My server was having a high load so I stop httpd and mysqld. I tried to restart both service but only httpd is starting and mysqld failed. It keeps timing out.
service mysqld start Timeout error occurred trying to start MySQL Daemon. Starting MySQL: [FAILED]
It was working and I only trying to restart it.
The load on my server now is 0 because the website is down.
I have been using Apache 2.2.23 VC9 ssl 0.98 on my windows 7 32 bit PC. I decided to remove the 2.2.23 release and install 2.4.3 VC9 version yesterday. After installation, I was able to run Apache by running httpd.exe from command line. I can also install Apache service using "httpd -k install" with no problem. However, when I tried to start Apache service using "httpd -k start", it didn't work for me. Starting Apache from apachemonitor also failed. I checked error.log and found the following output:
Starting the Apache2.4 service [Mon Feb 18 19:00:33.498207 2013] [mpm_winnt:crit] [pid 7564:tid 376] (OS 1053)The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion. : AH00378: Apache2.4: Failed to start the service process.
A newby to web hosting, I get a lot of "script not found or unable to stat:" errors. Should I be concerned? The web site seems to be working fine. The entire error message looks like this: script not found or unable to stat: /home/coin99/public_html/cgi-bin/cq/undefined, referer: URL...
The public_html/cgi-bin/cq/ directory contains the main Perl script for my site. It is called 'coins' (no extension). There is no file or directory called 'undefined.' The referer is a page on my site.
Installed Apache Server 2.4.3 (no PHP, etc.) and it was working beautifully for a week or so. Yesterday, I restarted my laptop (nothing changed... no updates that install automatically, etc.) and now Apache won't start. Here are some things I've found out on my quest on figuring out what's wrong:
1. Apache Error Log: [Sat Jan 05 14:18:36.745977 2013] [mpm_winnt:notice] [pid 4116:tid 372] AH00455: Apache/2.4.3 (Win64) configured -- resuming normal operations [Sat Jan 05 14:18:36.745977 2013] [mpm_winnt:notice] [pid 4116:tid 372] AH00456: Server built: Aug 18 2012 14:13:48 [Sat Jan 05 14:18:36.745977 2013] [core:notice] [pid 4116:tid 372] AH00094: Command line: 'C:Apache24inhttpd.exe -d C:/Apache24' [Sat Jan 05 14:18:36.747979 2013] [mpm_winnt:notice] [pid 4116:tid 372] AH00418: Parent: Created child process 3436 [Sat Jan 05 14:18:37.335418 2013] [mpm_winnt:crit] [pid 4116:tid 372] AH00419: master_main: create child process failed. Exiting.
2. Nothing else is using port 80 (or 443, for that matter).
3. Apache will start and stay running if I run httpd.exe from the DOS prompt or double-click it from within Windows just fine.
4. Will not run when launched from within the Services or Apache Service Monitor app.
5. Windows Event Error displays the following error: Faulting application name: httpd.exe, version: 2.4.3.0, time stamp: 0x502f863e Faulting module name: MSVCR100.dll, version: 10.0.40219.325, time stamp: 0x4df2bcac Exception code: 0xc0000417 Fault offset: 0x0000000000070468 Faulting process id: 0x13d8 Faulting application start time: 0x01cdeb8eefaec475 Faulting application path: C:Apache24inhttpd.exe Faulting module path: C:WindowsSYSTEM32MSVCR100.dll Report Id: 2deab70b-5782-11e2-be94-00247e17b5d9 Faulting package full name: Faulting package-relative application ID:
6. I've tried fixing/reinstalling the C+ redistribution files about 3 times now, to no avail (thinking the error in the event file was caused by a bad/corrupt MSVCR100.DLL).
7. The exception code in the event error is: 0xc0000417 = STATUS_INVALID_CRUNTIME_PARAMETER = An invalid parameter was passed to a C runtime function. (But again, reloading the files didn't solve anything).
8. I have tried removing Apache completely, reloading with default settings, etc. and still having the same issue.
9. Out of desperation, I even tried a registry cleaner (CCClean) and CHKDSK on the drive. Both of those didn't fix anything.
This is it... not sure what else to do/try. Again, everything was fine one moment, and it all stopped working after rebooting my system. I've wasted hours into this issue, and have come up empty handed. I'm beyond frustrated at the moment.
EDIT: The download I used for the server is located here: [URL]...
I noticed that my spamassassin wasn't running on my server. so I restarted the service from the plesk panel but got the following message:
Error: Unable to make action: Unable to manage service by spammng: spamassassin: unrecognized service ERROR:spammng:Unable to start SpamAssassin service ('--start', 'spamassassin')
So I SSH'ed into my machine and saw that spamassassin wasn't running.
The I reinstalled spamassassin from the "add and remove product components", but that didn't change anything. Still the same error.

Recently left a big corporate job and started my own consulting firm in the area of human resources/employee benefits. Right now, my technology consists of a laptop with online backup through Carbonite. I am ILLITERATE when it comes to technology, so bear with me please....
BackgroundThe business plan calls for growth by adding a small number of employees, starting with an assistant, along with working with independent contractors. These will each need to have access to the files that now reside on my hard drive. I don't anticipate more than 6 people (employees and/or contractors, combined) in the first year.
In addition to the shared access described above, I would need to be sure that the environment where files are stored is highly secure, and that I can grant access to files to some people and not others.
In addition to the above, I need to ensure that all the data are backed up routinely.
Employees/contractors will likely not be in the same office location where I am located, and some (most) may work from a home office.
My assistant, when hired, may/may not be in my office. Regardless, (s)he will need to have access to (and make changes to) my contacts and calendar in outlook. In addition, (s)he will need to be able to read and send emails on my behalf.
AT&T, as part of my advertising with them in the Yellow Pages, is developing (and will host) my website. Included in their service will be email boxes (up to 20) with my domain name.
Business Need Based on these points, I figured I needed to buy a server, so I've been talking with Dell. Of course, they'll sell me a server and they have a relationship with All Covered who will install it and make sure its operational.
But after talking wtih Dell, I learned that there was something called managed hosting, colocated hosting, dedicated hosting, and shared hosting. I called Rackspace, they said they would be overkill for what I needed and referred me to Mosso. Mosso said the same thing, and sent me to this site.
i install APF and config conf file but i have a problem for start APF :
root@server [~]# /usr/local/sbin/apf -r eth0 : error fetching interface information Device not found eth0 : error fetching interface information Device not found eth0 : error fetching interface information Device not found eth0 : error fetching interface information Device not found eth0 : error fetching interface information Device not found Development mode enabled !; firewall will fluch every 5 minutes. Unable to load iptable module (ip_tables), abroting
While i have loads a experience running servers remotely, I know to start my own ISP is a bit more costly and involves things like rack servers, temperature controled rooms and BANDWIDTH.
I have handle on 1st two, ( and yes htings like insurance and a store are looked after )
What i need are a list of T3 providers that I can contact about purchasing a dedicated T3 line for our store. While the location isn't yet set in stone and i may in fact look at a existing computer store owner who may be open to the idea already.
The company will host local websites, and others websites.
AND allow for reselling on a lessor level and include at least 6 others who host game servers.
With these 6 the T3 line will probably be almost half used, so the ISP must be scalable for growth.
The thing i need in nut shell are pricing on a T3 line of my own in or close to downtown Oshawa Ontario, Canada

I spent all my afternoon on this but I couldn't managed to solve this problem out. Hope someone knows the solution for this one.
I've chrooted Apache and now it won't start. I try to run it with chroot /chroot/httpd httpd and it doesn't start but instead enters a single error in a error log. Something about permission being denied and apr_proc_detach constant. The best part is that I managed to run it flawlessly on an another server, but on this one it won't start. If I start it with -X parameter then it runs fine. Has anyone came across this error before? What libraries I should put in chroot environment to avoid the apr_proc_detach permission denied error?
On another computer it runs without problems, so I believe it's problem me not including all the necessary libraries in the environment (I included everything on the ldd /usr/sbin/httpd list).

I've supposedly set APF firewall to start at boot time, by doing something like:
chkconfig --levels 2345 apf on
However i have my reservations to weather it is actually starting, its set to block port 80, after boot if i try and access it, the connection will get refused straight away, however if i go and manually start APF then try and access again, it will take a while, like its ignoring the connection attempt (which is good).
The MS DNS server in one of my Windows 2003 server does not start. When I try to start the server, I get the error Not enough storage available to complete this operation. I have enough of space and memory available in the server and all the other services are working fine. What could be the issue and what is the solution for this?
My configuration is correct because I have been using the same one on multiple servers.
I have run into this on another server actually, where the init script says it starts, but it in fact has not started. Stopping it results in a fail, and its nowhere to be found in the process list, but the PID file exists. I turned it to verbose and had it output to a log file, and the only thing I see is NET-SNMP version 5.1.2.
