I think the samba add on for Plesk 12 is not correctly implemented for CentOS 7.To get smb users added I first had to manually install the samba-client, since smbpasswd was missing:
Code: yum install samba-client Next I had to manually run
Code: chcon -R -t samba_share_t /var/www/vhosts/my-server.tld/ for each share to be able to access it...
OS CentOS 6.5 (Final) Plesk version 12.0.18 Update #6, last updated at July 2, 2014 11:13 AM
The system is up-to-date; last checked at June 27, 2014 04:43 AM
All current websites on the server seem to work fine any new subscriptions we cannot get working at all.
We can connect via FTP to new sites SOMETIMES - just cant get directory listing. When we can connect and get into a directory it slows down.
In Active mode: Command:MLSD Response:425 Unable to build data connection: Connection refused Error:Failed to retrieve directory listing Install Wordpress via the Parallels panel it loads and says it is all there, just can't log or display any pages. The default Parallels page is displayed.
Upload a html page via the File Manager in Parallels and it displays the default Parallels page.
Unpack the Wordpress tar file via File Manager and it displays the default Parallels page.
The Wordpress feature in Parallels says it is working fine, can't display any page, can't log in as it returns a 404 page or the default Parallels page.
Create a site in Presence builder and Parallels says there is a site. The default Parallels page is displayed when opening the site.
Go to DOMAINS and there is 0mb in space used and there are files listed in the File Manager - none of which can be displayed.
After successful creation of a full backup, pmm-ras hangs forever (100% CPU) while trying to export the dump to FTP. I have two identical Plesk 12.0.18 installations and this happens only on one of them.
I see the following in /opt/psa/PMM/sessions/*/.stderr:
Use of uninitialized value in numeric eq (==) at /opt/psa/admin/bin/plesk_agent_manager line 827.
I have been seeing these in my log and received complaints from customers not able to get their mail out. These messages just stay in the queue and go no where.
what they are successfully using as a tlsserverciphers and tlsclientciphers? Maybe it the dh key being too small. How can this be fixed on Qmail?
Plesk Panel > Updates and Upgrades > Install "Plesk VPN extension" Green Message "All operations with products and components have been successfully completed." Going back from Upgrade window to Plesk Panel Home

What I already have tried: Shell > apt-get install psa-vpn
Getting error mossage:

I tried to install php55 on opensuse 13.1 with plesk 12 running from an opensuse untested package
goal: Install php55 for all domains/subscriptions, esspecially including zendoptimizer. Sicne its all WP, there is no need to configure php-version it for each domain. I actually dont even need several php-versions.
result: - php-version shown: 5.5 - mysql extension missing in package - wordpress in my subscriptions couldnt connect to mysql-db
assumption: - "bad" sw-package - bad configuration - my lack of knowledge esspecially about php/mysql
question(s): - Is there a standard/recommended install for php5.5 on opensuse 13.1 and plesk12? I failed to google a fitting one - I probably had the wrong package for php55 - compile myself or is there a recommended package? - Should I go for php 7 (6) or go for php 55? (Why?)
I am trying to install Plesk 12.0 on fresh CentOS 6 (64bit). It goes as far as initialising the databases and then moans about missing files:/usr/bin/sw-engine: error while loading shared libraries: libpng12.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
I then install libpng $ yum install libpng.x86_64
Re-run installer and hits next error - libfreetype: /usr/bin/sw-engine: error while loading shared libraries: libfreetype.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directoryI have CentOS-base repo and Epel repo enabled.
Why are those files not being installed as dependencies by Plesk? Is this a bug ?
Plesk recently attempted to do an auto-update and it failed. I have not been able to get it to update since. When I connect using SSH, and try to do a manual yum update I get the following error:
Code: Loaded plugins: fastestmirror Setting up Update Process Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile epel/metalink | 13 kB 00:00 Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/bin/yum", line 29, in <module>
Migrating accounts to a fresh Plesk 12 installation task fails with the following error: Perhaps /usr/local/psa/admin/bin/deployer application missing, has incorrect permissions or unexpectedly terminated
Fresh install of Plesk 12.0.18 MU42 on CentOS 7.1. Tried to reinstall, same problem.
According to: URL....I tried to install php 5.3...Before able to .configure php source, i must install several dependencies. I resolved most of them but installing libmcrypt-devel gives the following error:
I'm using Plesk 12.0.18 on a virtual container powered by Parallels Virtuozzo Containers, and I cannot get the FTP (personal repository) working. In my settings, I've unchecked Passive mode (as the VPS is configured with the Virtuozzo firewall) yet Plesk still seems to test the connection with passive mode, which I know will fail. However active FTP on the command-line works fine.
Saving the repository fails with (after a hang): Transport error: unable to list directory: Curl error: Couldn't connect to server If the "directory" doesn't exist on the FTP server it fails immediately, so the connection is working, and it seems to be on the "dir/ls" command that it fails - which is a symptom it's using Passive mode.
According to the Panel log file, Plesk issues the below command:
Note the "--use-ftp-passive-mode" even though "passive mode" is UNCHECKED in the UI.
From a terminal:
# ftp ftp.hidrive.strato.com Connected to ftp.hidrive.strato.com (85.214.3.73). 220 Another visitor. Stay a while... Name (ftp.hidrive.strato.com:root): xxx 331 FTP login okay, send password. Password: 230 User logged in, proceed.
I attempted to install Zen Cart in a (correctly formed) subdomain and I received this message when the process crashed before beginning: "Non-zero exit status returned by script."
I am having trouble with backing up a wordpress multisite.. When backup is on i am getting this error:
Not all the data was backed up into /var/lib/psa/dumps/domains/<domain>/databases/<db_name> successfully. mysqldump: Got error: 1016: Can't open file: './<db_name>/<some_table>.frm' (errno: 24) when using LOCK TABLES
I am trying to update Plesk but whenever i try do so with the installer, the update fails because data is somehow added to /etc/apt/sources.list and sources cannot be read anymore. This happens both with the admin panel and the command lines.
why but autoupdate fails. It doesn't give a reason why it cant backup.

on a fresh installation of Ubuntu (at first 14.04 but on 12.04 the same problem occurs) I installed Plesk via the autoinstaller. It seems to be all fine except I cannot open Plesk in the browser.
The web browser shows "502 Bad Gateway", a look into the error_log at "/var/log/plesk/sw-cp-server" shows the following error:
Code: 2014/08/11 09:37:22 [crit] 4988#0: *4 connect() to unix:/var/run/sw-engine.sock failed (2: No such file or directory) while connecting to upstream, client: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx, server: , request: "GET / HTTP/1.1", upstream: "fastcgi://unix:/var/run/sw-engine.sock:", host: "xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8443" So the problem seems to be the sw-engine service that cannot be started. If I try to start it manually with `/etc/init.d/sw-engine start` it just fails:
Code: * Starting Plesk engine pool manager sw-engine-fpm [fail]
Where to find any startup error log for sw-engine, where I could find any further information.
I have a brand new Plesk 12 Installation with just a first Subscription/Domain for my test. Enabling fail2ban jails brings me the following error for the jails plesk-proftpd and ssh. All others went on.
error 'f2bmng failed: ERROR No file(s) found for glob /var/log/secure'.
I see that /var/log/secure is missing, althoug I already used ssh and ftp to log in once. I can go to touch the /var/log/secure file or adjust the jail configs to proper log file location? Which is the way to go?
We're trying to migrate a Webspace from a 11.5 to a 12.0.18 Plesk host using the Migration Manager. The Webspace contains 4 domains. The main domain of the webspace gets migrated fine, however, all of the "child" domains fail with the following error:
Stderr is Wrong syntax for command's '-webspace-name' parameter. 'webspace-domain.ch' does not match the pattern '/^[[:alnum:]]([[:alnum:]-]{0,61}[[:alnum:]]){0,1}(.[[:alnum:]]([[:alnum:]-]{0,61}[[:alnum:]]){0,1})+$/iu'.
Although running >> /usr/local/psa/bin/dns --info dev.sname.c002.aname.domain.com >> shows the 'ecz1' TXT record exists for "dev.sname.c002.aname.domain.com" : ... ecz1.dev.sname.c002.aname.domain.com. TXT ecz1
[Code] ....
The issue can be caused by extra spaces in the TXT record:
Code: [root@a10-52-143-28 ~]# /usr/local/psa/bin/dns --add dev.sname.c002.aname.domain.com -txt 'ecz1 ' -domain ecz1 SUCCESS: Creation of DNS record in Domain 'dev.sname.c002.aname.domain.com' complete. In the following example I have 3 such TXT records with 3, 5, 7 extra spaces and remove record with 3 spaces:
Code: [root@a10-52-143-28 ~]# mysql -u admin -p`cat /etc/psa/.psa.shadow` psa -e "select host, val, (length(val) - length(rtrim(val))) as extraspaces from dns_recs where host='ecz1.dev.sname.c002.aname.domain.com.' and val like 'ecz1%'" +---------------------------------------+-------------+-------------+ | host | val | extraspaces | +---------------------------------------+-------------+-------------+ | ecz1.dev.sname.c002.aname.domain.com. | ecz1 | 5 | | ecz1.dev.sname.c002.aname.domain.com. | ecz1 | 3 |
If a Plesk admin wants to install Wordpress, the installation always fails.
1. Select Server Management -> Tools & Settings -> Security -> Security Policy 2. Select (*) Very strong 3. Confirm with OK 4. Select Hosting Services -> Domains 2. Select Domain 3. Select Button Install Apps 4. Select Wordpress in All Available Applications 5. Select Install 6. Error message is shown! Error: Installation of WordPress at http://lyl-canbys.de/blog failed. Your password is not complex enough. According to the server policy, the minimal password strength is Very strong. To improve the password strength, use numbers, upper and lower-case characters, and special characters like !,@,#,$,%,^,&,*,?,_,~
But the password was complex enough. with 20 numbers+charcters+special chars!
I i lower Plesks Security Policy to (*) Strong, the Wordpress installation works. But lowering Security with password length 8 is not desireable.
I experienced an issue using an external backup repository on Plesk 12.0.18 machines using ftps. The ftp server uses ftps (explicit) connections.Plesk 11.5 works fine (and ordinary ftp client like Filezilla as well), Plesk 12 throws the following error when trying to add the server via the web interface:
Code: Curl error: Login denied Unencrypted connections will work. Plesk 11.5 machines (with the same settings) will work.
I've analyzed the problem and got so far: The backup manager tries to connect using "regular" transfer method + ssl, not ftp-ssl explicit. Is there a chance to force Plesk using explicit ftpes connections? Or is there another work around? Some additional infos about the (ftp) server: The ftp server is running ProFTP 1.3.4d, uses port 2000 for the control port and has a port range (2001 - 2100) for the passive connections.I tried to add the server using the address field of the gui IP:2000 and checkboxed "passive mode" and "ftps".
I am using Plesk Panel 11.0.9 (latest updates applied) on CentOS 6.4. at Strato. Unfortunately I can not send email from outside of the server (thunderbird). As I am not familiar wwith mail server configuration at all I would expect that plesk panel does that for me (right?)
* I can send emails via web mail. * I can receive emails in thunderbird, but sending runs into a timeout. * The plesk firewall configuration does have a rule for smtp (but I don't see for which port), so I would expect it is not a firewall issue * I would like to send with some security (starttls and encrypted password), but sending does currently also not work with any combination of (non-)security setting.
My domain has been migrated from another provider, I added it myself via Plesk panel later. The only mail-related change I did without plesk panel was to copy the mailboxes from my old server to /var/qmail/mailnames. But this should not effect sending email...
I would like each of my clients who have a dedicated IP address and an SSL certificate to be able to use their own domain name (and own certificate) when sending mail on ports 465 or 587. I have managed to change the default certificate used by Postfix to my own server's certificate, but I want users to use their OWN IP address and SSL certificate when sending, so this is not an option.
I have been able to update Dovecot to use a specific certificate for each IP address, but I can't seem to update Postfix. I was trying to follow these instructions but my postfix master.cf was quite different than the poster's file and I didn't succeed: [URL] ....
I know many people will simply say "it can't be done" or "just get the users to use the shared IP address", but I know there must be some workaround to make this work, even if it means manually updating the config file after every Plesk update. I'm even prepared (if possible) to have Plesk abandon management of Postfix and have me manage it manually, if that's even an option.
I am having trouble with setting up an email account to set up the email I go to Mail > Create Email Address > and enter email address (info@example.com) and check the "access to control panel" and create a password and also check "mailbox" .
But in the email client, when I go to use SMTP and I enter the following info:
- SMTP Server: example.com - username: info@example.com - password: password I created above - port 25 - user TLS
I get this error: Your other email provider is responding too slowly. Please try again later, or contact the administrator of your other domain for further information.
