Plesk 11.x / Linux :: Pointing IP To Default Domain In 12.0.18
Jan 31, 2015
When typing my ip it used to go to Plesk landing page.
Then through the option: server > tools > IP Addresses, I changed the "Default site" to my main domain, however, it just points to the main page, and not changes the url to the domain (keeps the ip in title, and not show the domain url).
How to make it forwarded to the domain (show it in the address bar), and not just to the index page?Â
When a domain name is pointing to our server and the account is not setup yet, there's a default page that says:"
Quote:
Great Success! Apache is working on your cPanel® and WHM™ Server
If you can see this page, then the people who manage this server have installed cPanel and WebHost Manager (WHM) which use the Apache Web server software and the Apache Interface to OpenSSL (mod_ssl) successfully. They now have to add content to this directory and replace this placeholder page, or else point the server at their real content.
How can I modify that page ONLY for ROOT accounts and not my resellers?
i'm running the latest version of Plesk 11 on a Ubuntu 12.04 system.
We have a customer with a domain and this customer added other domains to his account.
now, 2 domains are not working, he created the as usual, Plesk created the directories under /vhosts/domain.com/domain1.com and the vhosts.conf are also correct.
when i'm opening the domain in the browser, i get the following error message:
The requested URL /var/www/vhosts/domain.com/index.php was not found on this server.
I recently set up an eas and autodiscover sub-domains on my main domain (eg myserver.com) running Plesk, Webmail etc, and is the default website for the ip.
So it should be..
myserver.com (not SNI default for IP) eas.myserver.com (SNI) autodiscover.myserver.com (SNI)
But I notice the actual default site (non SNI) is the sub-domain autodiscover.myserver.com.
I checked in
Plesk -> Tools & Settings -> IP Addresses
and that was set correctly, so I tried to change it and back again, then...
/opt/psa/admin/bin/httpdmng --reconfigure-all
Neither worked.
I'm running Ubuntu 12.04.5 LTS and Plesk 11.5.30 #48 (the latest MU)
I've just purchased a VPS with Ubuntu 14.04 and Plesk 12 Web Admin Edition. I will use the vps to host just one domain/website. The first time I access Plesk, it asks for some info and first of all it asks form my domain. The default value is localhost.localdomain. Should I leave the default value or should I enter my domain (let's say example.com)?
Is there a way to change the default value of the "Preferred domain" option in the hosting settings of domains in Plesk 11.5? When ever i create a new subscription/domain it just defaults to the value of "domain.ltd" and i have to go into the hosting settings and manually change it to "None". Is there a way i can set it to use the "None" option every time i create new subscriptions or domains?
When I create a CNAME record for domain, and then trying to load it, it goes to default website. It was working fine before, all old CNAME records are working fine.
Tried reconfigure-all but it doesn't fix the problem. I'm using 11.5.30 Update #44
i have a domain registered within PLESK having the same name as the server itself. After a short period of time the domain shows up the PLESK default page instead of the original content located in the vhost httpdocs directory.
To restore the content it's possible to deactivate and re-activate the domain from the customers control panel. But after an amount of time the default page comes back.I first recognized the error after the update to PLESK 12.
I have several domains configured in my Plesk, and one of them is set as the "Detault site" under Home >> Tools & Setings > IP address management. This has the unpleasant side effect that any domain I point to this IP renders content from the Default site unless it's setup. How can I configure the default site to render content from only one domain?
i purchased a VDS and a domain name from godaddy 2 weeks ago. I pointed my domain name to my server and i guess work just fine. but when i googled my domain name i found a damain which is pointing to my website. how can a stop this domain from pointing to my IP?
We recently moved one server to a colo provider and were issued new IP's. One IP is causing us trouble.
We have been getting blocked from sending email to AOL and other free email companies.
When we contacted AOL we were told that they had received complaints about our IP and it was blocked.
Upon doing a RBL check and IP check, it seems that the former owner of our IP is still pointing his domain via eNom to our IP and had at one time sent spam.
If you reverse DNS our IP's.
bad domain -> our IP our domain -> our IP
We contacted the eNom legal department (bad domain's registrar) about the problem.
They responded that they could not do anything about it, only the registrant could.
The spammy domain registrant obviously does not respond to our contacts.
i have dns problem as i think idont know how to solve it or how did it happen iam using this site from more than 8 month i registered it in godaddy as my main domain name register and iam hostingit on my ressler account with many other domains but last night i found that the domain is pointing to my server but it show godaddy parking page i cheeke the name serv its pointing to me i do this repport in dns test i found it is also pointing to go daddy how can that happen and how can i solve it to show my web site again:
(Background) Looking for some advise on domain pointing currently I have a UK server hosting my billing system which is replicated each evening over to my US server
I want to sub domain my primary domain to uk.yourdomain.com & us.yourdomain.com
As redundancy I would also like uk.yourdomain.com to point to the US server should the UK one fail - giving me redundancy, I figure in the next few months I can do this on our AU - creating au.yourdomain.com and replicating our billing system to that datacenter too.
(question) - can this been setup and configured from server level, ie on my primary server WHM dns zones OR should this be created on a registrar level?
I have a domain incl. hosting (fanferwalde.com) and three extra domain names, fanferwalde.nl , fanfalingasate.com , fanfalingasate.nl (all three without hosting) who I want to point to fanferwalde.com.
Before I bought the extra domains I asked the provider if I could point the extra domains to the “head” domain (fanferwalde.com). Yes, that was possible they said so I bought the extra domains. I asked the provider to help with the configuration to point them to the head domain but they refused, I must do it by myself…………………….. There is no possibility they do it when I pay extra for it so I feel pressed to take also a hosting for the extra domains; then I can make a redirect on each index page.
All domain names have an own DNS control panel. I have full access to this.
The first picture is the DNS from the head domain.
The second picture is the DNS from one of the extra domains I want to point to the head domain.
What must I put where so the website from fanferwalde.com will appear when I write fanferwalde.nl in the browser? THANKS in advance!!!
I'm designing a site, www.streetsmartscooters.com, to (obviously) sell scooters. Just yesterday I saw on my Google Analytics that people were getting to my site by searching for X-treme X-10, a particular brand and model of scooter.
I typed the keywords into Google to see what my rankings were, and I was on the fourth page. But the green URL in the search listing showed up as mamafocka.com.
When you go to mamafocka.com, it's all the same information as my website, and changes I make through my FTP login update immediately. If you go to streetsmartscooters.com, you can click on the "Electric Scooters" link on the left nav and it will keep you on mamafocka, but give you the exact same page as on streetsmartscooters (I set that particular link to be relative in the includes file).
My site is hosted on a Windows 2003 virtual server from GoDaddy. SelfSeo.com says that mamafocka.com and streetsmartscooters.com both have the same IP - 208.109.99.16. I just signed up for a dedicated IP address tonight from GoDaddy, but I'm not sure how long it takes to propagate.
Will getting a dedicated IP fix this problem, or have I wasted 6 bux? Is there any way to block that domain name from pointing to my site? It doesn't look to my novice eyes like this is a redirect.
Also, I installed FreeFind on the site earlier this week, I believe. Could somebody have messed with something through that?
I am currently hosting a someone's website, and they want me to point there domain to another ip address(someone else who is hosting their website) He just wants to send and receive e-mails on my sever. Is there a way i can point his domain to a different ip address using WHM?
I want to point on of my domain name towards another webhosting service. My registrar is different from the webhosting service. I have done it many times, it works perfect except for one. Could the old webhosting service be preventing the domain name from pointing to another one?
How can I configure "Backup manager" to clear checkbox "During the backup process, website visitors will be redirected to the custom error document page with the search engine friendly 503 HTTP code" for default (for subscribers, customers, etc.)
I have a customer who registered his domain name with yahoo he now wants to point that domain to a hosting account that I have started for him at GoDaddy. Should be simple but it has been anything but.
He has emailed Yahoo several times with no response, he has called their tech-line only to be told he needs to email them instead. We finally figured out through GoDaddy that Yahoo registers through Melbourne IT. He has tryed calling Melbourne they are in turn asking for a 12 digit registration number that my customer does not have. Melbourne told him he needs to get this from Yahoo, Yahoo says they do not give registration numbers out. This leaves my customer with only 2 options, either register a brand-new domain through GoDaddy or go with Yahoo for hosting.
Has anyone else experienced this? Did you ever finally get through and get things transfered?
Switched from NGINX to Apache2 and now having challenge getting my subdomain s to work properly. Everything worked fine w/ NGINX - so I don't think this is related to my DNS or hosts file setup.
PROBLEM: Calls to dev.domain-name.org are going to www.domain-name.org.
I have tried many different changes to the conf files... NameVirtualHost changes, VirtualHost changes... I can't count how many times I have restarted Apache now.
Here is my setup:
ports.conf ----------- Listen 80 Listen 443 NameVirtualHost 96.126.xxx.xxx:443 (xxx'd out for privacy on forum) NameVirtualHost *:80 within sites-available and activated and linked in sites-enabled:
Impossible to find a way to show, by default, all domains and websites...
When I log on the Plesk Admin, I come first on a list of websites and domains, but they are not «all» listed. I have to go to the full bottom of the page to click on «Show all».
I didn't find a preference or anything else to change that, and I don't understand why all domains are not listed.
I am replacing the default certificate in Plesk so that customers do not get a certificate warning when visiting the panel login page.
I've created the certificate in the "SSL Certificates" section made it default and used it to secure Plesk. However I've still got all the existing domains using the old default certificate, how can I do a mass changeover so that all existing domains are now using the new certificate?
I've updated the IP's to use the new certificate. When I go to "SSL Certificates" in "Tools and Settings", it seems that there are some domains now using the new certificate but quite a lot of the other are still not, how can I get these over too?
My System: Ubuntu 12.04 Plesk 12.0.18 Update #18 Only Webserver no mail
What I want: I have an old sha1 certificate and I would change this for the whole server.
What I have done so far: I have already uploaded the new sha256 certificate with a new private key to plesk (I can not simply replace the old one, plesk does not allow me to upload a new private key).
Then I set the new certificate as standard certificate and pressed the "secure pannel" button.
After that the panel uses the new certificate.
Then I set in "Tools & Settings -> IP Addresses" on both IP addresses the new certificate.
Reboot
But now the "Tools & Settings -> SSL Certificates" shows me that the old certificate is still used 2 times somewhere. But the Interface does not show where it is used. How can I find out where this certificate is used? I want to remove the old certificate from the server.
