlimited and depends only on system available memory? O/S , ...?
I would like to know what is the maximum number of Apache connections a Server can handle? Does this depends on the Config of the Server? Is it Possible for a server to handle more than 2500 Active Apache connections without timeout / connection failure / slowness?
