Plesk Automation :: Dedicated IP Added To Container Inaccessible
Apr 21, 2015
I tried to set up a site with a "dedicated" IP without SSL, and ran into this problem again. The new IPs (v4 or v6) are not reachable, pingable, or trace routable from outside the container, even from its PCS hardware node. This is what I get after adding the address in PPA:
By contrast, if I add an IP address through PVA, it is pingable. Note the differences, namely that PVA's ifcfg-eth0:0 has "BOOTPROTO=static" and the IPs double quoted. For those testing at home also note that PVA removed the existing IPv6 addresses (that it didn't know about).
I've added a new Apache/MySQL node to our PPA cluster and we'd like to be able to host a single subscription on that node for the Apache webhosting and MySQL databases for that subscription while allowing that subscription to utilized the rest of the shared resources in the cluster, such as mail, DNS, etc. I'm looking for the best way to go about doing that.
I guess one simple way would be to set the new server to 'ready to provide' and set the rest to not ready, add the "linux shared hosting" hosting subscription to the customer account, then switch the new server to not ready and the rest back to ready. That works fine I suppose in a small cluster, but there has to be a better way. Is there a way to craft a service template that restricts subscribers to a particular node for Apache + MySQL and leaves them to rest of the "regular" nodes in the cluster for other services?
I have 11.5.30 and no new FTP accounts work. All I get when trying to connect is 530 User cannot log in, home directory inaccessible. I have run the command:
removed and added the user again repairing in between. I have manually tried creating the user folder under default/6/localuser/username and setting permissions. I have checked the local windows account and the home directory is fine.
All old accounts create previously work fine. I could at least connect on the master FTP site with the local user folder but then it was read only.
I just added a new PHP Handler with PHP Verison 5.5.18 as cgi and i always get an error when activating. I used the samte setting and php ini as the Buildin Ones
Starting point: a working site using a shared IPv4, dedicated IPv6, and SSL. HTTP and HTTPS work, the latter only using SNI of course.
The good news: If I simply allocate an IP resource of 1 to a subscription it is pulled from the pool, assigned to the service node, assigned to the web site, DNS is updated, and the site is automatically changed to using a Dedicated IPv4 and Dedicated IPv6.
The bad news: visitors land on the default web site of the service node, with the default SSL certificate.
Other info: I can't ping the new IP, even though it shows in "ip a l" and /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0:0. [edited]
After the IP assignment, it is still installed, and /etc/httpd/conf/plesk.conf.d/ip_default/domainname.conf shows the new certificate is being used.
However, a second set of VirtualHost entries is created in server.conf for this IP for ports 80 and 443, with NameVirtualHost enabled on the new IP. The port 443 entry uses the default certificate. Apache's setup this default VirtualHost entry will override the web site configuration because Apache is listening on port 443 with the wrong cert.
If I go to "Change webspace settings" and toggle to Shared IPv4, Dedicated IPv6 the site works again via HTTPS, and Dedicated IPv4 and Dedicated IPv6 breaks it again. Setting the SSL cert to None and back again does not work.
Setting the SSL cert to None, changing to a dedicated IP, and enabling SSL results in the server being inexplicably inaccessible...browsers no longer connect to either the default site or the correct site, and I don't see any entries in the vhosts's logs.

On a clean install of CentOS 6.6 (Final) I did the following:
1. updated the /etc/hosts file to point my ip to the hostname
2. Open the ports in the iptables file.
3. ran the ppa_installer per the instructions on [URL] ....
The ppa_installer log says installed Successfully. However the following occurs:
1. Cannot browse to the url:8443, or any of the other variations (8080, 8880, https/http)
2. Yum installer is now broken (I replicated this twice). Yum will not run at all with the following error:
There was a problem importing one of the Python modules required to run yum. The error leading to this problem was: /usr/lib64/libcurl.so.4: file too short
Please install a package which provides this module, or verify that the module is installed correctly. It's possible that the above module doesn't match the
current version of Python, which is: 2.6.6 (r266:84292, Jan 22 2014, 09:42:36) [GCC 4.4.7 20120313 (Red Hat 4.4.7-4)]
I am now going to try Cent OS 6.4.. will report back.
I recently realized that domainkeys headers are not added to mail messages that are generated on our server. We are using MailEnable Enterprise 8.60 (upgraded on the Stardart edition, that is installed with Plesk).
I thought the problem could be related with this upgrade and created a new VM and tried that out. Installed Windows Server 2012 R2 Std, enabled DNS and IIS with ASP.NET versions, applied all updates, installed Plesk 12 and Upgraded to MailEnabled Enterprise. On the new server mails are going with the correct domainkeys headers.
Now I think that the problem was generated because of the Migration. On the old server Plesk 11.5 was installed and we didn't have any domainkeys issues. When we created our new server, with the same steps I wrote below, and migrated our backup to the new server, domainkeys headers weren't there anymore.
I couldn't find any documentation about this issue. Is there any commands to reset the settings related to domainkeys or may be it's a curruption in the psd database?
While Installing Applications on VPS Container On virtuozzo I`am running Into a error given below.
Operation install with the Env(s) "web209" is finished with errors: Can not install packages: exec failed: Error: python-devel conflicts with python < 2.4.3-27.el5 Error: Missing Dependency: gnutls = 1.4.1-3.el5_2.1 is needed by package gnutls-devel Error: Missing Dependency: nspr = 4.7.4-1.el5_3.1 is needed by package nspr-devel Error: /usr/share/vzyum/bin/yum failed, exitcode=1 .
i have tried everything to how i can limit each container to use bandwidth monthly , i only found a way to limit the outgoing speed/traffic , but i can't limit the traffic usage per month .
i have asked softlayer about that
Hello, You could limit traffic on a VPS container using 3rd party-softwares. But you need to look into these software solutions or contact your server administration company.
Anyway, what 3rd party software do you advice in installing,
What i want to do is like i limit container No.107 to not use over 200Gb container No.108 To not use over 300Gb , etc...
every now and again Webmin seems to become inaccessible eg. when I go to [url]it just sits there and eventually times out with a "The connection has timed out" error.
But if I use lynx from the server to access [url]it works fine, does any one have any ideas what could be causing this, if I restart the server it then starts working fine again.
The control panel for SolarVPS seems to be down and their homepage also appears to be partially broken. A representative on live-help just told me that there's no ETA at all for a fix and that all customers might have to provide information to identify themselves as they might have lost customer data irretrievably.
I'm somewhat shocked, been a customer for a year now and never had any issues, but this is pretty bad if true.
My client was rather forcibly moved to a VPS by their host (long story, involving inadequate PHP memory allocations).
I've run sites on MediaTemple's VPS's without any issues. This one, via Network Solutions (not my pick) is driving me nuts. It uses Plesk and Virtuozzo, and is, I believe, running Redhat.
I am able to FTP files into httpdocs, but when I try to pull them up via browser, I get 404's. Additionally, the default landing page persists, even though I deleted their index.html.
I can SSH with root, but have thus far not been able to find my way to httpdocs via command line. Updated: scratch that. Found it. Files are there...
I am accessing solely via IP, as I do not want to redirect the domain until the new site is up and running.
Any thoughts on where I need to be looking for a solution? I'm not really a server person, though this is the first time I've encountered so much trouble. I do not foresee NS support being much help, per prior (recent) experience.
I can't check my mails using POP3 and Outlook Express. If I do a 'telnet hostname_address 110', I get the MTA welcome message, however when I try to access with Outlook Express, it takes like 30 secs, then it says it's taking time and asks if I want to wait more or cancel, I click "Wait", then after a few secs it says the waiting time expired. Do you know what may be causing it?
I had csf firewall installed, and due to my own stupidity, attempted to login with the wrong password one too many times, which added my IP to iptables, locking me out. I had to SSH into a linux box at school, and then ssh into my server to stop the iptables service so I could get into my server.
I removed every trace of my IP that I could find in csf, but sometime in the middle of the night, iptables reloads some rules from somewhere that blocks me again. I also tried doing iptables -F to clear all rules, but again, sometime in the middle of the night, rules are reloaded and I get blocked. I even uninstalled csf to no avail. I just want to remove my IP once and for all.
I have recently deployed PPA with on nodes with hostnames on the serverroom.net.au domain, so management.serverroom.net.au, mail.serverroom.net.au etc. The DNS is currently hosted on a plesk server which will soon be migrated to PPA.
When I add the serverroom.net.au domain to PPA, I it fails at the sync task with an error saying that there are no A or AAA records for ns1.serverroom.net.au, even when these records exist in the external DNS. The same error occurs when I try to add the domain as a dns entry and switch to internal...
i have installed a Win2008R2 server with IIS and Coldfusion. I want to allow customer to set DSN, i know that older "Plesk Panel" versions that can do but i missing this now in PPA in the customer view. In the subscription is OBDC and Coldfusion connections allowed and unlimited. Must i do anything to activate this ?
We operate many Plesk VPS servers in a virtual environment for our customers and would really like the ability to allow Plesk VPS servers to switch to using our PPA DNS servers instead of having to have multiple ips on each VPS to run their own name servers. Not to mention the added nuisance of each customer having to register name servers and glue records.
We looked at adding the Plesk servers as nodes to our PPA cluster but the license jump and loss of Nginx is completely prohibitive. Is this possible?
Is it somehow possible to disable autoresponders for spam mails? Many spam mails are sent under false addresses and will produce MAILER DEAEMON messages if the autoresponder trys to reply to them.
We currently have Plesk Expand 2.3.2 with 3 Linux servers, 1 Windows server, a SmarterMail server and 2 DNS servers that we are looking to migrate to PPA 11.5. I have the PPA working okay and am trying to test out a migration on just one domain from one of the Linux servers. When I run the preliminary check I keep getting this error:
Error: Mail content transfer from Qmail/Postfix to SmarterMail mail service is not supported.
Assign this subscription to a service template which offers Postfix mail service. We aren't using Qmail or Postfix for user mailboxes in the Expand or PPA systems, only the SmarterMail. I've tried the work around listed here: [URL] .... but that didn't work.
Am I still going to have to assign Postfix to my Service Templates in PPA even if we're not planning on using it for mailboxes?
