Could not open file for writing: Permission denied
I checked file permissions twice - everything seems to be normal.

May 7, 2009In my dedicated server I have MS SQL 2005 Server whose backup is scheduled at night 2:00 am through Management Console. Now, once the backup is over I wish compress it and give the current date as the name to the compressed file.
I had tried to do it using PK Zip server but was not successful in doing so. Can any body help me in accomplishing this.

Jan 18, 2008My site is going down lot of times due to high cpu quota and when i check cpu exceeded logs i could see some ip addresses trying to open non existenet permalinks i.e. my site is smartdesis.com and they try to open smartdesis.com/xxx which gives a 404 error which is causinf high cpu usage. Repetedly they are trying to open differnt urls by appending /xxx to them, i banned nearly 100 ips but they seem to be growing.

Feb 6, 2009I switched from Resellerzoom to wiredtree with a vps. I also have accounts with liquidweb and softlayer. All are reliable and uptimenot an issue but as far as getting help Wiredtree is just far above.
I have been there now only a few months but so far so good. If your not a real tech person wiredtree is your best bet. ANd the email response time wow!! I tried to call them once but by time I picked up the phone and waiting on hold for about 2 minutes my email was already responded to.
I am sure there are thousands of good host out there but I know on this boards when i looked no one would tell me whichto go with , they all said it depends on this and that. What I am saying is if your looking for a good VPS and your not a technical person go with Wiredtree save yourself the headache I had with others that are great host but just not ready to deal with us stupid people who dont know how to "harden" a server .

text.txt will have many lines and some of them I do not want users to be able to modify and overwrite.
config_item_1=user can edit
config_item_2=user should see but not edit (could be on any line)
config_item_3=user can edit
config_item_4=user can edit
The user has made their changes in the web browser and clicks submit. I then need this info to be saved as the text.txt file however some checking needs to be done first. Anything matching config_item_2 should be removed. This could be on any line. Anything not matching should be permitted and added.

Oct 24, 2014I want to save the access logs of our websites on an external server. If I do this now with the default setup, the gets overwritten every day. The desired file name format whould be: websitedomain-tld-access-2014-10-24.log
How can I tell Plesk to do this and how can I make sure the statistics keep working?
On our other servers we use rotatelogs for this.

Nov 5, 2009I am running a website with a huge traffic on a single server with 2GB Ram and its working fine from last 3 years but from last 1 week the website is being unstable, not all the time but sometimes,
Following are the conditions when the problem occures:-
- When we enter the URL in browser and hit enter, it takes bit long on connecting...before reaching to the website, once the title appear at the top of the browser the page loads normally and while browsing the website, sometimes it gives page cannot be displayed error and we have to refresh the page.
- at that time when I check the result from [url]it gives bit high Average Response Time.
- On the other everything seems to be normal on SSH,
load average: 0.90, 0.96, 0.79
Mem: 3116360k total, 2841948k used, 274412k free,

This is the normal traffic, not the attack and site was working fine from 3yrs but I guess some recently made changes is causing this issue.
ERR Unable To Log On To Mailbox
Jul 21, 2009I am using Plesk 8.6 with Mail Enable standard edition.
Since past two weeks the things were working fine. Yesterday I had activated the antispam option given in the admin panel of plesk. And since today morning nobody is able to login into their mailboxes. Outlook gives error message as:
"Task 'mail.absoluteinternational.net - Receiving' reported error (0x800CCC92) : 'Your e-mail server rejected your login. Verify your user name and password in your account properties. Under Tools, click E-mail accounts. The server responded: -ERR Unable to log on. Only one connection to a mailbox permitted at a time.' "
And webmail gives error message as "Login Failed".
Also if I do test account settings in MS Outlook, all the tasks would come as completed except Log on to incoming mail server (POP3). If I check the POP logs I get the error message as:
"07/21/09 01:17:28POPS368122.169.82.167PASSPASS *-ERR Unable to log on. Only one connection to a mailbox permitted at a time.018"
Unable To Use Cpanel

cPanel operation has been temporarily suspended to prevent something bad from happening.
Please ask your system admin to remove any files not in use on that partition.
I get this message upon logging onto cpanel. It's the first time seeing this. How do I disable cpanel from doing this?

May 12, 2007I have nameservers setup on my server. As I have changed my servers, I need to resolve the sites. I changed the nameservers Ips to resolve to new one:
67.159.33.250 and 67.159.33.251
But my sites and my clients sites are going down.

Oct 9, 2007i'm trying to configure PHP, as I really need to turn magic quotes off and raise the memory limit. i don't want to use .htaccess - too many sites
I got plesk 8.2.1, php5.1
well, to make it short, I ran 'phpinfo()' to see where php.ini was: etc/php.ini
I change that, restart httpd, nothing happens. restart the server, nothing still. my changes are not applied when I run 'phpinfo()' again.
i try 'locate php.ini' from the terminal, there are a few!

/usr/local/psa/admin/conf/php.ini.def
/usr/local/sitebuilder/php.ini
/etc/php.ini
/etc/php.ini.
/etc/php.ini.saved_by_psa

the problem is that I tried to open all of them, to see where the hell php was getting the settings from, but none of them seem to reflect php's settings.
meaning, I don't know what file I can use to configure PHP.
all of them, for instance, say 'memory_limit: 32M', but php is set at 8M, and phpinfo() tells me memory_limit 8M.
any idea why this might be happening?
does Plesk have some tool to configure PHP that makes PHP ignore my changes?
