Nov 16, 2014While attempting to migrate from previous version of Plesk Panel Windows to current (Windows 2012 R2 with Plesk Panel 12) version, following error appears which stops PMM to proceed further.
Error: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: 'C:ParallelsPleskPMM
sessions20141117102120197capability_info'
This error is generated for all subscriptions which we are trying to migrate and above file can indeed be confirmed missing.

Jan 23, 2014I have a Windows VPS with Plesk panel. Windows Server 2008 R2 with plesk panel version 11.5.30.
I tried to change the default plesk panel port (8443) to eg (1234) without any success.
The steps i followed are the following:
1) Firewall -> Inbound rule -> allow for port 1234
2) Firewall, Disable inbound rule for port 8443
3) IIS, PleskControlPanel, Bindings: changed binding from 8443 to 1234.
Now i type on browser: [URL] .... and while its loading after some seconds redirects me to [URL] ...

i think when i had cpanel the webhost manager allowed me to do this

Apr 8, 2015I am setting up a new server and started to migrate domains from an 11.x plesk server to this new server with plesk 12.x on it. Everything works fine, domains, users, mailboxes, everything is migrated - except the horde settings inside the webmail. I recognized this after my first login into webmail, normally the inbox is shown (I configured my webmaoil this way) but after the migration this setting is lost - including all other settings. How to migrate this settings?

May 18, 2015I have a new Server (CentOS Linux 7.1.1503) and will migrate the Data from my old Server (Ubuntu 14.04 LTS) with the Migration Manager. Both Servers running with Plesk 12.0.18
After i entered the Server-IP and the Login-Data for the old Server i became this Error on the new Server:

Both uses plesk 11.5.30 version.
I'm using the "Migration & Transfer Manager" for importing everything but it does not work. The error is

Seems like an ssh problem but ssh from shell works fine in both directions.
I tried also to create public key and put into authorized_keys with no luck..
Plesk 12.x / Linux :: Fail2ban Default Blocking Port
Feb 11, 2015i'm running 12.0.18#34 on PCS dedicated server. i recently discovered that some of the default jails on fail2ban that is shipped with Plesk 12 were not working correctly. Let me explain what i mean. For instance, the plesk-panel jail. The logs were parsed correctly, the command was successfully appended in iptables list, the fail2ban log was updated. Still, the intruder was not blocked. I kept reading "already banned" on the fail2ban.log but actually there was no blocking.
After some checks, i found out that fail2ban default configuration states SSH as default blocking port.
that means, the block was working but only for ssh hits. thus the plesk-panel admin page hits were passing through.
since i added port=http,https on jail.local > plesk-panel and did it a restart on fail2ban service, only then did it start to actually block incoming hits.
I think this should be verified by programmers group and maybe include a fix in some future minor update.
Plesk Automation :: After PPA Migration - Outgoing SMTP Submission Port Error
Aug 29, 2013After migrating our existing client base from legacy Plesk 9.x servers and Expand to PPA, clients phoned in with mail sending problems. These clients are using submission port 587 because their ISPs intercept port 25.
Existing client, Outlook error message:
"None of the authentication methods supported by this client are supported by your server"
Testing with Thunderbird, error message:
"An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: 5.7.0 Must issue a STARTTLS command first. Please verify that your email address is correct in your Mail preferences and try again."
It seems a "fresh" PPA requires STARTTLS on e-mail clients. It is furthermore confirmed that Thunderbird detects the e-mail server settings as dependant on TLS.
The problem is that TLS doesn't seem to work properly by default.
In order to preserve our existing customer base, we follow: [URL] ....
Bottom line, in your /etc/postfix/master.cf, change the line that says "submission" from this:
submission inet n – - – - smtpd -o smtpd_enforce_tls=yes -o smtpd_tls_security_level=encyrpt -o smtpd_sasl_auth_enable=yes -o smtpd_client_restrictions=permit_sasl_authenticate d,reject -o smtpd_sender_restrictions= -o smtpd_proxy_filter=127.$

This is just a quick fix to get you going and stop the phones from ringing. Ideally we would like to re-enable TLS and have information as to why it is not working.

Feb 1, 2015Using Plesk 12 with an automated install of Wordpress. Created a site locally using wamp and after some database related issues finally managed to upload the content using a plug in and the content looks fine and largely(!) works.The directory structure is root/httpdocs/wordpress (and I can't change that as a webapp is using it - presumably the Wordpress install).
Following various articles on the net I've deleted the Wordpress skeleton files and index.html file however I'm not entirely sure whether the index.php file should directly be under root or in the httpdocs folder?? - as wherever I put index.php and edit the path accordingly it doesn't display the site.Adding the wordpress folder into the site address ie mysite.com/wordpress displays the content.
Also one article indicated that as I'm using permalinks I need to also copy the .htaccess file but it doesn't display in the Plesk file manager. I know it's a hidden file but I can't see it either when forcing FileZilla to show hidden files.[edit - as it's a windows server, further reading indicates it should be web.config rather than .htaccess (?) but the same comment applies... imh]

I just have a little problem with SMTP authorization.
This option, if i'm not doing something wrong, is located on Mail Settings and especially in the section "Relay options". I ticked "authorization is required" and "SMTP".
But when I try to check it on my email client, I can send emails with or without the the SMTP authorization option on the email client.

We are in testing mode of migrating websites hosted with source plesk version 10.4.4 onto destination server plesk server 12.0.18 having (windows server 2012 R2).
What we did, we restored the backup of Source plesk version 10.4.4 (windows server 2008) to Destination plesk version 12.0.18 MU#23 built.
Now the problem is that backup which we restored on Destination plesk version 12.0.18 MU#23 was of 68 GB and now when we setup the backup on Destination plesk version 12.0.18 MU#23 and when backup completes successfully it show us wrong backup size up to 16 GB.
We have requested several times to plesk support has to check the entire new plesk version in terms of all feature (like taking backup, restoring, plesk installation etc) while releasing new version, If they have noticed bug than plesk support should not release new version or micro update until they are sure.
I would request them again to check backup size bug along with other bugs.

Mar 31, 2014I've installed the Plesk Panel onto a windows 2008 server. It's all good, web sites are flowing and I'm really happy with the software. The issue I'm having is a customer has an asp site with an access database. After I uploaded their site, they couldn't write to the database, so I had to manually go and set the permission on the database for the "Plesk IIS Anonymous Account (IUSR_xxx)" user to have modify access on the file.
So my question is this, how can I set up the default hosting account to already allow this and so I don't have to go an waste time tweaking the folders manually trying to find the right permissions?
Also, why is it the Plesk IIS Anonymous account that needed to have it's permissions tweaked and not the "Default Plesk application pool user (IWAM_plesk(default))" which is the user who's configured on the application pool in IIS? I can't see where the Plesk IIS Anon user is being used.

Oct 29, 2014i upgraded plesk few days ago to the latest version to be able to use it on my tablet.when i done so My mail enable webmail is not functioning anymore, it opens the default plesk website.i have mail enable enterprise version 6.6 licensed.i tried to rebuild i tried everything till now i tried to go to server components and try to disable the webmail and re enable it and see. so it disabled fine, when i tried to enable it gave this error: Error: Set default component failed: defpackagemng failed: Execute websrvmng --add-webmail-site --webmail=mewebmail failed with error code 1: Cannot find hosting by domain ID 47
how to get my webmail back up. an update, i have tried enabling horde first, then i tried accessing the webmail it worked with horde, then i went back to server components, when i tried enabling mailenable webmail now it didnt give the error and worked. (ONLY when horde is enabled with it) then i went back to mail settings tried to use mail enable instead of horde, now it gives service is unavailable! a complete new error. i went to iis i found that MailEnableAppPool status: stopped, i tried enabling then restart iis, once restart it gets back to disabled,
