I am getting these emails everyday. Two of them in fact, one after another.
------
Drive Warning: /dev/sda8 (/home) is 82% full
-----
Tried disabling notifications in Tweak Settings to no avail.
That apparently only affects end users.
I'm getting these emails for root.
Any way to disable it as it is annoying to receive them daily.
How can I disable the daily low space warning emails?

I have a cpanel/centos box with dual drives. I mounted the 2nd drive and wondering how I can go about using it as ftp space, even http space. Basically, in a sense using it as if it were a second "primary" drive so to speak.

I am getting this error on my site. I have googled this error and it is telling me it relates to a /temp/ folder of some form. I am currently on a hosting plan (not a dedicated server). Is there ANY way I can access to fix this problem either from my control panel or by code?
Redundancy or more hard drive space, what is your vote?

View 1 Replies View Relatedim running out of space on one of my sites but i have more then plenty of data transfer.
Unfortunately my hosting packaged it weird where they provide not enough hd space. Im trying to figure out is there a way where i can use another server or hosting company that can provide space only and use their servers just for space?
i think amazon.com offered this but wasnt sure how exactly this works.
1- i did Os Reload with new Hard drive for "home"
2- data "backups" drive lost
3- replaced the old home drive as "/old drive"
4- " /old drive " is now the secondry drive in my server and it has the all sites usres and evry thing
5- what i need , to trasfer, copy this sites from " /old drive " to "home"
but data center said
The /olddrive/home directory contains the contents that were previously in the /home directory. You can copy files from this directory to any other directory on your server.
The command to copy files in the UNIX environment is the "cp" command.
The user directories in /olddrive/home directory contain the web page files for the users. However, simply copying the contents over will not recreate the users or domain entries in DNS/httpd. If you wish these back you will need to recreate them manually or restore them from backups.
Primary drive (centos/cpanel) is corrupt
The server is displaying these errors when I tried to do an FSCK:
Bad inode IO
ext3-fs error (device(8,3)) IO Failure
I am having a new primary installed and old primary set as 2nd drive. I need to recover the cpanel domain accounts from this 2nd drive after I mount it with the method below:
mkdir /backup
mount /dev/sdb1 /backup
However, how do I actually recover these accounts in an automated process via whm? I've done this before with the same matter (corrupt primary drive, mount as 2nd, etc) but cannot exactly remember the proper steps.
I just purchased a brand new 10K 150GB drive. How can I take an exact copy of my current drive and transfer everything over to the new drive? I think I need to create a snapshop, or mirror it somehow.
What software will do this? I was told trueimage, but its very pricy, is there anything else?
I have a dedicated box and I started getting Input/output errors today.
I tried:
# fsck
fsck 1.40-WIP (14-Nov-2006)
e2fsck 1.40-WIP (14-Nov-2006)
/dev/hda2: recovering journal
fsck.ext3: unable to set superblock flags on /dev/hda2
then I tried:
# fsck -a -t ext3 /dev/hda2
fsck 1.40-WIP (14-Nov-2006)
/dev/hda2: recovering journal
fsck.ext3: unable to set superblock flags on /dev/hda2
My data is backed up, so was going to ask for a reimage, but is this an indication of bad hardware? Should I ask for a replacement drive? Is there anything else I should try on my own before going to the host?
Apache 2.2.25 on windows 32
I have a ProxyPass that looks like
ProxyPass /Share Documents http://partner2/Shared Documents/
But Apache will not start with spaces. I tried
ProxyPass /Shared%20Documents http://partner2/Shared%20Documents/
Apache would start but the passthrough doesn't work. What do I need to do? I have several url's with spaces.

I am in the process of moving my dedicated server from one location to another. I have requested second drive to be installed on server. How do I access in through SSH? I am using Linux, FC4.
Also, what is the command to compress all data in certain directory, so that I can simply wget the large compressed file from the new server?
I currently have a dedicated server with a single hard drive in it with about 800 cPanel accounts. I am purchasing a new server with identical specs but will have 2 hard drives in RAID1 from the same data center.
Is it possible to make an exact image of the first server to avoid any configuration loss on the new server? I have already spoke to the data center about moving the current IPs to the new server and I know moving the cPanel accounts can be done in WHM but I would like to preserve all of the server settings, configurations, and background scripts that I have running.
After adding a second drive mounted as /home2 for backups I attempted to use the cPanel "Configure Backup" and I get the following message.
Quotas cannot be built!
Your cpbackup destination is on a filesystem which has quotas enabled.
Please move it to a filesystem which does not have quotas turned on
or a separate partition/disk slice mounted at /backup.Backup has been
disabled to prevent quota problems...
All searches on how to resolve this really reveal no solutions.
I did a google search on "disable filesystem quota" among others and could
find nothing.
We have a powerful server for our databases, 8 cores, 4gb ram etc because we have a huge amount of MySQL data. We store the data on a standard SATAII 500GB drive, would we notice a dramatic performance improvement if we stored the data on a SA-SCSI 10/15k drive?

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhat is the best way to setup my server hard drives for shared hosting? I have yet to purchase the hard drives. I was thinking of using two 250GB HD's or maybe a single 500GB HD. What is your experience with this in the past? Should I aim to use SATA or IDE? My thoughts are its better to have two drives for redundancy and performance.
View 3 Replies View Relatedany idea if this is possible? basically what i'd like to do is make a "virtual folder" in my linux box that is actually a connection to an ftp account on another server.
so for e.g. if i say cd /myftp it'll show the contents of that directory as though it was a standard folder, however it is actually connecting to some other machine via ftp?
I know this isn't really hosting related, but WHT has always given the best answers to questions.
Right here goes...
I have a new 1U server, which I ordered with no CD drive, as I have a little USB external DVD/CD which I would normally load the OS on.
However I have LOST IT !!!!
So I have been crawling the net for ways to install Windows XP (im just using XP for a very short time for testing!) from either a USB stick or by taking the hard drive out of the server, and copying the CD content onto it from a working windows computer.
which case is more preferred: a shared web hosting service with unlimited space/bandwidth, or a dedicated one with limited space/bandwidth?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI look after a Dell PE2800 server, it has a pair of 5.25 bays on the front, the top most of the two contains a Dell PowerVault 100T DAT72 tape backup drive. I have a second identical drive that i now wish to install into the bay beneath in a similar manner.
Problem is this - my colleague tell me that Dell are no longer selling the mounting brackets / rails needed to install the drive. I have had a fruitless look through the internet for a number of weeks now and hope that someone in the forum may be able to suggest a solution to the problem... anybody know a source for the brackets? Is there a parts site somewhere ive missed? Anyone happen to have what im after? Or any alternative suggestions?
I'm about to purchase a 2nd server to be used as a database/app server alongside my current server (of which will be the web server).
I wish to use 2 x 146GB 10K SCSI hard disks (in RAID 1) on the database server, but will be keeping 2 x 320GB SATAII 16M in RAID 1 on the web server. Will the SATA hard disks affect the performance / effectiveness of the SCSI disks or will I benefit from SCSI even though they're only in the database server?
Also, I'm going for 10K hard disks over 15K because they $20 per month cheaper and it's already expensive ($150 p/m for the two 10K or $170 p/m for 2 x 15k). Taking into account the already hefty price, is it worth the extra for 15K?

I'm looking for a server with 3-4 TB of disk space and moderate traffic requirements (1.5-2 TB a month will suffice).
CPU, RAM do not really matter.
Location: EU or US.
Price: ~100 USD a month with some setup fee or ~120 USD without.
So far I found OVH's SP Storage (http://www.ovh.co.uk/individual/products/superplan_storage.xml) which offers 4 x 1.5 TB RAID0/1 drives for a total of 3 TB disk space. However I can't register with them and their sales did not react quickly enough yet to help me.
Is there anyone else with similar offerings with whom you have personal experience?
