Email Domain Set Up
I am running a blog with Blogger/Google and use my own domain. If I want to set up an email account using that domain, I need to move it to a host right? But that also means my blog cannot have that domain again? Is this correct?

How To Bounce A Set Of Email Addresses
I have a catchall for a domain that has been used for years, e.g. vendor1@mydomain.com, vendor2@mydomain.com. Unfortunately, thanks to the fact that maiming spammers is still against the law, I have to live with the fact that the world can no longer have catchall accounts with any usability. One particular jackass is using my domain to spoof numerous idiotic emails. He uses some combo of bulltek*****@mydomain.com. While I am transitioning all of my emails to either 1 account or forward individually each vendor account, how can I bounce emails using that set above? I'm also looking for something better than spam assassin to prevent email and which will provide more options and a better interface. Sending Email To Another Server When The Email Address Domain Is On This Server
I currently have a domain on Server 1 (Linux, Apache, Ubuntu, Matrix control panel). This server does not have any spam filter, so I have moved all the email accounts to Server 2 (Linux, Apache, Fedora Core, Plesk) which does have a brilliant spam filter; and have changed the DNS record for mail.domain.com to the IP address for Server 2. Emails are being successfully received on Server 2. On Server 1, when an email is sent through SMTP to an address at that domain, it does not send it to Server 2, it gets delivered to the hosting account for the domain on Server 1. So what I am guessing is happening is that Server 1 detects the domain has an account on the server, and instead of looking up the DNS info for that domain, just assumes it is on Server 1. What I need to do, is force Server 1 to send email for that domain to Server 2. Is this possible, and if so, how can it be achieved? If more info about the server is required for a solution please let me know and I'll provide what I can.

Email With Your Own Domain Name
I have created five different websites for different customers and I have never offered them the option of having their email with their own domain name (coustomer@yourdomainname.com) just because I don’t see an easy way for them to login to check their emails, something like www.yourdomain.com/username or something that can be easy to remember. So I was wandering how you guy are doing it, what interface is the best Horde, SquirrelMail or Round Cube? How are you guys checking your emails? Is there a lot of spam? I used Cpanel for all of these sites but I honestly have never use the email part.

I am having a slight email issue after moving my DNS to DNS Made Easy. On my wordpress blog I have it set to email me comments which the blog does just fine but ever since the DNS change I am having a weird issue. I use gmail for my email which threads emails. Now everytime I get a comment on the blog wordpress sends a new email and gmail doesn't thread them like it used to. Do i need to add something to my DNS for mail. I never added anything and the server is obvisoulsy sending mail. Yep I am a noob and a little lost. CPanel Parked Domain Email
I have a domain hosted which is the primary domain with all its file hosted, it also has its own email accounts setup. I now have another domain, i want to make the new domain the primary domain for the account which is hosting my website and the previous domain to be parked on top of it - this is with the use of cPanel. Now from what ive experienced i should be able to use and setup email accounts from within cPanel from both domains. This is my question. The previous domain already has email accounts setup, if i make the switch and make it a parked domain onto the new primary domain will i still be able to retain the same email accounts/passwords/email? e.g. if i have email@[url]after the switch i want email@[url]to be under the new primary account[url]

H-sphere Host / Email Not Going To Own Domain
One of my domain is hosted with a company who has h-sphere. Last one year everything was smooth and I was very satisfied with them. 3 days ago I found some of the emails stopped sending to the recipients. When the visitors create an invoice they will get the invoice by email and I will get a copy too, but now I noticed that these emails are not going to all the mails for example, when a customer create an invoice it should go to customer@yahoo.com and me@mydomain.com. What I found is it is not coming to me@mydomain.com and if the customer has a gmail address then it is not going too. but if customers email address is customer@xyz.com then he is receiving it.

Multiple MX Records For Same Domain Email
Right, I have my email address (say email@domain.co.uk) connected to my DirectAdmin controlled server. I have an the simple email services provided by 1and1 that I haven't used for ages. I am a bit confused how multiple MX records can be used, so far I have edited my DNS record file for domain.com to look like this: Code: domain.co.uk.14400INMX5mx00.1and1.co.uk. domain.co.uk.14400INMX10mx01.1and1.co.uk. domain.co.uk.14400INMX0domain.co.uk. If im not mistaken the above show the email server domain.co.uk is connected to (domain.co.uk) is the primary server, with 1and1 2nd and 3rd. However if I changed the priorities all to the same value, i.e "0" would that mean the mail is delivered to all? My ideal solution would be, if the primary server was down, send mail to secondary, but that leads me to another problem. When I want to check mail with Thunderbird its connected to imap.domain.co.uk and not imap.1and1.co.uk, so the problem now is mail split over two servers....! I would like a redundant system, to ensure email is online 99.999% of the time. So my question is, what are peoples current solutions with multiple MX records, and how have they achieved 99.999% uptime of emails.

2 Email Addresses On The Same Domain But Using Different Mail Servers
I'm trying to see if it's possible to have 2 email addresses on the same domain (e.g. email1@domain.com and email2@domain.com) but are handled by 2 different email servers (e.g. mail.domain1.com and mail.domain2.com)? To put it into context, I have a domain hosted on my dedicated server and a couple of email accounts set up on it. I also have another mail account set up on a different server but with the same domain. I was wondering if maybe something could be done with the DNS to allow the 'external' mail account to be handled by the other server?

suppose my domain is mydomain.com, my sendmail may send email to any domain name except local domain, say, sendmail may send email to hotmail, yahoo or any other domain name, but when send email to emailbox under mydomain.com, sendmail log will say domain not found. Stop Spammers From Spoofing My Email Domain
Is there any way to stop spammers from spoofing my address? I've had issues ever since I started this server with getting bounced spam where the "From:" field was (jibberish)@mydomain.com which was annoying but not that constant. I came online this morning to check my mail and had over 1200 e-mails and all of them have "online@wellsfargo.com" as the "From:" address, but the message-ID has my domain name in it.. Unrouteable Mail Domain Everytime I Send Out Email
My mail server suddenly went into chaos. Everytime I send out an email it retruns me back an email automatically telling me example: "unrouteable mail domain "gmail.com". Only Domain Reg, Email Forward And Url Redirect Wanted
I need a company to register my domain, and then forward emails and urls to my actual site that is somewhere else. I don't need any actual web hosting or email pop (at the moment). My main requirement is reliability. The company I currently use bounces some email to me and forwards other email to a black hole. They're also not replying to my mail, so it's time to leave. BTW, this is a company that has generally excellent reviews.

One of my hosted domains have an email problem, every email account that is hosted on that site, is able to send and recieve email, but when sending to gmail or hotmail, it is delivered as SPAM. Someone told me it is because this domain doesnt have a MX record at the DNS zone.. What is the sintax for the MX record ? Email From A Single Domain (university) Not Being Received At VPS/Cpanel
I have a problem where all email sent from uaccb.edu (studentmail.uaccb.edu [208.190.226.130]} is not arriving at my VPS. The people sending email from the above domain are not getting any errors, it is not being marked as spam, it is just being blackholed somehow. I have checked the above IP and domain, and can't find it on any blacklist, and I am using pretty standard cPanel setup on my VPS. I have spam set to be marked and receive a fair amount and have it autorouted to a folder rather than auto-deleted. From uaccb.edu, the only thing I have access to is Outlook Web Access to send test emails, and they are sent fine with no errors returned. If I send test emails to gmail and other similar email accounts, they go through fine, the only problem is to ANY domain hosted on my VPS. I have even recently transferred all the domains to a second VPS (with the same hosting company) at a different datacenter (for different reason) and the problem persists. Is there any WHM setting or any ideas on how to troubleshoot this?

Email Being Picked Up As Spam From Hosted Domains. Main Domain Is Ok
i have a vps and although i can send mails without problem from my main root account, sending via any of the child accounts created for customers results in their email being picked up as spam (in hotmail at least). To clarify, mydomain.com is my main name. Email can send without problem, customersdomain.com, hosted on the same machine, when sending emails they are picked up as spam. The mx dns entries in the zone file are set (by default to) customersdomain.com. and for all the child domains customer1domain.com. etc. Do i need to ask the datacenter to add a reverse dns entry for mail.mydomain.com? Is this an issue with the mx records for the hosted domains? Should i change the hosted domaims mx entry on the customers domains to mail.mydomain.com? I know the ip isnt blacklisted because exactly the same email goes through when sending from the mydomain.com email addresses.

Cpanel Domain Name Server (DNS) Setting For Email On 2 Seperate Server
This is the scenario, domain.com are setup on server1, however server2 also has the same profile of domain.com as we use ns3 and ns4 using domain.com. This works fine with the nameserver setup on server2. However I encounter problems as the emails from server2 won't reach server1 as there are duplicate profile on server2. My question is how do I setup the DNS in cpanel/whm from server2 so the emails from server2 will reach server1? Sending Email 'to Domain Works But Not Sending 'from
I migrated a client from a Windows server to Linux and everything is fine except that mail sent to this client (say, example1.com) from a particular domain (say, example2.com) simply disappears and does not reach at all. Mail sent to that other domain (example2.com) from my new client (example1.com) is delivered correctly. Incidentally, that other domain (example2.com) from which the mail is sent is with the hosting provider who was earlier providing services for my newly acquired client. Should I suspect anything? Or, is there a way to figure out what's happening? I have MailScanner running on my VPS, but it isn't configured to filter at RBL level, only at Exim level, so I don't think this is the issue.

Free Email - Lot Of Space And Email Boxes Involved
One of my customers asked me if is possible technically to offer free email services. Since he's going to launch a big portal he want to offer such things later, for all users. Now, there are problems as: a) if there is any possibility to compress emails similar with GMAIL or YahooMail or so, because i can't imagine the email is uncompressed b) how can be handled email boxes over multiple (mail ?) servers if the HDD space needed would be larger than for one server HDD ?

Email Issue: Local Users Can Not Email Each Other
I am having an email issue and I can not resolve. I am hoping for some assisstance here. One of my local clients are not able to email each other in their office. (About 10 employess I believe) They are using Outlook mail client, and using ISP's SMTP server. They are able to send/recieve email to other users externally, but not intenally. Using webmail works perfectly fine. I spoke with my host and the said everything is working fine. I checked with the ISP to see if they are blocking the IP address on the SMTP server. They said they were not. I have a personal account on the same server and tried to send email to another local email account, and it did not work either. Tried to send email to my clients email and they did not recieve anything. I am on the same ISP as my client, so Im still not sure if its the ISP or not.

Reverse Domain Name Server (DNS) ARPA For Domain On VPS
I have a vps with dedicated ip's for my domain names. I read that in order for mails coming from my server not be picked up as spam, i need to add reverse ip entries. Now i have already added the glue nameserver records on my godaddy control panel, ns1.mydomain.com -> 10.20.30.40 ns2.mydomain.com -> 10.20.30.41 But do i need to speak to the datacenter to add the reverse dns entries for my domain on their nameservers? What about if i host my nameservers offsite, but then have my webserver/mailserver etc inside the datacenter? Would i need to request the datacenter where the nameservers are hosted to add the reverse ip entries for the domain, and then the request the same from the datacenter for my web/mail servers to add the reverse entries? Is it really required?

Best Way To Set Up My Nameservers
I am experimenting with setting up my first unmanaged dedicated server. I have directadmin as a cp. I have 5 separate IP's available to me. I went to my domain registrar and set up host as ns1.mydomain.com and ns2.mydomain.com using my first two IP's that are available. My question now is what is the best way to use my three remaining IP's? Do I set them up as completely different domain nameservers ie. ns1.otherdomain.com etc.? Out of those three, I thought you need two IP's per nameserver domain? Is that wrong thinking? I don't want any relationship shown in a whois dns info between the ips.

How Much For A Set Of Clients
I will soon be meeting a few people who plan on selling their clients to me that are currently hosting with them. I have never bought/sold clients before and would like some guidance from the community here on WHT. Correct me if im wrong. I should consider purchasing those clients who's contracts are going to expire soon, preferably within the next 6 months atleast? Should i or should i not purchase clients who they have recently taken a renewal fee from that will last for atleast another 6 months? How will calculate on what prices they should be selling their clients to me for? Are they going to add up a years worth of hosting before they set a final sale price? At the end of the day i dont want to take on clients who have already paid for their hosting and wont be expiring anytime soon. I think, if i take them on board now they will be using up my hosting resources at my expense which i will have to wait until their next renewal is due. The guys i will be buying the clients from have their current hosting plans as follows: Monthly prices range from £1.90 £5.00 £9.50 £15.50, Yearly prices range from £19.00 £50.00 £95.00 £155.00 Depending on what packages their clients are on now, how much do you think on average 5 clients would be worth roughly? Before i purchase what else do i need to look into? What other questions do i need to ask other than the likelihood of how long they expect their clients to stay with them/(me).

Domain Parking - Wildcard Domain Name Server (DNS)?
We have a lot of unused domains that we'd like to setup domain parking for. To keep it simple, we'd like to just change the namesevers to ns1.domainparking.com and ns2.domainparking.com (not real nameservers!) and the domains would then automatically show a simple web page. We use cpanel servers and are wondering how easy this is to do? I've seem mention of wildcard dns? Is that the answer?

Domain Parking With Win2k3 Domain Name Server (DNS)?
i have about 8 different domains i'd like to point to a nameserver (ns1./ns2.mydomain.com) on Win2k3 server, but i can't get them resolved through my nameserver without creating a manual forward lookup entry for each *parked* domain separatly.. Does anyone know how to resolve "parked" domains automatically on Win2k3 DNS?? I just can't find any answer for this, everything i've found required manual creation of lookup entries.. anyone?
