any one know where Plesk stores all the backups on a vps
I want to download all these using automated FTP
I have all my client hosting accounts set up to do backups daily but only keep two backups.
There is a problem as PPA is not deleting old backups and simply creates more and more backups until the backup server eventually runs out of space.
I'm running a backup of a subscription and I checked "Create a multivolume backup" and set the "volume size" to 1024. Once the backup is complete the backup still shows as 1 volume, not broken up into 1 GB pieces.
I'm running Plesk 12.0.18 Update #27 (latest)
Since upgrading to v12* I have had issues backing up to my FTP repo, the errors are limited but how to come over it?I have searched and checked all common issues, space on drive, space on destination etc.
Errors I receive are:
[root@web01 backup-2014-09-22-08-32-24-354]# tail -f backup.log

No matter what I try this fails, I have a v11* still backing up without issues to the same FTP.
We get a lot of warning for one and the same domain during backups:
Code:
Warning: hosting "domain.com"
Encoding::encode: source UTF-8 encoding declared, but invalid UTF-8 sequence occured. Falling back to ISO-8859-1
How may we solve it?
All my Backups to a remote FTP fails with Error Code: 1
View 4 Replies View RelatedI do wanted to know if there is any option to program plesk, so that it does separately backups of all sites instead of doing a globally backup of all things in one file.
I do not mind that people an synchronize their account with one of their ftp servers to do backups but what I do want is me also to do backups of all sites separately.
One of my clients needs a dedicated server. I already know SoftLayer is really good from personal experience, but he needs both a Managed box and a Backup Solution, neither of which SoftLayer offers. I know they offer a 1Gig lockbox, but it's your responsibility to make sure files are transferred daily.
Basically what he needs is the following
- Server 2003
- As fully managed as possible because I am not on hand 24/7
- A control panel to handle everything. Plesk and Helm work. I'd say Plesk since they now seem to own HELM
- A backup solution at the very least once a week, once a day is better
- 24/7 Technical support with a phone number to call (not just ticket) in case of emergency.
Please let me know any suggests of hosts you use that were good. I have used many hosts in my life but only really liked SoftLayer (lacking the 2 features said) and AxisHost (no live number) so really need some feed back on this.
My backup ftp server was down, how do I move all backups from server repository to personal ftp repository?
View 5 Replies View RelatedSince upgrading to 12 (Linux) all backups to remote storage now cause timeout in curl. Is it possible to change the timeout anywhere?
To be more precise, when testing FTP settings receive this error:

I use plesk Parallels Plesk Panel v9.5.4_build95110630.14 os_CentOS 5

But how can i change other disk?
I want change the default directory for backups in /dev/sdb1 disk.
my fdisk -l output this:
Code:
[root@server /]# fdisk -l
Disk /dev/sda: 500.1 GB, 500107862016 bytes

I expored my databse fom my old hoster and want to import it to my new Windows Server 2012 r2 vps Server but I can't find that option:
I found this link: URL....
my dashboard looks like this, it is missing the Backup Manager: Image: "dashboard.png"
I'm migrating sites from Plesk 9 to Plesk 12 using the migration manager. Since the migration manager doesn't migrate backups, are the backups compatible between Plesk 9 and Plesk 12? If so, is there an easy way to copy the backups in the correct directory structure since we are forced to use clients in plesk 12 and it changes the directory structure of the backups folders.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWe use Plesk 12 with ubuntu 12.04.5 LTS ......
Plesk 12 does not create backups for Customers.
If we restarts the server, Plesk created again for 2 days backups and then again not. There are no errors present.
The backup should be loaded on a FTP backup server after the Create
This makes Plesk but only if you restarts the server. Otherwise, no backups are created or loaded on the FTP backup server.....
I've been running a Plesk server with around 100 domains for years and years now. I've always used a backup service provided by the server vendor, but with a new server, I wanted to consider some of the backup options built into Plesk.
1. It looks like Plesk/Acronis is dead or only for Windows. Is that right?
2. If I add a backup drive to the server, can I setup Plesk Backup Manager to store the backups there (instead of on the main RAID array)?
3. Are there any other 3rd party extensions that I should consider?
how to make backups separately of all domains and clients, without going into their panel and configuring one by one?

I've an issue when i tried to create a backup repository by the client control panel, The backup already created but it's not affected on the client disk space !!
It's put in Crogram Files/Paralles/Plesk/Backup/reseller/resellername/clients/domain.com
Now, I have critical disk space usage because the one client has schedule daily backups and it's not affected on his account usage!!
1- I've check for permissions and repair plesk database.
2- I've make repair quota.
3- Updated plesk
PLesk v: 11.0.9

I'm trying to setting plesk backups to own ftp server.. My ftp server is listening by the port 31..
My conf:
Server: mydomain:31
Directory: vpsbkp
User and password...
Passive mode checked
Here the error display: "Transport error: unable to list directory: Curl error: Couldn't connect to server"
Where are the bkp ftp logs?
I set up a FTP backup repository today however when attempting to restore selected objects from the backup there are a couple of messages that state:
"Restore the backup file despite a corrupted signature"
"You can select objects to restore only when you are restoring from backups that were created in Plesk 12.0 or later."
I noticed that the backup residing in the FTP repository has a .tar extension whilst the one I did in the server repository has a .xml extension.
Restoring selected objects from the server repository works fine.
Why is this not possible? I'd like to restore selected objects from the FTP repository. Otherwise I'll have to transfer the backup file from FTP repository to the server which is really inefficient.
Have some very important questions regarding changing plesk ports and creating full backups.
1. When changing plesks port number, what exactly will it effect? Will it effect auto updates, etc.?
2. When creating a backup, I'd like to backup the entire server to rollback at anytime when changes are made to core files, is this possible?
3. With backups, somehow I'd like to schedule backups to possibly make nightly copies to an external hard drive on my computer for a fail safe method just in case the server happens to crash and I'd need to restore to another server/service. How would this be possible?
If I try to download a plesk backup to my local machine it saves a file a few bytes in size in .xml.tar.html format
My other non plesk 12 machines correctly save the file in .tar format ....
We had many backups stored on our Plesk 12 server about 51 GB in total.
After reducing the backups back to 10 GB by removing old backups through the Backup Manager.
The issue is that Health Monitor still reported that there was low diskspace displayed by color yellow. And it look Health Monitor over 16 minutes to change the alarm level from Yellow to Green
However the statistics at the specific subscription still present the Backup usage of 51 GB's whilest they are no longer there.
What can i do about this in order to speed up the synchronization?
In WHM I set my backups to go to the / directory in a flder called backup. This filled up rather quick and that partiton is now full!
I was going to change the location to /home as i have over 400GB of space here but it says: Setting this to /home is a very bad idea.)
How many would you guys recommend me? Currently I make backups on my own server and one at offsite. And what's the diffrence making backups trough ssh ot ftp? Because right now I work with ftp because I don't understand ssh.

I've got a VPS with SLHost and have setup a remote backup account with RVPalace
The VPS is running WHM/Cpanel
I'm running a fairly busy forum and host a few friends sites on the server to. (CMS systems etc)
What's the best way to go about backing up the data to this remote host?
Would you say WHM's backup system is sufficient?
I don't feel comfortable with one backup every 24 hours, so i'm wondering if there's anyway to reduce that to every 6 hours?
Or would you guys recommend RSync instead?
I do have a question regarding RSync...something that worries me
If it's set to backup the sites every 6 hours and only backs up when something changes (Files/databases)
If, god forbid, a site gets hacked, but isn't noticed and Rsync kicks in and backs up the hacked site, there'd be no way to go back to a previous backup, would there?
what I want to do is a backup every night of the files on my servers from the Data Centre to a server in our local office. What would be the best program to do this?
The OS would be Windows Server 2003.
Can anyone recommend a provider/reseller either in the UK or US?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a dedicated server that only has around 3-4gb of data on it. I would like to do automated nightly backups for as cheap as possible. I don't want to pay to have my server managed just to be able to have automated backups, so what other solutions do I have? I know I can get really cheap storage from Amazon or Mosso, but is there a way to automate this?
