Phpmyadmin The Server Is Not Responding Sockets Not Configured ...
Jul 14, 2008
I have two whm cpanel servers on one provider and they both reporting same
error when i click on phpmyadmin on whm:
#2002 - The server is not responding (or the local MySQL server's socket is not correctly configured)
A potential client asked us the followingo you allow PHP to open sockets on your server? If yes, is there any restriction on the amount of data that can be downloaded?
Will we be able to access and load our remote webpage using PHP? We will use sockets and a Pear library to accomplish this.
We are basically planning on using some content from our remote site on the new site which will be hosted on your servers. Kindly reply back at the earliest.
I know that port 80 is reserved for HTTP communication to clients on the apache server, and that the client can receive the HTTP response to any port on the client machine, I think there might be more details to it than this. I am required to describe how client and server sockets are used for the client/server communication between an Apache Web server and Web client processes.
I'm having a very odd problem with one of my Linux (CentOS) cpanel server, all the server's services (http, ssh, mail, dns, etc) stop responding but the server still responds to ping.
I can't find anything wrong at all on the log files either, and the technicians that manually restart the server have told me that there is no indication of a problem on the screen.
I suspected a hardware issue and had the data center techs run a hardware test on the server but everything cleared ok.
This issue started a couple of weeks ago, no major upgrade or install took place when it started happening. From what i can see the halts are completely random, some times it goes for days without it happening and some times it happens just hours after the reboots.
The last packet successfully received from the server was 60.410.682 milliseconds ago. The last packet sent successfully to the server was 60.410.687 milliseconds ago. is longer than the server configured value of 'wait_timeout'. You should consider either expiring and/or testing connection validity before use in your application, increasing the server configured values for client timeouts, or using the Connector/J connection property 'auto Reconnect= true' to avoid this problem.
some of our customers have some problems using socket!
when they want to work with sockets , if the data that is requested in socket would be high ( for example 10Kb) it shows time out and the connection fails. but if the data amount is low (like 1KB) the task would be accomplished.
I did do a search of the forum and it showed a few results, mostly non UK and some which were no longer online.
Now I'll make my own topic doh.
What I am looking for is a host which allows UDP + TCP sockets(fsockopen) so I can query gameservers from my hosting + send other commands to other programs.
Must be located in the UK and be fast
Offering a reseller option is a plus, but not required.
I had never experienced a server other then a dedicated. I decided to use a VPS. I have migrated a few of my accounts on the VPS.
I am experiencing alot of problems. The server keeps running out of sockets. The provider as increase the sockets limits to the maximum.
At first they told me that platinum management had installed some script while hardening the server that was causing the services to stop responding because too many sockets were used.
I agreed to them rebuilding the VPs, them doing the hardening.
Now, same problem. Too many sockets. Every 6 hours I have to open a ticket and ask to do something so that my server becomes functionnal again.
Now they say that it must be a script I am using on the server. I ask them to track that script, and they say the cannot I must list all active script on server.
Now, Im already a bit upset because their definition of fully managed is not what I have come to expect with other provider. For them being fully managed is they will do anything I ask but wont do any proactive task. Even restart the server when it has failed. On top of that, their control panel is not half working and always gives 404 or jams my computer. So Im in the dark, because ssh is not accessible.
I am asking, how can I verify if the node im on is Oversold?

How to install PHP (v.5.3+) compatible with Plesk v.12.08 with support for sockets and pthreads, mysql and etc. for Centos 6.5 (I have some configuring options).
Should I build it or there are another options provided by Plesk panel?
I need only one PHP (not multiple releases) but fine working if possible.
Recently, i upgraded my WAMP from WampServer2.0f to WampServer2.0g.
I uninstalled WampServer2.0f and then only installed WampServer2.0g.
I can access [url] and i can see under my tools section that there is a link to phpMyadmin which points to [url]
I get the error: Forbidden - You don't have permission to access /phpmyadmin/ on this server whenever i try to access phpMyadmin.
Additional Info:
My WAMP icon is white.
I tried Restarting all services but nothing helped.
I have a folder called phpmyadmin3.1.3 which is located inside C:wampapps.
The version of MySQL on my localhost is 5.1.32 (How do i know this? I clicked on my WAMP icon, pointed to MySQL --> Version and it displayed a checked mark on 5.1.32).
Did some homework, and people say that there may be a problem with the phpmyadmin.conf file. It's located in my C:wampalias
Can that file be edited phpmyadmin.conf?
I havent tried uninstalling and reinstalling WAMP. I'll do that as a last resort (and i don't know if that will fix things).
i was trying to create a MySQL database for my site. My site is hosted on a yahoo server. From the control panel, when i click on the Mysql datbase link, i get a page that says Mysql database is active. Then as per the online help provided by yahoo, i created a database admin user name and password. Then i installed phpmyadmin in a newly created folder. Then i accessed the homepage of phpmyadmin and entered my login credentials i,e my database admin username and password. The next page that appears is supposed to let me create a database and access it. But all i get is an empty page with my domain name in the left hand side top corner and the link to the yahoo control panel on the right. I installed phpmyadmin couple of times to check if it was an installation problem, but it was of no use. I tried accesing it from my friends pc, but with no luck. I contacted yahoo support via email couple of days back, but still i haven received any reply from them. Please help me out to fix this problem. Is there anything i missed out?
I deleted Nginx web server and reverse proxy support from Plesk. There is no this service on server, but I still see on the web server informations like nginx/1.6.0 at phpmyadmin page.
After review security server.shows message error the Sections of warning .
This indeed is a topologically error.
How is this to repair and correct.

Its a cpanel vps, so I don't know why that happened. What to do?
I have a very strange problem. Yesterday morning I got a "server down" alert. Restarted httpd and everything run ok ... until today morning, the same problem again.
Symptoms:
1. The webserver did not stop working, it just took too much time to respond.
2. I cannot find anything suspicious in the logs.
3. I started to log the number of apache processes in 4 minutes interval, it did not increase during the failure but remained at a very reasonable number.
4. Now, almost 3 hrs from the last failure, there are 36 apache processes, each eating 14M RAM, server has 4GB ram total, no swapping, almost 3GB are free (cached).
The question is. How should I prepare for the expected tommorow failure, to be able finaly localise the problem?
I have 3 servers ServerA(Web, mail), ServerB(MySQL+Master replication), ServerC(Mysqlslave+web)
It happens that my website stops responding for few mins and then it comes back again automatically. I checked the server logs but I couldn't find any suspicious.
Also, while the website is not accessible when I try to connect internally from ServerC to ServerA or ServerB using SSH. It takes lots of time (approx more than 60 seconds) to connect. When website starts working SSH is also working fine.
This is very complicated for me. Can anyone let me know what should be the problem or how can I find root cause of this problem?
I have submitted a ticket 15 days ago and still no response from Talanovbackup.com. I mentioned an error on their site which seems to be fixed now but I am still unable to login to my data by SSH.
We got a trouble with their service and they don't reply our complain message looking for a good solution. Up till now we still waiting for their respond..Asish...WHERE ARE YOU...!
our site is having problems since a week or so our forum is down, our emails are all down we have 10 staff using different aliases on the same email domain our hosting provider is bluefishhosting.com we have been unable to reach them since the last week we have contacted the company that bluefish buys their reselling account from, but they also tell us to wait another 7 days our office cannot bear this down time of 14 days
recently I have update our Apache 2.2 instance to 2.4.10, and started using Apache in Windows 2008 R2 64 bit (before we were using it in Win 2003). Our Apache is used mainly as reverse proxy to 3 apps. Well, it seems that, even if I have scheduled a nightly reboot of its service, every day it hangs, becoming unresponsive and forcing us to restart it to make it work again.
