View 4 Replieswe're a webdesign company who also sell hosting (white labled). we have over 500 websites hosted with a company (based at telehouse in london - which is a good selling point for us when selling hosting packages). Theyve been really good (reliable servers, good support, good control panel etc...). Theyve also won awards for the reliability of their servers. Unfortunatley, over the past year we've noticed theyve raised their charges by quite a bit and the support has been very poor.
My question is: does anyone reccommend a company we can move all our sites to? this is obviously business critical (not only for us but for all our clients too!), and so we want to be absolutely certain of the company and what they can offer before we move over everything.
We've thought about a dedicated server with 1&1. It would be a fraction of the cost, but I always believe in 'you get what you pay for'. could this be the case here?
Does anyone have any experience having your server in the US and having to move over to Asia? Will my websites be too slow to work on while I'm over in Thailand?
I have my VPS in California, and I might be going to Thailand for about half a year or more. I like to know if I could still work on my websites and upload some files or would it be too lagy to work?
When trying to access any web sites or webmail on a plesk server i keep getting the following.
Forbidden
You don't have permission to access / on this server.
Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Nothing as far as i can see has changed on the server.
I cant access plesk control panel due to network restrictions but have command line access.
what could of caused this blanket ban?
Cant see any changes in .htaccess files, but didnt think that plesk would affect these much anyway
I have some error with my server. All my sites are inaccessible.
Code:

Yesterday we move some accounts from one server to another.
But the clients cant login to their forums/blogs/cms/whatever
What the problem maybe is?
We cant login to our main site which transfer too,and to our billing system too.
how to move my web sites from one host to another?
I believe my new host will happily do so.. and, I'd really like to know how to do it myself.
Two of the sites have blogs with lots of posts on them.
If you know of any video tutorials, I'd appreciate it.
I've watched one on backing up the site to "remote ftp server". I do not know what that means and have not been able to find a description/definition.
I wasn't sure if this would be better posted in the resellers forum, but that seemed to generally be reviews of companies.
Anyway, I work for a company who is trying to move a large amount of sites from one server to a new one. I was looking for the best way to handle this, since you run into issues with mySQL databases, file permission getting lost in ftp, ect.
I see several ISP advertising that they can help clients without any downtime? I now have a couple of large clients I am supposed to move to my servers. They are moving from cpanel servers to my cpanel servers, so the moving part is easy enough, but how should I proceed to have no or very little downtime?
View 6 Replies View RelatedWe have three virtual hosts on our Apache 2.2 installation on Windows Server 2003. For some reason, I'm unable to open log files (error.log and each virtual hosts-specific log), even though I have full administrator rights. (The log folder is full access to admins.) Every time I try to open the file or even copy it to another location, it just says "Access Denied." I temporarily solved the issue for one of the logs by adding BufferedLogs On
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just recently created a new server with windows 2012 R2 server and need to move the mail and backups to another drive.
I have tried to run the Plesk reconfigurator as an Administrator and it comes up with the following error message see attached screenshot
I have installed openvpn in my vps.
OS:Centos
CP:Virtuozzo
Now the main problem is that I was never able to login to admin after installation/configuration i.e
[url]
This is admin url,
I have contact the openvpn but they have not yet supported much they say I have to enter root password. But I dont know what are default login for that.
One more thing I guess root is the username and should I need to enter my Virtuozzo password or what?
I'm Unable to Login to Control Panel, this issue started few days back, in that time i'm using Plask v11.5, When i try to log in browser try to log in and few minutes after it showing Error 500, Application error, I try to run reconfigurator.exe to verify & fix the Plesk installation, everything updated fine but issues still exist today i decided to upgrade to v12 and i upgrade to V12, everything installed fine and but still login issues there.
This time whey i try to login, i'm not getting any error message, but after some time i got mail from the server "alarm level changed. Server health parameter "Services > Plesk CPU usage" changed its status from "green" to "red"."
After updating i'm unable to login to the plesk panel with every user account.

I need to move an SSL certificate from a cPanel server to a Plesk server.

I can't seem to find any info on this.. probably because i'm not wording it correctly
What is the fastest way to move all accounts from old servers to new servers with minimum downtime for customers' websites? Both servers are using WHM/Cpanel and i need to keep reseller priviledges and packages also, which system files should i copy to new server?
View 9 Replies View RelatedHow can i move my website from one server to another?
There are 15gb of files so its not an easy move.
I tried moving it with WHM backup and restore thing but that just messed everything up.
Is there a more simple and efficient way?
I've been with LayeredTech and my yearly renewal is up. Their pricing went up significantly, so I'm shopping at SoftLayer amongst others. My site gets roughly 700k unique visitors and 1.8 million pageviews. These numbers will likely go up. I run vBulletin and Joomla dbs. I have two identical servers (one has cPanel). They are configured:
Dual Quad Core 5310 Intel XEON's 1.60 GHz-- Dual 73GB SCSI drives - 4GB RAM -- 8GB Cache.
The webserver uses Litespeed as an apache replacement.
Q: They are offering upgrades to either Xeon 5320 or 5335. Does anyone have a recommendation on either?
Q: I've heard that database servers don't necessarily need as much spec wise as webservers. Should I upgrade my webserver? Downgrade the mySQL server?
Unfortunately, I need to make this move today to get the pricing and put the wheels in motion, so I don't get billed by Layered Tech for 1 year of service.
I have purchaseed server hosting with with domain, now I want to move this site on another server I asked my old server administrator to give domain registration detail but he said he can't because there are lot more site he had registered from that account

View 0 Replies View RelatedI was just wondering is it possible to move a directory to another server through SSH?
I bought a website a few weeks ago and I have all the files on the server except 30gb of content, now I've tried to put the folder into a tar archive but every time I try it brings up this error:
So I need a way to drag that folder from the old server to my new server through SSH because it will take me ages downloading and uploading all the content.
I'm a programmer at a company, and since I'm the only technical inclined person I have been given the responsibility of a "server" move - even though I'm a bit on the deep end here.
At the moment we have a shared hosting solution were we have our email and an ASP.NET application. We need better performance and thus we are moving to a dedicated server at ServerBeach.
I need to install our app at the dedicated server (that's the easy part), and then I need to setup Exchange Server (hard part) and then also obviously move the domain so it points at the new domain.
I have never ever installed Exchange on a server and I've heard it's a real PITA.
My checklist is this:
Install db
Install app
Make a redirect from the old server place to the new server
Set up Exchange Server 2007
Point the domain to the new place.
I'm the process of reading a 172-page long guide from MS on how to installing Exchange 2007, but I'd be interested in hearing any hints and tips on this.
