Plesk 11.x / Windows :: Subdomain Frame Forward

Oct 4, 2012

I have 2 domain names, lets say domain1.com and domain2.com.

domain1 is the main domain and it has a subdomain, lets say sub.domain1.com.

What i want to do is to forward domain2 to domain1 without loosing its name. I used frame forwarding at plesk panel. The domain2 is correctly forwarded to domain1 without loosing its name. The problem is that the sub.domain2.com displays the domain1.com and not the sub.domain1.com

Below are my dns settings at domain2.com:
xx.xx.xx.xx / 24 PTR domain2.com.
sub.domain2.com. A xx.xx.xx.xx
ftp.domain2.com. CNAME domain2.com.
ipv4.domain2.com. A xx.xx.xx.xx

[Code] .....

where xx.xx.xx.xx is my ip.

The funny thing is that webmail.domain2.com works fine.

No-ip + Port Forward To Virtual Machine - Is It Safe?

Jul 18, 2008

I've set up a website using a no ip-account, nothing fancy or business-oriented, and I have it working this way:

no-ip(port 80 redirect to port 6500)->router(redirect port 6500 to pc2 with ip 192.168.1.3)->pc2(vmware server redirects port 6500 to virtual machine with ip 192.168.60.100, which is running an asp .net server serving on port 6500)

The router does not forward any port other than that one, but I would like to know if this has any risk for the other machines on the lan.

the error message is -2147220973The transport failed to connect to the server. I can telnet to port 465 of my mail server

*It appears that CDOSYS.dll does not support TLS by design. Therefore, need to find another SMTP mail compoents to replace it if using SMTPS.

Sep 17, 2014

After a recent migration from 11.5 (CentOS 6.5) to 12 (CentOS 6.5) my forwards no longer work.

I have removed the domain. Created a new domain and set forwarding up. Just goes to a plesk page.

I then ran /usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/httpdmng --reconfigure-domain domain.tld on it and it still does not work. I then went through each forward on the sever and none of them work.

Plesk 12.x / Linux :: Standard Domain Forwarding Does Not Forward Https Connections

Apr 29, 2015

URL....We are running Plesk 12 on a Linux VPS where we have multiple domains running.Multiple of these domains should redirect from www. domain name. ext to https://ext.domainname.com.This is configured with the Domain forwarding in Plesk, with hosting type Forwarding.But as described in the 2 links provided above, whenever you go to https://www.domain.ext, it does not redirect, and actually shows a Security error, since the domain doesn't have the SSL-certificate installed (because it should redirect to the https://ext.domainname.com).

Clearly we don't want visitors on the website to receive the (incorrect) Security error, and we want all traffic to http(s)://www.domain.ext to be redirected to the appropriate subdomains. allows us to redirect both the https/http connections to the domains, without forcing us to have the domains have a Website hosting add redirect them manually with (for example) .htaccess.

Plesk 12.x / Linux :: Postfix Wants To Run On Port 587 Even Though This Is Turned OFF

Feb 25, 2015

Each migration in the last years I'm running into this bug that Postfix wants to run on port 587 even though this is turned OFF in the Plesk Panel.

Sometimes it does this after some update.

Because another process is running on port 587 this means that postfix does not start and I have some downtime until I "repair" this.

"Repairing" means going into Plesk panel and turning ON SMTP-Auth.... Wait a moment for it to apply and then turning it OFF again....

This unwanted behaviour can be easily reproduced by having this option turned off in the Plesk panel and then running /usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/mchk --without-spam

This will end up in a non-running postfix if another process is already running on port 587.

This shouldn't be happening. Especially because I reported this behaviour years ago..

Plesk 12.x / Linux :: How To Change Nginx Port

Feb 3, 2015

I need changing the nginx port. I've followed various threads and have created a custom nginxDomainVirtualHost.php file at: /usr/local/psa/admin/conf/templates/custom/domain, while the website indeed moves to the port I have set, a second nginx thread starts at port 80 and takes over in it's place.

I need to put varnish at port 80 and cannot do so until all services relinquish control on port 80.

Followed clues here: [URL] ....

some here: [URL] .....

Turn's out to be able to change the nginx port to a non-standard port you need to edit 6 files

nginx.php
nginxDomainForwarding.php
nginxDomainForwardingIpDefault.php
nginxDomainVhost.php
nginxDomainVhostIpDefault.php
nginxWebmail.php

For the time being i disabled SSL support for my test domain as I didn't need it. The line you need to look for the in above files is:

Code:

$VAR->server->nginx->httpPort

So the line would finally become from this:

Code:

<?php echo $VAR->includeTemplate('server/nginxVhosts.php', array(
'ssl' => false,
'frontendPort' => $VAR->server->nginx->httpPort,
'backendPort' => $VAR->server->webserver->httpPort,
)) ?>

to this:

Code:

<?php echo $VAR->includeTemplate('server/nginxVhosts.php', array(
'ssl' => false,
'frontendPort' => "8888",
'backendPort' => $VAR->server->webserver->httpPort,
)) ?>

To get this to work you'll need to create a custom directory at: /usr/local/psa/admin/conf/templates

And copy the files over from the root of /usr/local/psa/admin/conf/templates/default

Plesk 12.x / Linux :: Fail2ban Default Blocking Port

Feb 11, 2015

i'm running 12.0.18#34 on PCS dedicated server. i recently discovered that some of the default jails on fail2ban that is shipped with Plesk 12 were not working correctly. Let me explain what i mean. For instance, the plesk-panel jail. The logs were parsed correctly, the command was successfully appended in iptables list, the fail2ban log was updated. Still, the intruder was not blocked. I kept reading "already banned" on the fail2ban.log but actually there was no blocking.

After some checks, i found out that fail2ban default configuration states SSH as default blocking port.
that means, the block was working but only for ssh hits. thus the plesk-panel admin page hits were passing through.

since i added port=http,https on jail.local > plesk-panel and did it a restart on fail2ban service, only then did it start to actually block incoming hits.

I think this should be verified by programmers group and maybe include a fix in some future minor update.

When trying to access the branded domain it tries to redirect to https://branded-domain.com but the page fails to load, looks as though the control panel is not listening on port 443.

Even trying to access https://ip-address of CP fails but https://ip-address:8443 works fine.

If I try to telnet to the CP ip:443 it fails to connect.

What is apsc? I found an apsc.conf (in /etc/sw-cp-server/conf.d) the file contains the line "listen 6308 ssl;". So far that explains why sw-cp-server is listening on that particular tcp port.

Which service is provided by apsc? Can I change it to listen only to 127.0.0.1? I like my server to have a minimum of open ports to the public.
