I´ve read that a whole https website might be better for SEO than just a mixed version. So I want to change the whole website to https.
We are using Plesk 12 on Win 2008 R2. One Website is using DotNetNuke 7.3.2.
How can I automatically set the whole website to https?
What happens to the users that just type domainname.com without http or https.?
What is the right search engine friendly technique to permanently redirect to the https version even when the user is not using the application protocol prefix http/https?
Where can I do the setup in Plesk 12 fro Windows?
Are their any other drawbacks that I have to think over before I do the changes?
One failure cited by a recent PCI compliance report was that of the Plesk non-https login at port 8880. I believe we can resolve this by adding a firewall rule to block access to this port but wanted to check first if this will have any negative consequences elsewhere. Or is there a better way to achieve PCI compliance on this point?
I was wondering if it is possible to disable plesk redirect for clients domains on port 8443.I do not not want clients to to be able to access the plesk login screen when they visit exampleclientdomain.com:8443 but obviously i still want to be able to access my control panel e.g. myprimarydomain.com:8443. Is there something i can do to prevent the sites redirecting to my primary domain or am i better creating a htaccess rule to stop/redirect traffic on port 8443 ?
I've tried to enable https on a domain /server: vpn, debian 6.0.10, plesk 12.0.18/ but all I receive is a 403 forbidden error. I can't find any other related option, what could be the problem?
Does HTTPS on a Windows site require SNI like it apparently does on Linux nodes? If it does, I've been avoiding moving a site to an existing server that only has one IP, so I may as well move it there instead of setting up a Windows node in PPA.
I have a VPS with 1&1 and i'm trying to customize the Control Panel hostname to mypcp.mycustomdomain.com...I have added mypcp A record for mycustomdomain.com pointing to the server's IP address.
Right now if I type the full URL: https://mypcp.mycustomdomain.com:8443 it works fine but if i type just mypcp.mycustomdomain.com:8443 it keeps loading until it times out but it never redirects to https.
URL....We are running Plesk 12 on a Linux VPS where we have multiple domains running.Multiple of these domains should redirect from www. domain name. ext to https://ext.domainname.com.This is configured with the Domain forwarding in Plesk, with hosting type Forwarding. But as described in the 2 links provided above, whenever you go to https://www.domain.ext, it does not redirect, and actually shows a Security error, since the domain doesn't have the SSL-certificate installed (because it should redirect to the https://ext.domainname.com).
Clearly we don't want visitors on the website to receive the (incorrect) Security error, and we want all traffic to http(s)://www.domain.ext to be redirected to the appropriate subdomains. allows us to redirect both the https/http connections to the domains, without forcing us to have the domains have a Website hosting add redirect them manually with (for example) .htaccess.
I have install Plesk 11.5.3 on my Windows Server 2008 r2. I want to try Mailenable on the PleskServer, so i installed the feature, but know when I am calling the webmailer with http:webmail.domainname.de works fine, but when I try https://webmail.domainname.de i become a Not found: HTTP Error 404. The requested resource is not found
How do we disable email on the domain entirely? The client is hosting email externally - the offered spam filtering is wholely inadequate and we're seeing a few of these happening - to the point I'm considering offering externally hosted email plans anyway - but back to the problem - I need to delete the mailboxes and then disable mail - and then remove the DNS records for webmail etc - but can't seem to find how to turn off locally hosted email for a domain.
New to Plesk in general so I don't know for sure if the "Register Domain Names" feature is part of our 'Web Pro Edition' or comes by default.
Also, is the domain registration option showing up because when installing Plesk I enabled the "Enable access to premium commercial apps"?
So my question is, can we still set it up so users have access to install applications (free and commercial), but disable the domain registration option?
I have a Plesk 12 server running under Debian 7. I have a website with only mail so I disable web hosting. The problem is that the client needs to use webmail but webmail does not work (maybe because web hosting is disabled)...
I have several domains configured in my Plesk, and one of them is set as the "Detault site" under Home >> Tools & Setings > IP address management. This has the unpleasant side effect that any domain I point to this IP renders content from the Default site unless it's setup. How can I configure the default site to render content from only one domain?
Plesk for Windows 11.5.30 MailEnable Professional 7.55
We are have setup smtp like this
If i telnet 587 from outside and on the server no problem all is working great ! If i try telenet 25 from outside I can not connect ! But if och do it from the server i can connect !! It is probably something i missed, but I can not find the correct settings ! Firewall is open for 25 and 587 !
Suddenly my cdosys mails can not use port 465 over SSL......Is it related to the fact SSLv3 is disabled or something, both the client and mail servers have SSLv3 disabled...or my cdosys.dll is corrupted....
the error message is -2147220973The transport failed to connect to the server. I can telnet to port 465 of my mail server
*It appears that CDOSYS.dll does not support TLS by design. Therefore, need to find another SMTP mail compoents to replace it if using SMTPS.

I have a Windows VPS with Plesk panel. Windows Server 2008 R2 with plesk panel version 11.5.30.
I tried to change the default plesk panel port (8443) to eg (1234) without any success.
The steps i followed are the following: 1) Firewall -> Inbound rule -> allow for port 1234 2) Firewall, Disable inbound rule for port 8443 3) IIS, PleskControlPanel, Bindings: changed binding from 8443 to 1234.
Now i type on browser: [URL] .... and while its loading after some seconds redirects me to [URL] ...
