Joomla Website Get Hacked
Aug 7, 2007One of my clients has joomla site installed on his hosting.
But recently his website always get hacked. Hacker put one index.html file in the public_html folder. luckily they not deleting file and database..
This is happen twice in one week, even he change the cpanel password to a more complex one...
anyway to prevent this? any way to harden the security?

Say for example I was running Joomla and WHMCS on the same account. If ever a vulnerability in Joomla was found which allowed hackers to view, edit, or download files on the account, this could mean whmcs getting hacked into. End result would be all account information being stolen or worse all the account being deleted or hacked.

Sep 26, 2007My website is hosted locally on my network, so I'm unable to view the .com address for it (i can only access through the local IP address). This makes it really hard to test throughly.
Is there any way to view this website from how it would be outside the network? I know i can do it from another location but I need a solution that is right here. I do not have a off site computer i can remote desktop to either.
Website Redundancy (Hosted In Multiple Datacentres?)
Aug 24, 2008Not sure where this belonged so put it in web hosting as it could cover dedicated, colo or shared.
In a couple of months I am going to be launching a new e-commerce website for the company I work for, so it is absolutely vital that the website never goes offline, otherwise I will be in deep ****.
It will be hosted on a server that has been built to be very redundant; 2x Hotswappable Redundant PSU, 4x Hotswappable HDDs (RAID 6), Redundant NIC.
Sods law though to achieve this redundancy it will need to be on a colocated server, so if there is a major problem like the motherboard dying, then I will have to get down to the DC (3 hours away) and replace the entire server. Which wouldn't be practical as we would need a replacement server, all setup and ready to go, to do that.
Also, if there is a problem with the data centre itself, then we would be stuck until it is resolved. I have hosted sites with data centres in the past that experienced power or network problems which sent the sites down and it was totally out of our control to either prevent the downtime or restore the sites.
So to increase redundancy, and minimise downtime, I was thinking of load balancing between two servers. But then I assume they would both have to be hosted in the same data centre.
I was also thinking of having the site hosted on the server, but having some shared hosting (or a cheap dedi) ready to go just to fall back on if the server goes down. That way I can forward requests to the shared hosting as a temporary measure whilst the main server is restored. But the problem with that is I would probably need to get another SSL certificate. I would need to get the payment gateway provider (protx) to change the settings for the IP of the shared hosting, which knowing them will take 72 hours to process.
Budget really isn't an issue here if it can be justified, just looking for some ideas at this stage. There is no way this site can be down for a second longer than it needs to be.

But after compilation I have added expiry,deflate headers but I am not able to see either ETAG and LAst-modified header...

Plesk 11.x / Windows :: Can't Install Joomla Properly
Apr 21, 2014I registered my domain yesterday and the company where I registered (Webstekker) forwarded me to this website where they obviously have there websites. I wanted to start immediately with my website. I can install Wordpress properly, so will it show easy fast made html text files.
Joomla is the one I want and need to use. I tried to install it via the application tab in either httpdocs and httpdocs/joomla. I tried custom install via the application tab, but didn't work.
Then I tried to copy the files myself via FTP to the server and tried to install it again. Made MySQL databases, but I get stucked on the last installation page where it did ask me if I wanted to install some examples. Whatever I choose it won't go further. Nvm, when I go back to the domain itself, it says I have to delete the installation map (as it should ask when install is actually finished). When I delete the installation map, my domain has no content, nothing. I can however, login via the domain/administrator
So there is something installed, the back end is working, but a website also needs some frontpage right?

Jun 21, 2014I tried to install Joomla on my server from applications ( Not manualy ) . I go at applications on plesk's panel then i click on Joomla and the click to install it. After that , it shows that it's downloadiing ( Downloading Joomla... ) and it isn't doing anything else. It remained stuck at 0% like forever. I waited more than 2 hours once, and it didn't do anything. It was just stuck at zero. Other applications are working.

Feb 18, 2013I have a problem. I am running Plesk 11 with Windows 8. I installed wordpress and joomla. If I want to make one update from joomla 3.0 to 3.0.3 I get the error Internal Server error 500.
In Wordpress I get a error, too: By the update from 3.5 to 3.5.1 i get the error: The directory is write protect or not available.
In WordPress I instert in the wp-config.php following.

Now, does the updates to WordPress and plugins work.
My question is, I am running not only one website with WP. How can I make the settings for all WP instances running on the server? And How can I fix it with the Joomla update?

Plesk 11.x / Windows :: Panel 11.09 Preview Formatting Missing With Joomla Site
Sep 4, 2013I've transferred at Joomla! site to my server with Plesk 11.09. I want to see if its all working allright before i change DNS to point to the new server.
I put in [URL] .... as preview link, but that only shows the Plesk default UI. When i add 'index.php' to the end I do get the site, but without formatting

Feb 19, 2014I've encountered a curious problem. Fresh install of Plesk 11 on a Windows 2008 R2 Server. If I want to configure FTP-Accounts under "Domain&Mail" the option is missing entirely. The Server is running an FTP Server and I can connect via FTP to some parts with some users I have created in Plesk. I've scrounged the internet for information about what might be going on here but came up empty.
There is no option to configure FTP Accounts or anything FTP in Plesk. There is empty space where the link should be.

Oct 9, 2013We have set up a site for a customer anyone goes to view the sites an a default authentication pop up appears, and the only way to view the website is to type in the customers Cpanel Login details.
I've checked the IUSR, IWPD permissions and they are correct. and check the authentication modules and level in IIS and they seems to be correct.
Is there away to set a customers permissions to the default settings?
Plesk 12.x / Windows :: PHP Settings Not Applied For Selected Website Page?
Apr 6, 2015i have a problem with my plesk 12 Installation on a Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard machine.
When I select a Website and want to change the php settings for that page it wont apply the new settings.
I placed a phpinfo() file in the Folder of that Website to test that. The weird thing is when i change the memory_limt value it is visible on the phpinfo() but when i change post_max_size or upload_max_filesize nothing changes.
