My server is gradually running out of space as my websites expand. I have a spare second drive - is it possible to reconfigure plesk to use this second drive ? I see I can use the plesk config tool - but looking at the documentation it moves all your sites over to the new drive which I don't want to do ?
View 1 RepliesI have a cpanel/centos box with dual drives. I mounted the 2nd drive and wondering how I can go about using it as ftp space, even http space. Basically, in a sense using it as if it were a second "primary" drive so to speak.

View 10 Replies View RelatedWhen restoring a backup on Plesk 12, the error below is generated for some sites and the sites are only partially restored. Although the message talks about disk space, there is in fact plenty of free disk space - i.e. many GB. The backup was created on Plesk 11.5. The restore on Plesk 11.5 works.
I noticed that all the failed domains exceed the disk space allowed by their Service Plan. However, the 'Overuse is allowed' setting is selected. Strangely, I tried changing the Service Plan and retrying the backup and restore, and the same errors were generated.

Tried disabling notifications in Tweak Settings to no avail.
That apparently only affects end users.
I'm getting these emails for root.
Any way to disable it as it is annoying to receive them daily.
We have more than 10 domains on the same webspace, sharing the same document root. When we try to add a new domain on the same web space (sharing the same document root) Plesk takes a long time to create it (about 10 minutes). While domain creation, all the other domains sharing the same document root and web space get an authentication error. When Plesk finishes, all domains work again.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have two servers with SoftLayer. One with cPanel and the other with Windows. The cPanel server has two drives with the second drive being used for backup purpose of all sites on the cPanel server.
Is there a way of accessing this drive from my Windows server so that I can also make backup images of Windows server on this drive directly?
I know this isn't really hosting related, but WHT has always given the best answers to questions.

I have a new 1U server, which I ordered with no CD drive, as I have a little USB external DVD/CD which I would normally load the OS on.
However I have LOST IT !!!!
So I have been crawling the net for ways to install Windows XP (im just using XP for a very short time for testing!) from either a USB stick or by taking the hard drive out of the server, and copying the CD content onto it from a working windows computer.
Since my linux server is out of disk space, I just use cifs to mount some drives from the windows server for people to download files (usually 100-200mb/file).
But I found the performance is not good. For example, I need to wait for a long time before the download process begin. Also, it seems the load average of the server becomes high too.
Is there any suggestion? Should I mount the windows drives through cifs? Or should I change to another server which allow me to add more local harddisks? How about if I mount drives in other linux machine, will the performance better?
I am running Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition and something is using alot of my disk space, how can I find out what folders/files are using alot of disk space (As the items may be small, but there may be lots of them).

Lets per say someone got a hold of my Administrator password to have those important confidential files not to be seen a program like this would help. I am also going to set up that the server is only accessed from 2 secure locations just in case.
1- i did Os Reload with new Hard drive for "home"
2- data "backups" drive lost
3- replaced the old home drive as "/old drive"
4- " /old drive " is now the secondry drive in my server and it has the all sites usres and evry thing

The /olddrive/home directory contains the contents that were previously in the /home directory. You can copy files from this directory to any other directory on your server.
The command to copy files in the UNIX environment is the "cp" command.
The user directories in /olddrive/home directory contain the web page files for the users. However, simply copying the contents over will not recreate the users or domain entries in DNS/httpd. If you wish these back you will need to recreate them manually or restore them from backups.
Primary drive (centos/cpanel) is corrupt

I am having a new primary installed and old primary set as 2nd drive. I need to recover the cpanel domain accounts from this 2nd drive after I mount it with the method below:
mkdir /backup
mount /dev/sdb1 /backup
However, how do I actually recover these accounts in an automated process via whm? I've done this before with the same matter (corrupt primary drive, mount as 2nd, etc) but cannot exactly remember the proper steps.
I just purchased a brand new 10K 150GB drive. How can I take an exact copy of my current drive and transfer everything over to the new drive? I think I need to create a snapshop, or mirror it somehow.
What software will do this? I was told trueimage, but its very pricy, is there anything else?
My hosting company is offering to sell me backup space which will be mounted as a network location. e.g. /usr/local/backup
My question is how would I use this since Plesk seems to be configured either to use an FTP location or to use the server repository. Would I have to change the location of the server repository to this network location? This doesn't seem ideal.

Does anyone know why Disk Space needs to be entered in both 'Clients' & 'Domains' in Plesk? I don't understand how that works... If I set up a client template and make this 250MB Disk Space, and then set up a new Client using this template... Next I attach them to my Domain template where I have given them unlimited Disk Space... What will they have 250MB or Unlimited?

My data is backed up, so was going to ask for a reimage, but is this an indication of bad hardware? Should I ask for a replacement drive? Is there anything else I should try on my own before going to the host?
im running out of space on one of my sites but i have more then plenty of data transfer.
Unfortunately my hosting packaged it weird where they provide not enough hd space. Im trying to figure out is there a way where i can use another server or hosting company that can provide space only and use their servers just for space?
i think amazon.com offered this but wasnt sure how exactly this works.

Apache would start but the passthrough doesn't work. What do I need to do? I have several url's with spaces.

View 2 Replies View RelatedNot sure if I labeled that correctly, but I am looking to setup a multi-server where I offer a cloud ssd hosting plan, and sata hosting plan. The current setup has ssd hosting, but id like to add another ip address, as well as its hard drive to host other websites on that specific server, which is sata based.
For example, I add a domain to my plesk 12 admin account and choose the added Ip address (the sata based one), where it points to that server to access the files for that specific website.
At the moment, cloudflare handles all of my dns settings.. but I am totally lost on how this needs to be setup and if I am required to purchase another plesk license. I am trying to avoid purchasing another plesk license and having to setup a whole new plesk installation just to do this.. This is a vps by the way, not a dedicated server...
We have Plesk installed with a dedicated disk on /opt. System disk is about 20 GB, data disk is about 220 Gb.There is 190 Gb free on the data disk (mounted on /opt).
But when we try to increase allocated space for a domain, Plesk says that there's enough disk space..Is there any change or adjustement on Plesk we can do, so Plesk will check space on the good disk ?
I have a customer on a 250MB hosting plan and has been using approximately 450MB for the past few days but hasn't received a resource overuse email.
In my notifications I have "Resource usage limits exceeded by subscription" set to send myself and the customer an email but neither of us have received anything.
I'm on PPA 11.5 MU#2 (Should upgrade to MU#3 soon). My problem is that the Usage of Disk Space for all my customers subscriptions are not calculated. I've run the daily maintenance script (which it actually runs periodically), but there's no update on the display.

I have set it on /var/backups and given the permission 1777.
I have rebooted the psa service and initialized the backup again but it always returns that error.
Moreover, if I run the command df -h, the tmp directory doesn't appear.
I have Plesk 12 on Centos6.I require a list of every subscription which has consumed the most data on the server. Disk space used by the following files and directories in the subscription:
Websites
Mail accounts
Databases
Logs
Backups
Chroot directories
Configuration files
Anonymous FTP directory
The Plesk bible only listed that this was possible through Subscriptions > Statistics. URL....However viewing the Subscriptions > Statistics is not an option because there are many subscriptions..I also have access to SSH/terminal and found a script for finding large file and directories here URL....However i rather have it in excel or HMTL format.
